[ACC] Sprint Hero Holster - Hero CDMA Accessories

Just thought I would let anyone know who is interested in a holster for a hero that I found and purchased one on ebay for 3.89 with free shipping. I have recieved the holster and it seems to be a very nice holster and for that price you cant beat it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200434240103&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I've used these for my last 2 phones.
http://www.newyorkcellphone.com/home/gladiator.html

PLEASE DON'T EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER carry your phone screen-out. I have a full-coverage holster and I still carry the phone screen-in (towards my body). It takes precious little to destroy a screen during daily usage.

Really really stupid idea for a holster.

yea I wish it went the other way but for 3 bucks it will do. I only really use it at work and I have a zagg on it. Im waiting for the otterbox defender series to come out so this was cheap solution tell then.

Expensive but awesome:

There is a version to fit with the Innocase II also. The best case there is, imo.
The durable spring clip on our Spring Clip Holster holds your device securely in place, and then lifts for quick access. Both the felt liner and the face-in design protect your screen from scratches and exposure to outside elements. This holster can be worn in any one of seven different positions, ranging between horizontal and vertical.
- Unique spring clip lifts for quick access and easy removal
- Seidio's signature soft touch coating provides a better feel and added grip
- Adjustable swivel belt clip with 7 rotating angles
- Felt liner and face-in design protect your phone from outside elements
- Easy access to connectors and function keys
- Designed to hold your bare device

yeah i think the screen facin out is a horrible thing

Personally, I like the Seidio Innocase Holster/Case.
http://www.seidio.com/holster.html
Carries the phone securely, face in, locks in place if you wish. Rotating belt clip. Ultra Thin hard case. Easily removable from phone.
The hard case is two sliding pieces that lock together. Not bulky but protects the phone just fine. Just separate the case by pushing the release on back, slide the bottom half off the phone if you use a stand up charger. Slide the top off and then the phone back to remove the battery if you wish.
Great idea, very easy to use, great phone housing protection and positive lock for phone. User selectable locking tab.
Bought two, one for me and the Mrs., we love em.

Boxwave Holster
Boxwave makes a great face-in holster...
I use mine daily...
just google boxwave...

I highly recommend that you get the Otterbox Commuter. I own the Innocase II and Innocase Active and the Otterbox Commuter stands above both. The Innocase II is nice if you don't care as much about durability or aesthetics, the Active is a damn good improvement over the Innocase II and provides a lot more protection and looks nice, but the buttons are difficult to push. The Commuter is very aesthetically pleasing, much more durable than any case I've held before, not noticeably thicker compared to the Active, and the buttons are so much easier to push. I used the Innocase II for ~3 months, the Active for ~4 months, and just got the Commuter by mail. I'm loving every bit of it.
Personally, the best case I've had (I've had the Innocase II as well) has been the black glossy silicone case I purchased from Verizon. It fits like a glove, looks clean and stylish, gives adequate protection to the camera, and is a bit raised on the front so the screen it protected from a fall or from a rough surface.
It's also available in a couple other colors I believe.
I used a coupon and got it 15% off for about $15 if my memory is correct.
I really was not happy with the Innocase AT ALL. Seidio's quality is progressively decreasing. Also, after a few drops, the random areas of the surface of the case start to peel off, making it ugly and removing any uniformity that existed before.
Note this was after I had to order a replacement from Seidio due to a design flaw in their product. The replacement I received was still flawed. They're just not reliable.
Just got the otterbox defender series, LOVE it

I agree 100% with you here. My fiancee has gone through about six cases for her Incredible and she keeps coming back to the red TPU case sold by Verizon.
I recently changed to the same black glossy TPU case you mentioned. I will never buy another type of case again. It fits tight and looks awesome!

yea i used the innocase II and it just scratched the bezel of the phone. i was excited when i read the description of the case because it said it was "lined" with a soft fabric so dirt wouldn't scratch the phone, but they only lined the back of it and not the sides. so ultimately dirt got underneath and messed up the phone.
after i realized that, i switched to the verizon case i originally bought. on one, i cut out the volume and power buttons so u were touching them directly. worked good, but my cutting wasn't as smooth as i liked so snatched my sisters black case and use that one now.

