INSTRUCTIONS!
1.Your Device must be in DOWNLOAD mode to use ODIN.
2.Get your phone into Download mode by holding vol down and power.
3.THEN connect your phone to the USB. (some folks have had luck doing it in reverse..connecting the USB then Power and vol down)
4.Open Odin and load each file with it's corresponding field..PIT,PDA,CSC etc. (In this case we just use the PDA and PIT)
5.Don't check anything else, the other two boxes should be checked by default (Auto Reboot and Reset Time)
6.Hit "start"! be patient!
NOTE: COM3 worked fine for me. COM should not matter as long as you are using the correct drivers.
Finally we get some U.S love from samsung firmwares.
For those looking the Nandroid method it is in the post below but only recovers ,system, data, cache and datadata. Not your kernel/recovery or BASEBAND/RADIO (Modem.bin)
Thx to all helping work on the Vibrant. Especially Youneek, Scepterr, MS_Guru, Wes Garner, rhcp0112345, and anyone I may have forgot.

To Restore
1. Make sure you have clockwork recovery installed (To get Clockwork see this thread)
2. Extract files to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
3. Boot into recovery and select NANDroid and restore
Make sure to check USB debugging to enable ADB access after a restore.
This has been confirmed as WORKING before I uploaded. Any issues please post in this thread. Check MD5 as always after a download.
This will allow those that got stuck on a pre-release or EU ROM to go back to the shipped release TMO ROM for the Vibrant (JFD)
All the thanks goes to Koush for getting fakeflash working on the Vibrant allowing this to happen.

Came from the pre-release?
Flash the software in the first post via ODIN. The Pre-Release is garbage get back to JFD!!

Awesome.....You've just helped alot of people.

And now it begins....Nice to see you back bro!!

Thank you, finnaly! You're the man.

How would it get buried? All he has to do is re-edit his OP with updates. It'll stay up top.

My FTP is giving me fits so I'm uploading it to Multi-Share.

Maybe we should consolidate all of the stock rooted roms to one thread and users can report any problems with any of them.

we don't really have any yet.. until this nandroid is posted.. the 'stock' roms that have been posted in other threads have all been a beta pre-release from MS_guru.. and in my experience.. its pretty buggy

Great. Lets see if it restores the people who were fooling with the pre-release and had to update to the EU version.
Let us know when its up. and, tested.

You have to flash a stock captivate kernel, use the key combo, run the update package, then flash back to the JPH kernel again

won't that not work since it's a 2.2 build and we have no available kernels?
did Zilch finally make a mistake? AND I CAUGHT IT!?!?
okay i will try it
I was always under the assumption that with a 2.2 ROM, a 2.1 kernel won't boot (even to recovery, though I assume since it can get to download it can get to recovery now that I think about it) as long as you flash the JPH kernel back immediately after before you boot?
maybe I didn't catch Zilch making a mistake =(

Nope, I'm right =P
You have to use it to get the recovery so that you can use our key combos (and power as select), install the package, then flash back. The phone won't BOOT without the JPH kernel but it will get to recovery =P

the JPH kernel will be inside the flashable package. look for a file named zimage.tar
was meant to imply the kernel was in there, didn't think he wouldn't know what to do with it... zZzzzZzzzzZZZZzz

No no no, if he does that the zImage file won't be flashable, unless he's on a linux box and can repackage it.
Go to the I9000 forums and find one of the threads about rooting JPH, they have a handy zip that contains the JPH kernel and the update.zip for rooting

I curious as to why people lately have been trying the i9000 jph? Yes, I would want 2.2 also but that thing is not made for these phones and with all the people lately having trouble, why bother? Just flash back to stock, use adb if buttons don't work, and load Eugene's captivate hybrid. It's fast, doesn't have the att/samsung bloat, and it works without bricking our phones.

