Hello, I'm opening this thread here couse I'm looking for some testers for my black theme below.
On the main thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624874 I've been reported some problems about SMS background by a HTC touch pro user.
In detail, I noticed that all the popup menu doesn't change colors (they are maybe skinned by HTC maybe?) and also the SMS background still stay white (and so my modified white text is not readible).
If someone could try both version I made:
tacchan23_Black_6.5.x_VGA
Tacchan23_Black_6.5.x_VGA x HTC TouchPro
and see if it's the same for everyone regardless of ROMs and so.
Also if u have any suggestions (maybe there is some registry tweak to disable the HTC skinning or something) on how to make the popup menus black too would be nice.

- Before installing anything remember to install SDKCERTS.cab from Here Without this the taskbar may not work! (usually not needed for cooked roms)
Bluetooth:
- Not needed anymore to use the BTnotifier.exe on Omnia2. I found the OEM .dll file (from Samsung) which contains the BT icons for Omnia2 and, after replacing the icons there, I added it to my taskbar cabs.
- The BtIconNotifierDusk is needed only for some phones which can't display the Bluetooth icon correctly and istead display the standard WM icon (before using it, try if it works without the fix)
HTCvolumecontrol:
- If you have problem with HTC volume control, you may TRY install this fix Here OR to delete the htcvolumecontrol.dll from Windows folder.
Best solution is sending me the original htcvolumecontrol.dll from your ROM.

This cab will install a new taskbar image with clock background; the blue version cab will also replace the signal and active sync icons as in the screenshot.
This is optimized for being used with my Theme below, but it can be used also with other themes (BUT in this case u'll have to reinstall the cab every time u switch to another theme, while if you have my theme installed you can revert to it anytime)
Install order is important:
1. install Dusk taskbar (and CDMAfix if needed)
2. install my Theme (optional but reccomended) or any other theme u plan to use
3. install DuskClock
Uninstall procedure is important too:
if u uninstall them, u need to reinstall my Taskbar
green and blue can replace each other, but black need to install on clean taskbar (if u want to change from green/blue clock to black clock, u need to uninstall everything and start again to install my taskbar and then the black clock)

Install the GSM taskbar cab first (above), then the CDMA fix: it comes with two different styles of signal icons (choose and install just one of the below cabs, they work for both wm6.5 and wm6.5.x):

very nice theme and taskbar, I'm running it on the Energy sense 2.5 and it looks pretty smooth. I'll report on it later.
PS: I'm trying to find where the dark theme wallpaper that the start menu and lockscreen uses, is located at, so I can added to my homescreen, and finalize the theme.
can someone tell me where it is? I've checked the theme folder and in the windows directory, but I probably missed it.

Great Work!! I was having a problem with my Max in full screen until I installed your theme and taskbar. I am running NRGZ 23554 Max rom, the latest and was having some problems with the full screen. After installing your theme it seems to have cleared it up.

hello, i tried the duskbar green for win 6.5.x on the latest TAEL ROM Sense 2.5 and found that reply to SMS icon changed to blue just like in that image above? no other bottom icons changed. this happens often when i try new taskbars. anyone have an explanation for that?
also, the only way i can get the bottom icons back to normal is to reinstall the rom, which is a real pain! uninstalling or installing a new taskbar does not fix that bottom icon. :'(
when i write sms i have black background and cannot see what i type
i tested both versions...
any fix??

I wanted to use a theme with black background also on the newly (to Omnia2 at least^^) ported WM 6.5.3. (as the Samsung black theme is not working anymore on the new WM versions)
So I made a mix of many themes along with some custom made images to get a full black theme with item selectors in blue and some glossy effects.
Details v7:
- WM 6.5.x (but it should/may work also on wm 6.5 other than the bottom bar of course)
- (W)VGA and (W)QVGA
- black blackground
- 7 themes (.tsk) to choose different styles of softkeybar and taskbar (details in the screenshots below):

Just one request, if possible? Is it possible to make the taskbar all black? Because in the 2 themes you made, the upper right hand corner of the taskbar is not pure black. It's almost grayish in appearance.
If you could make one which is all black for both top and bottom bars, I would truly appreciate it a lot.

