App that puts shortcuts in noticication bar?? - Droid Eris Themes and Apps

I used to have an app that i could put shortcuts in my notification bar. When I updated to the new 2.1 leak. I didn't back up that app, and I can't for the life think of me what it was called. It had a dumbbell as an icon for the app if that helps any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It was a useful app
***Nevermind I found it after looking on the next page.lol***
The app was "Bar Control"

what was the point of that verse just putting them on a home screen? Just curious.. always looking for cool additions.
thanks

[Q] Help finding the perfect Home/Launcher app

ok, i've tried a fair few but only 'open home' so far can offer transparent labels/text for both icons & folders.
anyone know of any others that do this? i just want text-free home screens.
many thanks.
apes
should have said, need 7 screens & customisable folder icons.
cyanogenmod roms can add shortcuts with no text to home, but the launcher with all apps will show text. I dont know any with such a function
If you want a nice launcher try zune home, i love it.
ps edit posts, dont double post.
adw + folder organiser combined manages it.
ok re double post, almost as bad as a post that adds no value.

[Q] app drawer app?

So.... ive been digging around this morning to no avail........
What im looking for is an app that i guess would be considered a simulated app drawer? Not a home launcher. For example, it would list all apps and allow you to run them from within itself as shortcuts just like the normal app drawer does. More specifically something that would allow the changing of said apps icons. At the moment i dont care about any battery drain side effects that using an extra app drawer app would cause.
Anyone know of anything like this?
Note: Remember im not talking about an entire home launcher, im well aware of most all home launchers and there abilities or lack there of.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: At best the closest i can come to this is to create a folder and add apps to it by dragging folder organizer shortcuts with custom icons in it into it. This is a time consuming process and needs to be manually updated every time an app is installed.
Something like Simi Folder?
Thats one option i was looking at but when it comes down to it it would basically require the same effort that folderorganizer does.
I think what i really need to do is research creating icon "packs" that i can link too that would auto assign an icon to an app. Simi is a bit more pleasing to the eye though.
Edit: haha thanks for posting that i just reread the simi folder thread and realized i missed the fact that it has support for icon packs... So does folder organizer though. I guess im kind of looking for something thats right in my face.... 0.o... Im just not to fond of trying to learn how to create icon packs... wonder if i could just mod one and sign it with a test sig...
Edit Edit: Nah after installing simi folder its actually less capable of doing what im looking for then folder organizer is.
I know you're not looking for another launcher, but have you checked out Go Launcher Ex? You can create folders inside of the app drawer with that launcher, which is what you appear to be trying to do.
If you already checked it out and it's not what you're looking for, then... at least I bumped your thread
Herp derp Captivate XDA app.
Have you tried circle launcher? It allows you to. Create a widget on the homescreen and within it you can choose what appear you want it to launch
Its.essentially like folder organizer but.with eye candy I guess. Not really sure.how else to.describe it.

I was thinking the twgtglauncher puts the app icons in tiles. Maybe you can edit that launcher. Are you trying to create a "Glowen" app drawer?

Lockscreen customisation - What apps are you using?

The lockscreen is the only part of my Nexus S I haven't customised yet.
What are your favourite apps and mods for the lockscreen? Mind sharing them and perhaps a screenshot?
Cheers,
L
Widgetlocker, you can get it from the market.
Then look up some custom sliders, there are some great minimalist ones out there that are far prettier than the standard android one. I may get round to adding more here but for now check that out, its how i did mine.
Thank you Corvidd, will check both out!
Is there anything to bring notifications on the lockscreen at all?

Click to collapse
You can add widget in widgetlocker, then you got notifications in lockscreen...
You can also let notification bar free to be open and add shortcuts... really useful app.

Widgetlocker for sliders.
Widgetsoid for power control toggles.
SimiClock for Weather, time and battery.
In Widgetlocker - enable the notification bar.
The end result of all this is a ridiculous amount of 1 click functionality from your lock screen.
I also use NoLED for notifications along with WidgetLocker, works well.
Hope this helps!
I used MetaMorph for my lockscreen.

Anyone tried GOTO Lockscreen?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.innowebtech.g0t0
It has more or less what I want although I would really just like a list of all the notification with ability to launch directly the associated app on the lockscreen..
I hear this is what Sense 3 does but can't find an example anywhere..

Sense 5 App Drawer

Anyone else dont like the fact on Sense 5, if you want a app shortcut to be on the bottom app bar then it gets removed from the app drawer? So you cant have it in both the drawer and on the home screen! Hope this gets modded by the awesome devs on here.
Why would you want it still in the app drawer if you have made a shortcut to it for easy access
I agree with craftycarper1 as I don't see why you would seek to start an app from the app drawer after you created a shortcut for it. If you want to see the list of all apps there are many apps and usual android settings menu to do so.
On the other hand I have to admit that I don't like this Sense 5 app drawer. It too minimalist and does not allow even basic customizations.
Tell me if I'm wrong but It does not allow horizontal scroll, app groups on other sorting than custom. I hope these little features will be added soon.

[Q] How to change icon size/theme in Google Now Launcher?

I've started utilizing Google Now quite a bit lately. And now I would really like to get back to using the Google Now launcher. However, It's still missing 2 key features in stock form. I'm looking to see if anyone has a solid work around for them, that doesn't hinder performance.
1) Change icon theme
2) Change icon size
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Icon changer on the playstore
Thanks, but it looks like it only changes/resizes the icon on the desktop and not the app drawer. Am I doing something wrong?
You can just drag icons out of app drawer first . you can't have it already there
