Lite Rom with Manila and without HTC keyboard(EZinput) - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

i am looking for Lite Rom with Manila and without HTC keyboard(EZinput), i am going to use FingerKeyboard instead them, i cant use to SIPchanger to fix that, because i need use 2 different Input software in there, i try many Rom, still cant find here, can anyone have solotion?

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "light" but I use my own remake of panosha's Black Pearl in which EzInput and Opera are installed as cabs and therefore can be easily removed. Most OEM programs are removed at all (I prefer to install software so that I can upgrade or replace it without reflashing the whole ROM).
So if you are interested I can share it providing panosha doesn't mind. The problem is that I have no idea what he would think about making modifications of his work public.

you can get fingerkeyboard working on a rom with ezinput installed.
you just remove the regkeys pointing to ezinput

Oh Thanks reply, can share your ROM wtih me(with manila?), i am interesting with this, can u give me the download linking?

Touch-IT Version plus other

Hi Guys,
Two days ago, I update my ROM to the Touch-IT 2.2, and then installed the slide-lock, etc.
My first question is: What are the main differences between version 2.2 and 2.3? Should I make the effort and update my ROM release to version 2.3
Also does anyone know of any software that does smart scrolling kinda like the iphone does. I saw a program called pocket plus 4 that includes this but it also bring alot of other things i dont need
If anyone can answer me please let me know
Thanks,
Serge
Touch-It v2.3 has several new goodies, is more stable and leaves more free space. But at the moment there's as small glitch concerning the touch dual keyboard app. which will make your keyboard messed-up.
Wait for the final version of 2.3 and then do the upgrade!
There is nothing wrong with the keyboard, there is two versions of the Touch-it romz, 1 made for the wing and the other for the P4..... ..... if you use the wrong one for you device the keyboard mapping will be different, but install the right one and the keyboard will be A.ok
And as for Pocket Plus. it gives you the option to disable/uninstall INDIVIDUAL features that you do not want/need
How can i tell what version of Touch-it i've installed
now that I look at the post I used to upgrade I am not sure what version of touch-it I have, can someone tell me how I can find out what version of touch-it i have
Also in terms of common apps, and good resources I can look at, and the smart scrolling does anyone have any ideas in regards to this
Thanks Again,

About the smart scrolling, Touch-it already have it. You donot need to install Pocket plus for that. I personally feel Touch-it 2.3 faster and more responsive.
Smart Scrolling in Touch-it 2.3??
When you say it already has it, how do you activate it?
What this always a feature?
I installed version 2.2 but will be upgrading to version 2.3 this afternoon.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

The Touch-IT wing 2.3 works like a charm on my Herald. The keymapping problem you describe occur in BETA Touch-IT wwe P4350 (Build 18125.0.4.2) on my herald due to XT9
However someone seems to have a solution for it posted on page 1 right here: Fastest and lightest Herald ROM!.
Haven't tried it yet, because i'm sticking to Touch-It 2.0 untill the final version of Touch-It wwe P4350 is released by Itje
New user
I'm new to this so can someone give me step by step instructions on how to install this Thanx.
Indeed the XT9 problem; thanks for the heads-up prairydog; will immidaitely try the reg edits.
ITje wrote a full manual on how to upgrade to the touch-it rom.
The best way to get familiar with the proces is by reading the forums; besides this you will gain enough info to be confident in what you do without bricking your expensive herald

BETA: Extended Herald Kitchen for WM6.1

New extended Kitchen for Herald
HERALD_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar
Related:
Extended Kitchen for Hermes
Extended Kitchen for Trinity
Extended Kitchen for Artemis
Thanks to misar, FreePK for helping with this new set of tools!
About the Kitchen
Herald base: HTC WWE 4.17.405.2
OS base: VF Kaiser UK 3.08.161.0 (Build 19199)
OEM Apps removed, but you need to clean up the OEMDrivers package
I did not do any changes to the OS, because it should be a clean base Kitchen for all of you
Full XIP editing supported by the Kitchen
New tool to merge all dsm files to one big file and delete all rgu's
I think the OEM package to SYS problem should be solved... but did not try it yet
How to use it
Requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package
OEM and SYS can be used as known
The content of ROM\XIP will be used to create a new XIP section for the OS
You don’t have to worry about relocating modules... add/remove whatever you like and the new tools will take care of relocating modules or freeing RAM
.VM and .ROM is updated automatically
Actually this Kitchen runs in auto mode, which means you only need to run BuildNB.bat to create the ROM. You can change that by editing the bat files; made it this way, because I don’t use the options in BuildOS.exe
I consider this a perfect port of the new build to this device
Replaced all XIP SYS packages (I did not just changed coredll.dll to get the new build number)
There were also boot.rgu changes my MS, those have been added too
SYS is completely untouched
Read this for download:
All donations are very welcome!
I need to buy a new device, because this time my Trinity is gone forever and I cannot use my girlfriends Artemis without being killed (by mistake I deleted all contacts last time I used it for testing... she was not very happy about that )
When you are getting money for the ROMs you cook using my kitchen, I would really appreciate a donation.
I'm not talking about 50% of you incomes, but one small donation would be fair I think.
To download the Kitchen click at "All donations are very welcome"
!!! This was only meant for ppl never donated for these tools and expecting donations for ROM's created using my Kitchen !!!
Thanks to all those who have donated already!
Happy cooking!
Come on guys - the ROM (I installed a test version by bepe) has nothing inside - real barebone...
BUT it is BOOTING
And it is what I call "click n´get" = no lack when clicking start-settings
So start cooking...
And once again: IT is a KITCHEN === NO usable ROM!!!!
which one is the herald kitchen ?

