I can connect to my home Broadband using my XDA 11i but cna't get it to actually SHOW any web pages.
It tries searching but keeps trying to connect by GPRS .... sorry if I haven't explained it so well .
ANyways I can use the XDA for normal internet use BUT can't actually see any web pages when I try to connect by WiFI EVEN THOUGH the device says that it HAS a GOOD connection to my HOME BROADBAND !!??

i have the same problem on my ppc and i don't know how to access internet thru my adsl at home. it always connects to gprs for internet, messenger or email!! plz help
try checking if you really are connected thru your wifi. if so, open explorer on your phone while it is connected thru wifi, you'll konw when the icon circle with 2 arrows appear steady.
if not, set your settings to "the internet" instead of "work" then try again.
or you may be far from your wifi source, just for testing try to sit down in front of your wifi router while browsing.
worst comes to worst have a master rest and try again.
It does connect using the WiFI broadband but son't show any webpages and keeps tryin gto conect to GPRS >

you obviously know how to turn on wifi on your alpine yes?
tunr on your wifi then go to the there is a little icon at teh bottom of the screen that shows all avalable connections, hold over select your home wifi connection, click connect when it appears select "internet" enter your wifi password and thats it, it will use your adsl connection if you turn on your wifi before you try to access the net, if you dont it will use gprs.
wifi must be on and connected before you use outlook/IE/opera ect. default is always gprs

Hi Zincubus look in wireless manager, there you have 3 symbles gprs blue tooth & wilan if you see these your'e on the correct page ,look along the bottom of the screen click on the symble like a pda with an arial on the side ,then you will see a square next to automaticaly connect to non preferred networks ,un tick it , then try to connect to your network ,good luck.

I just finished setting up Wifi and it works perfect. Is there any way i can make the Diamond use the Wifi connection for programs if such connection exist? Currently it alwasy open a 3G connection even if Wifi is enabled, which kinda sucks, since 3G traffic dont come cheap
So what i want is, if Wifi connection exist use that, else open a 3G connection.

Yes, there is a way. Just go to settings-->connectins tab-->connections-->advanced tab-->select networks and select the one you want to use.
In WIFI settings you have to select the same connection at the "connect to" option!

Thanks for the reply, but I have some trouble following you guide. First in my Select networks I have to networks, “3” and “Arbejde”. 3 is the name of my ISP and the one that’s currently selected to be used by programs needing access to the internet. In my Wifi “Connect To” option I can’t select the “3” I can only select between “Arbejde” and “Internet” which is just to default networks.
So my question is still the same, how do I make the diamond use a wifi connection if one is present else enable a 3G connection and use that.

Err... in my case, the way it works is.. if I connect to the Wifi, then 3g gets disabled for as long as I am connected to a Wifi network..
If Wifi is available and you ARE CONNECTED (just available isn't good enough, you have to be connected), my Touch Diamond doesn't use the 3G.

The Internet option i am talking about have a description saying that its for use when connection to a VPN connection. My Wifi is active and if i change the setting in the Connection tab to use "Mit Arbejdsnetværk" the wifi works perfect for the browser etc.
Not sure what I or the danish rom i have is doing wrong. But i cant get it to use the wifi if its there, if not use the 3G.
If anyone have any ideas please let me know, thanks

quick question. I m moving place soon and I wont have any internet access in my new place for probably 2 weeks or so. Can I use my xperia as bridge to connect with my laptop to the internet? and if yes, can somebody talk me through how to do that?
Moreover, I have an data flat with Vodafone Uk .. would this also count if I start the handy to connect to the internet over the laptop? or are there any restrictions I should be aware of?

use your phone as a modem
yes u can use your laptop/pc to connect to the internet:
1.use your internet sharing program on your phone(must have activesync installed on your laptop)
2.install this software on your phone: wmwifirouter or mobile wi-fi router.
you have a flat data plan, its exactly the same as when u use data on ur phone, as long as u dont change any setting on it.

or if ur laptop has bluetooth ur good to go.. or if it doesn't and u don't wanna pay for wmwifi router u can just use the usb cord.. works fine for me whenever i'm at school or the library
cool thanks guys .. yep I was thinking of just having the phone connected via USB to my laptop and kind of hoped that would be enough. What do u guys think about the data transfer? Do u think my provider is gonna make any trouble if I use data on my laptop? Obviously I wont be hardcore youtubing all the time but at least basic things like facebook or chatting (not speaking) on skype I was hoping to be able to do.

u had paid 4 that data plan right? no matter how u use ur data, just use that data as u need, thats what flat data plan 4..

I recently bought my T-Mobile G1 and well I can't use GPRS and Wi-fi. I have gprs settings on my phone and it works on youtube application and on google maps but my browser doesn't work neither on gprs nor on wi-fi .And I have tried like 4 diffrent places to get wi-fi connection and it says connected but like i mentionedbefore browser doesn't work and even programs that work with gprs like google maps dont work . Can anyone help me ?

Did you turn on the roaming option under the celluar settings? It might be on the "Don't roam" option, so it actually stops the data connection once you enter a roaming area.
