Do not buy the seidio innocase II - Droid Incredible Accessories

After reading such great reviews of this case I ordered it. I've been using it about a month and it's great. The rubber feel is nice, the case is durable and protects the phone well, very thin so it doesn't make your phone too bulky.
BUT
The damn rubber coating is flaking off all over this damn thing!!
I take pretty good care of my phones, there is no reason for this. It lives in my front shirt pocket by itself or placed on a flat surface.
Slowly the rubber coating is deteriorating and I'm left with a cheap plasticy case. I contacted seidio about this and received a "copy-and-paste" computer response to send in proof of purchase, pictures etc. It honestly isn't worth my time and am really upset on the garbage quality of the case. I'm going to pickup the silicone verizon case next...

I recently bought this case too, but I haven't experienced any of the problems you're describing yet. I don't notice any peeling on mine whatsoever, but then again I've only had the case for a few weeks. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Haven't had that happen to me. Had mine for about a month now.

I probably got a bad batch then, but if you notice it happening update your posts in here.

Had two of these (black and purple) for my wife and me, not had this issue on either and bought them in early July.

I have the same case, I've seen a few spots where it's flaking off or rubbed through. I will have no qualms about making them send me a new one when it starts to really look bad. I know some people that have already gotten 3 or 4 replacements. They are a good company, let them fix it for you - even if they have to fix it over and over again.
Rather than coming in here and claiming the case should not be bought by anyone, stop the drama and send them what they want so you can get a brand new one. Why would you spend that kind of money and then blow it off because you're too lazy to send them a few things??

It's good to know that they will cover it if this ever happens to my case, thanks for the info.

does this case push up the screen protector? i recently purchased a case from ebay and thats the problem im having. im having a hard time finding a case that will protect my phone without pushing up the sides of the screen protector

Same is happening on mine and I've had it for about 2 months. In the bottom left corner, the soft rubber is coming off significantly. My first Innocase was too loose so this is my second one. After they cancelled the car dock I don't see myself using it for much longer.

Unforturnatley it does push up on my ghost armor screen protector. The screen protector itself is slighty a little to small . But it is just enough for the case to catch the edge of it and push on it. If the screen protector was an exact fit it might not do it. But all of the protectors that I have tried are never an exact fit.

I don't have this case, but was seriously considering buying it. On amazon there's a review of a guy who said it scratched his phone all up (inside the case). According to him it's happening to everyone - "just check the forums" he says. When I saw the title of the thread I expected it to be about that, but it's something totally different. Soooo... what's a good case for this thing?

It's true.
I have this case and all around the front housing (the black edge) are scratches.
Mainly they are at the top part of the case and I don't even understand what caused them.
Though I still use the case.

i am experiencing this flaking too. it's looking like ass.

No issues with mine. Had it for 6 weeks or so. If it starts flaking, I'll buy a new case. Not like it cost me 50 bucks or something.

Not trying to get you all fired up or anything, but a good company doesn't only mean they have good replacement warranties. In my mind at least it means they make a good product too. I would definitely not be happy with any company if i had to replace their product every few months and get another one. Building a brand name starts with a good product and good customer service together.
I'm not a big fan of cases and sleeves because in most cases you can "see" and "feel" the phone; i have the zagg shield on mine and i have been absolutely happy with it.

I don't think I've had any of mine long enough to have the rubber flake off. Mine have all fit like ass, especially at the top left corner. I'm on my third case since June. The bezel of my phone is all scratched up due to the poor fit allowing the case to rub dirt/dust/debris into the phone. Seidio has been very prompt in replacing the cases... The first 2 times. Now they've apparently realized they're losing their asses on shipping (the same poor quality) replacement product and are expecting me to advance ship the case at my expense before they'll replace it. They're also refusing to replace it with a different Seidio product that, I've heard, doesn't have the same issues.
In short, I agree with the OP. Don't buy the case.

Full body. Be aware though that the curved edges and sides are not covered. So in other words if you drop your phone a lot this might not be the solution for you. It's also really easy to install the zagg shield on your own but if you prefer them to do it then its $10 extra. Cheers!

This is not to attempt to discredit the OP; I've had my case for 2+ months and it still looks great and functions well. There is some contact rubbing on the corners but then again i take the damn thing in and out of the holster 100 times a day and have dropped it a few times as well on brick.

