HTC EZINPUT For Android - Touch CDMA Android Development

Does anyone have the .apk for donut?

you can try the HTC Sense keyboard, comes with compact and full qwerty
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/230585-post1.html

Ok for anyone using a donut build at 240 x 320 qvga resolution.
If you want a 90% working ezinput, or if your like me and only use it
for compact qwerty attached is the file for the .apk. Install and
enable touch input from locale and text settings. Also your density has
to be set to 120.
Attached is the android update to do that. (rename .zip to .tar)

Hi, does this work for 2.1? I got it to install but it force closes every time.

Hey, thanks for the .apk file. Question - Where do you put the androidupdate.tar? I already have one that I don't want to overide in my andboot folder.
HTC Touch (Vogue)
Using NoMoRootFs with SDCard
Theme - Buuf 1.2 (Ported From DeaDnuLL's Buuf theme)
Res - 320 x 240 (density=120)

Not sure, but I think it has to be in the andboot folder, you could just rename the old one something else?

try this one, might look a little choppy, but it works

Finally got this to work using 320 x 240 res! Looks a little choppy as stated by br125, but better than andriod keyboard (even if it's themed). Thank you mokind!

Put the androidupdate.tar file in the andboot folder and run haret
then press center button to launch installer and then go to androidupdate
and press ok and let it install. You'll be good, dont worry about the previous android update in ur andboot folder.

[VGA] Sense 2.1 Clock Editing Repository & Tutorial

So this thread will be great...I will tell you how to edit the the Sense 2.1 (2.5 coming soon!) clock files and we will make great clocks...I really want to do this because the process is fairly easy and I am quite sure you can do it better than me....if we get alot of users to contribute...we will all benefit!
Here is how you do it
Download and Extract Raw_Sense_2.1_Clock_Files.zip. In that file you will find 2 folders manila files & png files. The manila fies folder includes the raw manila files unedited for your use. The png files folder has the exact same files already converted into .png format.
Using the program of your choice edit/skin/theme those .png files!!! This is the fun part so.....be creative.
Save those files in .png format and make sure to save them all in the same folder.
Now we need to turn your awesome new clock (.png) files back into manila files. For this I use a tool called CFC GUI created by xda-member Chainfire. Big props to Chainfire for this tool! Below is a quick guide to accomplish this using CFC GUI...
Download and extract cfc-gui-only-0.60.35.zip
Run cfc_gui.exe (the program you just extracted)
When prompted select the folder you saved your .png files to.
From the CFC GUI menu select...Tools--->Import from PNGs
When prompted select a folder to save your manila files.
Zip up that folder and share it...includes pictures so I can update the 2nd post with all the files that have been created.
***Note you will probably need to uncheck "hide protected operating system files" from "folder options" on Vista (it will be similar on 7 or XP) to even be able to see manila files.
To the Contributers (aka Da' Clock Makers)
Let me be the first to thank you for your efforts...if you make a clock and post it in the thread I will put it here...and give you credit for contributing!!! My plan is to convert every clock into a cab file when time permits...
To Install .zip files

Unzip File
Copy the manila files to your phones \windows directory

Now it's more I'd like it to be. Looks good also in default bg.
Last nights test wasn't very transparent. Just B/W. Some might like that so I posted new one.

analog clock?
is it possible that we have analog clock for sense 2.1?
theboostman ever made analog clock for manila 2.1 though...
i turned tf3d 2.1 off, but still can't copy the files into windows directory.
access denied...
in the properties window, the files in /windows/ are marked read only, but the checkbox is greyed out, so i can't turn them back to writable.
i really want that transparent inverted clock.

New Droid X Multitouch keyboard

might be because of the phones screen resolution

Ya, i tried same. I pretty much already knew it wasnt going to work but gave it a shot as well. Just have to wait for someone to hack it up for our screen res and we should be good to go. I am just taking a shot in the dark and thinking that is the only reason why it wont work and could be wrong.
Mine installed just fine. I just cant get the keyboard to pull up
The Eris is mdpi where as the Droid is hdpi its a resolution thing...even if you got it to load the keys would be to big for your screen much like when the HTCIME first came out and everyone was jumping on the hi res version...

someone may port it...they're several pngs that have to be resized and edited etc porting any apk and or making a theme is a time intensive task so maybe if a themer or a dev feels like jumping on it...it may happen... if you want to tackle it yourself get you a trial copy of winRAR or another file reader and open a mdpi and the hdpi files and compare the res/drawables....thats a place to start I think.

It also has the resolution for each key specified in the decompiled .smali files inside classes.dex, so I think it's a big job to convert it. It's definitely beyond my ability. You'd need to use a tool like APK Manager 4.4 (search XDA for it) or manually decompile it with baksmali.
EDIT: I was wrong, the resolution in the .smali files is relative, so that's not stopping it from working.

Nope it wants to replace the latinime app thats why it wont install
Some Hero folks got it working as-is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710522#post6949662
It sounds like it only works with Vanilla-based ROMs since they have LatinIME in them (Android keyboard), and you have to push it to /system/app/LatinIME.apk (overwriting the Android keyboard) instead of installing it as a user app.

