Kaiser doesn't send mute command to HF while giving navigation command :-( - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

This is a problem for which I've spent a lot of time.
I purchased two THB Bury HF kits for my cars and the cradles for them.
Later I found out that the navigation commands (TomTom) are not audible through the HF kit.
However, I purchased P3300 (Artemis?) to my wife and Bury cradle for it. It does its work very well. Both calls and navigation commands work through the HF kit.
I've written several e-mails to THB Bury and asked their opinion why my wife's phone if working OK with Bury's HF (the navigation commands) and mine is not.
Today I got fed up because they didn't reply to my e-mails and I gave them a phone call.
They explained me that Kaiser is not able to mute the HF signal while giving the navigation commands but P3300 is able to do that because "it's an older phone model". I dunno whether they told me the truth so therefore I'd like to ask from all of you software wizards:
Is there a software update/upgrade for Kaiser which would enable to mute the HF signal before giving the navigation command? Any help will be highly appreciated!

Hi,
do you tried also a buttom to call with voice command application or a phone call ?
I've a HTC S100 and the sound is well but it's very difficult to start a voice commande or to recall last call because seem that the function "hand free" sometime is lose.
Sorry for my poor English !

I have the same problem with my handsfree headsets an Tytn II (kaiser):
i have a motorola H700 and a Scalarider headset for helmets.
They are bot NON-ADP and thyey support handsfree.
Sometimes the button on them stop working and I can't do voice dialing with Voice command neither repeat last call.
They appear as connected and If I manually call a number they work.
To get the button works again I have to restart the phone.
Maybe a fault in the microsoft bluetooth stack?
Also: my Motorola H700 has a flip and when you open it the headset turn on and get connected.
You should be able to answer phone calls by opening the flip.
Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't connect if I open it while the phone is ringing and in that case I have to restart bluetooth connection to make it work again.
Microsoft or HTC should check end improve bluetooth stack!
Any hack around?
Can't we put the broadcom instead of microsoft stack on kaiser?
I wrote to HTC Support about this problem and they answered :
"Customer email address:XXXXXXXXXX
Good Afternoon,
The multi function button is the one small button with the led light in, not the big play/pause button.
If you try the other button, it should work.

