None, that i've found within the market... I believe that http://www.dynolicious.com/ will be releasing a version for android, but dont hold me to that! - If you do find any others on your search, remember to update this post

I would also like to know if anyone knows of games (or apps) specifically designed to run on the Xscale cpu (not ARM designed that just happen to run on an xscale like a ZX81  !)
I have looked all over but I think it is maybe too early in the day for xscale only stuff, prove me wrong!
God i love the helpfull responses some people give !!
anyway try this site i came accross a while ago .. www.pdagold.com look under the freeware section its FULL off apps/games/utils all of which are free.
like McDonalds would say ... ba da ba ba ba ..... I'm Lovin it !

Xscale is a specific CPU, but it is ARM architecture, so ARM does not mean it's not Xscale optimised.

TytnII Vs Imate 9502

I have just been given a Imate 9502 on a plan( ok i have to pay for it over a period of time)and as this uses the same chipset as the the TytnII i thought this would be interesting, also keep in mind the Imate 9502 uses a 640x480 VGA screen..have completed some benchmarking using VSbenchmark..
Imate9502 TYTNII
Graphic test1 1717 1101
Other test2 1913 1875
Jpeg test3 3098 2323
Games test4 1099 1278
Sound test5 1944 0668
Total Score 1954 1449
Very interesting indeed, only score which TytnII wins on is the Games test. But as the 9502 is running at higher res than the TytnII and getting higher scores does this mean Imate have fixed the qualcomm issue????..
movie play back is a breeze stock... will run tests later using diff players
Just from those numbers I'm pretty sure nothing is really fixed. Check out the score difference from the P6500 to the Kaiser
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381254
I've seen variation even between Kaisers of a few hundred points just depending on ROMs, software and a myriad of little things that can affect the overall score.
Are you taking into account that the res is double that of the TytnII,also according to VSbenchmark's web page, the scores that the 9502 got are lil over mid way compared to a tytnII having a reported score of 1444 admitedly there was a KAISER on there with a slightly higher score but it still wasnt anywhere near the 9502.
The reason i reported the TytnII score and not the KAISER from VSbenchmark was MY TytnII got sim Scores.
Another point of interest is the 9502 has VGA out, which i hooked up to the phillips 50in LCD and works a treat.
also will down load SPD benchmark and will report those scores
Technically, the resolution is 4 times that of the Kaiser if you care comparing pixel count. There are 4 times as many pixels on a 640x480 screen than there is on a 320x240 screen.
Hi mav42,
Could you please report what free program memory (RAM) you get immediately after a soft reset. In some reviews I have read it is just over 32 MB which in my opinion is very low for a 128 MB installed device. For example my TyTn II gives close to 70 MB of free RAM immediately after a soft reset.
Shall be obliged for your response as I am seriously considering getting one myself but the memory issue is holding me back.
Regards
Are we sure that benchmark is even measuring the kind of stuff the Tytn II is known to be missing? I thought someone pointed out, the last time comparisons were drawn with these benchmarks, that the accelerated hardware wasn't actually being tested at all.
Someone (who knows what they're doing) needs to get hold of a rom for the 9502 and start analysing it... Chainfire, where art thou?

Im sorry Im just a idiot heres me thinking that both these devices use the same chipset doh....wait a minute they do.......all i did was compare these device's using the same benchmarks at the same time to see if there was any major diff, report it and work from there....and in this case there is a diff .also even if stated by Bong that these benchmarks dont measure accelerated hardware theres still a diff between these 2 devices using software rendition