Hey guys,
This is something I see alot of with iPhone cases at the Apple Store. The most popular cases, similar to how Droid seems to favor Siedio, is the Incase Slider Cases. These are generally plastic cases, with a matte-finish paint on them (my friend has the Innocase, and it's the same material). That paint is known to, over time, deteriorate.
For every customer that comes in with it flaking away after 2 weeks, I have one that comes in a whole year later with just a tiny flake. It depends on the batch, sometimes, and from what i've been able to see exposure to heat, sweat, and sun. The more it's exposed to those elements, the more it flakes away, I believe.
Also, if you're having problems with a case pushing up your film screen, you might not have it properly aligned. With the same aforementioned slider cases and the anti-glare film screens, if you're screen is even slightly off center to the right by a smidgeon, the case is super tight and pushes it up/causes those nasty bubbles.
So, you might want to try re-appling it and making sure it's perfect center.
Hope this is some helpful information.

To protect or not to protect? Amzer?

Two parts to this question-
1st part kind of a poll. Who thinks it is necessary or helpful to put a screen protector on the T-Mo HD2, and why?
Of course I want to protect the screen on my HD2, as much as possible. I think the screen is already scratch resistant, and I am not sure if a screen protector would add anything in that regard. I don't see how a screen protector could possibly protect against breakage, or internal LCD damage.
I have seen some reports, of screen sensitivity being diminished by screen protectors.
Of course the companies that make them, will try to sell people on it. That is called "manufactured demand", creating a need that isn't there.
Your opinion? Do they really help protect the phone?
I am about to purchase some items from Amazon. I see they have one screen protector (manufacturer Amzer) for $6.95 with free shipping (if total order is more than $25, which mine is). I haven't heard of that company before, but it sounds good from the description (no user reviews). (It even says "anti-reflective" and "free from fingerprints", and those are two problems the screen has--fingerprint magnet, and very reflective. Don't know if those claims are true though.) Has anyone tried this brand? Any good?
The link for that is: http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-Screen-..._14?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1281121428&sr=8-14
They even have some cheaper, a dollar or less, with $3 shipping. Do a search on Amazon for HD2 screen protector.
The following link includes a rubber case such as the one that comes with the unit, plus a screen protector, for $1.54 +2.98 shipping: http://www.amazon.com/HTC-T-Mobile-...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281121428&sr=8-1
Another is only 46 cents plus shipping.
Are there really any differences in these? They are only tiny pieces of plastic. Seems like they should cost less than a buck, not $10 or $15, as some do.
In any case, I am thinking of getting the Amzer, as it can have free shipping with the rest of my order, and sounds good. Anyone here used it?
Still undecided though--whether there is any point in getting a screen protector at all, or just one of those "manufactured demand" products, that really doesn't help anything.
Opinions?
Between this forum and the official T-Mobile forum on their website, I'm seeing quite a few instances of shattered LCD screens from people dropping their HD2s. You'll also see that there are now many replacement screens showing up on eBay, for example. My point is that you might consider acquiring more than just a screen protector for your HD2.
I personally purchased an Otterbox Defender case for my HD2. It has a built-in screen protector as one of its layers of protection, and the multi-part case appears to thoroughly protect the phone (including from my 7 year old). There are lots of cases out there, so I'm not actually suggesting that you get one from Otterbox (and I don't work for them). Some people say, for example, the the Defender case is overkill, and makes the phone too bulky for their taste.
I'm just saying that a $100 to $300 phone might warrant more than a screen protector.
in my opinion there is no such thing as to much protection
My car has airbags everywhere ,but i still wear my seat belt
def put a screen protector, that is the first thing you do when you get a phone like the hd2
Most things break when you drop them... it's called gravity. There's no solution for clumsiness you'll have to get something like the otterbox for some gravity proof protection. I've considered getting the otterbox myself but it takes away so much of the aesthetics of the phone....
My HD2 has a screen protector and a well padded leather case.... i've been doing this for all my previous phones. Sure i've had some slips and tumbles but the leather case protects most the impacts no problems.

A tennis ball doesn't break when you drop it!
Seriously, one would think that they might have strong enough materials available today, so that a phoine would not break if dropped.
But certainly--a screen protector would not protect one iota against dropping!
What exactly, does a screen protector protect against?
Do you also put one on your laptop screen?
If scratches on the screen bother you, screen protector will help with preventing that. The HD2 is not as scratch resistance as some of the youtube videos lead you to believe. I am careful with mine and still manages to get some minor scratches on it. When it comes to preventing the phone from breaking during a drop, I think your best bet is a otterbox defender.
I put a screen protector on my HD2 I have no sensativity issues but the feel of the screen protector is obvious when you slide your finger on the screen. My wife does not have the screen protector and it feels smooth to the touch but there is no difference as far as sensativity goes I used a zagg invisible shiled.
No scratches on my screen eventhough I carry it with keys and coins in front pocket sometimes. Only cracked screen from dropping it! Getting Otterbox Commuter case for my new replacement HD2 but NO screen protector. This screen doesn't get scratched very easily at all.