Amazing answer!
Are they idiot?
I'll write them too,
I hope someone cleverer will read the my mail
and suggest the bug to the technical stuff.
I have a motorola H350 and have been experiencing the same problems. It's driving me mad. The problem makes the use of the hands free totally useless as it seems to stop working at the drop of a hat.
What I've found so far.
To get it working you need to turn on the ear piece.
Then turn on the bluetooth on the phone.
If you do this any other way it doesn't work. Once it's working you may or may not be able to hang up with the button. If that's the case it won't answer with the button either.
Once it's working it seems to work ok till either the headset or the phone's bluetooth is turned off.
Voice dial will not fire up until the main procedure if followed and sometimes it takes several tries.
I was wondering if this was something to do with the motorola but seemingly it's to do with the stack so getting another device isn't going to help I guess.
The bluetooth worked perfectly on the Hermes but immediately I got the Kaiser one thing alerted me to the fact that something was different.
With the Hermes, as soon as I turned on the bluetooth and the earpiece the phone would alert me to the fact that the motorola wanted to connect.
With the Kaiser nothing, even when I searched for a device. I had to find out how to put the earpiece into search mode before it would find it.
Very flakey and very disappointing. I hope someone finds a fix for this.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
I've got an H700 and Jawbone. I do notice more crackle type sounds and lower volume on both using Kaiser compared to my 8525. The H700 connects within 1-2 seconds when opening it's flip and I have noticed that on occasion, if I walk away from the phone (eg. phone on desk) the headset may not reconnect when I return. The Jawbone has been fairly good at connecting and staying functional at all times but the volume is lower as noted by many people.
I would say that the stack overall is better than the 8525's for all the devices I've tried (3 headsets, 2 Laptops, 1 Garmin Streetpilot with BT Phone interface)
I am also losing the Voice speed dial & redial button from time to time. It also worked that way with my hermes, so I kinda get used to it...
I am now wondering if it is related to my BT earpiece (nokia bh-200 or something like this) of if it is the BT stack which has never been really working on all the device I could test (hermes, trinity, kaiser).
I allmost never had issue recieving call (I don't recieve much call while using the BT earpiece) but it is sometime impossible to initiate a call through the BT earpiece.
The simplest way for me to lose the voice recognition is to:
-Start BT on the phone
-Start BT earpiece
Phone recognize the earpiece, everything is fine
-Restart the phone
Phone & BT reconnect, but voice recognition & redial are gone
I would really appreciate of some of you could test my little procedure and report if it works of not. If it is working for some other BT earpiece I may change mine and get rid of this eternal annoying issue.
Thanks
Jabra BT500
I have the Jabra BT500 and same problem with the TyTn II.
The earpiece can't initiate a voice call...
Looks like HTC (or Windows), starts to deliver ROMs like Mr. Bill Gates does with his M$ crap...
If someone find a solution for this Bluetooth problem, please post it!!!!
Thanks a lot,
Kaiser and Moto H700 just do not work together
I also have a problem with the Kaiser and a Moto H700. The M700 button stops working randomly, the BT connection sometimes disconnect during the call at will.
I can still use H700 successfully with my old Nokia 6680, so the problem clearly is in the Kaisers BT stack.
I’ve made the BT update that HTC posted just recently for TyTN II, but it had no effect.
Fortunately, I have my old Moto H500. This one is working OK with the Kaiser, but. Like it was pointed here before me, the only way to get it working you need to turn on the ear piece. Then turn on the Bluetooth on the phone.
In case if the Bluetooth connection was disrupted for some reason, the only way to make it work is again swath Kaiser BT off then turn on the ear piece and switch on the TyTNs BT.
The Kaiser’s BT stack is not good also connecting with a PC, the connection is just not stable.
Just wanted to chime in and say I've had the exact same problems with my Tilt and Motorola H700 as various people have described here. I posted about it on the AT&T forum too, and no one there has any working solution either, AFAIK. I too tried the "fix" from HTC, and to no avail.
This is a pretty big disappointment for me; I love my Tilt, but Bluetooth is not new technology, and it's really inconvenient that it works so poorly on this phone.
Motorola headsets seem to have a problem with this device. I had trouble getting my H500 to connect and the voice button to work. Once I reset the phone when the headset was on and it wouldn't connect. I tried deleting and re-pairing. It took another reset to get it back. Fortunately I don't use that headset anymore.

The same problem.
But this time with the Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980.
I also put the "fix" from HTC, I gave them back and they change them with another brand new Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980, but the problem exists.

I just bought the same headset... cant get it work with the TyTN II - Kaiser but pairs without any problem with my TyTN I - Hermes... clearly it is the BT Stack
Way beyond my abilities, but cant the BT stack on Hermes be cooked into a rom for the Kaiser ?
I have a Motorola HT820 and a Motorola S9 both devices are working flawless with the kaiser.
Now i own a motorola S705 too , with this device my kaiser suddenly turn the bluetooth off (

