ShootMe photos not showing in gallery - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I use ShootMe, I cannot view the image in my gallery until I reboot. Running CM6 nightly, but have noticed on other roms. Anyone know what its causing this?

The sd card needs to 'reload' to see the new pictures.
You can unmount and remount the sd card, then the gallery will update and see the new pics.
Or if you use Switch Pro widget, u can make a reload sd toggle and tap that, and it'll do it for you.

Much appreciated

Download sdrescan is another option too and usually faster than unmount/remount.

[Q] Motorola Droid and CM6

I have a Motorola Droid, and I have rooted and installed CM 6 on the phone, I have some widgets, including the Power widget, and whenever I restart my phone, all of the widgets have the semi-transparent box with the words "problem loading widget". Is there anything I am supposed to do to make sure this doesn't happen, or is it a problem anybody else is having?
Do you have power widget on sd card, if so will have to move to internal storage or that will happen everytime restart phone

Thanks for the quick reply, my power widget was on the phone memory, but I use launcherpro, which was on the ad card, and switching that to the phone memory fixed my problem. Thanks in you for your help

Apps to SD?

Is it the norm to move/install apps (that support it) to the SD? I'm thinking moving mine, but does moving disturb anything? Will I be able to update the apps regularly still?
Sorry for the noob question
You can move any App that has the ability to be moved. They will update regularly and you should not have any problems. That being said there are a few Apps out there that will lose some features if moved to the external like the jorte calender when moved to external you will lose the capacity to use the widgets. Hope this helped!

Hm. I use Jorte...I guess I'll leave my widget apps alone just in case.
If I were to change my SD card (for a bigger one) I guess I'd have to move them back to the phone and then back to the new card?
It is my understanding that you would not have to but I am sure that if I am wrong that someone more experienced than me will post a correction. I have taken my sd card out when the phone had been worked on by at&t and the Apps that were on sd still worked

a few catches do exist. you can't create a widget for an app that is on SD. Also some apps don't work reliably when on SD, e.g. sms backup's auto backup feature doesn't work if the app is on SD.

[Q] Changing where camera stores its pics

I can't seem to find a way to change the camera setting so that it saves the pictures to the external sd card. Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks
Go to settings on camera app and scroll down. Change storage to memory card

Thanks @indie, I didn't even try scrolling down. I was wondering why there were so few settings.

When ever I move something to my external sd card it seems to go somewhere and I can'

What are you using to move them? Is this just on stock ROM? Are you rooted? More details, please.

Ok so you're not using an app designed specifically for moving other apps/etc to your SD then. With that being the case you'll need to be very careful in where you're pulling the data from if you expect it to continue functioning as it used to.
You mentioned initially that your moved pictures and videos still show up in the app drawer but are greyed out and say not installed....this is a bit confusing as pictures and videos are usually just single file images or single file video clips and would not ever actually show up in the app drawer and are instead accessed via an app from the app drawer like Gallery or Google Photos, etc. Generally speaking, the apps themselves are usually much smaller than the total amount of space taken up by your videos or (if you have a lot) pictures....you don't even need that many pictures to start adding up to a respectable size if they are all High Quality images.
So, I would recommend you attempt to undo the moves you've made thus far (though if you can't get the apps to show back up as normal then just reinstall them then clean your SD card and internal memory with a junk cleaner) and focus solely on ".img, .png, .mov, .mp3, .gif, .jpeg, .mp4" or any other similarly formatted files if you're doing the moves freely with a root explorer like ES.
If you really want to move your apps over, or at least some of them, try using an app specifically designed for that purpose as this will hopefully ensure they continue to function after the move.....If you're on the stock ROM you should be able to move the apps just by going to Settings > Storage I think or Settings > Apps. One of those two (pretty sure it's storage but I'm on AOSP rom atm so can't check sry) and then click on one of your apps you should get options to Force Quit, Clear Cache, Clear Data then below those you should see a Move to SD option.
Hope this helps! Let me know if I wasn't clear enough or you have further questions^^
No you were very clear I wasn't clear when I said the pictures and videos in the app drawer I should have said from the gallery they where showing up as an empty space Now I believe my card was just going corrupt because it's corrupted now

i have this issue as well. When i transfer files like pictures and music from my internal to my external it says its transferred which is cool but when i reboot the device the files are gone. I have tried the sd card fix apps in the play store and it says its fixed but obviously not. It wont let me format either on the computer or on the phone or it says it does but it actually doesnt. So i have lost all hope on what to do i dont want to buy another card if this is going to happen to it.

Well, true, it doesn't work properly,
however,
if you select under settings:
Settings/More camera controls/"Use Storage Access Framework"
and afterwards pick your sdcard location,
the pictures you take are stored to the sdcard....
unfortunately....the gallery won't display them until after the phone is rebooted.
Strange stuff.
You can look at the pics right away inside a file manager though... (annoying..yes)
Do any of the Camera2.api type settings work?

I just came in here to see if anybody else was having this problem with Open Camera. Seems to be a problem with the media scanner. Using a media scanning app is a temporary workaround but not ideal.
With open camera de can save pictures in raw format???