Most likely you can use Root Explorer or a similar app to move it into /system/app while the phone is on, then make sure you check its permissions (should be rw-r--r--), and then reboot for the change to take effect. Again, I haven't gotten this to work for me, but I'm on a Sense-based ROM. The successes reported were on Heros with their "darchdroid" ROM.
I have an idea for getting this to work with Sense, and I'm testing my theory right now. My theory is that we're missing its dependencies (in /system/lib), so I'm going to just flash the "Android Keyboard for Sense" from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5874235#post5874235
And then flash the new Droid X keyboard on top of that. Maybe that'll work.
UPDATE: YES! It works! Hang on, I'll post an update.zip to take care of installing it...
Can you post the flashable droid x keyboard for those on froyo or vanilla roms

It should already work on Vanilla ROMs. Just install the APK on the first page of this thread. The pre-requisite is that you have to have the Android stock keyboard (com.google.inputmethod.latin) installed, which you do.
The tricky part is a Sense ROM, because it doesn't have the Android keyboard.
Attached is a flashable ZIP to install the Droid X Multi-Touch Keyboard onto a Sense-based ROM (or any ROM without the Android stock keyboard).
Credit to itmustbejj for original keyboard.

[Q] Dialer One Themes

I think this is the most general place for a question like this but:
Can anyone theme the Dialer One app? If not suggest a replacement?
I've used Dialer One on my Android ported Windows HTC Diamond 2 and now on my Nexus One. I LOVE some of the themes for the stock android dialer but it lacking Dial-By-Name is a buzzkill.
Dialer One works AWESOME and I love it, but it just doesn't look right in Android (aka. not very elegant).
Short of spamming the developer, can it be done via the community like all of the other apps out there that get customized?

i would also like to have this ...
meanwhile i try it ...
it is possibl to extract the apk (via zip tools).
copy the apk file to your system, rename it to zip.
then extract the zip to a place on local system, then change the png files as you like, then save it ...
after you have done the changes, then you must open the zip directly via ex: 7zip, then drag (overwrite) the changed png files in the original folders..
then close the zip(apk) and rename it back to .apk
after that you must copy the apk file to /system/app (rooted and remounted as RW is needed).
then restart phone and it is done...
----------------
but i think, the devel should think about to make it more flexible to adjust an easier way for it .. because if there is an update, then you have todo the same again ...
(PLS: the theme itself is not bad on black, but it is not black, it is gray and it could be 50% darker, then i would be happy ..)
some tweaks
i have done a some modifications in black theme for mdpi devices for dialer one because i love this dialer olso made it system apk to enable it to clear missed call notifications. i changed only the black theme
if you like it download atched
if it-s not working copy only the res folder after extracting the apk end replace it to the folder of your working dialer one apk

[MOD]custom transition animation

really want to share with you guys
i searched for a while in desirehd forum, and didn't see a thread about custom transition animation
i guess a lot of us are searching for this =]
this is the original thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849963
but i guess a detail instruction is necessary: (succeded just now)
1. copy "framework-res.apk" (/system/framework/framework-res.apk) to your sdcard
2. open it via 7zip on ur PC
3. Drag the anim folder with the animations (which you can download in the original thread) into /res folder in your framework-res.apk. This will replace the files currently in /res/anim.
4. go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9190418
5. download the attachment - Blank Update.zip.zip
6. Extract "Blank Update.zip.zip" then Open up the update.zip with 7zip
7. Drag your modified framework-res.apk to the "framework" folder in 7zip to overwrite the existing blank framework-res file
8. Close update.zip (agree to any messages about updating the file)
9. Copy update.zip to your sdcard
10. Flash the update.zip via ClockworkMod
havefun ^^
Not working for me...
I'm on an htc sense rom and used UOT kitchen to cook update.zip.
By the way, do you know how to get keyboard display/hide animation on stock rom?
It is far easier just to use MetaMorph and the relevant zip files can be found all over the forum. I will post them if anyone wants them.
Regards.
Anyone knows what files are for Opening and Closing an app? I want to replace only those but don´t know what xmls I have to use!
well, That works for me.

[BOOTANIMATION] Sense LWP like! (MUST HAVE) :D [WVGA | HVGA]

Hello
Some1 made Q-thread about fancy Sense LWP like bootanimation. I was wondering how to extract images from LWP apk. Uncle Google didn't helped . I think it's impossible to get those images from apk. But in some way I get full animation It will be my sweet mystery how I do that. It was quite simple but sneaky.
I've made few versions. The clear one is most smooth coz I could resize images and stretch them in phone without losing sharpness. Also I couldn't make it as slow as LWP because of smooth but it still looks great IMO. You can try to change fps value. So, after long hours of work here it is:
(of course it's moving like original LWP)

Just rename file to bootanimation.zip and push it to data/local. There should be old bootanimation and you have to replace it. If there isn't you can try to search it in system/media or system/customize/resource.
you can push it via adb, android commander or with some explorer with access to root.