Maybe later I'll change v1 to a pure black if I manage to get a black bottom bar too.
In the meantime you can replace the taskbar.png in My Documents\Themes\tacchan23black with the one attached here (and soft reset).

i have some small bugs would be great if fix possible
-in skyfire address bar all is black so its not seen what is typed
-notifications shown black background (screenshot 1)
-some items unseen unless selected(screenshot 2&3)
and bug i have not sure its because of theme but i suspect it:
even after uninstalling black theme and setting back to original some places are gray instead of white, example notification in screenshot 1 after reverting to default white theme the black square becomes gray instead to white.

screen2&3: which application is that exactly?
screen1: the notifications look like this (screenshot) to me
skyfire: for me the address bar background is in black and the typed text is white (you have the newest skyfire version?)
You using WM 6.5, not 6.5.x right? maybe some of the problems may come from that... if anyone else is facing similar problems (with 6.5 I think) let me know please.

in screen 2,3 its resco 2010 b2 registry editor>export reg file.
i think notification is graphic file maybe you know which one so i can skin it?
i use 6.5 build 21884 and newest skyfire i think its cause you got samsung (if i understood correct) and samsungs apps (like notification manager) maybe work better with some things...
now when i'm setting back to white some places becomes gray what i need to change for this to become white?

I'll try resco registry later.
About skyfire and the notifications it's strange... maybe it depends on 6.5 vs 6.5.x. When I try to go back to a "white background" theme it's working correctly and there is no gray areas.
And sadly I really have no idea how to solve it
At least I'd like to know if anyone else is facing the same problem (with 6.5 or 6.5.x) on non Samsung devices.

Hey tacchan, glad you did a black/white version. But, I'm having some problems. I installed the large v7 theme but, my lists area look like the old wm 6.1 list areas. The selectors dont change and all items are smashed together in file explorer and such like old times. Any ideas? Thanks. The black version still works perfect though.
Unfortunately doesn't work on my HD2 with miri 28205 ROM.
EDIT: Stupid me, off course it works! Forgot to choose the right theme.

thanks to longice.. There is only one version atm which is the original taskbar, with a waitcursor to support wm6.1.. Let me know if it works well so that i can add more versions
Added New QVGA (also Here fo no battery) and New WM6.1 version, unfortunately aas far as i know its not possible to skin the signal bars, so theyre going to have ot be white for now, sorry. in Post 3 (thanks to dandnj71 and longice for all there work)

Remember the Volume icon for most devices will not be skinned! You have to download the zip attached which contains the Volume icon DLL, you will need to use the version you are using (19XX or 20XX) your Volume control and volume icon should be perfect after this.

added a zip file which contains all the taskbar cabs for people expriencing problems with taskbar
images etc and battery icon problems (i think)..

If you are still experiencing a Volume Icon bug after installing the correct version Look at Post 3
Before installing anything remember to install SDKCERTS.cab from Here Without this the taskbar may not work!
All the taskbars have the CDMA Fix inside so no probz for CDMA users. I also added A battery percentage version BIG thanks to dandnj71
Finally, after a lot of looking into, fixed all known issues for all devices.. Now V4/V5 works for all.. If you guys have any suggestions please post a reply, as your ideas only make the taskbar better

Wait Cursor :
Taskbar Underlay Colors are added if you want black/white taskbar underlay. Download Taskbar Colors.zip and excute cab inside.
Instructions For A Perfect Installation
1) Install SDKCerts.cab
2) Find out if you are using Wm6.5 or WM6.5.x.. To know this just simply look if your start menu button is placed at the top or bottom.
Top=WM6.5 (stock roms)
Bottom=WM6.5.X
3) Choose one of the folowing taskbars that are attached to this post (or extras) which say the version of you choice and the wm6.5 build you are using
4) Run the cab on your Device
5) Software Reset
(If Volume icon missing (most likely))
6) Find out if what version of htc volume control you are using
7) Download "Dark Ninja Volume Fix 19XX-20XX"
8) Run the cab of the version you are using 19XX or 20XX
9) Software Reset
-Your done-

-Also if you are getting a black square on the volume icons try the cab attached..
-If you are getting htc volume control problems, and causing the hardware buttons to do folly things you can try a few of these suggestions..try doing this:
First, remember to find out which version of volume control you are using and with them install the fix's in the previous post. If that doesnt work..
1) Try going to windows directory in total commander
2) (uninstall 19XX or 20XX volume fix)
3) Install This
3) Software reset.
This method i would say is the best way as it doesnt effect your VolumeControl dll.. It will defo work

1. Bluetooth Icon not showing
Bluetooth Icon only show when HTC Dialer is enable. If you are using Window Default Dialer,Download & install WM Default Dialer at Optional Files.
2. HTC Volume only show single control
Download & Install Sarcy's Restore Dual Volume Control
3. WM6.1 unable to open >Settings>Personal>Menus
Delete this file "shellres.dll.0409.mui" in your windows dir after installing the taskbar and soft reset. Not all device use this file.
4. CDMA Device Icon not showing
Install CDMA Fix cab file.
5. Why Signal Bar is still white?
Because WM6.1 Doesn't allow changes to its Signal bar, OK and X icon. Upgrade to WM6.5 to resolve the issue.
6. MMS Icons aren't change with some device like Diamond, Diamond II or Touch Pro with 480x640 Res.
Download MMSRes_480x640.dll and copy it into your device /Windows folder. If prompted to overwrite click yes.