[ROM] T959UVJI6 OTA Stock ODIN Flashable

EDIT: I've modified this post and now this is the final T959UVJI6 OTA build.
BIG THANKS to rhcp0112345 AND Samfirmware.com for this OTA file
I've tested it with my phone and works PERFECT.
Flash at your own risk, I am not responsible if you run into any problems....
Like JI5 this ROM does not erase any current settings/data ...(It didn't for me anyways)
Included ZIP file contains ODIN 1.3, 512 pit file, Samsung DLLs and most importantly the flashable .TAR file.
I flashed it successfully just with ODIN and included .TAR file and all my settings/userdata was intact after the upgrade. If you're running lagfix, you should disable it. If you are running custom ROM, you should flash to stock JFD first and then flash this update on top to be safe. ( Note: Flashing to JFD will result in data loss).
Regardless, it's a good idea to create a full backup before flashing any image.
STEPS:
1) Backup your data
2) Download the zip
3) Unzip the downloaded zip
4) Turn off your phone, press and hold volume keys at the same time and plug your phone in computer to get in download mode.
[ People with hardware locked vibrants, make sure you have the drivers installed for vibrant on your PC and then connect your phone to pc with USB debugging turned on and open adb and type "adb reboot download"]
5) Open ODIN and under PDA option, browse for the .tar file in the same folder (Actual firmware file)
6) Make sure you have backed up your data in case you skipped step 1 or forgot it.
7) Click on start to begin the upgrade.
8) First boot will take some time so just be patient, and you're done.

So it's not going to wipe then, eh? Because when I flashed JI2 it cleaned my phone.
Correct, the JI5 and JI6 are close to final builds hence they don't wipe...but again this is something I've noticed. You should do the nandroid backup just in case.
Currently doing one just did a Titanium Backup.
Can someone mirror this? I can't get it to download

It is with the 2e recovery, but the 3e from Untermensch is VERY easy to install. Just copy the "recovery" file into the /system/bin/ directory. If you use the version that disables checking, not the one with the key... it's slightly easier to install.
Brick!! help Odin not working.

Recovery is not working on this ROM, I flashed it because someone was supposed to buy the phone from me this weekend, and this morning when I tried to get it into recovery, it just sits there and hangs at the Vibrant screen both if I am trying to get into recovery and trying to boot it up normally.
When I get off work I am going to try the ODIN version to see if I can't at least get it back to stock and get a recovery working with the ROM today. I will let everyone know when I get it working.
Flash the Rom, and install the install busybox app from the market. Install busy box, reboot and then see if you can get into recovery.
It's weird, but the same issue was encountered in the aospish Rom thread and that fixed it.
"if you amplify everything, nothing is heard"
See I would do that if it didn't hang on the Vibrant screen even when I am booting up without trying to go into recovery, and I don't have my laptop handy to be able to just try to adb reboot

Flashed the one from the first post, and it booted up fine the first couple times, then I tried to boot into recovery via quick boot, and that is when everything went to hell
All of these stock ROMs are getting stuck on the Vibrant screen when dealing with recovery. Does this happen if you use the updated 3e recovery?

How to unroot my verizon tab

Alright guys i have searched and tried and tried. Currently i am on dj11 with kernal version stated as 2.6.32.9 and right below it has [email protected]#3. I am on 2.2
So what ive tried:
-I used heimdall to flash back to stock but as you can see the kernal version says im still rooted although superuser app is not installed. This causes the update to fail
-I tried to use superoneclick method to unroot but it does not work
What i want is to be stock with no root and be able to update. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
FYI i also used all the thread procedures on the forum (gizmo ninja and how to unbrick tab)
Try using this stock unrooted rom. Link below:

Don't know what the problem could be. That has always worked for me. If you go to the "System-- About Device-- System Updates" does it give you the option to update? When I have restocked mine and set up a wireless connection it always tries to download and install the update.

I don't know what to do. If it were me I would go ahead and grab the EC02 update from here: http://www.blackmugmedia.com/Android/GT/Mirror/Roms/CDMA/Recovery to Stock /
Flash that. You will have the latest official release, or you could get the VZW Leaked Gingerbread release from the Developers section. (That is what I am running on my VZW tab).
Maybe if you flashed the EC02 update and then used the going back to stock instructions it would unroot you. I have always unrooted using that rom and directions when I wanted to start fresh from a custom rom that didn't quite work like I wanted it to work.

I will give that a shot. The current gb leak is rooted. I did post asking to see if they (oldmacnut) had the unrooted version. Personally I like the rooted option but I do want to sell the tab and can't sell it rooted unless the person doesn't care. Bedside this issue the tab is fine and working properly.
Thank you so much for all your help. I will keeep you posted on the outcome.

