RE-EDIT: This Text is copy&paste for all threads on all compatible devices! Everything works fine for my Diamond. I still have no other device then a Diamond. I am still a one-man-show regarding my Android-Ports. So don't blame me for anything that doesn't work for you on any other device...

Excellent news, thanks!

Moaning about your lack of donations is bad form, just keep producing good work and they will come. Your bold oversized statement has made me less likely to donate to you and has probably offended many others who may have been considering giving you something for your efforts.

Seems like stating a fact made you kinda become a lil bit of angry.

So this is true, too. I stated a fact but didn't ask for a donation in my text! The donation link has been in my signature. Nevertheless my intention for a potential donation has been buying some used
devices like Touch Pro, Diamond2, Blackstone or Rhodium and test my builds on them before releasing.

To keep you happy I removed the text which stated a fact and you didn't seem to like. As a bonus I removed donation-link in my signature now, too.
So now back to topic:
If CM5.0.8 boots up on your device then let me know your results. If not then give me a logcat cause I have no Diamond2

Any chance of psfreedom from neopeek?
Love the rom

You are created a superb thing

Thank all of you for motivating me. Would anyone please try out my new SuperFroy RC2 Port which I released today on my site. I didn't want to create a new thread immediately before having anyone with a Topaz who confirms me that it works.
For me, thSuperFroyo RC2 is the fastest CyanogenMod6-Port I have ever made. So just let me know what works....

hi,my topa100 can not booting. when the "intall.exe" to be in motion ,the phone restart right now

is there any screen shot ?

Admins / Mods: Can we know the status of the ROMs from the chefs...

Hello Admins / Mods,
I opend this thread to see if we can get an update on the situation that has been going on for the past 24 hours with regard to the sharing issue. Many of the chefs have decided to discontinue their ROM development work due to this.
Myself along with a lot of other HD users (I hope) are very eager to know when things would get back to normal. I kept visiting this section frequently to see if there is any new information on this situation, but unfortunately there isn't any.
So, please let us know if ROM development for Blackstone is going to continue or did the cooks really leave XDA. If they did leave as they have mentioned, it a huge loss to this community and I think the Admins and the Mods must do what ever it takes to convinience them to share their work within XDA.
Due to the action of a few individuals... this great community should not suffer.
Please let us know the status.

i am a 100% with you!

Thanks to everyone who like my job!
Im a mod on a car site based in the UK. We had a situation where a member was ripping off other members via our 'for sale' section. We investigated and kept our member informed. It doesnt take much and im disappointed it hasn't happened here.
Frankly if this site doesn't respond very soon, in a satisfactory way (I.E not in an aggressive or arrogant way), then its not the sort of place i want to be. It will certainly reflect badly on the WM community, it may make me regret my decision to move over from Symbian. Indeed the quality of the community often guides my choices in automotive and AV.
Im not saying the cookers owe us anything (im happy with my ROM) and i support them if they have been wronged, but after investing money in my Blackstone id like to know my options.
I'm one of "Autocensored" cookers and only thing I can say is:
Yesterday someone paid a user to avoid sharing of new topaz rom... for this me, DavideUck, Infido and others had protested stopping our development until the sharing priority will be guarantee...
EDIT: I forgot to say that Mods are hepling us to much to understand what's happened and really soon the truth will overcome

Welcome to xda-developers.com
This site is about certain PDA-phones, made by a firm called HTC in Taiwan. Their makers named them 'Wallaby', 'Himalaya', 'Blue Angel', 'Wizard' and 'TyTN', but almost nobody knows them by those names. The mobile provider O2 sells them under the brand-name 'XDA', and that's what we had in our hands first. They're also known as Qtek, MDA, SX-56, Hermes and many, many other names.
Since we develop software for it, we need information, and nobody seemed eager or ready to give us what we needed. So we 'reverse-engineered' the devices, found a lot of information, and shared it with the world. But as our site grew we realised that lots of ordinary users were also suffering from a lack of support. They started using the xda-developers forum to communicate and before long the forum was as much a user forum as it was a developer forum.
We hope that you will enjoy this site and find it as useful as we do. We encourage you to donate or otherwise support this site. Of course absolutely all proceeds from donations will benefit this community.

