Over the past few days, I've been playing around with some apks and zip files because I'm somewhat disappointed with how Sense 2.1 looks. For me, it is too glossy and takes away the matte niceness of Android 2.1 and the simplicity of Sense 1.5. So, anyways, with Original Sense, i'm trying to change the icons (and more, later) back to their original Sense 1.5 style.

Like the idea? Want the zip file? Ok, good! First things first though: this theme is 100% safe to use on your phone, BUT if this somehow, some way destroys your GSM Hero, leaving it in some unusable state with no possible rescue, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE. However, nothing should happen to your phone, so don't worry. =D
Update:
v0.1 is back out! I've changed all the Sense icons to their original style save for two. I'm planning to do plenty of work in with the framework in the next couple of days. That will change many of the in-app bars and icons. As always, there's more to come!

Installation instructions: Just flash it over your existing Sense ROM using recovery mode. Easy peasy.

Known Bugs:
-The theme doesn't seem to work well in Froyo Sense ROMs such as ChocolateFroyo, causing unrelenting FC notifications to appear from the Phone and Calendar apps. I'm not sure if developing for Froyo ROMs will cause incapabilities with Eclair ROMs but i will test.

Sorry about not replying to these earlier, as I haven't really been checking XDA. I also haven't used a Sense ROM in ages. And, I haven't been working on this project because I'm in school right now. Because college work takes up the majority of my time, it's simply impossible to check xda or work on this Original Sense. Once Christmas break comes, I can start working on it again.
As for reuploading the file, I honestly don't know where I put that file on my drive. I'll go search my computer and try to put it on ASAP. No guarantees though, because I honestly don't know if I still have it =(

Funny story...I actually forgot to keep working on it. Because I'm in school right now, I don't have nearly as much time to work on it as I would like to. But, because I enjoy helping out the community, I'll see if i can put out some incremental update sometime soon (maybe this weekend, but I can't make any promises).

Hi Everyone,
This theme was originally posted by RandumAccess, knowing that he is in a new job and spending time with Family, I decided to take it upon myself (with RA's approval) I updated the theme for use with RC33.
I made a few modifications to the them, namely the clock, the dial pad buttons and a few of the Icon's.
I also copied all of the original wallpaper files on the phone with the Basic Grey wallpaper to keep the size of the file down and added the original wallpapers designs into the theme so that the wallpaper gallery works as well as the functional wallpapers.
If you have any issues with this theme, please let me know and I will correct any problems that arise as quickly as possible.

Is there any way you could change it to where it doesn't have the thumb scanner?
It will make it look a little cleaner. Plus why do you need a thumb scanner to aceess your apps and everything. You already 'logged' onto the phone during the boot process.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this theme. It's been my main one, however I got tired of the thumb scanner.

Yeah, I will work on that tomorrow when I get in to work and get it uploaded during the day tomorrow. It's just a matter of changing a couple files which should take about 15 minutes

Make sure you have RC33. This is designed for RC33, the developer took lots of time to do it.
Also, where is the original wallpaper in the wallpaper gallery. I switched it to a different one, now can't switch it back. I love the original that comes with the phone and it doesn't appear to be on there. Any way you can put it up?
perfect theme with icons but it has just a little too much red, maybe if it could change it could be better, more of a neutral color maybe white or black

Again thanks to Tehseano and MoonsSpoon for their creativity and time to put this together. Tehseano has ok-ed me to port this theme to the JFv1.51 CRB43-US rom. I haven't yet finished porting the whole theme over. It's still missing the White clock mod from Stericson. And the Hero lockscreen and its modifications. Nice theme, easily flashed in seconds, really saved me the trouble of flashing to hero rom with rosie interface... maybe next update willl include the htc widgets because those are also very nice. Thanks again for this.