Oh, and bought commuter case too. A bit late it seems though..
No screen protector would have prevented that. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Probably not, but since that incident, i'm going all out.
Thanks for the links!
I have one of the Invisible shield covers on mine & i like the feeling of knowing if the protector comes off ill get to see the screen BRAND NEW while i'm replacing the cover.
On an ass-backwards note, i also have the Body Glove case with the kickstand from T-Mobile and the only reason is for the kickstand. It feels like if i dropped the phone the case would shatter my phone would be goin to bed dead.
I am pretty careful with my stuff but as others have mentioned, theres no such thing as too much... im probably going to order that same black case though.
as for the screen, you never know... i'd rather be safe than sorry. I feel putting a $10 screen protector on a $500 phone isnt a big deal.

Well, materials like that do exist, ones that could make the phone near indestructable. Unfortunately, they're prohibitively bulky or expensive and would jack up the price and/or size of the phone. The treated glass used on the screen is the best attempt at a compromise on this that's really available.
I've honestly been using my HD2 since March with nothing but the rubber cover that HTC provided in the box, and I have yet to get a single scratch on it...but, I know I'm probably just fortunate with that. I have a screen protector on my TP2, and I know that it's definitely saved me from scratches on a number of occassions....but then again that screen isn't anywhere near as hard as the one on the HD2.
I've got an otterbox commuter series case on the way now, but I'll probably try it without the screen protector at first. I reeeeeally like the feel of the bare glass

Corning developed a glass many years ago that was dubbed "Gorilla glass" for its toughness and durability. I used to work summers for them, and at the time it was a nice invention that no one could find a use for -- we didn't have widescreen computer monitors or HDTVs, or cell phones, for that matter. Besides, it was considered expensive to manufacture. I read recently that Corning is now testing this old, very tough but thin glass for use in large TV screens and, soon, for cell phone screens. Maybe this will increase the durability of the touch screens for future phones. But for now, cases and screen protectors (should) rule the day.

Yes, actually Gorilla glass has already been used on a cellphone (or more than one perhaps), I belive the Motorola Droid was the first one. From what I understand, the HD2 doesn't have the acutal Gorilla Glass, but rather some similar hardness treatment.

And to add to the whole screen protector on mine. I never had one until I dropped it and it landed face down on a pile of small hard dry rocks. Then slid across the ground. It made two small but noticeable deep scratches.

I should have figured that. I'm just not a fan of paying retail. Otterbox sells their cases for 50% more than sites like Amazon, NewEgg, and eBay. Now that the U.S. version's supply is becoming more available my guess is that these places will begin selling the U.S. version as well.

[Q] Seidio Rugged or otterbox?...

I am having a hard time deciding between the seidio Rugged or one of the otterbox cases. I am a contractor and need a protective case badly. I have had the incredible since launch. used the case/belt clip combo from verizon store...the one that doesn't cover the ends...dumb case imo. and ended up taking that off recently to just slide phone in pocket, as that case didn't protect the phone very much at all. but the best one available at the store at launch.
I ended up having to get a replacement phone, and recieved it today. I want to be able to protect this one better.
Physical damage and dust are both a problem durring work hours.
I wish I could find these new cases at a local store to compare in person.
Has anyone seen both of these types of cases?
which do you like better, and why?
I am leaning toward the seido because of the two different cases that come with it. I like to slide the phone in my pocket on weekends.
thanks,
Jon

Oh wow, your story is a direct parallel to mine! I am a mechanical contractor (HVAC/R) who also has the incredible since launch, I myself have been using the the belt clip and shell that resembles diamond plate sold by verizon, an ok case but just doesnt cut it in the trades.
A month ago I bought the Otterbox defender, while it covers the phone well and adds much better protection, the fit of the phone inside is poor, I broke the belt clip two weeks into owning it. Otterbox did replace the belt clip but the time it took was almost two weeks. Just a few days ago the little detent on the otterbox that holds the phone in the holster broke so now I'm back to square one.
Just yesterday I decided to ordered Seidio Rugged case from amazon, I never owned nor held one but I figured it would be money better spent rather than buying another otterbox. I just don't think the otterbox quality is quite there. I expect to have the new case on or around 1-06-2011 and after I get it and put it to use I will update you on it so you can make a better decision.
thanks for the response...
I have read about different peoples experiences with these different cases, and still wish I could see them in person before purchasing. I am really close to going ahead with the Seidio Rugged, and might order it today.
Jon
I'm also a contractor installing satellites and am very happy with the Seidio Rugged.
What sold me on the Seidio Rugged was the "Face In" design and the 3 layers of protection. Sure, the 3 layers adds mega thickness but doing all the "cell destructive" stuff I do, it's a very minor thing to deal with. In fact, the few times I've taken the case off, the phone felt too small and fragile.
On the second Seidio Rugged case simply because in a stupid moment just grabbed the phone and ripped it off my belt instead of taking the clip off. No idea what was thinking but needed a new clip so just got the whole thing again.
But yeah, if you use a tool belt, climb ladders, crawl under houses, or any of the crazy dirty stuff contractors do, get a Rugged.
landscape installer/maintainer here. go with the seidio. im hard on all my stuff. and i have had the rugged for 6 mo. and havent destroyed it yet. locking mech. and belt clip still work fine. and the 3 layers on the actual case is very protective.
got mine on amazon for under 40 shipped.
seidio rugged here also.. best case Ive used...
I ordered the Seidio rugged today.
looking forward to it getting it here...
My Seidio Rugged outer skeleton snapped yesterday. I wasn't applying any pressure, just taking it off and snap. So I ordered a Case-Mate Tough Case. I'm sure it will work just fine.