I meant no offence, sorry it appears I've caused some. My question was genuine - if the benchmark doesn't test the imageon features etc, then that would explain the relatively small difference in the tests, even if the 9502's video is miles better in use.
I'm well aware of the shared chipset, and that's why I'm so interested in a developer getting hold of the ROM and extracting any drivers they can.
Can you post a TCPMP or Core player video playback benchmark? Thanks

ok after doing a soft reset
total:84.41mb...........in use 50.26mb..........FREE 34.15mb
hope that helps
This is exactly why we need a 9502 section on here! From what I have read so far (only on mobile phone consumer forums mind, so no techies), the major issues are:
1. Complete lack of free RAM meaning only one or two apps can be run simultaneously.(Unconfirmed how much this issue is related to Telstra ROM/bloatware).
2. Is not natively SDHC compliant and although the WM6 SDHC drivers work, they disable the wifi functionality of the device.
Both of these things I think could be remedied by XDA-Dev geniuses.
I just want to know does the 9502 suffer from the I-hit-a-button-but-nothing-happens-unless-i-hold-it-down-for-a-few-seconds-then-it-clicks syndrom that the Tilt has?

I have not come accross this problem..........so far....
aww man. if that SOny X1 wasn't coming out, I would buy the 9502. That and not being VGA is my only complaint with the Tilt I have. I miss the VGA and I can't stand it how sometimes the screen or key just wont register presses unless you hold it down.

Sony X1 doesn't have a jogdial and OK button on left side, I guess all TyTN users got used to have that... 9502 does have those
Is there going to have a Imate 9502 Section?
I too holding a imate
I would really appreciate if somebody could post the XIP and some of the other graphics related dlls (DDI.dll, dependencies, etc). ROM dump would be nice.
So far, I have the 9502 ahi2dati.dll from some other thread and it's the same as the KS20 so that's a good comparison point, depending on how you want to look at it.

PSX - Playstation 1 on Diamond - with FPSECE

Hi,
i don't know if everybody knows, you can play PSX 1 games on the PockePC devices...
Diamond has a fast Processor VGA Screen so thats good conditions too play games... the bad ones are the missing buttons... but with FPSEce there is also a onscreen Controller so that should not be the problem...
Heres the offical Homepage:
http://www.fpsece.net/
i prefer to use the .96 Beta from Forum!!
heres a vid of running ff7 on a pocketpc:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OTulLVj3Ww
i'm totally impressed with the psx bt controller... i didn't saw/or know that such things exist... so you dont need hardware buttons
i have testet FF7 today too but i don't get it too run...
the Bios starts well.. FPS over 100... but after that noting happens...
i have tryed different img what i could found for download... my original ff7 cd is lost somewhere... so i can't try to rip it off by my self... maybe someone can try this... (Should be done with alcohol as i read somewhere because all other destroys the images to work with the emu...)
any news for this emulator?
COOL! could you add G-sensor support to this? say to press the center button and then use the g-sensor to detect motion and control the direction?
PS2 games me ay also possibly be playable on the diamond,
Remember the Diamond has a 528 MHz processor, while the PS2 has only 294MHz processor
specs at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2
sorry.. if u are saying the diamond is faster than a ps2.. its not.. the processor speed is simply not the same
for e.g.
1ghz on pentium and 1ghz on pentium 4 with HT.. which is faster? de latter rite...
plus ps2 has a well powered GPU.. diamond has a dedicated video chip but its not v powerful.. merely for touchflo 3D...
try installing pocket pc games like tony hawkk pro skater 2 which was also released on the ps1 and u know wad im toking about.. even with hardware acceleration the game isnt as smooth as playing on the ps1 itself..
actually
actually yes and no to a few people above me
the ps2 actually has 2 cpus a 299mhz cpu and a 150mhz co-processor
these would be the hardest to emulate the 299mhz cpu is actually the easy one the 150mhz cpu is a vector (floating point) cpu which arm cpus (like the diamonds) do very slowly however the graphics card is a 16 pipe 147mhz 4mb graphics card which belive it or not we have more power than (the diamond has a 333mhz 12 pipe gfx card with 16mb of faster ram) but the problem is that there is no driver for the card on the diamond for developers like me to use.
so the short story is yes it is doable even at 30fps if they could use the gfx card to emulate the co-processor but it would take a lot of development time and skills to do and some help from HTC to do it in a relistic time...
In my experience, you need a CPU with at least 10 times the clock speed of the chip you're trying to emulate, unfortunately. That's before you take dedicated graphics processors etc. into account. It will be a good while before we see PS2 games being run on phones.
i managed to get destruction derby working on my trinity at ~24 fps which slowed down to 13 fps when you touched the screen. i am sure the diamond could do better

yup, the infamous touchscreen cpuusage bug HTC hasn't been bothered fixing for 2.5 years...
I've tried the emulator with... Tekken 3 . Just 12-13 fps in portrait mode, so it works but not playable. If you try it in landscape mode, it doesn't work. And the onscreen pad is too small on Diamond screen.
It'd be nice if everyone posted
Games: | Options enabled/disabled | FPS
No need for compatibility, since it's available on the website.

