OK first let me say I love this forum. It is a great resource for information about my cingular 8125 along with containing GREAT applications. One thing that would be great is an update to this place. As it stands it seems like the forum is very confusing to me.. and to others. It is getting harder and hard to find stuff. I have tried the search and I must say it is darn near impossible to get any type of response that you are looking for from it. Even if I know an exact phrase from a forum it will not return anything. Then when I type in one work of the phrase I get a million hits.
I think it would be great if the search worked much better. and the thread layout was a little cleaner.
That is just my 2 cents which according to my wife (and the way the US Dollar is holding up) is worth about nothin'
Have a great day,

Slide To Unlock-ish app

Does anyone know if there is something similar to the Slide to Unlock on the iPhone? But not something that is an exact copy, cause i dont want my kaiser looking like a pansy iPhone. I found one, but it says that it is for WM5.
Also I want it to be bug free, and not freak out when i get a call or text (like some of the posts that i have read).
Thanks for the help.
I am now a mind reader..... right?
Did you bother to try S2U ??????
...delete double post
Yes there is a very good application that serves this purpose. I'm not going to tell you what it is though. Hmmm, I wonder what you could do to find it? I'm not really such an asshole, I just get fed up with laziness. There was absolutely no point in creating this thread. Press the search button, and type in "slide to unlock". Easy as that. Plus you don't even have to wait for someone to reply. I don't see how it's easier to start a new thread and wait for someone to answer, than it is to press search and type 3 words. Just sayin.
I did do a search. All i could find was the slide to unlock that seemed to be for WM5, which is why I asked. I clearly stated that in my question as well. I wasnt satisfied with my search so i started a new thread. You didnt have to answer if you were just going to tell me what i should and should not do. Im just sayin.

Then I will not tell you what you should do to download the application that you want. Instead, you will have to search for it I guess, huh? Im just sayin, bro.
wow. you have the maturity of a third grader.

The program you are looking for is called s2u2. It is pretty bad-ass. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it has similarities with the Iphone. Sorry for making an example out of you I just get SO fed up sometimes with people not searching. No hard feelings I hope.

Is it worth it?

I'm not sure whether I'm posting this in the right topic, but I was wondering if it was worth switching from a two-years-old Universal to a brand new Kaiser?
I mean, how long does it look until someone can come up with a proper video driver?
Will the apps that run on a Universal run on a Kaiser too?
What about speed? Screen size? The hardware in general?
How "upgradeable" is it?
I'd like to find out the things they don't give you in reviews, from people who have actually used the device, not just took a fleeting look at it.
Thanks for your help in advance!
There are many many many many other threads about this same exact thing. Seek them out, read them and then then reply/post to those threads, please.

The question is very subjective. In the most extreme case, if you're trying to decide to put food on your table or upgrade to a Kaiser from your Universal, I'd definitely say that it's not worth it
It's also a very opinionated question. Some fan boys will say yes w/o even knowing about the Universal. I like to steer clear of opinions and offer you raw facts. Take a look at this site for the tech comparison and you can be the judge.

Sweet, just what I was looking for, it would seem! Thanks a bundle!

Marketplace reply/comment system

I know that noone would be able to implement it here but just to explain something I was thinking about. I was thinking it would be nice to be able to reply to a comment in the marketplace and have it show as a sub-comment beneath the original comment and you can select it to read it.
My main reason for wanting this is just to spread the idea, maybe it will be put in one of the newer non google marketplaces...
it would be nice if users didnt post moronic, or rude comments. but thats life.
it would also be nice if developers had access to comments and who was commenting.....
truth to be told the people at google are working on "bigger" things.....

You are far from the first person to suggest these improvements. I can't stand that people are able to say anything they want about my app I cannot reply. When someone says something false I would like to be able to set the record straight and when someone has a questions, it'd be nice to be able to answer them. But then again, when someone has a question, comment, suggestion or complaint they should be emailing the developer rather than leaving a comment on the Market. One of the biggest problems I have is the outdated comments. There are people that give four stars because of the lack of a particular feature and when that feature is added, they don't upgrade their rating or comment. I should have the right to protest that rating/comment.
You can kind of respond by saying something like :
@usernamebelowme you are an idiot

well yeah, apples ipad. ok?

I have seen a lot of posts on other threads saying bad things about the ipad.
I dont really like it either, but the videos of it on youtube look good!
I dont own any apple stuff and dont plan to buy any because its over priced.
But check the spec:
About 0.5 inch thick,
9 inch screen.
Book viewer
Movies!
multi touch.
Pretty good init?
I still can not see many being sold. it might sell more if it had mac os on it.
Then it could be used like a tablet pc. Which would make sense them bringing out a portable version of there desktop.
Seriously, check the vids

Thank you. Please close this thread.
flyboyovyick2k9, read through everyone's posts on the other one and you'd realize that there's a pretty good case against all that you mentioned. Don't be afraid to read through everyone's post.
When you do, you'll realize that everyone on XDA is worthy of listening to. Stop skipping posts just to start your own thread.
CLOSE.
As stated please use current threads rather than making new.
On that note thread closed.
