[Q] Need Help ASAP

My g1 isnt working with win 7.. I connected it but windows doesnt seems recognizing it...i installed android SDK manager, usb drivers from it but nothing happening....
any suggestion???
What isn't working? Are you trying to access sd card or ADB into the phone?
SD card: make sure to enable USB drive mode on you phone.
ADB: Set-up your SDK per numerous guides here on XDA or elsewhere. Download PDAnet to your computer, it will install required drivers (seems to be the best way around it). Make sure to enable USB degugging under development settings on your phone.
Good luck.
yup im tryin to access memory card but win 7 doesnt seem to recognize my fone, nothing happen when i connect my fone through USB...
n ya i enabled USB debugging but it dint work either...\and there is no Mount Option showing in fone either....
So there's nothing in the notifications saying "USB connected, Select to copy files to/from your computer?" Sounds like a bad cable/port/card to be honest.
I recently upgraded to W7 and it detected my phone and installed drivers automatically.

Cant mount CD into PC

Hi all,
I'm currently using MIUI 2.1a released in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588360
I connect my phone into pc and toggle on the mount usb storage but i cant see the external drive in my computer.
I tried it with diffrerent PC's and reflashed the same ROM result is the same. Any ideas?
PS:It was working before.(with this ROM) after a certain thing(dont know what) it happened.
Try reinstall the LG-drivers from the LG-page.
Could try usb debugging and check to see whether your PC even recognises ur phone using the command "adb devices".
Then if ur phones is recognised it should install drivers automatically (if ur on windows 7).
If not then as @pacos1 said, install the LG United Mobile Drivers either through the lg P970 support page or through their update module.

Problem connecting phone to computer...

Hi, I am hoping that someone can help me before I throw my phone out the window. I'm currently trying to enable 3G/4G speeds on my phone for T-Mobile and have gotten to connecting the device to my computer.
For some reason, when I press volume up and plug the phone in (without the battery and sim card), I get "LG Mobile USB Modem" in device manager. When I try navigating to the appropriate drivers and installing them (C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LG Android Driver), my computer tells me that Windows was unable to install the drivers. What gives?

Can't connect to USB after update (CDC Serial, MTP problems, Windows XP)

When I connect my device to my computer, it can't find the hardware to install and eventually after cancelling these it will show no folder but it will recognize the camera but everything in that folder is blank. I'm using Windows XP SP3 which was recently formatted, and I recently updated my phone to Android 4.3. Device is unrooted and running on stock ROM.
Also note that my computer is saying something about CDC Serial and my phone says it's in MTP mode. I have tried enabling and disabling USB debugging to no avail. The first time I connect after starting up the computer, I see the HTC sync manager in my J drive but after changing the debugging, it will only shows an empty disc drive there.
On the "Safely Remove Hardware" it does show my device under the J drive under Mass Storage device but there is no J drive on "My Computer". It can be safely removed.

I guess Windows XP doesn't have out-of-the-box support for MTP. Mind you, XP is quite old by now and in the times when it was new, there weren't a lot of MTP devices out there. Instead, there were tons of PTP (Picture transfer protocol) cameras, which is what Windows tries to use to communicate with your phone. (MTP is an extension of PTP, if I understand that correctly.)
As for how you might be able to fix this, you can try something like this with a vendor ID value of 0bb4 and product ID 0f63 (So, this string: "%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0F63&MI_00"; those are the values from my Butterfly S, yours may differ).

I tried this, it does reset the connection so that the installer for Sync Manager shows up but once again the same thing happens again.
It wants me to find CDC serial after I install Sync Manager which does not detect the phone, then it brings up something as ridiculous as "please unplug and replug your device to update the drivers"...
At the end of thy day it still says the same error message that it cannot install something...
On my Windows Vista laptop the CDC Serial problem is present again but the phone is recognized under "Portable Devices" while in my XP desktop it will only be recognized as a camera, even though I already installed the MTP kit.

bleh, doesn't work... still asks me to find stuff to install "Android phone" and "CDC Serial", it can't find anything so it tells me "a problem occured in installation"
on my laptop with Vista, it asks for CDC serial but this isn't needed I can access my internal storage and SD card as the phone still appears under "portable devices", but it does not show up on Sync Manager (don't really care about this anyways)
I might just get an SDXC card reader as all my pictures are on the microSD card. Unfortunately my current card reader can't read SDXC only SDHC -__-
it will eventually show up as a CD ROM drive that is either empty or it's the installer for Sync Manager

