Extract chinese font and Imput method - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is is possible to extract the Chinese Font and input method from the Official HKCSL_WWE ROM? (CSL is a phone company in Hong Kong)
I am using the Offcial HKCSL_WWE ROM on my Pure now but I would like to use some nicely customize ROM find here.
The only only problem is I need Chinese. I wish I can put the Chinese font and input method to some cooked ROM.
Thank you for any reply,

From my experience with it so far, not really. The input has not been successfully installed on top of any of the existing cooked roms.
You will have to cook your own rom using HK CSL CHT input. I have not seen any of the cooked roms on here providing the CHT input.

yup...probably like what you said..

Thanks every one

These are the cabs I use to get Chinese display on my Topaz. Seems to work fine with the new manila. First, I install the font cab, then without rebooting, install the NLS cab. Then reboot. Sometimes it takes 2 reboots to get working, but so far so good. These cabs only provide support for viewing Chinese, not typing it. You'll need to find something else for that. There are several input methods floating around on xda if u look.
Good Luck

i use ricky 6.5 chinese cab too. [tho i edit the cab and put another font in it, cuz the one ricky had was bold and i didnt want bold ^^;]
heres the procedure i use everytime i flashed a custom [energy] rom::
1. install TF3D2.Chinese.Taiwan_20090917_xmatrix.cab [by xkaiser] to convert most words to chinese. no need to reboot after install. n u will notice most things r displayed as squares now [install this if you want your manila to display in chinese, proceed to #2 if installed, if not installed, no need to do step 2]
2. IMPORTANT copy the files in smsfix.zip to \Windows root folder [this is because the language pack deleted the sms notification files, so if you dont add these files back, you will not receive any sound or vibrate when a new message comes in]
3. install RickyMSYH6.0Full__.cab follow the installation and soft reset when it asks to reset
4. install HTC Rhodium A4 IME V2.8 WVGA.cab [this is a chinese input that im currently using, it was designed for a touchpro2, so the keyboard is pretty much alike as the one we are using. tho... this one doesnt have handwritten input :[ ] this software is in simplifed chinese, but it works fine with typing traditional and hong kong characters
i dont know if installing these cabs will have any side affects though, i have no problem with it. been using them for awhile now, and they work with all the energy roms ive flashed [including the latest topaz 2011 build]
do it on your own risk :]

Thank you both. I wonder if the file(s) provided will work on the latest/newest Sense 2.5 (Manila 2.5.2011.30300) with Leo 2.54? Because the Ricky's MSYahei6 no longer work. In the meantime I do not need chinese input, only need the chinese display/support.

What everyone is saying is that even if you successfully extract the files, you couldn't install them into a cooked ROM. You would need to create your own ROM and add the chinese input when you cook it. I have tried some cabs in XDA that claim to let you use the htc chinese input and fonts, but they never worked for me. In fact they totally screwed up my phone and I had to hard reset.
That being said, you could (potentially) dump the rom you are using, then import it into a kitchen and cook your own custom ROM. There are lots of cooking tutorials on this site if you look around, but be prepared to invest considerable time and energy into the learning process. And to be honest, I think the other viewing and input methods listed in this thread are superior.
Just my 2 cents.

The display problem is very easy to fix. There are many fonts out there that work on Manila. If that's what is being looked for, I think some solutions have already been posted in this thread.
However, if you're trying to get the original HK CSL HTC CHT IME installed, then I am not aware of any solutions yet.

I have successfully installed this Chinese IME (official ezinput) on the NhatHoa ROM using 23529 and manila 2011 3030. I did first install Chinese fonts and a NLS cab... (u can look for my post earlier in the thread.)
Seems to be working fine so far. Better backup before you try it though. I have heard it cant be uninstalled very easily.

thanks for the heads up. now, after the install into a WWE ROM, will one still be able to input Chinese or English by switching the keyboard/input method or something?

Actually can use both English and Chinese directly with a keyboard button and also by changing sip... working great so far. Also both English and Chinese dictionaries seem to be working ok.

I don't think so - it looks like it's a full OS translation.
there is lot's of part-translation solutions for most of the devices today.
BTW, it works really good!
great work dude

will it work on the diamond?
it will work on my htc fuze???
EDIT: This is working good on my HTC fuze
p.s. must do HR to delete all the previous hebrew software!!!
Does it show Hebrew in office as well?
Is it possible to set it as Hebrew enabled (Hebrew support but english menues)?
I took a close look, it's a full translation for the Touch HD.
I think that it will work on other devices but you will have some mistakes (such as 5 mp camera in Diamond...)

It's a FULL OS TRANSLATION.
including the office applications, the games, the HTC applications, etc...
If you need only Hebrew support and keyboard - search for the Polaris Hebrew solution.
I am aware of the polaris hebrew.
I was wondering if only installing the first cab - will it enable hebrew and keyboard but keep the OS in english.

I looked inside the cab files, the first file is the polaris hebrew install with keyboard txt files, so i believe it will install only Heb fonts, right-left support and Heb keyboard. can you confirm that for the other people who's asking the same question?
and "dude" - do you have any suggest for the dialer?
Thanks for doing this!
Using Touch Pro:
Just tried installing the first cab, not the second, and I got the Hebrew fonts, right->left, and keyboard, which is all I want.
It's not a perfect system. For example, on the Hebrew keyboard (really Italian), there is no period. Also, in some apps, e.g. Notes, it's impossible to use as it puts the spaces in the wrong places. In Word, the spaces are correct but the cursor is in the wrong place. (All these issued may not be issues if the interface is Hebrew. I didn't try that).
I've purchased PDAC, and am waiting for them to send me the program, hopefully it will work for me. Eyron didn't work well so PDAC is my only hope.
EDIT: I uninstalled it and it seems to have uninstalled fine.
regarding the keyboard - look in the polaris thread.
I posted there (posts 400 and 401 I think) mappings for the Touch HD that I made. There are dot there as well as all the long-press keys.