I found these icons on the desire forum and I was wondering if anyone could port them for our Heros. Especially the battery % with 100 power levels. I think it looks better than the Circle battery one. Also it has a few really cool icons.

hey guys, i have the first draft ready now (after messing up my ROM and not getting any sleep last night from restoring backups...), thanks to Summered for tips and Daneshm90 for REALLY handy scripts. I'm just going to get some lunch and will do up a VR12 version. Please make sure you have backups, nothing should go wrong as I have managed to get the update.zip way working. I also have yet to hear back from jercik if this is ok.
I have recreated all the images and used the standard DroidSans font for the text. Will need you guys to tell me if you think it's not readable

Note: Both of these are derived from the 'original' framework-res.apk from VR12 (I took it straight from the download. I hope that is ok???) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715728) and they will overwrite any changes you may have made yourself. If you have made changes let me know and I get give you my email address for you to send me your framework-res.apk file.

Edit: After playing around with flashing the update script (really want to nail this process down...) it appears that it doesn't apply this properly unless you wipe the battery stats before flashing. I guess it makes sense.

The original is the one that comes with the ROM and the modified is the one i changed. it's handy to have the original on the sdcard in case the modified doesn't work you can reflash the original.

Works like a charm, battery shows numbers in it
Everything is clear, and easy to read.
I was a bit sad, that none of the other icons were ported, I was kinds hoping that I will have nice colours

Edit: Ok here is a new update I have kept the same font as the previous one (will leave the other one as you all seem happy with it ) and added new ones for charging. Please let me know how it goes. Also just so you guys know I'm not on VR12, I'm on the standard but rooted 2.1. So I am testing on that and then copying the necessary files over to the VR12 framework. So I am kinda doing it a bit blind :/
Hopefully the charging icon is smooth, my phone has too much charge to test the whole range. If needs be I can add more steps

You’ll need to install the latest version of LauncherPro (0.8.5 or higher) to use LP Sense WidgetPack. (Of course the Market Unlocker needs too)
After installing the apk, go to Preferences -> LP widgets settings -> *any* widget -> Select skin -> LP Sense and restart LauncherPro.

I have installed this on my HTC Desire Running CM7 RC2 so i could make it look like GingerSense using this theme too, except when i choose the default dock background it appears all glitchy...not curved like it's supposed to but a black square instead? I did also try restarting the launcher in hope that may fix it, but nope

IMPORTANT - If you are running CM7 with the theme updater, you need to modify your themed apk to remove the com_fede_launcher from the redirections.xml.

Uninstall GO-SMS
Install this version
Go to the notification settings, select which one you want
the previews of my icons are already there so you can see them already.
MDPI Version is delayed a day because I forgot my laptop's charger on my drive to San Diego, sorry guys. Working on them now. Anyone want more colors?

1 day delay (sometimes less) and I just up my own site so we should'n't be getting anymore 404s from dropbox.

Planning on making Gingerbread Facebook Icons since the current facebook icons are for ≤Froyo and it pisses me off how it doesn't match.
I Just finished Facebook's GB Icons, Gonna test and upload them soon.

Actually they'll be up a bit later than 20min, more like 2-4 hrs, my gf got mad at me and disconnected the router while I was editing.my site, now I havento.republish to my site via wifitether on 3G which has like 500kbps upload. -____-

Ahh finally Download Here! This is Facebook, MDPI GO SMS on its way!
how hard would it be to port over the sense icon to gosms as well? i am going to be using a sense theme and an aosp based theme (green hornet) off and on on my cm7 install and was wondering how hard it is to get the icons packaged in... if its not to hard and you wanna teach me I can do the sense icon myself as far as compiling, I just have never pulled and recompiled apk files so I dunno how easy it is. Thanks again these icons look fantastic I havent gotten the new update because the icons are better then the updates they put into gosms.

Shouldn't be hard at all, really all it is for the most part is extracting the icons from Sense's MMS.apk, dropping them into GOSMS's HDPI folder, Renaming the appropriate icons to that Go SMS recognizes them. I could even include it in the same APK so you can just change it from settings when you switch themes. I'll get it up in a couple days, Im working on another mod right now.
Well any mods you want another test or any helping hands please don't hesitate to ask. Ill run anything on a dinc cm7.