I couldn't agree with him more, except that I bought the Rugged Combo case (which gives me the holster for the Surface II and the Rugged case and holster).
The first case I used was the Innocase II Surface. I liked it for the most part. The back pieces didn't match up quite perfectly, but it was barely noticeable and not a problem at all. My main problem was that it was so tight (considering I have a slightly thicker 1500 battery) that it would put a lot of stress on my screen protector when sliding it on or off. It eventually started to peel the top left corner off, and you know those things, once they start peeling off there's no stopping it.
I heard really good things about the Otterbox Commuter so I went ahead and ordered one of those and I'm thinking it was a mistake now. The usb port cover does not stay in. The hard outer shell is way to slippery for safety. For the amount of thickness added you would expect to be holding a phone with an exteded battery or maybe one from 3 years ago. Some people like a little bit more thickness to their phone, and were that the only issue I would probably be pretty happy with it, but all three of these things together make it seem like I got less than I expected. The inside silicone layer feels like it adds a lot of shock protection but I take pretty good care of my phones and rarely drop them. My next door neighbour has an Otterbox Commuter for his iPhone 3GS and it is worlds better. The hard shell covers all 4 sides, all the plugs fit in, and it conforms to the shape of the phone. Why they wouldn't mold this case around the shape of the phone and instead opt to make it more brick like is beyond me.
I think I'm going to sand down some parts on my old Innocase II Surface and try it back out again.
I use a Red HTC silicone glove. Fits very snug, bought it from best buy after trading in some old ass games, they still take xbox games unlike gamestop. Cost $30 but minus the $24 trading in 6 games. $6.... best buy takes trades for almost every electronic now...

nothing competes with seidio innocase II... nothing
Yeah, I got a Seidio Innocase as well. Fits very well and has protected my phone properly from 2 drops so far. Feels great and doesn't feel like it adds too much bulk or weight. You should get it too.!
Look up Case-Mate Tough Case. Double layer protection is the best and it looks better than any of the other ones.

I bought an Otterbox defender series case. It's nice but not worth the money. I'll buy another Otterbox case for my next phone but may try the commuter series case instead.

Same here. Granted...this is my 1st and only case I have for my Inc, I like the look and feel of the vzm silicone/rubber case. I may try an otterbox though.
For the price.. go with my el cheapo case in my sig!
I've used the Otterbox Commuter ever since it came out and I love it. Thinking about upgrading to the Defender series though but I think it may add too much bulk. I didn't have a back door for my phone for over a month and my otterbox held my phone together literally. It is WELL worth the price. I've dropped this phone hard enough to smash it into pieces and thank god i had an otterbox on it that prevented that, plus if they break it's a free replacement
I bought a cheap, hard-rubbery case from Verizon at my local store. It works great, but I honestly hardly ever use it. I'm surprised my phone still works. I drop it at least 3 times a week from decent heights (out of my truck onto asphalt or from my lap to the tile floor).
Dincs are surprisingly very durable.
I do however have a screen protector.

I forget the exact price of a DInc but it's somewhere between $300-$400. spending $40-$50 on an Otterbox that will keep it from breaking for sure is worth it, not to mention Otterbox will replace the cover if it breaks and pay for your phone too I think. Just my opinion. I am not risking my phone with a cheap Verizon cover.

SEIDIO Samsung Focus case and holster

I have been looking for a good case & holster for my Samsung Focus for a while now. Something that doesn’t bulk up my phone but gives it a decent protection. Looks like SEIDIO just released their Innocase Surface line for Samsung focus. You can order just the case or case holster combo.
I cant post the link but you should be able to find seidioonline easily...
The Innocase Surface looks really good, plus it has the soft touch, not glossy smudgy plastic. Reminds me of the inCase slider for the old iPhone. Think I might givge it a shot, thanks for the post
I was looking at their site a week or so ago and the case and holster really intrigue me. If anyone gets one please post impressions. I should hopefully be getting my Focus in the next 3 or 4 weeks (whenever the Alltel ATT transition finally happens in my area) and I'm undecided on what case I want to get for it.