This happened to mine as well. Seidio is good about replacing it....no real need to buy a new case. At any rate I recommend the rugged case. I have dropped my phone more times than I would care to admit and this case has saved it a few times over. I figured my exoskeleton was weakened from all the drops...and I had the tendency to take it off and put it back on for no reason when i got bored. Also it looks bad *** in my opinion...
Well as I explained in an earlier post I have been using the Otterbox Defender and while it offers more protection than other cases I have used it simply seem to lack quality and convenience. I did order the Seidio Rugged case to give it a shot and to my suprise when I came home from work today my rugged case was delivered. I wasn't expecting it until 1-06-2011.
I have to say after getting my phone in it and set up my initial feelings are it appears to be a well designed case that offers very nice protection to the phone and actually adds less bulk than the otterbox. I have not used it in the field yet but I will update after a day or two in the field. But I must say at this moment I am very pleased with my decision on the Rugged case and am kicking myself in the but for not making it my first my first choice.
received the Rugged case today....
the case was in the mailbox today.
I am impressed with the case. and will feel a lot better about the protection for my Incredible phone when on the job site. When all of the case components are on the phone, it definitely adds quite a bit of bulk. That will be something for me to get use to, for sure. But, I feel that it will not be a problem.
I can totally understand how some people have accidently torn the rubber access piece off that covers the micro usb port. I hope I don't tear it off, but realistically feel that it is just a matter of time, as it is a very small piece of rubber that keeps it attached...
I really like the fact that the innocase II is the base layer. I expect that it will be my weekend case.
I thought about not applying the screen protector, due to the problems i have had in the past applying screen protectors (ie...bubbles that won't go away, dust particles, etc.)...but, decided to try it. Well, it applied better than I ever could have hoped for. I started by aligning it at the top around the ear speaker, and just smoothed it out as I let it apply itself to the screen. It fits well for the most part, but could have been just a hair longer from top to bottom.
I am excited to have this case. I only wish I had not waited this long to make myself spend the money on it.
Hopefully i will be this happy with it in the coming days and weeks...

I tore the rubber camera protector flap off my rugged maybe 2 months ago now, I contacted Seidio and they had a replacement outer rubber to me within a week. They are good about replacements.
(Note I was also only a week outside of the warranty period)
Seidio Rugged is a Wonderful Case
I have had the Seidio Rugged case for about two weeks now and it's wonderful! I don't find myself using the holster much, only when I go on a run do I attach it to an armband and slip the phone in the case so I can track my runs with Cardio Trainer.
I really like the feel of the case. It makes me feel like I'm holding a more powerful phone in my hands, whereas without the case, I feel like it's just too light to perform as well as it does. lol. However, size doesn't matter as some say, and is always a personal preference.
I would definitely say get the case if you want more protection and are willing to make the phone a few millimeters thicker. I definitely worry less about my phone breaking now. My only gripe is the camera cover tends not to stay pinned back in the little restraint Seidio made for it. Beyond that, wonderful case all around and I'd recommend getting it.

