Recommendations for Headphones? - myTouch 3G, Magic Accessories

My headphone adapter for my MT3G recently stopped working, so I'm going to buy a new one soon, but I figured I might as well get a new set of headphones as well. Would you guys know of any good quality headphones? I'm interested in in-ear bud headphones with a built in mic. Also, would you guys know where I can buy the MT3G 3.5mm adapter? I found one on Amazon, but it's requiring me to buy the headphones with it.
Also a white pair of headphones and adapter is what I'm looking for, since I want it to match my MT3G color
Thanks in advance.

What sort of budget are you looking at? More and more highend in ear monitors (IEMs) are coming out with inline mic versions.

I don't really have a limit on price as of now, but if you know of one of equal quality, as the ones that came with the MyTouch 3G, or better. Send a link my way

http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-Isolating-Earphones-Microphone/dp/B000X26UTU/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1268359468&sr=8-16
Alittle pricey but companies tend to charge a premium for models with inline mics. You know, because of iPhone users...:-/
There are cheaper from Ultimate Ears too. Shure also offers a couple of models with inline mics.

Lol, that's a "little pricey"? I guess I can set my budget at about $40 then. If I can't find another I'll probably have to buy the ones that come with the MT3G.

Heh... Thats why I asked if you had a budget.
http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Earbuds-Headset-iPhone-Compatible/dp/B000WN00FK/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_2
These aren't half bad, their actual price are $39.90 (you have to add to cart to see the real price). These are on the way out as a new model just came out which is why they are fairly cheap.

Lol I didn't think headphones would cast that much, except for ones built for reasons other than usage on the bus. I might get that last one you showed me, it looks promising for sound and all that, but I don't know if I want something that will break in a few months thanks for the help though

bluetooth
Motorola S9HD. Had a pair (until my daughter broke them). Used everyday for work/gym/home. Music and phone calls. $99 @ Best Buy.

Headphone recommendation

I bought a pair of sony in ear headphones and they sounded great but the vol control and the buttons and the mic did not work.
I need in ear headphones that really sound good and the controls work for the htc hero.
and it seems when i press the middle button twice it skips the song but also calls someone at least on the sony headphones.
my price range in up to 60. any links to ebay amazon for good prizes are appreciated.
westone um1
A little higher than your range but worth it. almost complete isolation; excellent phones
worth your investment.
Skullcandy full metal jacket are great headphones with a mic. Pretty much any of the Vmoda head sets are great too. just google either and you find them. The skullcandy run about 75 bucks and the vmoda run between 50 - 150 the ones around 80 are the best value imo.
Don't have a pair of these exact ones but I use the regular versions of the Klipsch S4, they now have a volume control/mic version out now, probably $90 as mine were $80 that don't have volume/mic. They sounds awesome. I use a non a2dp bluetooth for when driving so didn't need the latter version, but its nice to know its there.
If your using cm6 go with a higher ohm like 32 to avoid static.

I got a pair of Beats by Dre and they sound pretty good, and look cool too. They retail for $150 but I got a pair unopened on eBay for $60. Great investment.
Lol @ everyone except Nannuq and TheNexxuvas actually reading the OP. He's not just looking for any headphone recommendations.. he wants ones with media controls that work with Android.

1) OP specifically stated he wanted in-ear, those are full size headphones
2) OP specifically stated he wanted media controls, those have none
3) There is a good chance the ones you got are counterfeit. Google "dre beats ebay scam" and you'll see what I mean.
I have some suggestions for you OP. Meelectronics M9's are regarded as the best $20 in-ear headphones. Fortunately for you, as part of their M series they make versions with a mic+media controls that work on "iPods and blackberrys," but who knows, might work with Android.
Here's the M9P on amazon for $19.99 (free shipping if order is > $25)
http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0038W0K2A
If you're interested, this is the M6P for $54.09 + free shipping (better sound quality, up to you if it's worth it)
http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B003VTZPO8
And there is also the NuForce NE-7M $49.00 + free shipping
http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B001BL8BO4
All of these are regarded on head-fi.org as some of the high ranking in-ear headphones < $50-60. Whatever site you look at, you'll see a lot of great reviews for all 3 of these, you can't go wrong sound-wise . Again, can't say for sure if controls work with Android phones. You'll have to do some googling to find out!