Thanks for this link - this is the first case that looks decent to me. I ordered one. Will take pictures when it arrives next week.
Just ordered the case and clip.
Seidio Innocase Combo received today
Got my Seidio Innocase combo today and Im pretty happy with it. Both the cover and holster are hard plastic, not really the ideal for grip, especially compared to the CaseMate but having the holster/cover combo makes up for it.
The cover comes in two pieces, and snap together around the Focus. While I could see the snaps wearing after repeated install/removal, the initial install was secure and the fit is excellent. All button and port openings are easily accessible. The case is also very light and not as bulky as the alternatives I have seen. I'll try to post some pics later this evening.
T.J.
Great case & holster combo.
Got one Seidio innocase & holster combo so far. It is da bomb. Secure enough that I'm cancelling the $5/mo protection racket contract on the innocased/holstered phone.
Split case is kinda wierd: splits between big back & very small front pieces. Snaps together fairly well, still seems a bit odd but no trouble so far with the snapped-together package staying together.
Holster is truly secure. Big heavy latch and strong spring. This feels more like my older Seidio BB holster. The Seidio iPhone 4 holster has a smaller latch & weaker spring, has popped the phone out daily in the last week or so (was fine for the first few months). This Focus holster feels like it will stay strong for years, like the BB holster which outlasted 2 BB's.
Overall bulk is fine, rides on belt excellent, handles stuff like seatbelts and general bumps of everyday life just fine. The iPhone 4 holster does ok too but tends to pop the phone out especially around seatbelts.
It would be nice if Seidio made a case for the bare phone as the Focus doesn't really need an innocase at all. But I can't say the added bulk of the innocase & holster amounts to much, or makes the phone any less usable.
Once the new colors come out, we'll be getting these combos for all 3 of our Focii.

Do you think the soft body gloves that many of us have would fit into the holster? I like to use extra batteries and take my soft, thin case off to change the battery so don't want the innocase. Your thoughts?
Is anyone willing to take a few photos of their phone in one of these cases for those of us who're still on the fence about cases for the Focus?
Does this case allow the phone to lie down flat on something like a desk? right now when i tap the screen the phone tilts to one side due to the camera and I'm looking for something that mitigates that and allows it to lie flat
Pictures here?

Seriously though - why buy this 30 case when you can just go on email and see hundreds of the same style cases for the Focus. I bought one a few weeks ago... it's great and was only $5.00
I HAVE ONE OF THESE CASE AND HOLSTER, THEY ARE A PERFECT FIT AND IT FITS THE HOLSTER PERFECTLY. i LOVE THIS SETUP.

Looking for a very slimline case

Currently, I have a Body Glove on my Inc, and I'm really looking to find a more slim fit case. Mainly I need something that will protect the camera, but keep the slimness of the phone there.
I was thinking of the Incipio Feather, or the Case Mate Barely There...but I can't find any reviews on them.
Thanks guys
I have the Incipio Feather and let me tell you it is definitely the slimmest I've ever seen. It gives VERY little protection except for maybe preventing the back and two sides from scratches. You absolutely cannot lay the phone face down since it doesn't extend up past the glass. I actually bought one just to make a car mount with it. I glued a Garmin windshield mount onto to back of it and it works really really well for this, since the phone can be inserted / removed from the Feather quite easily, yet it is secure. When I get into the car I just snap it in and go!
If it's minimal you want go for the Feather. I currently use the Seidio Innocase II Surface when I'm outside the car, and the quality / protection is great while still being not bulky. I've tried about 5 or 6 and settled on the Innocase.
Cheers
+1 for the Seidio Innocase II. I've had mine for about a week now and I really like it. It's only 1.1 mm thick. Might be just what you're looking for.
Hmm, I had Seidio for my Storm, but that was a few years ago. The case ended up breaking on me. It was the Innocase 360. How is the build quality of the Innocase 2?
I have the Innocase II and it scratched up the border of my phone. Pretty dumb case, if you ask me.
Seidio HTC Droid Incredible ADR6300 Innocase II Surface...has been an awesome case for me as well...good luck
I'm using the Innocase II also. It's been a great case so far. Not perfect, but it's slim and seems to protect my phone pretty well. I'd love an Otterbox that was this thin somehow.
my speck case from verizon came in, slim and protects the camera, and is raised about .1 mm so you can lay the screen down..no bulk.

Wow...I never knew those existed!
I have the Case-Mate "Barely There" case and I love it. I spent like 2 months being indecisive because I wanted something that wouldn't make my phone bulky while still providing protection without shattering like some thin cases (I've dropped it 2 or three times now and its protected my phone every time). I also wanted a decent amount of grip on the case but not to the point where it grabs the inside of my pocket like some gel cases. It also sits almost perfectly flush with the camera lens in the back, providing some protection from the glass being the first thing to hit a surface every time you put the phone down.
The Incipio Feather case looks almost identical to the barely there case but people seem less confident in it's ability to actually protect the phone if it is dropped..
I've also heard a lot of people complain about the Innocase's scratching their phone, which seems counter productive...
Just my two cents considering you seem to want the same features I wanted in a case.
I use the Innocase, and I dropped my phone on the street, and it landed on the very corner of the phone. Figured it was a goner but it actually did a great job. Love the thin case.
Wow! Case-Mate looks amazing!! I might buy it
I've got the Seidio Active and i love it. Dropped the phone tons and not a scratch. Protects the camera lens well too.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSR6HDDN-BK
Big +1 for the Innocase Surface. Very solid, great soft touch exterior and nice padding inside. Not the absolute thinnest but adds very little bulk and has a very low profile bezel around the screen, unlike some cases which make it hard to hit buttons near the edge of the screen.
I previously had the Rocketfish case that Best Buy pushes on everyone. Got it thrown in for free with the phone after bullying the rep into throwing in some freebies. Glad I didn't pay for it! The soft touch coating started to peel off after about ten days, one edge kept coming open and when I did drop the phone just once, the case completely popped off. Complete $hit if you ask me.