The X and Battery icons is a design from MS I think and there is nothing we can do. It is suppose to have a bigger pressing area for our finger.
What i did was to shift the Battery Icon to the far left of the given area so it won't look too close to the X icon.

It could be that you are using the old volume control. I'm using HTC volume control.

-This theme was made for Sense 2.5 and CHT 1.8.5
-theme includes HQ as well as regular quality .cabs for the clock, sliders, lockscreen and music player
-the HQ .cabs require your phone to be patched with cfc 0.50 to work and they may slightly slow down your phone if you're using an older model. I'm currently using all the HQ .cabs on my Imagio (not very fast) and they're running very smoothly though.
-Refer to installation guide below for cfc patching. However, most custom ROM's have already been cfc patched so it'll just be a simple cab install for most of you

Patching Manila Installation
1. Download cfc-gui.exe here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3164600&postcount=1
2. Run cfc-gui.exe
3. Go to Device>Patch Manila on Device as shown in pic below
-If you get an error, I'm looking for a solution but not sure what to do yet, you may want to try to contact Chainfire or look for more instructions in the cfc-gui thread
Then just install the .cabs and reset sense.
Android Taskbar Notes
-For the android taskbar, just place the attached taskbar templates correctly on your custom wallpapers or upload your wallpaper and I will
-This was originally made for CHT, but it should work with HDWalls and a RetractableSlider .cab, which you can easily find on google
-I used NRGZ28's remove start & X button from home screen, this may work with other rom's other than EnergyROM's but check out your rom's threads for more compatible versions. If you are using an EnergyROM, just download the .cab from the Add On's section NRG's threads.
Installation
(if you are not installing black text)
1. Download the .zips and .cabs
2. Install the TransparentRetractSlider .cab
3. Install poyensa's transparent softkey .cab (cambios registro softkeys)
4. Skin the Taskbar & Softkeys with CHT Editor for the android taskbar
-you must also set your slider to retract in CHT Editor>Miscellaneous>Retract Slider>On
(if you are installing black text as well)
1. Download the .zips and .cabs
2. Install the Transparent Retract Slider .cab
3. Install DarkNinja's white theme, Go to Settings>All Settings>Home>Appearance>Select
Dark Ninja White (I have found this to be the easiest and fastest way to get black text on softkeys)
4. Install textcolorfix.cab
5. Install Apaquette's blactext .cab
6. Install calendarblacktext.cab
7. Install textfix2.cab
8. (optional)Install my CalendarBlueToday.cab (makes the "today" indicator on calendar tab blue, better for lighter wallpapers)
9. Install poyensa's transparent softkeys (cambios registro softkeys) and reset
10. Apply the Wallpaper and Skin the Taskbar & Softkeys to get the android taskbar with CHT Editor and reset again

are you using CHT 1.8.5? with CHT Editor just go to Set Wallpaper from the right "Menu" softkey and set one of my wallpapers with the android taskbar to "Skin Taskbar and Softkeybar." After soft resetting, install the cambio softkeys from post #3 and soft reset again, they should be transparent now.

yeah im using CHT 1.8.5..i do everything but still same. IF i use cambio softkeys nothing happened (yes i have win 6.5.x with bottom buttons)..and if i use your wallpaper only upper and bottom bars are "skinned" (only piece of wallpaper is visible on them)

Hmm sounds like you don't have my wallpaper set as your wallpaper. The same wallpaper must be set as "Wallpaper" and "Skin Taskbar and Softkey bar"
As for the softkey cab, the thread below tells how it works so you may want to try delete those files.

I actually tried the second link first and then installed the cambio softkeys because I wanted to use my own theme, then I reverted back to my theme again. This may have made the cambio cab work because it would have skinned the softkeys with the transparent "theme" softkeys.
I'll look for other solutions if it doesn't work.

one question, how i can get transparent slider? i tried 'touch x transparent slider.cab" but not working properly because all red icons has disappeared.

Looks great with those notifications as well I have a transparent curtains.cab Ill attach here as well as on post #1 for the transparent slider background.

Ahh, that would do it.
very nice. really like the silver look, makes the blue look neon. you should look at making other colors as well, i'm sure they'd be popular. (not that I have a clue as to how difficult that would be) especially pinks, purples or oranges. not a whole lot of girly themes out there.

Thanks and glad you like it different colors for atleast the clock, lockscreen and music player would be quite easy, but sliders may take a little work. I'd be happy to recolor it on your or other's request but probably won't release unless requested.