Forget about 19716, it is a very old build! Dont ask me about this logic.
19199 seams to be the final build, so please use this one. It's more stable, not beta like 19716, faster.
Now all I need is a way to bypass the flash center's 51.2mb limit and I'm in heaven. ;-) Awesome release. Cooking as we speak, instead of sleeping...

I'll strip it a little more, trying to get the smallest possible (working) rom for building my own one.

edit: do we have to add some drivers or something? No matter what i try, the touchscreen doesn't work so i can't get past the "Tap the screen to set up your...."-screen.
mmh, adding the old drivers from 6.0 doesn't work. Am i missing a step? Can anyone confirm that it works out of the box?

I'm working on a stripped version as well... For the touchscreen to work, make sure you have the touch.dll driver in your OEMDRIVERS or a TOUCH package with the needed touch.dll.

Rhodium Dialer

Hi guys,
i am sorry if this is not the right place to post my question, but could someone explain if it is possible to extract the Rhodium dialer from the relevant ROM and covert it to a cab for installation on a stock ROM?
I appreciate any answers as i am new to this but would be interested in starting to play with ROMs.
Many thanks in advance.
just copy the needed files from the oem folder and use wince cab manager to build your cab,
if you know how to cook that is.
Nope, actually i have no idea...yet! But i am eager to start learning a bit more about cooking so if you have any good posts or articles please let me know.
Did someone try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521815 ?
Yeah, I tried it but it doesn't work. It keeps saying that the install is unsuccessful, even though I have sdkcerts installed. Not sure why it doesn't install.
I am usign this compatibility pack in my latest pure ROMs
(my ROMs are "pure" xperia, no based on blackstone or rhodium OEMs as others)
I have included this compatibiity pack in my latest ROM and I was able to successfuly run many Manila / TF3D2 apps in the SEX1 ROM
Well, I made a CAB out of my OEM package, please download it and install it, then try adding the rhodium dialer or other manila apps, and please report
If it works, it would be a great achievement for non-ROM flashing users of our community
.
EDIT
24 JUN 09
first test worked for some
second version up, hope this one works for ALL stock Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 ROMs
NOTICE THIS IS BASED ON WWE, but should be tested over other languages too
Here are some RHODIUM/TOPAZ/BLACKSTONE APPS I have CABbed should you want to test them too (mp3 trimmer, comm manager, vol control, voice rec, youtube... etc)

Soooo hot damn news! Gtrab, U're simply the best. I'm trying install Rhodium dialer now.
It works. Thax U so much Gtrab. Now i have Sex1 with Rhodium dialer
Gtrab, thanks so much.
Does the rhodium dialer work okay? I had Yota dialer but it slowed things down and had a few other limitations.
Hmmm, strange; I installed the compatibility pack then rhodium dialer, but still same error message (installation unsucessful). Anyone else have success?

Pack 1 doesn't allow to install Rhodium conm. But pack 2 does. Its work perfectly. Even I can install TF3D like WC Rhodium packet, and easily switch back to Today (like in wm6.1). Gtrab, much appreciate.
Still not working on mine (X1a NAM R2A). Maybe it has something to do with previous install of Yota contacts? Anyway, thanks gtrab for your contribution.
gtrab: I WAS able to install HTC voice recorder, so this seems to be specific to the rhodium dialer, at least on my phone.
Created topic for other Rhodium CABed apps.

looking for latest and fastest german rom

Hi,
Ive got a xperia and want to flash it with a cooked rom. there so many roms here, from so many developers. I dont get them all and am confused.
how many different developers do this portal have? and are all compatible with different language packages?
what is now the latest and most stable german rom?
thanks in advance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532400
lookie - lookie
the last and the fast - I know only 3 or 4 german rom cookers for WM6.5.
Is this so difficult, to test this roms ?
my advice would be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513764
thread title says 3.3.3, latest should be 3.3.4.
it´s just win 6.1 with touchflo, and everything included just works.
i never had to soft reset my phone because of freezes or something like that since using this rom.
definitively worth trying.
If you don't like the handling of WM 6.5, like me, I just can't get used to it, there is also a ROM from chalid called cmEX 0.8, which uses WM 6.1, TouchFlo and some SW is uninstallable as well.
My favorite one I'm using now for about 3 months.