Innocase surface here too....I agree it is the best combination of low profile/good protection I have seen. It doesn't interfere with wiping near the screen edge at all, but keeps the screen from touching a surface if u lay it down face down. Kinda feels like the actual incredible to the touch as well. I did a ton of research and am very happy. Thanks to everyone in this forum - ur input was super helpful in researching a case.

Seidio Surface Case on Amazon

They have these on Amazon for $10 less than the Seidio site. The case and clip combo, edited cause I didn't know if people may have thought it was just the case. Just ordered the black one. I was going to wait for the cheaper platinum branded one from Best Buy but it still shows backordered on their site. I had the same case for my Captivate and Inspire and really liked it. If you need a belt clip this is a great option.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006671MRG/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
My seidio active just came in from amazon, love it, although I had to pay the full 30.
pics/review/thoughts of your active and surface cases?
I'm looking for something with at least decent drop protection. Looks like Otterbox commuter fits the bill but I thought the active looked a little snazzier.
Here's the best photos I could manage with my old LG Optimus Get ready for the long blocks of text.
Lots of pros: Case fits perfectly along with exoskeleton, no need to worry about it being loose. Makes the phone a lot easier to grip. I no longer have problems gripping the phone, in whatever position I may be standing/lying. Case made of top notch material. Exoskeleton is made to absorb shock when the phone is dropped on its corners and it seems like it does just that.
Camera is not impacted by the case at all, or at least to the point where I cant tell. Everything is cut perfectly, both on the inner shell and outer shell. Doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone itself.
Have a problem with accidently pushing the volume buttons? Not anymore. The soft inner case is solid enough so that the volume buttons/power button (which are covered) only get pressed when you want to.
Loved the kickstand the first time I tried it. I believe it was made to lock in one position. At first, I thought it was dumb that they made the kickstand open so that the charger port was pointed down towards the table but you can just flip the phone 180 degrees and use the kickstand that way too! Should be all the viewing angles you need.
Cons: The hard exterior exoskeleton does not cover the top and bottom of the soft case. I did not get the holster with it so I do not know how the holster will affect the softer plastic but it seems extremely durable. Not sure how long the kickstand will last but seems well built so hopefully the entire lifespan of my phone. Another con is that the kickstand juts out of the case a millimeter or two so that when you have the phone flat on a table, it doesnt sit flat on its back.
Does attract a bit of lint but hardly noticeable unless under bright lights, which is how I took the pictures
Overall, very nice and durable case. Wish it was a bit cheaper than 30 dollars so if you can snag a sale, good for you! Highly recommended it. I didnt even know seidio existed before reading through these forums and looking at the opinions others gave them and I am glad I went with it! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I just got my surface case in today and it is exactly what I expected. I've had the same case on my Captivate and Inspire. There are other cases I like better but the clip is a necessity for me. Fits like a glove and doesn't add much bulk at all.
It adds a decent amount of protection but don't expect Otterbox Defender kind of protection. Though I have dropped my Captivate and Inspire numerous times with this case on and never had any damage.
Pics later when I get a chance.

FYI I've had Seido Surface cases cause micro scratches on the plastic of phones before. Little pieces of dust/debris get stuck inside and the hard plastic of the phone causes it to scratch the plastic of the phone.
You can have this issue with any type of hard plastic case. I've seen it happen personally on the cheap generic Ebay cases and expensive Surface cases.
I've seen the build up but not scratches in the 3 that I have owned. But I'm also not looking for it either as I don't care if the plastic gets scratched up. I just need something with a belt clip that doesn't add much bulk and gives some protection in case of a drop.