Personally I am very greatly to all cooks and mods for there hard work and I always donate to the cook of which ROM I choose.
It will be a sad day to lose any cooks due to these unfortunate circumstances.
I look forward to everything going back to normal, and hopefully people will learn that this site is for the cummnity!!!

This clearly is a most unfortunate situation and I can understand how many of the cooks, mods and members alike are becoming upset. This said, can I appeal to those same people not to bring this bad feeling into the rom threads themselves. Despite the mods repeatedly saying they will sort out the situation as quickly as possible, certain people continue to bombard the threads with aggressive accusations which cannot serve any purpose. I myself was accused of taking back handers last night because I tried to get the thread back on topic! I mean really! I wouldn't mind but I've not seen a penny
The rom threads should be for help and bug reports and that alone! Threads such as this one are the perfect opportunity to raise other issues.
The saddest thing about this is some of the cooks who are upset are inadvertently doing what they are accusing others of in not sharing, by discontinuing their work here.
In the year I've been a member here, I've downloaded and enjoyed numerous roms from many of the cooks here and I've enjoyed being part of a great community. It breaks my heart to see that same community crumbling before my eyes
C'mon guys, can we not try to work through this like the adults we are and get back to being the best god damn HTC forum on the planet?

Ok, here is the story...
Dutty's V1.8 ROM was from the new HTC ROM from (Dimond2 or Touch Pro2). Other chefs were hoping that he would dump that ROM. But, Dutty said that he was not going to share this new HTC ROM (Topaz) since he promised his source that he would not.
After couple of days, a few chefs were suppose to come out with their next ROM versions with this Topaz ROM build. But then, suddenly, who ever was suppose to sare this ROM with these chefs, told them in PM that some one Paid him money not to share this new Topaz with the XDA chefs. So he decided not to.
Now the chefs who were waiting for this ROM dump, got really pissed and decided not to share their own work within XDA until the admins and the Mods of XDA make it clear that sharing made the core principle within the XDA community.
Facts:
- Dutty was the one only one who had this new HTC ROM and he decided not to share it with anyone else for his own reasons as he explained in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=484867
- Someone "claims" got paid by someone else not to sare the new ROM with the chefs within XDA as per this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3373252&postcount=1842
- Most of the Blackstone chefs decided to Discontinue their curren work and/or leave the XDA community until stuff is shared by everyone here for the benifit of the community.
Peace OUT!
After reading this, another possibility is that Dutty too was payed not to share...
And maybe he is not the one who paid?

The Wingster - ROMs, Programs, and More for your Touch Pro 2

The Wingster: Access to all of the best ROMs, Programs, and Hacks for your T-Mobile Wing
As many of you already know, I created a website called "The Wingster", which is dedicated to everything for the Touch Pro 2 and T-Mobile Wing!
ROMs - There are a lot of ROMs out there, and since the cooks are busy creating newer versions, they don't always have time to make a nice detailed description page about their ROM. So I do it for them! Don't spend all of your time digging through a lengthy thread, if there was anything important that happened, it will be on The Wingster!
Programs - All programs are tested for compatibility with the Touch Pro 2, any bugs or issues are reported, screenshots are created, features are listed, and more. I'm making all the apps on XDA accessable by the common user!
More - The Wingster is the place for everything Touch Pro 2. If anything important happens about the phone, I'll be sure to tell everyone.
Enjoy using The Wingster!
And donations are always welcome! I've gotta pay $15 a year for the awesome website domain, so you've all got about 10 months to come up with $15 so we can keep the site! Just kiddin, I can pay that myself, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to. So yea, send the very optional donations via Pay Pal, here: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=5401195 (Remember, your cooks need tips, so save some for them too)
I hope I've helped all of you! And if anyone cannot or doesn't feel like donating with money, a nice reply saying how I helped you is always welcome! Just knowing that I'm helping everyone here makes me even more motivated to make the site better!
Thanks everyone, and thanks to Ivan especially, his awesome ROMs inspired me to make The Wingster.
I'm willing to help anyone here, so we can use this thread for troubleshooting too. But I created this thread so that new users would be able to find a link to the location that holds most of the ROM's for the Touch Pro 2, since digging through threads can be exhausting. I'm not dissin XDA I'm just helping it out.