[Q] Headphones / Inline volume control / call control

Looking to get some Klipsch Image S4 Headphones to compliment my HTC HD7.
The only problem with buying generic 3.5mm earbuds, is of course I lose the call and volume controls which come with the stock earbuds.
So: I want to get a externsion cable with the volume/call contrl buttons, so I can plug my headphones into that cable, and then that cable into the phone.
Anyone seen a product like this?

Their called Mic Adapter's, so go research, google, or ebay "mic adapter" and pick one you like, hope this helps.
To keep the stock feel of my headset, I just bought a small 3.5mm female connector. Then I opened the headsets remote (it is very easy: just pull the buttons up).
There is a little board inside. I removed the cables of the original earbuds and soldered the female connector with fine cable to it. But before trying this, one needs to make sure, that the soldering equipment you have is fine enough because the soldering points are VERY small.
Now I can use any earbud I want, without losing any of the look or functionality the original equipment offered.
The price was approximately 1 Euro + the new headphones.
Replacement headphones
Hi all,
I think my question is simpler. I can't get along with the HTC headphones when I am out running - my ears are a funny shape I guess, so I want to get some earphones with ear hooks. BUT, I really want to keep the microphone and volume controls. Can anyone explain what I should look for. I tried some Philips ones, for iPhone, and they did not adjust volume.
Thanks in advance if anyone could shed some light on this!

I believe the HS-930i or HS-730i are what you're looking for, they don't have any hooks, though.
Thanks Dorian, this is very helpful. I note that the ones you have picked out are specifically for iPhone - am I right in thinking that headphones that provide all functionality for iPhone will also provide all functionality for HTC HD7 as well?

No, I bought Seinheisser Headphones with Mic, it was compatible with the iphone therefore thought the same, paid £65 for these, found out on my return from holiday that they did not work with the HTC Trophy! Everything works bar the Mic! It works very well with my sister in laws iphone!
Hence why I am now trawling the xda forum looking for something that is gauranteed to work! Not willing to spend anymore money on anything else!
I hope this helps,
Will
Thanks Will - that was exactly my concern... you spend a lot of money and they still don't work! And of course shops aren't keen on you putting the earphones in your ear to check! The lack of responses to this suggests to me that, at the moment, there isn't a solution.
Unless someone knows differently...
Solution found?
I contacted HTC directly today (perhaps should have done this first!) and had a very helpful conversation with Mohammed in their support centre.
He pointed me at the Dixons site, which shows lots of accessories, together with product compatibility. This was very helpful.
I have just ordered some Nokia WH-800 earphones from Amazon for 18 GBP plus postage. I think they will do what I require.
I also loved the look of "PowerBeats Sport Headphones red with Control Talk" and I may ultimately go for those, although the price of 120 GBP is a little steep for me.
Anyway, I think I have found a solution!
Was hoping for a replacement set also - I must have odd ears as the htc standards (although sounding good) just don't stay put. I need those inner ear bud things or a full on over head set.
Andyspr - can you let us know if they work for you? Those over ear clips would sort me out!!

earbuds with mic

The headphones that came with my play seem to be dying. Looking for a replacement:
Shure SE115M+
Does not work, get Accessory not supported message. meh
Phonak Perfect Bass
Got a straight connector, will be a problem in the pocket
So I'm looking for over the ear cabling and a right angle jack - any suggestions?
Cheers

No joy with that but I did find these on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Ericss...WV3G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311248051&sr=8-1
Ordered last week and delivered yesterday - not bad considering they have come from Germany. Proper Sony box, extra buds. Yay I have sound in both ears
Also.. this looks the business:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/live-sound?cc=gb&lc=en#view=overview
No word on eta or price though
I got the MW600 Bluetooth... I great to have it wireless..., however... I don't like the quality of the headphones on either the Play Box or the MW600...
I can recommend the Samsung S8000 (JET) heaset... I used to have one it is GREAT!!!!
The sound is great on the and it has a jack for 3.5 on the Mic, so you can change the headphones only if you want... also it has a 90 degree plug. (funny because it make it uncorfortable on the JET... but GREAT for the PLAY.
Mine are also dying, slowly the volume output is getting lower and lower
Undecided on new headphones as well.
Don't want to spend money to have it die a month later, or have poor audio output .
MH650 are the stock ones that came with the phone? don't really want to buy ones that died within a month of use again.
Be careful what headphones you buy!
I bought Skullcandy FIX ear buds ( http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/fix-bud-navy-black.html ) and they dont work with the phone. The plug goes in but because of the curve on the phone, doesnt go in all the way so you get a weird cross channel. The headphones work awesomely in every other thing I tried, so it's basically just the curve on the body of the phone that stops it.