MTP file transfer trouble in Redmi-4A

I have rooted Redmi-4A. I have supersu 2.79. My MIUI version is MIUI Global 8.2 | Stable 8.2.1.0 (MCCMIDL).
My USB debugging option is enabled.
I tried the following android applications but failed to get access to the MTP file transfer mode through my phone to PC.
1. MTP enabler Release 3.3
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-mtp-enbaler-t3263467
2. QCustomShortcut application
3. MIUI Usb settings
I can select the MTP mode easily in the phone using the default method and the 3rd party apps that I listed above but my PC does not detect my phone. The ADB drivers are installed on my PC. However, my PC detects insertion of USB device and shows a notification upon insertion and taking out of USB cable connected to the phone.
I tried using MI PC suite and it also is not detecting my phone.
Have you tried installing the USB drivers? USB driver is NOT the same as the ADB driver. Google "Redmi 4A driver" and install the USB drivers.

Yes, I tried with both of these options but failed.
Hmm, that leads me to think that something's wrong on the PC's side. Can you boot up a Linux distro and see if you can transfer files there?

You can easily create a bootable Ubuntu USB and test the phone in the live session (i.e. without installing it).
I am currently getting that error with my phone. Not sure but it could happen because of the computer. I have two os in my computer. Win10 and Linux mint. Win10 can detect my phone without an issue but mint not. With usb debugging on I can use adb in linux but still no file sharing.

Yes and no I mean both. Got same issue in different times with different phones. When the time I use crunchbang I would able to fix it. (by installing things on crunchbang not on the phone). But this time, I did not try to fix actually. I am connecting my not rooted phone only for android studio. It detects it. I can install my apps and can test them. But I cant see my phone in file manager. Thats the story.
the same thing is happening to my wife's rooted 4a and her sisters unrooted one
the same for my not rooted one, I've seen my phone one day in windows 10 explorer (this day it makes 10 seconds to see and when reconnected I could see it one time over 2), but the next day nothing more, I spent hours to try fixing it and have a few computers (all with windows 10), I think it's a miui problem not letting windows acces to the storage.
I have a part of a solution, have ejected my sandisk 64GB SD card, found it was formatted in exFat, empty it in windows, put it back in redmi, after redmi search errors I clicked on the notification and saw a few remaining folders and files, so I went to storage to format the sd card, after this the sd card (and only it) was visible in Windows explorer, but only in MTP (without usb debugging), but the copy from the PC is a kind of erratic (drag and drop 1 folder full of subfolders and files is ok but selection of 10GB gb folders and files to copy stops after the first file copied...), I don't understand how one day I manage to see correctly internal storage and sd card...
edit: today I can see the sd card as empty in windows explorer despite of properties shows it is not, and impossible to copy anything...
So i use now a turnaround, I tried airdroid but device folders were shown as sd card(?), but tried another app "gestionnaire de fichiers" flashlight + clock which can activate ftp service (edit: I have seen after that file explorer from miui could, but it hangs before I found the soulution)
so I type on chrome ftp://192.168.0.45:1234 (1234 is the port number you can choose) with the phone on my box with wifi and all (device ssytem androïd too) is accessible (but to copy to the sd card I would have to use a ftp client).
EDIT: Eureka! I uncheck the fictive sd card optimisation (optimisation de la carte sd fictive in french) option in developper's options and all is ok.
---------- Post added at 05:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:22 PM ----------
So for me to access both sd card and internal device memory in USB in Windows 10 for my not rooted xiaomi 4A miui global miui 9 global 8.1.11 beta android 7.1.2N2G47H
I had to:
-activate developper's mode (7 taps on Miui version)
to activate debugging usb (seems better)
-unactivate fictive sd card optimisation (windows and airdroid do not understand internal memory like a sd)
-format the sd card in the phone (in stockage menu, delete the sd card)
using the MPT mode seems the better option (in "selectionner la configuration usb" in french in developper's mode options) or with the notification when usb is connected.
For me Adb drivers were ok.
And there was a problem with file explorer that hangs when "fictive sd card optimisation" was activated, so even redmi can't access to sd card when this option is on...