TF3D isn't working at all.
I'm with 1.19 based cooked ROM, and TF3D won't load. It's saying "tap to launch TF3D", I do tap, but it won't load.
Any ideas?

Another update: after installation the phone doesn't work at all. No network at all times. Something is stuck.

Rhodium Dialer

Hi guys,
i am sorry if this is not the right place to post my question, but could someone explain if it is possible to extract the Rhodium dialer from the relevant ROM and covert it to a cab for installation on a stock ROM?
I appreciate any answers as i am new to this but would be interested in starting to play with ROMs.
Many thanks in advance.
just copy the needed files from the oem folder and use wince cab manager to build your cab,
if you know how to cook that is.
Nope, actually i have no idea...yet! But i am eager to start learning a bit more about cooking so if you have any good posts or articles please let me know.
Did someone try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521815 ?
Yeah, I tried it but it doesn't work. It keeps saying that the install is unsuccessful, even though I have sdkcerts installed. Not sure why it doesn't install.
I am usign this compatibility pack in my latest pure ROMs
(my ROMs are "pure" xperia, no based on blackstone or rhodium OEMs as others)
I have included this compatibiity pack in my latest ROM and I was able to successfuly run many Manila / TF3D2 apps in the SEX1 ROM
Well, I made a CAB out of my OEM package, please download it and install it, then try adding the rhodium dialer or other manila apps, and please report
If it works, it would be a great achievement for non-ROM flashing users of our community
.
EDIT
24 JUN 09
first test worked for some
second version up, hope this one works for ALL stock Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 ROMs
NOTICE THIS IS BASED ON WWE, but should be tested over other languages too
Here are some RHODIUM/TOPAZ/BLACKSTONE APPS I have CABbed should you want to test them too (mp3 trimmer, comm manager, vol control, voice rec, youtube... etc)

Gtrab, thanks so much.
Does the rhodium dialer work okay? I had Yota dialer but it slowed things down and had a few other limitations.
Hmmm, strange; I installed the compatibility pack then rhodium dialer, but still same error message (installation unsucessful). Anyone else have success?

Still not working on mine (X1a NAM R2A). Maybe it has something to do with previous install of Yota contacts? Anyway, thanks gtrab for your contribution.
gtrab: I WAS able to install HTC voice recorder, so this seems to be specific to the rhodium dialer, at least on my phone.

Lite Rom with Manila and without HTC keyboard(EZinput)

i am looking for Lite Rom with Manila and without HTC keyboard(EZinput), i am going to use FingerKeyboard instead them, i cant use to SIPchanger to fix that, because i need use 2 different Input software in there, i try many Rom, still cant find here, can anyone have solotion?
Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "light" but I use my own remake of panosha's Black Pearl in which EzInput and Opera are installed as cabs and therefore can be easily removed. Most OEM programs are removed at all (I prefer to install software so that I can upgrade or replace it without reflashing the whole ROM).
So if you are interested I can share it providing panosha doesn't mind. The problem is that I have no idea what he would think about making modifications of his work public.
you can get fingerkeyboard working on a rom with ezinput installed.
you just remove the regkeys pointing to ezinput
Oh Thanks reply, can share your ROM wtih me(with manila?), i am interesting with this, can u give me the download linking?

How can i input a chinese display and input in english ROM?

There is no need to now, simply download my oskitchen, click the applications you want and press build, it is really that easy
To be or not to be
Nice work. I am totally novice in this addiction of being a ROM chef. I have tried many custom ROMs but I am not totally satisfied. To cook a Spanish version of a ROM for a US T-mobile, which base ROM do you recommend? Thanks.

I would downlaod a standard spanish rom from the HTC site and create a new oskitchen, then import the rom. Once you have done that copy accross the nk.exe from my kitchen, that should then make it tmous compatable.
You could then copy accross all my customisations accross on to your kitchen and start from there! If you copy sense accross remember to remove it from the HTC leo packages folder!
re
hello GhostXSeries
which pack in the kitchen is responsible for the in Rome under SETTINGS -> TEXT LOCAL for local en-gb stands. I want to change the en-us. but I do not know where that is stored?
thank you

Thanks for your advise. Well, I will tell you what I have done:
Kitchen downloaded... easy
Spanish standard ROM downloaded (hard to find but finally done)
Create a new oskitchen (that means to open osKitchen and press the "new project" button, doesn't it?)
Import the ROM (the programs asks me always if I want to create a new folder, default_2 for example. What should I choose?)
Trying to make compatible with TMoUS... I can't find the NK.EXE application. Could you help me?
Finally, what does "copy across" mean? I suppose to use the applications that are included in your kitchen.
Thanks for your patience and your work. We all appreciate it.

Easiest way to do it, is to create a new folder and from my oskitchen copy accross oskitchen.exe and resources folder. Then open kitchen and import your rom.
Next go to oskitchen\sources\devices\htc leo\profiles\default\
delete folder nk.exe and copy the one from my kitchen into yours. This will make it tmous compatable.
Finally copy all the extra packages I created in to your kitchen and you should then be able to start building your own rom good luck man!

Are you talking about changing the default location from en-gb to en-us?

This is working for me: HKCU\MUI\CurLang=1034 (Spanish)

9. Change the Language of HTC Sense
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI\CurLang and change the value 409 to 408 (Hex) (for example Greek) or try another value for your language. You can find all Windows Locale Codes here: http://www.science.co.il/Language/Locale-Codes.asp
Please read this thread before changing language: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583878
Also this
HKCU\Software\HTC\manila\Locale=en-GB (maybe changing to en-US)