So, Diamond still doesent have video drivers? It must have some. And only 16 MB RAM ? Co-procesor has 64 MB RAM, does he?
I've tried the emulator with FF7 but 27 fps in portrait mode
isnt 27fps a very good and playable speed? or is the problem because thats in portrait mode?
27 fps is very slow and not playable
27 is good speed, I played llots of games on my PC on 22 FPS.

Hahahaha lol. Thats funny.
so i would say 27fps is not awesome but it's defenitly more than enough for FF7.
a average cam used for TV captures about 25f/s
It has to be at least 21fps if you want to cheat the eye.
always posted in this forum...read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409990 i've made various test with FFIX
I could not get the fpsece run on my diamond. Although I have copied bios file in bios folder (I've already have a PS 1 so everything is legal) and try some game. But after trying to open .iso's diamond stucks for 15 seconds and nothing happens.... Any ideas?

Yes it is! Especially when you consider that its max Fps on the actual PS1 was 30Fps

Quake 2 Android

They've ported Quake 2 and Quake 3 to Android, and they work great on the Droid apparently.
http://androidandme.com/2010/02/news/android-bounty-fully-working-quake-2-and-3-ported-to-droid/
I tried Quake2Android on my Touch, and it runs! But I only got 6 f.p.s. even with the graphical settings lowered (myn's build). Kinda cool, but really needs to run at 15 f.p.s. at least. You can get the apk for free from here:
http://sites.google.com/site/quake2android/
I downloaded the 40 mb map file over 3g in about 10 minutes, but you can get it from the web too.
Well I was wondering if there would be a way for one of you genius hackers to take a look at this app and see if you can't make some optimizations to make this run better on our system. Although on the quake2android page, it shows HTC Tatoo with 5 f.p.s. so I'm not expecting this to get any better until the guy releases a new version.

To get it go faster go to video settings set it to 320x240, yes to 8 bit textures and lower texture quality, also change the screen size slightly, i can get depending on what i am looking at 15-20 fps without sound.
Tried to get quake 3 to work http://code.google.com/p/kwaak3/ didnt have much luck yet, it cant allocate the files I get Hunk data failed to allocate 64 megs
I didn't think hw3d was supported on Donut (myn's rom).
If you try msmission's ROM, you'll probably get better performance due to hardware OpenGL support.
hw3d is up on Myn's build so I don't think there would be much of a difference.

Yeah its in the kernel I think. Armadillo Roll and some other 3d games work great.
60 FPS!
Just downloaded both apps, and they both run at 60 FPS, i am using samsung galaxy S I9000 with the Android 4.1 jelly bean ROM

Need help with programming

Hi there,
I am currently trying to develop a game for android in OpenGL ES....and I am testing it on my Nexus One. But I have run into some problems, and I would like to ask somebody about it,but I can't seem to find any forum devoted to android programming - could you please point me to the right direction?
Or, in case someone of you will know the answer to this problem:
I currently have a very basic scene - background made of 25 tiles(256x256 texture each), and then a number of textured cubes(128x128 texture for each side of a cube ). However, when I try to display approx. more than 10 cubes, the performance becomes so sluggish that I can't even rotate the scene smoothly. I can't imagine how can I add more objects(player, enemies, all that kind of stuff) when it runs so slowly with 35 objects in total. I mean - games like Raging Thunder 2 probably display hundreds of objects at once(plus they do lots of computations behind the scenes) and they run super-smooth on my nexus one. What am I doing wrong? Could somebody help me please????