Bloody hell!!!!
Have had this case for months and have FOUGHT that damn flap every time!! Never even noticed that little hole.... Use the flash light app every day almost to see behind peoples TV's and audio equipment and have always had to hold the flap down....
Thank you VERY MUCH for your post. Feel like an idiot, but happy to know it now.
As a construction worker, I was about to buy an Otterbox before stumbling upon this thread. Did some research, looked at a few videos, and I think I'm gonna settle for the Seidio now. Either way, both look like great cases and I couldn't go wrong with either. The Seidio on the other hand converts to a normal case when not on the job site, so that's where it wins IMO. Also, the belt clip looks better designed. Thanks XDA! You guys rule!
Cannot say I have ANY complaints about the rugged. Think about it this way: when you need it protected, you have 3 layers + a holster. If you want simple, but cased, you got the Innocase II underneath which still can hold its own as a case not to mention that it looks nice and slim also. The thing that sold me though was the holster. It comes with a lock switch which means that this baby aint never falling off. I can remove, unlock, lock, attach the phone all with my index and thumb. So easy, yet so secure.
However, I did have one gripe about this phone, and that was the covers for the USB port and the Headphone jack. It has no notches to pull out easily and it tends to get lost in the groove that it fits in to. At first, I was extremely aggravated that this happened and was worried I would ruin the rubber. BUT I found that when I pinch the sides of the case (which I totally forgot was rubber), the flaps would pop out like nothing.
So yes, the one thing that would have held me back was solved, and I am happy to report that this thing is a beast. Of course if you don't want a big thing to lug around, then don't get this, but I gotta say... it feels like a tank, and I feel secure taking this thing everywhere with me now. =D
I've had the rugged for quite a while...just to have it really. Being a social worker doesn't really but my dinc at risk. I do enjoy the feel of having it in the case when I do though, although it seems that sometimes the holster seems to catch the rubber a bit more than I'd like. I'm glad to see it seems to be a step above the otterbox.
i'm been using the ottorbox commuter and i've had no problem, i love it cause its not as bulky as other cases.
Ya definitely going with the seidio rugged case setup. I can do without the belt clip attachment though. I can see that breaking off within a week at work with me. But the rest of the case(s) are just what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the thoughts, I am in the same boat as you guys.

TPU Hybrid case with kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note II (Review w/ Pics)

Once I got my T-Mobile Note 2, I searched the interwebs for a case that would protect the phone and make it less slippery. The quest was not an easy one, with barely any cases available, and most being replicas with different names. Additionally, none of the ones I saw offered protection around the corners, something that I find 100% essential on a case.
So after several hours on the general Galaxy Note II Accessories forum and several pages down the Amazon hole through multiple search keywords, I found the perfect case, for the time being. The case is a basic TPU S-line hybrid with an added kickstand. Nothing new or revolutionary, I'm sure, but given the lack of choices as of yet, a good one nonetheless.
The case protects, as commented, all 4 corners, and it protrudes enough that it lets you place the phone face down without suffering any damage on the screen. The kickstand works, though this is also the biggest caveat I've found.
The kickstand is on a hinge, and, to keep the case as thin as possible, the kickstand is embedded into the case. This wouldn't be such a problem, this happens on the Seidio Active, for example. However, the case is so thin that the hinges protrude too much out of the case, causing this to be the main point of contact with the surface when you place the phone on its back. It's irritating because one would hope a case would make the phone less slippery when placed on a surface than the original plastic, but hanging from two small pieces of plastic is not much better. There's always the placing the phone on its kickstand position, and that's fine, but don't think about pushing the phone hard on this position, or you'll cause the hinge to let you shift the phone to the "second" position, and, if pushed further, down to the ground.
The kickstand hasn't broken yet, but leaves uncertainty on how long it'll last. The black part of the case is grippy, specially on its sides, with the semi-see-through material being more slippery (though this is not an inconvenience, really).
All ports are well protected, but not covered, so no worries about echo issues like in other cases.
The kickstand is perfect for watching movies on the beautiful 5.5 inch screen.
The durability of the case is debatable. While I'm sure it'll withstand some falls, its purpose is more of a "now it'll not slip off my hands every time I pull it out of my pocket" than "let's toss this sucker from a 20 ft window"
This case more than serves its purpose, and at $5.98 including S&H (shipping from MN, USA), it should be in everyone's short list of capable though cheap cases.
If your phone is naked awaiting a case that fits your immediate needs, this will suffice. If you're looking for something that protects better, is more elegant, and of a known brand, the Seidio Active with Metal Kickstand is my #1 choice. But meanwhile, until it is released, I'd rather have this $6 case than go "naked".
I'm waiting for Amazon to accept all my images that I uploaded so I can provide you with images.
In the meantime, you can check out my Amazon Review here.
>>> It comes on either Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, White. I think I've also seen red, and I'm sure you can also find it on eBay.
>>> Black one seems to be "Unavailable".
Did it come with that screen protector you have installed?
I ordered one from china might get it next year LOL and also ordered another for a note 1, hopefully is as good as this one, I've had the S-line case on my S3 and even tho it was cheap i loved it.. you keep the slimness of the phone witch is important having a 5.5inch screen on the pant pockets isn't fun, imagine adding 1cm of case might aswell get the iDevice-mini.
thanks for the pics now i know what I got into...