Bluetooth & BMW car kit

I'm having a problem with the bluetooth on the HTC with the bmw car kit (E46, 2004). It auto connects fine every time, but I can only make or receive 1 call. After that call has ended, it still claims it is connected - I can browse the phone book, but when the next call comes in it will ring through the car kit, but as soon as I answer it the audio comes out of the phone, not the car kit. The same happens if I initiate the call instead of receive.
It's not the car kit, it has worked flawlessly with previous phones (Sendo, N80) I just have a problem with this one. It happened with the stock rom (voda UK), and all versions of Dutty's.
Anyone any ideas?
Have you tried flashing a different radio?
I also had a weird BT problem and flashing a new radio helped.
Hi
How are you answering the incoming call?
My boss has a similar car to yours with BMW proffesional bluetooth and is running an HTC S710 which works perfectly.
I have found the although you are connected to handsfree if you answer the call on the handset and not via the bluetoooth controls then it will push the audio through the handset not the handsfree.
therefore are you answering the 2nd or 3rd incoming call on the handset or the handsfree?
I might be able to test my vodafone v1615 on this car kit during the week.
Tom
Hello,
I also have a BMW X3 E86 from 2004 with a BMW Bluetooth Kit ( I believe is the some as yours... ) and my Kaiser works great without any problems.
My Kaiser Radio version is: 1.27.12.11
I hope this can help you troubleshooting your problem!
pt_t830
well i have a Z4 ´06 and all work fine...to be honest i haven`t try it after last BMW nav (Professional) upgrade to V.29 but before this all was OK...Otherwise there was no possimility to use it with a new N or E Nokia
Bluetooth BMW
Try Jetware handsfree extension, works on BMW X3 and HTC Kaiser

Thanks for the hotfix link, unfortunately I forgot to mention I had already tried it and it didn't work.
I have radio version 1.27.21.11, same as you pt_t830.
I'll try that Jetware handsfree extension..

I have tried it both ways, but it makes no difference whether it is answered via the button on the steering wheel, the centre console or the phone - the audio will always come out the phone, not the car kit on the 2nd call. It does turn off the audio on the radio though, and it always rings through the car kit.
Even if the call is initiated from the car kit by browsing the phone book and dialling, no sound will come out the car kit - and then I realise it has already rung but the ringing tone has come out the phone and the other person has answered!
I had similar problems on my E46 M3. I have put jetware on and it's perfect now. I even get a mail indicator on the sat nav when I receive an SMS, never got that before!

First post - THB Bury problem

Hi,
This is my first post so please be easy on me
I am an ICT Engineer and I am having problems with one of my customers HTC Kaiser (re-badged as Orange TyTN II).
He has an THB Bury cradle. The Kaiser has TomTom installed (Orginal disc version 6 navigator), but when the phone is docked in the cradle it goes to Cra Kit profilr and he gets no sound from TomTom.
I have changed the profile, but still no sound from TomTom. I have checked the cradle it it works fine apart no sound for sat nav.
I have searched for hours on loads of forums to find a fix for this i.e. new ROM from Orange or patch from THB, but can't find anything.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix i.e. registry alternation.
Is there anything within the TomTom settings for this.
It might be that this is the way it will work, afterall you do not want the TomTom coming out over the audio of the telephone call.
Thanks for the reply.
We used to use the Orange SPV M2000 (HTC BlueAngel) with TomTom using the same hands free kit (different cradle obviously) and never had a problem. The sat nav audio would work as normal, but when a call came in the sat nav would cut out until the call had finished.
I have have been through the TomTom settings (very limited) and cannot see anyway of changing the audio on it.
It seems more like a HTC Kaiser problem rather than TomTom or the cradle, because it worked fine with a BlueAngle.
Just found this on a THB Bury re-sellers site: -
"Please note: When the Phone is put into the cradle, the Phone will immediately go into car kit profile, which means the external speaker will be disabled [loss of sound for the Sat Nav directions]"
Is the registry hack to stop this happening?
Have you tried using the tomtom and checking there is audio working ok without putting it in the cradle?
Yep. TomTom works absolutly fine out of the cradle. I have even bought a new cradle to check if the original cradle was defect, but still no sound.
To summarise: -
TomTom audio working fine out of THB Bury HFK
TomTom stops working when in THB Bury HFK (enters Car Kit Profle)
Could you not move the handsfree cradle to maybe a vent mount solution so that when you are in the car you can view the TomTom directions instead of hearing them?
Personally I would find yor situation ideal as I hate SatNav voice commands and prefer to navigate from the map.
I got a response from THB Bury about this problem:
"Dear Alistair, many thanks for your enquiry regarding our Bury product range.
The Navigationcommand didn´t run over the carkit, because the Navigationsoftware got no software for muting.
Best regards
Dean Taylor
--Bury-Infoline-- "
Not really what I needed so.....
Does anyone know either how to doctor the USB connector so that it doesn't cause the phone to switch to 'car mode' OR a registry/software fix which stops the TnTY/Stellar from muting its internal speaker when in 'Car' mode?
Failing that I need a new car kit which, holds the phone, charges it, provides hands free phone service, allows TT6 audio instructions through and doesn't blow the USB port. Just like the THB Bury 'Universal' kit should do.
Any recommendations? Alistair

