Lost gps , wifi , bluetooth together - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

hello
I had a problem with my touch screen and after i get it to a serviceman my gps , wifi , bluetooth and phone mic were lost. so i search for a solution and i found this:
Hi. Have a look on ebay. I would recommend you buy a complete LCD and digitiser pre-assembled in one unit... These typically cost around £35 UK pounds when bought from sellers in Hong Kong. You will need a set of jewellers screw drivers (mini torx drivers), and a set of tweezers. Also, would recommend downloading a Service Manual for the Diamond if you have never taken one apart before (you can find this with Google). You need to be very careful though, because there are two small black coaxial cables inside the device that carry the GPS, bluetooth/wifi signals from the upper antenna board to the lower motherboard. These are very easily damaged and it is difficult to locate replacements. I've changed a few LCDs in the past and it is relatively easy if you are careful and methodic about taking the device apart. If you are unsure, I would recommend finding a third party replacement service on the internet to do it for you....

No idea how this plugs in, wonder if someone has used it and can describe
thx
I think, that idea to use internal GPS parts of s730 was definitely resigned after so lot of time spent to solve this.
U can use a cheap Bluetooth GPS reciever.
I got one from ebay for 20$ and 10$ shipping. Works perfect and can be charged through the mini-usb charger (batterly lasts more than 20hours)
I got this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330222714814

Have you tried calling your carrier to see if they can replace your unit under warranty?
well i broke mine too but it as more htc's fault than mine as there are a couple threads on how the first gen kaiser mini usb ports were not made well and the usb plug is loose an can cause connection issues forcing you to wiggle and bend it inside the port thus breaking the plastic seperator between the pins and damaging pins..i called att warranty exchange and worked my way through techs and elevated support and just make it known to them (because they have no documentation on this issue and insist that they cant help you) and that you have many documents supporting your position and pictures and just dont let them win...demand support on this device and DONT let them tell you its physical damage and its out of warranty...let them know its the most high end device they have and how can they make something that that doesnt hold up to its standards blah blah blah...eventually after an hour you will get a replacement and they will note your account to avoid the $450 charge..here are some links to support your case if needed

[Q] Wi-Fi Problem.

Hi All,
A couple of weeks ago while repairing the cracked screen of my HTC One I broke the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cable running across the phone. I ordered a new one and used the phone without it (With very poor Wi-Fi range) until the new one arrived. The antenna arrived yesterday and I installed it in the phone, however, upon booting the phone I have found that the range is still very poor.
Someone please help!!!
Thanks,
NoBones

You might have damaged your wifi/bluetooth transmitter/receiver by using it without the antenna connected. Transmitters are designed to work with antennas that have calculated length and impedance based on the wavelength (frequency) used. If not using the right antenna or no antenna, most of the power is reflected back to the Tx/Rx circuitry and can cause irreversible damage.
Never use a device without its antenna or with the wrong antenna, this apply for all devices that have transmitter circuits. (WiFi routers, phones, CB radios, etc etc).
I will not explain in details how it works, if you want to read more about this, search VSWR in google.

Probably need a mother board replacement if your issue is caused by what I said

Wifi "cover" Where to buy or how to apply it right

Hello guys,
some days ago I changed the top motherboard (where camera is attached). Since then i couldnt get good wifi connection.
When changing the motherboard, i had the problem that i couldnt stick the wifi cover (as shown in the picture) properly to the new motherboard because I had no new tape. So i sticked it as good as possible and closed the phone.
Now my question: How can I stick the wifi cover properly to the motherboard so I can have good wifi connection. And if it is not possible, where can I buy this wifi cover with tape attached?
Thank you in advance.
might be one of those gold pins in that area. try adjusting some of them and checking that they are making a good connection to the casing.

WiFi not working

Hi guys, i bought this phone (used) and there was no issues, but in one day it stops searching wifi. It sometimes may do it, but most time it shows that there is no networks nearby.
I think i should replace wifi module, but found no information where is it on this phone. May somebody told me that?
Hello, I don't think you can change the wifi module : it most likely is a chip soldered on the mainboard, you might want to check the connection between the mainboard and the antenna ?

this might make sense, which antenna should I check?
I don't own the Xperia 10 but it can be either embedded on the chassis with little nipples pressed on contacts on the mainboard (or the over way around) or it could be "standard" U.FL connector. If your device has fallen many times they could be a little loose as these are quite flimsy