Best headphones for inc?

Hello
I am on the hunt for some good headphones that I can use to listen to music and answer/talk on the phone. I got some headphones off amazon that said they were for the incredible, however you can't answer the phone by the headphone controls... Has anyone found some good headphones?
Thanks

I'd recommend pre-ordering the Klipsch Image S4A's. I have the regular Image S4's (no inline remote/mic, otherwise identical) and they sound incredible. They're well worth the asking price.
I am notoriously cheap. Um, I mean frugal.
Awhile back I looked around for earbuds and found a few that I liked. I like Koss, though they can tend to be kind of bass-heavy (to the point of muddiness). The Plug by Koss is an example of this: they fit wonderfully but can be a bit biased toward bass.
I replaced my Plugs by Koss with a pair of black Yamaha EPH-20 earbuds. They are quite a bit "brighter" than the Plug but don't skimp on the bass.
I personally can't see spending more than $30 or so on earbuds for my cell phone, so I hope this helps.
No brainier when these come out. Inline control works with Android, iOS and WindowsPhone for $50.

I use JH Audio 13 PRO with my Dinc and they sound incredible but they are $1,150 ha ha.
I use a pair of JVC Marshmallow 'buds... they're $20 at Wal-Mart, come in several different colors, and sound amazing to me. Yeah, they don't have a built in mic, no external controls, but if what you're looking for is simply music, they're one heck of a deal.

If you need the built in mic and answer controls, the wired headset earbuds from my old BlackBerry sound decent and the answer button / mic works. $8 on amazon.

Bang and Olufsen Earset 3 or A8s
I work for Bang and Olufsen, and we make a killer set, for about $200. I might sound a little biased, but honestly I could care less if you chose to by ours over another brand. Why? If I sell one, I make about 5 Bucks commission. And the odds someone reading this forum is going to buy a set from me? Don't really need to answer that one. That being said, hear me out about the inside scoop:
They are made out of aluminum, and aren't the isolation type that get shoved in your ear canal. You lose a little bass, but you can walk down the street and not get jacked because you are oblivious to whats going on around you. They have great sensitivity (don't need to crank your device, which saves battery life), and the stereo imaging is amazing. The highs are clear and sharp and don't break up. They also stay on your ears very well and are great for exercising. Plus, they come with a 3 year international warranty: If you break them, you can bring them into any showroom in the world and we will swap them out on the spot (provided they don't look like you ran them over with a car) if you have proof of purchase (we will help you out with this part by contacting the store you purchased them from).
We also have sets of the Dre Beats In-Ears, Bose on-ears and in-ears (Bose stands for "Buy Other Sound Equipment"), and the Klipsch S4s in our showroom and have tested them against our own. We beat them hands down. Our customers have all agreed as well (comparing them hands-on with their own phones and ipods, not our demo tracks).
Go find a showroom, and give them a shot. Not saying their the best thing since sliced bread, but you might find them to be exactly what you are looking for.

While I have no doubt that the B&O set is very good, I have difficulty imagining that they're as much bang for your buck as (at least) the Klipsch S4s. I agree with a lot of your points (with Bose and Beats, you're paying for the brand, not for quality) but when you say that the B&O set beats all those, it should... it costs $200. The rest are $75-100, or cheaper if you find a decent deal (not too hard). As great as the B&O set may be, 3/8 the price for at least 5/8 sound quality (S4) makes a much better deal for the average, non-audiophile, consumer who wants great sound from their device.
but also to consider; the Klipsch ones aren't as durable. You'll probably go through 3 pairs in the time you go through one set of B&Os. $200 is for the earset, which has a mic for handsfree calling. 160 gets you headphones only.

How long are you talking about going through the B&O's in? I've had the S4s for about 6 months. That's longer than I've ever had earbuds before (I'm VEEEERY hard on them), and they still look and feel brand new. By my standards, the build quality is extremely impressive.
My buddy is on an earbud hunting kick and I've been helping him out. We've tested just about everything we can find locally and so far the best sounding are the Klipsch X10I. We found them locally for $250.00 and they are worth it. I have a set of JH Audio 13 PRO's and the Klipsch X10I's sound about 50% of the JH Audio and that's really saying something. Besides the JH Audio, the Klipsch X10I's are the best sounding earbuds I've heard yet.

