Hey all.
For once, I upgraded to wm 5 without any problems, well so I say.
Theres a few things, that I could do with.
When I originally tried upgrading, I copied the cab files etc from the ext rom ( o2's ) and I fancy installing some of the fixes they provide, but each one is called customization tools, so each time i install one, it uninstalls the previous. Any way around this?
Also, the joypad between the green and red phone, when the dialpad is open ( pressing green phone ) I used to be able to press up to view my contacts and down to see my history. Anyway to fix this?
One last, do the developers out there. I developer software for the ppc and windows using .net and cf.net. I would like to access the sdk of the phone it's self, which I know you can use CFNET's own framework to access certain things. But if theres anything else, i'd appreciate a heads up on it?

hijacking my thread lol
The previous versions were complicated, you had to get device id's etc correct or your phone was useless. So I downgraded back to shipped rom and lost my ext rom auto install feature.
This one, basically backup, unlock your rom, copy a file to the correct folder and run the exe, after that it's some complicated button presses and your in.
A tip! don't set a password when it first asks you. I did this on the last rom, and it locked me out completely. Not sure if its been fixed.

I am skinning my Herald completely in a Touch theme. Now i installed some of the Touch/Kaiser dialpad's i found. But all of them come up really wrong, one has HTC background and see-through invisible buttons. The other has a complete HTC background with only the letters being in the wrong position.
How can i fix this? I only need the dial/pin pad to be skinned, then im done.

I just downloaded a file called Wizard_retouched_dialer.cab . I'll try it out and let you know if it works on my device. I'm using the official WM6 Rom now, but am going to flash the latest PDAVIET rom with Touch FLO soon... wich one are u using? Thnx
I have this problem too, when i installed the reTOUCHEDdialer and i reboot, nothing has changed, and the buttons in the telephone dialer are empty, this dialer works in PDAVIET's rom, why not in the orginal?

yep same problem here, i think it has something to do with the .tsk we are using. When you change theme it asks you to restart the device and it changes the dialer. I think if we used a theme that did not touch the dialer we could use any dialer we liked. Just a theory.
you have to deactivate previous skin from registry soft reset and done.

before or after i install the dialer?
probably the problem you describe occurs after you install your new dialer.
then when you change this value it works fine, if it doesnt then try re installing the new dialer with the value change,
caution! soft reset with the power button not reset from the hole otherwise tha value in the registry won't take effect!

i have tried looking for this key prior to installing the dialer however i dont have it. any other suggestions?
i wrote wrongly the key. se previous posts and add phone
i set enable to 0 then restarted, i then had the original standard wm6 dialer, i installed the wizard retouched dialer then restarted. The dialer then had the same problem as previously mentioned. So I then set the reg key back to 0 restarted and now I am back to the standard wm6 dialer.
In short this dosen't work, any other suggestions?

I tried theese settings long time ago, didnt work then (on wm5) and doesnt work on wm6 either

There is an solution for this. Just install the orginal rom from HTC. Do the setup. Press the softreset button before you get the HTC customizing screen, startup, install the reTOUCHdialer.cab and then reboot. Now the dialer is working again (you have prevented the customizer to install the other htc default dialer). Enjoy!

I have tried to do this procedure without sucess. The dialer doesn't work with a htc_touch theme
...i tried both - nothing helps!

What about using the dialer of Hermes or Wizard and adding the missing pics?
But, who knows wich files we need?
When I follow the procedure above, the buttons display ok, until a restart. But the background is still set to HTC's default. This background is set before customization routine runs.
@mr_frosty_xxl: The Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2.cab, the name gives it away I think this was done for the Wizard.
Im trying to restore the wm6 standard dialer.. how do i do this?

Ok guys, I have been neglecting p4350 too long now, so here is a brand new build, ported from latest release of kaiser, and this the wing guys dont have

Installed with no problem, apps and ppc running fast no overclock, camera work, office works, commgr works well, touch flo work, htc album is GREAT, window player works, my email works, i connected to my work outlook inbox. randon access dont work changing contacts in romsetting does nothing right now bout to install pocketcm, I don't see onenote present, the touch keyboard works sometime, keyboard symbol r messup i push a and get ?. if i come acroos any problems i'll post them but for now this work great.

How long does the flashing take? Mines been running for almost an hour..
Pulled the plug while flashing..
Then it bricked.... But, it was unbricked in the next 5 mins. Have to try flashing all over again.
follow instructions in the How To Upgrade.txt provided in the rom folder.
How to install your new OS for wing, follow this and you cant be wrong: (But im not sure since this is for Wing )
1. Make a full backup, or only the data necessary to you on SD a card or PC via Windows Mobile Device Center, or other
backup programs you might have.
1.b. Either hard reset your device, or flash the official RUU for your device, so that you have a clean base to flash on to.
2. Connect to ActiveSync\Windows Mobile Device Center, and run the connect without syncing the device.
3. Put your device in flightmode,this is done in CommManager. (radio off) If someone call, or sms you during flash, you will have errors.
4. Copy ASerg_Policies.CAB to your device and install it, THEN SOFT RESET, I say again SOFT RESET.
5. Start !UPGRADE_ROM.bat and wait, there will show nothing on your phone display, so dont worry, its normal. AND do not
use your device in any way, to be sure that no errors will happen, wait for the command promt tell you that you have
to hard reset. (If you dont know to soft and/or hard reset, dont bother to run the upgrade untill you have learned how to use your phone.
6. you should now have your new updatet rom.
-If you run into problems, and device is not booting, run the official RUU FROM HTC to restore your phone.