Yeah I tried to do it so that the selling company was located in the US, just so it wouldn't take so long to arrive because I was holding the phone naked and it was slippery as hell.
The screen protector is a SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Screen Protector Clear Steinheil [Ultra Oleophobic] [2-PACK]
Personally, I don't think the protector is the best, but I feel more comfortable about using my phone now. The safer the better. I got a scratch on my S2 with Gorilla Glass, because I figured "oh Gorilla Glass...don't need a protector". I tried to put protector when I first got it, but failed on 3 accounts. It just didn't look good. Wore it for a while till it looked even worse and I just simply removed it. And of course... Sh*t happens.
So this time, I ordered protector same time as case. Except it is fulfilled by Amazon so it took 2 days free shipping. I think the price is high, AND I have 2-3 bubbles that don't go away. Really, they aren't bubbles. They're specks of dust, and the surrounding area does not stick to the screen. I've thought about using the second protector but...uh I don't know.
"But it's Gorilla Glass 2, you don't need protector!" Not gonna fall twice for that. "But it's gonna interfere with the S Pen!" You know what, I think from time to time it does interfere. I've noticed sometimes while drawing that I might lift the pen but it still draws on the screen. Not sure if that's due to the screen protector or not...
Anyway, best of luck. Protect your phone with the first thing you find in the meantime until you get your case!
i see there's a minor bump on the kickstand that prevents the phone from laying perfectly flat on it's back. Is there' a slight wobble to it if you lay it flat and touch one side?
I just got this case in today and Im happy with what I got for the money.

well....
Since I got the Note 2 from t mobile on the day of launch, the store was not carrying any cases so I went ahead and ordered a cheap plastic case from ebay and ran to the sprint store where they had ONE SAMSUNG OEM FLIP CASE and purchased as well. As everybody knows, this samsung OEM case DOES NOT PROVIDE SIDE/CORNER protectio and since I HAVE NO GRIP hands, I had to have every kind of protection available so I integrated both covers. Here are some sample pics. I will keep this on until I get my SPIGEN case!!!!
p.s. I know it looks kind of ghetto but at least I am protected!!!

yeah I tried that with my GS3 it was too ghetto for me lol
Is this TPU case thick? I prefer thick rubber case to protect it more but might consider this since it has a kickstand

It really is thin. This may not be the best for you, but I'd say just because of the kickstand, it may hold you over until you find a better one. Personally looking forward to Trident Aegis and Seidio Active. There's also Otterbox...
I got the same but the phone won't fit well. If I manage to fit the top, the bottom won't. If I do the opposite the top won't. Did yours had this problem?

Sorry, can't help you there. I really had no problem whatsoever putting this one in. I've taken it out about a dozen times, and I've never had issues taking it out or putting it back in. I ordered the Seidio Active case, so this one will be retired soon. But while using it, my only complaint was that the stand was not reliable. That's about it.
You might want to contact the seller and get a replacement. Looks like there's something wrong with yours. Also, make sure that all ports/buttons line up, and that they didn't send you the case for the wrong phone or some such.
Good luck!
This case is "unavailable" on Amazon but there are a million of them on Ebay, in all different colors. I got one in clear because I like to show off my phone, not the case, although I know from my old iPod case that I actually like the look of a clear glass-like edge around the sides.
I just wanted to chime in that if you get the clear version, beware that it *will* stick to the back cover of the phone. It's ugly because you get these big blobs and patches, and I found it immediately unacceptable. The case only cost me $5 so I just tried sanding it down on the inside so it wouldn't stick... which technically worked, but now it's even uglier. Yeah, I ruined it, but I couldn't see using it the way it was before. I was also concerned that over time, it'd stick so hard that I wouldn't be able to get it off. Already, whenever I'd take it off, I'd hear a "crack" as it unstuck from the back cover. I'm actually still using it after the sanding and it works just fine and doesn't stick anymore, but it is ugly.
My advice is to get a solid color version of this case if you get one, and still sand the inside of it so it doesn't stick. (Though make sure it's really opaque if you sand it; if it's clear at all, you'll see sanding marks.)
I really like kickstand cases but I'm thinking now of just getting something that gives me a little better grip on the phone (like a textured back cover) and then either not getting a case at all, or getting another one of these and hoping it doesn't stick to a more matte back cover.
for those who don't like the gloss look, how about:

No, I don't have one sorry.
I just spotted it on ebay last night and thought I would post it here as an alternative for people to consider when I saw the thread earlier
I do have it in my watchlist and may purchase later, but at the moment I'm using a FlyGrip and a plain matt tpu case
The kickstand looks a bit more flush on that one. Does not seem like there is much texture in the TPU for grip though. I will let someone else be the guinea pig, but I am curious to hear about it.