I like the S2m. Decent price too.
And BOSE also stands for "Basically...Overpriced Stereo Equipment"
No highs...No lows...Must be BOSE!!
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-DRBT101-BLK-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headphones-Black/13904899
I use these as headphone for music and calls. I cannot attest to any sound quality As I am somewhat hearing impaired(need aids) But these are able to play music loud enuff for me listen too. On calls I hear the voice quite well and the caller says they can hear me clearly.
I have a pair of Shure SE210s and I love them, but I can't recommend them unless you're planning on photo-shopping your receipt to make it look like they're still under the 2 year warranty when they break every 1.5 years. The audio quality is fantastic, and I like the in-ear design but they just don't hold up to what I think is normal use.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-200-iems-compared-hifiman-re272-added-10-14-11
That's all you need.
I use the $50-$60 ViSang R03 / Brainwavz M2, and couldn't be happier.
"The ViSang R03 is an incredible performer - a wholesome combination of build quality, comfort, and sound at a price well south of $100. In terms of coherency of sound signature they are up there with the best sub-$100 earphones I have heard. The combination of impactful bass, clear mids, and crisp treble give the R03 a very agreeable sound that can be enjoyed by both the audiophile and the casual listener in equal measure. And that fact alone makes them highly recommended earphones with a sound signature geared slightly towards the mainstream market compared to much of the gear talked about on head-fi. Do I personally still prefer a more analytical sound? Yes. But that does not prevent me from enjoying the R03 in the least. They are not perfect, but they are unreasonably good for what they cost."

3 Years plus. They will most likely last you well past that, but if they break within 3, you get a brand new pair for free.

I love the new Klipsch S4A great sound quality for a low price, plus it's made specifically for android
I'm going to sound insane compared to folks advocating $50-$250 headphones.
I use OEM Palm Stereo Headset 3.5mm model#3422WW. These are in ear, not in ear canal. They sound better than $30 & $50 headphones I've tried. Oh yeah easily had on eBay $3.50.

What kind of earbuds does the G2 come with?

AT&T. Do they include headphones? And are they good? I really like having volume control on my headphones. I know AT&T likes to strip the phone box of all accessories and resell them at a huge markup to squeeze every penny they can out of your sphincter, but I've had the occasional phone from them ship with all the factory accessories.

Yep. ATT ones come without the earphones. I have the international one, they came with a pair of in-ear buds with volume control and end call button. White/black depending on your phone's colour. Quadbeat 2. Pretty decent stock headphones.

Spend $20 on headphones and you'll kill any cheap OEM headphones shipped with a phone. Spend $50 and you'll wonder why you ever even considered using the cheap ones. Get something like Seinheiser, no Skullcandy or other nonsense.

Not entirely true, the stock HTC One headphones are amazing for free units. I have a pair of £30 Sonys that dont even come close and neither do the last set of Sennheisers I bought. They are about £5 on eBay, so I bought 2 extra pairs, I have also converted quite a few people to them. Many have ditched more expensive ones for them. Their buttons also work with the G2. They look cheap, but sound great and are very loud.
EDIT:
Just tried the Quadbeat 2 that came with the phone for the first time. Quite clear and decently loud, but the bass is very very poor compared to the HTC units. The Quadbeats have some bass (unlike Samsung bundled units), but the HTCs are so strong I can feel the bass in my jaw bone. At max volume they are painful, genuinely so. They arent subtle, and may not be audiophile quality, but they arent at all bad, if you like bassy energetic music they work very well.
For the AT&T version, they don't come with headphones, but I managed to get them by buying through Costco. Only problem is that they take 10 weeks to ship. So it's kinda not even worth it.
Amazon is currently selling the Westone 3 at a steal for 160 bucks which is cheaper than the Westone 2 strangely. My unit just shipped.

I had a HTC One X+ for AT&T and it came with Beats ear buds. After a year they still sound great.. a little scuffed up now but doesn't affect how they sound so I have to disagree with phones coming with crap headphones. You're lucky if they even do come with them especially with AT&T. My S4 Active, G Pro, and G2 didn't come with anything.
I have the International G2. The Quadbeat 2 (comes with it) is hands down the best earphone to be bundled with a phone. The Quadbeat 1 was already excellent and they've stepped their game up with the sequel. The detail retrieval in the treble is excellent and are complemented well by the mids.
For 30$ the only other earphone/headset that could be considered as competition is the Sony MH1C.
For a few impressions on the sound quality you could skim through this thread