Problems with Parrot Rhythm N' Blue handsfree kit

I purchased a little while ago the Rhythm N' Blue handsfree & MP3 car kit from Parrot. The product supposed to be 100% BT compatible as declared on Parrots' website.
Working with HTC Kaiser original ROM, I have many problems such as: while trying to make a phone call using the Kaiser, the Kaiser seems to be connected to the carkit, the call is actually made, but neither I nor the other party can hear anything. When many calls come in, I am trying to answer, with no use. Many times I am getting "Connection lost" message on the Rhythm N' Blue screen, and so on.
I was using before Jabra BT headset, with 0 problems.
I was trying to contact Parrot support, but they are having a lousy & poor support. All they wrote was "The HTC Kaiser isn't compatible with the Parrot car radio". I Tried to ask them for a future firmware upgrade. They didn't bother to reply. Wrote them again... they just wrote "The answer is similar to the one given to you previously. One cannot use the Parrot car radio with the HTC Kaiser".
Regardless of their lousy service, whose fault is it the Kaiser or the Parrot handsfree kit?
Assuming they will not help, any options to remedy that problem?
Thanks.
I asked my car kit installer what he thought of changing my CK3100 to the Rhythm N'Blue.
He advised against as he has had problems with many types of phones and refuses to fit until Parrot bring out an update.

Andrew
Unfortunatelly it seems that Parrot don't give a damn about those problems. They choose to ignore it and never answer it. No update seems to be on it's way.
If I knew it before, I would never buy that product.
Amir.
Oops
Sorry I dived in when you said MP3 and my man was refering to the CK6100.
He has had compatability problems with your kit though.
This UK forum lists a few http://www.parrot.com/forums/english/viewforum.php?id=10

If I would have seen those remarks there inthe forum, I would never buy the RNB.
It seems that they treat bad all of their customers.

X7510 Bluetooth always on Stereo mode, not switching to headset mode for calls

Hey guys, i need some help to figure this one out
I have many BT headsets:
- Moto HT820 (the best)
- Jabra BT8010 (perfect for when you need to look more professional single sided, or both sides when no longer dealing with clients )
- Sony HBH-DS970
They all work great on my Palm Treo (Zero problem), however on the X7510 they all seems to be stuck in the AD2P mode, so when i try to make a phone call, or pick up an incoming call, it doesn't load the headset profile.
If i go into the BT stack, after pairing for all of them, they have both of the Check Boxes selected:
- Stereo
- Headset
It is very annoying having to stop the music manually, and remove the headset to answer the phone in speaker mode.
specially when you are on a bike, and both hands are busy, staying alive in the crazy traffic zipping in and out, trying to avoid being hit by a truck or something, LOL
well since no one cared to help, i just wanted to let anyone know the problem has been fixed already.
How did you fixed it ?
You know, sometimes nobody knows the answer! Some folks might even thank you for telling them what the solution turned out to be. I have a pair of Motorola HT 820's that I normally only use with my desktop but it would be nice to know how to properly pair them for dual use on my X7501 which has only worked that way sporadically.
Thanking you in advance,
Brad Miter