i wont ercommend this version because there no way to deactivate the t9 crap (wort vorschlagen) feature. deactivating it in the menu doesnt work and thus its kinda impossible to type sms or search something in the internet.
The creator of the ROM provides CAB to deactivate T9. Just download and install, works fine her

Extract chinese font and Imput method

Is is possible to extract the Chinese Font and input method from the Official HKCSL_WWE ROM? (CSL is a phone company in Hong Kong)
I am using the Offcial HKCSL_WWE ROM on my Pure now but I would like to use some nicely customize ROM find here.
The only only problem is I need Chinese. I wish I can put the Chinese font and input method to some cooked ROM.
Thank you for any reply,
From my experience with it so far, not really. The input has not been successfully installed on top of any of the existing cooked roms.
You will have to cook your own rom using HK CSL CHT input. I have not seen any of the cooked roms on here providing the CHT input.
yup...probably like what you said..

These are the cabs I use to get Chinese display on my Topaz. Seems to work fine with the new manila. First, I install the font cab, then without rebooting, install the NLS cab. Then reboot. Sometimes it takes 2 reboots to get working, but so far so good. These cabs only provide support for viewing Chinese, not typing it. You'll need to find something else for that. There are several input methods floating around on xda if u look.
Good Luck
i use ricky 6.5 chinese cab too. [tho i edit the cab and put another font in it, cuz the one ricky had was bold and i didnt want bold ^^;]
heres the procedure i use everytime i flashed a custom [energy] rom::
1. install TF3D2.Chinese.Taiwan_20090917_xmatrix.cab [by xkaiser] to convert most words to chinese. no need to reboot after install. n u will notice most things r displayed as squares now [install this if you want your manila to display in chinese, proceed to #2 if installed, if not installed, no need to do step 2]
2. IMPORTANT copy the files in smsfix.zip to \Windows root folder [this is because the language pack deleted the sms notification files, so if you dont add these files back, you will not receive any sound or vibrate when a new message comes in]
3. install RickyMSYH6.0Full__.cab follow the installation and soft reset when it asks to reset
4. install HTC Rhodium A4 IME V2.8 WVGA.cab [this is a chinese input that im currently using, it was designed for a touchpro2, so the keyboard is pretty much alike as the one we are using. tho... this one doesnt have handwritten input :[ ] this software is in simplifed chinese, but it works fine with typing traditional and hong kong characters
i dont know if installing these cabs will have any side affects though, i have no problem with it. been using them for awhile now, and they work with all the energy roms ive flashed [including the latest topaz 2011 build]
do it on your own risk :]

What everyone is saying is that even if you successfully extract the files, you couldn't install them into a cooked ROM. You would need to create your own ROM and add the chinese input when you cook it. I have tried some cabs in XDA that claim to let you use the htc chinese input and fonts, but they never worked for me. In fact they totally screwed up my phone and I had to hard reset.
That being said, you could (potentially) dump the rom you are using, then import it into a kitchen and cook your own custom ROM. There are lots of cooking tutorials on this site if you look around, but be prepared to invest considerable time and energy into the learning process. And to be honest, I think the other viewing and input methods listed in this thread are superior.
Just my 2 cents.

The display problem is very easy to fix. There are many fonts out there that work on Manila. If that's what is being looked for, I think some solutions have already been posted in this thread.
However, if you're trying to get the original HK CSL HTC CHT IME installed, then I am not aware of any solutions yet.

And to be honest, I think the other viewing and input methods listed in this thread are superior.
Just my 2 cents.

Actually, that is a good idea ^^. I'm going to try dumping and adding. I do have the extracted inputs.

i use ricky 6.5 chinese cab too.
4. install HTC Rhodium A4 IME V2.8 WVGA.cab [this is a chinese input that im currently using, it was designed for a touchpro2, so the keyboard is pretty much alike as the one we are using. tho... this one doesnt have handwritten input :[ ] this software is in simplifed chinese, but it works fine with typing traditional and hong kong characters
i dont know if installing these cabs will have any side affects though, i have no problem with it. been using them for awhile now, and they work with all the energy roms ive flashed [including the latest topaz 2011 build]
do it on your own risk :]
i zipped and upload the files i used

hi can you try to reupload the files as i couldnt download
I have successfully installed this Chinese IME (official ezinput) on the NhatHoa ROM using 23529 and manila 2011 3030. I did first install Chinese fonts and a NLS cab... (u can look for my post earlier in the thread.)
Seems to be working fine so far. Better backup before you try it though. I have heard it cant be uninstalled very easily.

Actually can use both English and Chinese directly with a keyboard button and also by changing sip... working great so far. Also both English and Chinese dictionaries seem to be working ok.