Hello all,
I've been encountering this problem for ages and still haven't find a solution to it yet. Basically, I regedit so that the phone doesn't show contacts from SIM. After i soft-reset, the registry also resets and it still shows the SIM contacts. I've tried it through PHM RegEdit and Advanced Config 3.3 but no luck. Can anyone help me please

Are you using a custom ROM or a stock ROM?
I'm using the uDK wm 6.5 21500 ROM
but this has occured with every ROM i've used so far, including Dutty V4 ROM

That's realled fd up! Have you tried cooking one of your own ROMs? Also, (this may sound bizarre) do you download the RUUs on the PC you flash it on? Do you flash with a VM? I used to download all of my SYS files on a Mac and it turned out when I copyed them to a Windows PC to cook and flash, ROMs came out screwy where no CAB files would install.
There are a ton of factors in this, but the best remedy is to try and download a stock ROM and download and flash that on device. That should clear up any corruption errors.
Just tired it no luck... =(. I use CustomRUU for my flashes. I have he unsigned HardSPL (can't remember which one) with the latest Blackstone radio and 2.04 ROM (uDK ROM) It has been happening since I first purchased it... its so frustrating. Only solution for me is to make a reg that loads at start up but i always need to press a dialog box to apply to regedit. Is there a way to auto reg on boot up of phone?

Did you try flashing from the SD?
Yep. tried it through the Bootloader and through CustomRUU. No lluck. Its quite frustrating beause it just keeps resetting. Other registries say though ie auto lock device in 5 seconds. That reg is perfect but its just the SIM wouldn't work.

Did you lock it again? You should uninstall HardSPL and put the SoftSPL back on. I do not know how to do this because I am on CDMA but stf will always be of help
Hi, if anyone could please help me i would be gratefull, i recently purchased a D2 but its already preloaded with WM6.5 rom version 2.53.405.5 (76952)WWE, But i really wanted WM6.1 as, among other things, i wanted to use the handwriting rec.
does anyone know what stock rom to reload? and where i can get it? sorry to ask such a basic question.

it seemed to work, all the correct messages displayed
but......
now all that happens is it turns on, shows the touch diamond2 screen, then resets
it has the following text in red in the lower left hand corner

and a soft reset, and another hard reset to be sure,
i searched the forum but couldn't find any reference to that type of error either.
any ideas on how to retrieve it from paperweight mode?
Download stock ROM for your region
Unpack it with WinRar or TotalCMD
Rename RUU_signed.nbh to topaimg.nbh
Copy topaimg.nbh on your SD card
Enter bootloader (hold volume down and turn on phone) and follow instructions
edit:I guess for wm 6.1 you need lower version of SSPL

my phone is no longer a brick however i am back to square 1 in that i still have wm6.5, and i want 6.1
ive tried to reflash with the older rom fighter7139 suggested

but it gives me the same rebooting error.
any ideas why wont the older rom work on my phone? or if theres an alternative to that rom ?

I've loaded hardspl 1.83 and extracted the file RUU_signed.nbh and renamed it to topaimg.nbhand,
i moved it to the SD card, reflashed the phone with the 6.1 rom,
but i get the same error.
any idea on what rom i should use to update from?
or what stock spl i'd need to run this rom's version of 6.1 ?

maybe i don't even need 6.1, all i want to do is to fix two things -
1) make the sms messaging work like on the old htc devices ie diamond or tytn ie not use htc messaging
2) add handwriting recognition
- would also be nice to have the taskmanger icon, the battery icon and the original windows start menu back too, but im not dependent on them....
so i guess any rom would do that allows these functions, any help or info on this would be much appriciated

thanks for that, however that was the first thing i tried, i saw the download for the handwriting ap just after i got the phone, not knowing it didnt have it when i swapped from my diamond,
the thing is the update only works on certian AP version control builds -
the message on the site is -
Note: AP version control -> The criterion will pass if the Touch Input for Pocket is equal to Version 2.1 (Build1919.1320), or lower.
mines a higer version, which i assumed originally had to do with it being wm6.5 not 6.1,
- i have tried downloading and installing anyway but it wont load.
does anyone know how to get this update to load, or how to change the AP version control back to a lower version ?????

The handwriting SIP is likey hidden.
There is a reg edit to unhide, just search SIP Reg Edit and you should find it.
If I recall it was under the WM general tweaks.
thanks for that, i got the letter and block rec working, but still not the transcriber the reg key shows it should be showing, but i think the actual file may not be there,
fixed after changing the reg, and downloading the update, you then need this transcriber cab

Any luck finding a way to get 6.1 working on this phone? I just bought the Pure from AT&T as a replacement for my LG Incite that had 6.1 on it. So far I can't stand 6.5 at all. My main beef is with IE, I really like the one on my Incite vs. this one. And my other problem is with the start menu, I also prefer the drop-down style in 6.1.

Start here.
Once you unlock your phone, you can flash to anything you want.
6.5 is hands down better than 6.1, there are 6.5.219xx builds that have the drop down start menu.