Me too, I'm very curious about this case...
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
They have that one in clear now too.
It looks frosted so it probably just has a matte texture that makes it easier to grip.
I found another clear TPU case similar to the first kickstand one but minus the stand and with all 5-star reviews on Amazon... found the same case on Ebay for cheaper (under 5 bucks) so I'm trying that next. If that one still creates unsightly stickiness, I'll just go for a clear hard plastic case. I've used one of those on my iPod for literally 5 years and they are surprisingly effective and look perfect.
LOL. I ordered the clear one to try out. I am so weak and have no will power.

Anyone going naked....what are the results?

Just curious as I am using the Best Buy screen protector film and just can't stand the feel of the sharp edges etc so I want to remove it. Anyone gone a while without coverage and if so, any major scratches?
Thanks in advance
Hi @imapfsr,
using my device without a screen protector since 22/12/2016 and have no scrates
Everything should be fine if you use an protective cover for the phone.
I got an inch-long scratch on the screen where usually my right thumb roams around while it's been only a month I got this phone.
Thanks for your input....I was hoping for all positive results but I think Im still going to chance it. I do have a nice lined sleeve so I should be ok. It really is amazing how good this screen looks when you dont have anything on it so Im going to enjoy it instead of obsessing over it and keeping it mint for the next user when I sell it.
have you seen the scratch test videos on youtube for this phone? this phone is as scratch resistant as any other flashship device. i honestly have no idea what people could be doing to scratch this phone. i carry it with my keys in my pocket with zero worry about it scratching after seeing the test. i really don't know how you could scratch it unless you did it intentionally.
I occasionally use the case it came with but 90% of the time this thing is in it's Birthday suite, not a single scratch or mark on it. The Ceramic is such a gorgeous material and pretty much scratch proof! The glass used for the screen is also pretty robust. I wouldn't worry about this thing scratching... drops are what you should be afraid of!
Same here ...ive had rhis since November, I actually hate the leather case and opted for a slim transparent case from China which shows off the body...I tried to go completely naked but this phone is just waaaaay to slippery, dont have a screen protector...and wont put one one....not a single scratch...( Fingers crossed)
Most things wont scratch it, unless its "harder" than the material of the phone.
Watch out for things like SAND! and GLITTER!
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I am full on nude now...lots of hand cream to keep the phone from slipping out of my hands...no scratches on the front but surprise how quickly the ceramic back has developed tiny scratches but it still feels to good for any kind of wrap or skin.
Darn glitter ?

Mind directing me to the slim transparent case from china?
Thanks in advance.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0..._SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=xiaomi+mimix+case also have a look at case fanatic they have a few different ones ive ordered some but they haven't arrived yet.
Mine is still mint. Leather case has never touched it. I am overly careful and don't even leave it on most tables and such unless there is a soft tissue, tablecloth or anything covering the surface. That can sort of be crippling for most people. Therefore it's mostly in a pocket clean of debris. I just can't stand cases. I always opt for custom skins for the back so I can put it down everywhere. Chances of finding someone making custom skins for this device must be slim. No luck yet. May have to buy one of those ready made ones. Seen a carbon type, but seems like the choices are few. Please hit me up if anyone else are looking and finds anyone that offers custom ones. Would be much appreciated.
Maybe I'll make my own, idk.
So I am two or three weeks in with no protection, front or back, and I hate to say it but the back of my phone is scratched up pretty bad. I use a sleeve to carry it around and I'm not sure if that is what is causing it. Just curious if anyone else has had bad scratching our if it's just me.
No screen protector, no casing, no nothing. Had it since december 19th. No scratches, still pristine.
It's forbidden where I live, unfortunately.
What is forbidden? Going naked?
I never use the film screen protectors, presently [as with all my past phones] using the provided leather case [will eventually go to a flip cover case - always have them so comfortable with them].
I prefer carrying my phone naked. Especially, when it's a nice looking phone. You just have to be conscious of having your phone and grip it tight while holding it as opposed to casually holding it in a relaxed manner. Nothing will happen to it if you consciously take care of it. At best, put it in your back pocket while walking and not using it, but don't forget it's there
i have been using this naked since i purchased in September 17. Only issue is ceramic is very slippery, so use side sticker atleast to increase grip.
something like this https://www.amazon.com/Decalrus-Pro...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2PK292A230JGWCC1JQTT

I'd like to tell you about a plastic screen protector I found for the Note 8.

