Boot Image - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to change it? I hate looking at the X with an unlocked lock underneath it.
I am not talking about the boot animation.

AT&T Splash Screen

Crazy request but does someone have the AT&T startup animation for this device they can link to the file?
Thanks in advance
I think you are referring to the start up logo, not boot animation?
There is where the carrier branding usually goes. And I think it is part of the bootloader and it is best not mess with bootloaders.
Sorry, meant the animation. If you have the zip for the stock boot animation that would be appreciated.

you can password protect twrp recovery, but you have to set it up in recovery. bootloader i dont see how a rom can protect, or a rwcovery, considering that on a nexus roms dont have anything to do with recoveries or the bootloader. are you sure it was on a nexus?
Are you talking about the unlock code to get to your homescreen? If so..... the numbers are setup like a telephone, 1-9.
123
456
789
So if your unlock code was an L, your code would be, 14789.
Hope this is what your looking for.
Sent from my Nexus 6
My phone can have a password to start up, it made me enter it twice. Onece right when starting up, then it would show a boot animation and ask for a password to start up, then it would boot up to lock screen. Idk what it was though. Maybe I'll figure it out right now
Alright, I went into settings and setup a pin password. It has the option to require pin to start up device. Maybe that's what your talking about? Its like a white and red screen that asks for a password and says encrypted on the top. BTW, I'm encrypted haha.I think I'm on 5.1

Remove boot logo

Hey guys. Just got my unlock code from vodafone but does anyone know how to remove the boot animation so I can have a stock phone. Looking for a solution without root.
Tia
Me too but I have a mate 8 with ugly unicom dl00 splash and boot screen how to change it.
One Q:
How many times do u reboot a day?
I think they want to set it to the default boot logo so it looks like a unbranded phone due to it being unllocked

Numbers overlapping custom bootlogo?

I've updated my phone to the current firmware and rooted it. I used a custom boot logo that I have used before but now there's a bunch of number in front of the red part of the image below. From what I can read it doesn't seem to match my serial, IMEI or any other number in my phone.
I could try to get a picture, but I need an actual camera can't screenshot during boot.

Usually you find the words "bad key" in this line. But if you use a patched and new signed boot.img (e.g. Magisk) "bad key" turns into a hex string. It's like hash string of your boot.img
What ever the device is showing in this line, it won't be covered by the logo. This line is always in foreground with a white font and the reason for all the custom logos. As you can see on your logo, the whole area where "bad key" appears is white.

So this is just a side affect of the current root method? If so, I'll just mess around with custom images and see what I can do.

"bad key" is shown if boot is stock
"N/A" when booting TWRP
hex string if boot.img is signed with a new key
This message is created in relation to the unlocked bootloader. A stock boot.img shows only bad key if your bootloader is unlocked. If it's locked again the same boot.img shows nothing.

It seems like I just have to deal with it if I'm to remain rooted. Thanks for all your help.

I use Motorola Boot Logo Maker from another member named caitsith2. It's probably the same program though.

It's the same. I no longer knew the name exactly and asked only out of interest.

Changing the Google Pixel 5 Boot Splash Logo (splash.img & bootanimation attached)

I recently got around to unlocking and rooting my Google Pixel 5, and now I'm wondering if it's possible to change the Google boot splash logo to an Apple logo?
(I used to run a rooted Samsung Galaxy S7 and I always loved having the Apple logo as my boot splash logo- thought it was hilarious).
I found the location at /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash and was able to copy it to my computer as an image file (attached below).
However, I have no clue how to edit it as I can't seem to find a way to open it ("cannot open file as archive")
There was this forum that I found which told people to post their device name and splash image file so the OP can create a tool for it, but it seems to be inactive now so I'm kinda stuck (people have been requesting even to this date, but with no response from the OP).
Would any of you guys be able to help me out on this? Or should I forget about it cause it might be too dangerous to fiddle around with because I can very easily brick my device if a new boot splash image is incompatible?
Attached is the splash.img and what I presume to be the Google Pixel 5 boot animations that I found under /system/product/media
(Although it seems like my phone doesn't use either of them- might be because of the new Android 12 wallpaper based logo colours).