Review: Amzer Shellster Case/Holster

Didn't see one of these for the Note 2, so here we go:
The Shellster comes out of the box looking nice, very nice. Looks like it cost way more than $15-20. The case itself snaps onto the phone very, very snugly. It's on there to the point that getting it off involves so much pressure that you feel like you're going to break the phone, and it will probably drag across the volume rocker as you go. Kind of scary to do to a new phone.
The holster itself lacks and kind of clip to keep the phone in, but that's not a huge issue because of how tight a fit the cased phone is in there. It feels very snug and secure against your waist. The belt clip on the holster has a metal slider inside that allows it to prop the case up as a holster in either landscape or portrait orientation. It's a very nice touch. The belt clip can be rotated along a 180-degree axis to fit the phone more comfortably to your waist--a big help when your phone has a 5.5-inch screen!
All that said, there are some very real problems with it. The case does not have any protection along the top of bottom of the phone. The holster does, as it extends slightly above the top and has a plastic loop on the bottom for the device to rest in, but not the case. The case does have a raised bezel, but not by much. Given all that, I do not believe that the Amzer Shellster offers much in the way of protection in a fall.
The second big issue, and the reason mine is being returned, is poor build quality. Earlier today, less then three days worth of use on the case, I bent over to pick something up. I am not a big guy; bending over shouldn't generate a ton of stress. The holster was aligned so that it rested horizontally along my side, as opposed to resting straight up and down. As I bent over, I heard a snap, and the holster had fallen off and hit the concrete floor of my garage, with the belt clip still on my waist. Luckily, my phone was out of the holster at the time, so there was no damage. All the same, a product breaking under normal conditions three days after getting your phone just stinks of terrible build quality to me. Because of that, I can't recommend the Amzer Shellster case to anyone. Poke around on eBay or Amazon, and you'll find other holster-style cases for considerably less money. They might be of similar quality, but at least you're only breaking $8-10 instead of $20, right?
Pictures attached:
1. Phone lying on its back, case attached. See the thin strips on the side? That's the case.
2. Back of phone, bottom. Access to the S Pen remains easy.
3. Back of phone, top. Nice, raised case protects the camera and LED.
4. Top of phone. Shows the complete lack of protection up there, as well as how little of the case is up front to keep the screen from being damaged while lying face-first.
5. Damage to the holster itself, with the belt clip that popped off.
Thanks for sharing. I thought about getting one of these, but I could see that it lacked protection for the top and bottom of the phone (based on YouTube videos for other phones). Plus, as you mentioned, the hard plastic cases have the tendency to scratch phones, especially when removing them. Thanks again.
I completely agree with you in your review. I have used only seidio cases and holsters on my past 5 devices. Unfortunately, they just were not ready and shipping and I did not trust this giant phone to being in my pocket bare. I ordered the amzer case and holster and was able to get it this past week.
First thing I noticed off the bat was how tight an initial fit it was getting the case onto the phone. Was afraid I was going to crack the case or damage the phone. I was very unimpressed with the back texture of the case. It is waaaay to slick for my taste. Compared to the bare plastic of the phone, it feels like it wants to slip out of my hand holding it one handed. As you stated, there is NO protection on the corners of the phone. Top or bottom. A fall from any height that lands on a corner will have nothing protecting it.
I also noticed a huge amount of flex in the belt holder. it is made of very thin/cheap plastic. Trying to quickly take the phone in and out of the holder is more of a two handed job. Sadly, I am returning it and getting the seidio. They are finally in stock.
My advice, avoid the case. While it is inexpensive, it just will not do a good job of protecting the phone and the belt clip is just about useless.
Damm I just ordered this from expansys 2 days ago.. waiting for it to come now.. Wish I would have seen this before.. To late now.. I had this case for my Galaxy Nexus and I was happy.. That is the reason I reordered it.. Well I guess I will see what happens when I get here
Edit: got the case yesterday. I like it.for 15 bucks you can't beat it
removing Amzer Shellster case
Can you explain describe how to remove this case frome Note 2
Good review and good info. Looks like one to pass up.
I have this case since a holster case is a MUST on my list. And I do agree with OP with his concern (my clip also comes off one time but I can re-attach it without problem). But the first issue could be resolve with using another case with the holster (I did the same thing with my Note 1). Currently, I am using this Cruzerlite case with the holster without problem (a bit tight but get the work done). Therefore, it's not that bad as a cheap solution until I found better alternative.

Slide a fingernail between the case and the side of the phone at a corner (power button side is "easiest"), force the two apart. It honestly feels like you're going to break the phone in half.
