if you want you don't even need to rename it; just select 'install zip from sd' and then 'choose zip file'. simple as pie

True enough, I'm so used to the original methods they're just ingrained in me.

Works just fine. Thanks, ejhart.

works. thanks!

Running it now as well. Should help the extended battery last even longer.

Installed and working well... No obvious ill-effects on function or performance- too soon to tell how battery life is affected, but it seems like I'm seeing some improvement. Thanks for the upload.

so what exactly does this do? it feeds less power to the processor under the basis that the processor should still have the exact same speed?

nevermind, but if anyone else has the same question the answer is yes

Can someone confirm the kernel version? I have no idea how to confirm that it flashed correctly.

Are there any side effects to lowering the voltage? Power savings / Hardware longevity / less heat are obvious advantages; however, what kind of performance hit are we talking (in terms of benchmarks; not clock speed). Does the system run stably?

Easy as pie, rest my battery stats also. I'll try to remember to report back in a few days. Thanks again!

Unrevoked forever + radio update

Can radios be flashed with UF at anytime now with an update.zip?
Also where is a zip file for the 2.15 radio or is there anyone willing to share? It's not the same as the evo's is it?
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
To flash:
1. Place PB31IMG.zip to root of SD card
2. Power down phone
3. Press volume down and power at same time
4. It will ask to update...press volume UP for yes
5. It will ask for reboot...press volume UP for yes
Once done...enjoy.

It already saves it as PB31IMG.zip....so just move it to root and go on with process.
That's for the splash and does not update radio. I've installed that and the update.zip and still have 2.05

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong, i have the pb31img.zip(radio update) on root of sd did the whole power down and power on with volume(down) and when i get to hboot it has
fastboot
recovery
clear storage
simlock
after 2 seconds or so it does this:
sd checking...
loading...pb31diag.zip
no image
loading...pb31diag.nbh
no image or wrong image
loading...pb31img.zip
no image
loading...pb31img.nbh

so does anyone know what the problem is?

Make sure the sdcard is formatted as fat32 and that the zip name is exactly "PB32IMG.zip", exact casing and make sure also that its not .zip.zip
OK i just reformatted the sd card to FAT32 and the file i downloaded was PB31IMG, i don't have an extra .zip, that's common mistake for me to do so it was first thing to check. ok so that fixed it. i must not have had it formatted correctly, its whatever it was stock
edit: mrozzeh and the rest of the unrevoked team, i would like to say thank you, and thanks for the personal help too.

Anytime. (10 characters blah)
Hold the optical pad and the power button...not the vol down key and give it a shot
Radio update isn't working for me. Saved PB31IMG.zip to the root of my FAT32formatted SD card, rebooted, it found the PB31IMG.zip file, went though the loading process, got the point where it said "checking" and then went back to the menu without loading the update. I've downloaded the radio update twice with the same results. I currently have the 2.05.00.06.11 radio but have not yet installed s -off. Do I need to do that first?
Any other suggestions?
EDIT: Nevermind, I installed the unrevoked forever s -off patch and the radio update seems to be installing now.
EDIT 2: Radio update updates kernal to .32 correct?

[REQUEST] Mod - stock battery meter with percent

This was packaged with an early version of voodoo lag fix - and i believe it is part of SRE - not sure who the author is - DG maybe?
It is the stock blue battery meter with a number in the middle and about 25 increments instead of the stock 4.
This would be a great update.zip or apk.
Anyone know where to get this by itself?
just grab the framework-res.apk from /system/app from SRE and put it in the same place on your phone
Thanks!
For some reason i thought there was more to it then that.

You just need to replace the new framework-res.apk with the original. If you did not back yours up, there is a stock one located here. You can use an update.zip if it is easier for you that way.

i think you'll have to take your own framework-res and modify it with the graphics and xml source files manually to get it working. they can be taken from the sre apk
can you get this to be the default green? or maybe like black with white lettering.

Hey, I'm seeing a better responsive stock browser after the update.
The issue is discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873364
The scroll is now usable on pages with big images which wasn't the case before.
I'm so happy, I have a working stock browser again.
Anyone else see the same improvement?
Also do you know of any other bug fixes?
this is OTA update not Full ROM

I did it OTA style and it did not remove root for me. Weird.
Although I'll have to flash CWM again, it seems to be broken.
So, the root is possible on the new version 2.3.6 with the update.zip of chendd ?

I'm wondering the exact same thing.
Tried to flash the update.zip thru CWM but it gives an error. Is this normal?. Maybe have the "stock recovery" is a pre-requisite to flash an OTA update. If not, perhaps I missed something to do.

It happened the same here. I think it would give the same with the stock recovery, I already tried. I restored the very first backup I done right after rooting and it worked flawlessly. Maybe this happens when we give root permissions to apps that don't deserve them
However I lost root and I just re-flashed the superuser zip file.

Nope. I tried what you did. Also pushing the app via dab. Deleting data and cache then deleting the apk and pushing the new one. Every time it said the app could not be found cause it was not installed.
Anyone else have any luck with this?
The only other thing I can think of is replacing it in the rom zip file before flashing.
Can anyone extract the boot.img for 2.3.6 and post it up?
I kind of did something silly and need it!
Previous boot images do not work with 2.3.6.
A
Never mind, sorted!
PS: Just used the superuser file and have successfully rooted 2.3.6 and installed CW Recovery 5 too.
I know the dangers, but **** it, I like having root access!

[GUIDE] How To Fix GPS Issues On CM7

Sup People.
I recently noticed that my GPS wasnt working on CM 7.1.0.1. After searching this forum I found that quite a few people were also having the same issues so i've decided to compile this guide (all credits to OP's, i'm just putting this info in one place)...
theres not much to it to be honest, its just the information on the issue is just scattered around - plus there are probably better and more complete guides out there

Then again wipe everything and restore the cm7 backup. Now gps will be working. And once gps on cm7 works, then even after a hard reset it still works. This seems to be an issue only when freshly installing cm7. This is definitely a safe method.

Click Reboot into Recovery
Flash .zip from here by going to install zip from SD card
Don't forget to wipe caches first
Reboot phone by using the "reboot" option in cwm NOT by removing the battery

Make sure you have sufficient battery charge and do not interrupt the flashing process.
I used the 3xeno and nejc121 method's above. Downgraded my CWM (which is only temporary if selecting through ROM manager) then flashed the 20.10 radio. 3xeno recomends flashing the 19.25 radio first to see if that works but i went straight for the 20.10 = WORKING GPS

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE. IT IS YOUR DECISION TO GO AHEAD WITH THESE MODS SO ONLY YOU CAN BE BLAMED FOR YOUR ACTIONS

In simple terms.
1.gain temp 2.5.0.7 cwm via Rom manager or temp update zip if your on a newer version already.
2. Flash 19.25 or/and 20.10 radio.
3. Reboot.
I have NEVER wiped anything to flash a radio as it has no influence over caches whatsoever.!!!!
Whenever I had gps issues I just flashed the 19.25 radio then test gps. Then re flash 20.10 radio. Never failed me yet. Lol.
