SD to MicroSD/TransFlash Card Converter Module - Streak 5 Accessories

So I've just bought this. Any idea what i am going to do with it?
I've disassembled my streak the other day and found out that there is some space left over to play with. I could smuggle some cocaine in it (just enough for myself btw) or... I could try and tuck in a normal SDHC card with 32gb capacity, wich, is cheaper then microsd. I'm just afraid that the ribbon cable is to short, but for a few bucks I am willing to give it a try.
Will let you know my findings when this item arrives, sometime.. next week.

Reeeealy interested in this. If it's a success, we could potentially add up to a terabyte in storage to the streak (once the TB SDXC cards are released. That'd blast any other smart phone out the water, storage capability wise!

you guys do know that microsd and sd have the exact same pinouts right?

Cool! 2gb MicroSD card WITH USB thumbdrive adapter only NOW $17 free ship buy.com

I found a kingston 2gig MicroSD card with a USB thumbdrive adapter. So Cool! I can stick the MicroSD card in the thumbdrive, plug it into my PC, copy all the files onto it, take the MicroSD out of the thumbdrive, and stick it, full of music and files, directly into my phone.
No more activesyncing to my phone's main memory then dragging to the MicroSD card!
Anyway, this seems like the perfect solution if you need a 2 gig MicroSD and a super easy way to fill it up. Kingston is a good brand and $19 shipped is a decent price for 2 gigs including the adapter. Go for it!
$19 at Meritline link
I realize that 2 gigs may be too small for many of you, but it sure is a memory upgrade if you are still using that tiny 512meg card that comes with it!
I got a pqi one with a reader like that and its awesome on the keychain
I have PNV 2gb one that came with a SD adapter for about that much.
I don't have a SD slot, thus the USB adapter.
Now even cheaper thanks to slickdeals.net:

16GB Micro SDHC work with my Kaiser?

just wondering if it will, as there are some for £55 and all my mp3s on here will be ace!
read that it only takes 8GB?
thanks
in theory it should work since it handles any microsdhc card up to 32gb.it hasn't been tested for any cards over 8gb since none are buyable yet.
And those new 16GB micro sd cards should have been for sale somewhere in June or July.
But of course its August now and still no sign of them...
usually waiting longer is better so the products are perfected more and tested thoroughly.i don't think any of us want a card that goes totally corrupted within the first 6 months of usage
Well the second somebody purchases a 16G7 micro sd card plz do tel how it feels and of course..DOES IT WORK.
We are able to, most likely able to use up to 32gb...so 16 should work like a charm...for me the 8 gig doesn't seem like enough and I don't wanna ever buy another card again for my kaiser and future devices...I got my 2gig micro sd card for $10 on craigslist brand new..and it came with a very sick tool...a micro sd usb adapter..one of the best accessories for the kaiser or any micro sd ppc device. I use it all the time and every comp has a usb slot so its compatable with everything, its great for swapping cabs and documents quick.
l...So anyway plz whoever gets over an 8 gig sdhc card like a 16g plz tell us if it works and how fast it transfers files and all that.
where do you get them ?

SD Card question about the phone, thinking of buying

Hi Guys
I'm thinking of getting this phone as my personal phone, I've spent a couple of hours asking LG some questions but the person I talked to didn't seem to know very much in detail about the phone. They did give me a manual however and on it it said that it takes a 64 GB SD card, the guy I talked to said it was micro SDHC, if I'm not mistaken micro SDHC stops at 32 GB and SDXC continues. I was told the maximum speed is class 4 but i wanted to ask you guys can this phone take a class 10 SDXC?. I'm also hoping there might be good development for the phone too, it should be able to handle most things you throw at it right? I'd love to have root for my Cerberus app and maybe unlock the bootloader.
While i talked to the guy i found out that they do something they call VOC (voice of customer) in the support chat, you have to ask for it but they take feedback from you about the phone. Maybe if there is enough of us giving them tips and telling them what we want they might make it happen.
Loving XDA since HTC Hermes :highfive:
SDXC is electrically compatible to SDHC, but they use another partion/storage-system (exFAT) that a SDHC device not knows,
a simple format to FAT32 does the trick
if you have windows you have to use a tool like Fat32format, since windows cannot format this size to fat32
One thing you might want to know is that you can't install apps or move app data to your external micro sd with this phone. So, a 64gb card (or any other card for that matter) will only let you store music, videos, pics, etc., but not apps, at least while there is no root access.
will the 4X be able to read exFat? i'd like to use a 64GB card without formatting it just yet and i don't like the 4GB limit on fat32 i might carry an iso on the sd card or a large movie.
So what's the fastest speed all you guys have with optimus 4x on their sd card? can it read at class 10?
EDIT: Stupid me, i just realised there was a Q & A section. Is there a way for me to move the thread myself? or ask a Mod to do it for me?

Compact OTG Storage option - & well priced

Was in the process of sourcing parts to follow up suggestions in other threads for making a small external micro SD card reader, and came across these. The memory is fixed at 8, 16, or 32 GB but the price is less than I've been paying for the micro SD cards!

From prior experience with the supplier, although currently available pre-order only the actual items will be on the shelf soon. Certainly be getting a couple, and find a different project to play with.

Thanks for that link, I got the 16G version because of the direct plug into the device.. I've been wanting to try out F2FS and you gotta nuke the whole SD to do it, and I didn't really want to transfer it all over USB again. I think this will be much easier to deal with, and faster to transfer files back and forth from the device and get it back up again after formatting.
I'm planning to purchase either
the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, or
the Kingston DT microDuo, or
the Transcend JetFlash 380S.
They are very similar to each other. I wonder whether they differ on speed etc.
Any reviews based on experience with these or other dual USB drives are very much welcome.

Dunno, but the Kingston linked in my post works great for both USB and MicroUSB on my G2 and N7.

Love it. I now keep all of my TWRP backups and Titanium backups on it. Frees up gobs of space and makes it so easy (and fast!) to transfer files to and from my PC.

I'm glad I got the 32g for just a few bucks more, my N7's whole SD card and a few TWRP's from each device and it's about full Although I could nuke the SD card backup now and free up a bunch of space.
It's a nice device, but almost too small. I'm afraid to carry it anywhere, so I put it in my zip-up earbud case since I carry them with me everywhere.
If you don't want cables or bits that plug in there's another Kingston option 'wireless card reader'

Got one ordered just to try it out, the price seems very good for what it is.

Can large micro SD cards be used

If I use a name brand high speed micro SD card, can I use a 64 or 128gig card?
Paul
To answer your question simply is yes.
However, If I can have a moment to persuade you into a 8GB card.
First, what project are you trying to do that you are needing a 64GB or 128GB? I would say that is overkill for the Raspberry pi. I know you may have some laying around the house not doing much, but in the end if you are just experimenting, I would suggest a smaller size.
If you intend to use KODI or LibrELEC for the Raspberry Pi and want to store movies on the same SD card. Those sizes may be apt.
I hope that helps!