POST UPDATED WITH NOTE VERSION IN COMMENTS
So I'm going to cut to the chase here and say I've tried so many screen protectors for this damn phone that I'm fed up. They all sucked or had problems. Whitestone was a bear to install, got it perfect, then the sides started bubbling. Done with that. I've just been on the constant hunt for a stupid screen protector. Today was the day I gave up. I tore the skin I had on from Amazon because the edges just would not stick. It was only about a mm but it drove me nuts. I had a ring of fuzz and dust around my phone and the rubbery smudgy prone texture was just too much. I am SO FED UP with this hunt that I'm ready to take scratches, whatever.
So today while getting some crap at walmart I went to the phone section. No Note 8 protectors (it is habit to look now), but they had this one for the S8+. Those screens are similar, why the hell not I've tried everything short of lining my phone with clear packing tape.
I brought it home, applied it, patiently worked out the bubbles. Don't fret, even if you get a lot they work out easy. Have some tape near by to do the tape pull back and blot any dust spots you see. Then go through the process of getting rid of bubble again. I did this so many times because I was just doing it in a rush, thinking it wouldn't work at all, and getting dust in the damn thing. But I just kept patient and did the process over and over. It took a while, if I did it in the bathroom after running the shower it wouldn't have. IMO it worked amazingly well. It's a PET film with some flex, but it's NOT a skin. It's not self healing. It will show scratches over time, probably even more so with the Spen, but take care like you do and it will hold up well. It's not brittle like most older static PET films. It's literally the only protector of it's kind I've been able to find locally and the dozens on Amazon. It's a cheap, replaceable and great looking screen protector made for the S8+ but fits the Note perfectly. Here are my results. I used a soft rubber squeege that comes with the IQ shield, don't use a credit card or something that will scratch it. For many of the bubbles I just used my thumb. Finger prints wipe off very easy with this film. Hope this help someone going through what I have been.
Oh first, it's this one. 9.99. I plan on going back and getting all of them. lol
This one:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-Plastic-Screen-Protector-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S8/925343896
Even better just found one made for the Note 8. Same brand
Congrats man!
No glass no deal
Yeah well this post isn't for you then. Glass on a curved screen is joke. The only viable option is a rip off and not even that great after some use. This is for people like me who don't drop their phones (never have dropped or shattered a screen since the Iphone 3G). I want basic scratch protection that doesn't look like saran wrap. This is the one.
The Note specific version is even better. Highly recommend.
try the Rinke invisible defender. its 8 bux off amazon. it wraps over the sides so you don't have any lift issues. heres a youtube link. its probably one of the best NON glass protectors you can get.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMbol8eljIg&t=97s
Thanks but I tried that. It felt bad to me as far as texture. This one feels just like the glass. Unless I got a bad rinke lol
I think I've tried every possible type on Amazon. This is the best for me. Smooth like glass, doesn't hold on to prints, doesn't collect dust and doesn't lift at all . It's basically what I've been searching for about a month now or more.
For 9.99 it's perfect. Use and replace every 6 months or so if needed, though it feels resilient. Install is easy. I can't imagine having to replace the Whitestone every time it looks like crap after a while. Not to mention for the money it's way too fragile. Again just my opinion, I'm only trying to help those like me looking for scratch protection that looks and feels good
Here's the actual note version on my phone
Im looking for something like this since all those glass protector are a joke. At least we xan avoid scratches. This is the worse walmrt brand for assesories together with blackweb im surprise that their screen protector is good.

Yeah it was a last ditch effort to try the s8+ version. Never would have thought I'd like it this much. Just put another one on to make sure it wasn't dumb luck. I put the other on my wife's. It's beautiful. Lol The key to no lift is near perfect alignment. You need to be patient with the bubbles on this one but they come out fairly easy and the protector is really durable to pulling up and putting back down a couple times for a flatter lay.
I actually found the S8 plus version was a bit easier to align due to the fact that it has cutouts up at the top versus one large section cut out like on the note version.

Yeah in store. The s8+ version shows up online but not this one. I'll grab my reciept in a sec
Here's the reciept with sku. I've been to two that both have them. Again for anyone who is going to install this make sure you're in a dust-free area if possible have some scotch tape nearby to pull up and dab any dust if need be and make sure your alignment is spot-on. I was able to lift it adjust plenty of times and you may think you screwed it up but just keep at it. Alignment is the priority, then worry about dust and bubbles. You want it to be equal on both sides. Hope this helps. Oh and use your thumb or a rubber squeegee to press bubbles out from the center towards to sides.
I've been using the S Pen no problem it hasn't scratched it yet as long as you don't dig down with it you should be fine and it doesn't have the resistance like the Skins did it's glass like imo
Holy edits lol
One other tip. Be careful pulling the cover off the protector that covers the adhesive side. It's a little tricky to do without touching the underside but it's not bad. Just worth mentioning to take your time peeling that off before you lay it down. Sorry about all the posts I'm sick in bed and bored.