Or sell it to someone that doesn't mind its rooted.

There is a unrooted version of Gingerbread that you can flash with Odin:
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...w-sprint-2-3-4-ef01-rooted-updated8-15-a.html
I haven't used Odin, but if you are familiar with it you might have luck with this. I think you use 7zip to extract and then use the resulting md5 file in the One Package location. You might want to look there and get that file.

http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...w-sprint-2-3-4-ef01-rooted-updated8-15-a.html
I haven't used Odin, but if you are familiar with it you might have luck with this. I think you use 7zip to extract and then use the resulting md5 file in the One Package location. You might want to look there and get that file.[/QU
I'm gonna give it a try tomorrow. I just have to make sure if I flash under phone or PDA with Odin. Don't know if you know. For phones its PDA. Not sure with tabs. Thank you so much

I just tried this.
Unzip the .md5 file with 7zip, you will get an error about no proper ending or something. Take your zimage, cache, param, dbdata, factoryfs, recovery.bin and place them in the proper locations in Heimdall. Flash your tab and let it boot up.
You should have a fully functional gingerbread without root.
I just did it on my tab.

You effin rock!!! It worked! I now have non rooted stock gingerbread. Thank you for all your help and investigation for the right files. Youre awesome. Now time to sell this baby
Or i spent so much time doing this i think im attached now hahaha
Glad it worked the way you wanted. I went back to the rooted version of Gingerbread. Everything works the way I want it to so no reason to change (for now anyway).

firstly my p1000 was froyo 2.2 and i didnt checked that and tried to upgrade it to jelly bean, that was the first stupidity of my.
while doing that i faced many problems and concluded that it was brick.
how ever i had rooted my phone with super one click root..
later when it was bricked i again rooted it with cwm recovery by help of cmd.
then it was more complex, i then tried to roll it back and installed the firmware but the firmware i installed was wrong region again it went more complex.
then from some thread, i again used odin and pit it and installed some other firmware. that didnt work so i did something with heimdall suite as it was instructed and mess something with zImage thing.. all failed.
now i ve finally came up with no solution and thinking what the mess i ve done.
please help me.
now odin dont recognize the phone.
the phone is booting till the samsung welcome screen i can also listen the sound.
it also goes to cwm recovery screen and also goes to downloading screen.
please tell me a way so that it can go to normal i am happy with 2.2 froyo only.
tell me a way, please give me download links so that i dont mess it again.
remember odin not accepting it, i ve charged the phone fully and also installed the samsung usb drivers but its not helping..

Download the guide and gb stock safe.
Jump to page 7.
Go to download mode. Connect cable. Start Odin.
You may want to remove zadig/heimdall if possible.
Better if you can get a clean PC and install driver from gb stock safe.

i am sorry for not being clear, i was talking about the mobile network.
i searched on forum, and what i understand is i have to copy modem.bin file to data/vendor.
but i dont know which modem file to copy.
You can extract modem.bin from the rom that you have downloaded.

i did that... but still not able to make any calls. my sim card is working on other phone though.
have tried flashing modem.bin and also tried copy and paste in vendor folder.
but its not working searching all over the forum but i dont know what to do
Settings>about tablet>Status> Service state : out of service / Mobile network state : disconnected / MDN : unknown
Where did you get the modem.bin from and which network you belong to.
I recommend starting by looking at gb stock safe, when you unpack there are a few modem.bin
Start with JPZ modem and stick it in /radio/ if latest cm10
Or to /system/vendor for slightly older one.

in gb stock safe, it was jpz modem file.. which i used to flash and it was flashed very well and there was no problem in anything.
later on when i upgraded for 4.1.1 it was also installed normally with no problem the only problem i encountered is i cant make any calls from it.
even the imei number is changed of my phone.
i also sticked the file in system/vendor .. i tried with the both file the jpz which i had from gb stock file and another from the firmware.
well now i trying to go for the latest cyanogen 4.1.1 hope everything get normal in it, and try to stick file in radio.
can you tell me particularly which file to copy and where ?
in gb stock jpz worked fine.. should i go for it ?
yes the same jpz modem.bin file into /radio/modem.bin
the one in the CM10 might be corrupted, who knows.