Lol, what?
As I said, I posted this here, in ROM Development, because it's very related to ROM's. Most ROM's are listed on The Wingster, so users can find and locate the ROM's there. Just like how other threads (for different phones) may have a thread that keeps track of all of the ROM's that are made for the phone, well, this is that thread, except it just links to The Wingster, because that serves the purpose!
It helps to eliminate people asking, where can I find this ROM, etc. Everything's organized by operating system...etc. XDA is great, but some of the ROM threads can be tough to find, because they're not all on the first page, etc. I'm just facilitating the proccess!
You get it? Or did you not even want a detailed response, and I went over the top?
Night,
Andrew
(I used "etc" a lot in that paragraph, lol)
I think wingster is a good idea, also for the chefs. Im offering you free webhosting for it. If your interested, just pm me mate.

OFFICIAL android port for cdma/diam500 users

im making this thread for all of us who own a diam500/cdma version of the touch diamond. lets see what we can do to get android to fully work or work at all on our phones. ive asked zenulator & msmission to assist us, they are from the vogue/android section of xda. im sure with their knowledge they can get us hooked up.
i find it ridiculous that gsm diamonds have a fully working port but cdma does not. hopefully this thread will spark some devs interest? id try but im no good at this stuff+i have no time to learn to develop.
so what doesn't work? Do you have builds already? Do you have a kernel git somewhere? Do you have a ril git somewhere?

im not sure, do you know of anybody that can help us out on your end?
so there is zero interest in this guys?
I'm very interested, but without any real developers on board with these specific devices, the going is slow and painful. I've been digging into source code this week, compiling kernel builds, trying to see how far I can get... but when it gets down to actually modifying the code, it's well beyond my level of expertise.
I've got a post over on ppcgeeks with a working build for my raph800, with possibly working wifi, but no cdma radio. I'm not sure if it'll work for diam500, but it should, since it's based on the combined build.
Since then, I've gotten some help from phh on irc, and gotten a build with cdma radio working, but still no cdma data (pretty sure it broke wifi, too). It's got a different ril rolled into the rootfs.img, and the last working smd.c and smd_rpcrouter.c from linuxtogo stuck into the latest build from the gitorious autobuild.
Anyway, you can give it a shot with this package from connect-UTB with the rootfs and zImage from ppcgeeks -- can't seem to upload them here. That's where we're at now. What's needed now is someone who can actually write the code for smd.c and smd_7500.c (the msm7500, i.e. cdma chipset) so that it properly creates a data channel. At that point we'll be pretty close to where the gsm project is. Are there any real developers in the house?

no progress than i can see. by the time they do it, ill have a real android phone.
Hey everyone, I've been working on DIAM500 and Android for the last week (after not having done much since October). There has been some real progress since then, especially in the phone functionality.
Things that work:
* placing/receiving calls (although only the speaker works, not the mic)
* send/receive SMS
* Wi-Fi
We're also real close to getting a cell data connection working.
Things that don't work:
* Bluetooth
* Camera
* GPS
* Power management (backlight control, sleep)
* Performance is sometimes sluggish
If I can get a cell data connection running (it is working sporadically on RAPH800), I'll post a kernel and instructions here so you can try it out.
I have a feeling if it gets to the point that wifi and data work, a lot of vogue guys will pick up diamonds on ebay, which would contribute to this fledgling thread. I am both a vogue and diamond owner, the screen and features of the diamond would blow the vogue out of the water if it were as functional with android.

Support Legend Developers?

Hi all,
This is my first post, although I have been following the group for a long time. My post is motivated by the observation that a massive imbalance exists, particularily in the Legend development community.
There is a huge mass of non-contributing users badgering a small group of hard-working developers, whilst free-loading off the many hours they spend trying to improve the Legend for all of us. (BTW - I'm not pointing any fingers that don't equally apply to myself!) The value of the hours they are putting in is huge, and the return amounts only to the occational humble click of a thanks button.
I have written to the XDA owners and proposed that they implement a system whereby users can donate to a specific thread, and that each month the proceeds of thoses donations are distributed to posters according to the distribution of new "thanks" clicks to them. Unfortunately I have not heard anything in reply, so in the meantime I propose that we start here in the Legend development forum in a less systematic way.
For example; all of us eagerly following ogo2's thread on his Alpha rom should support how we can. We have all heard BlaYO's hesitance to get too involved in that he needs another Legend to do development work on, as he can't render his own out of service for days on end. Absolutely fair point. I would suggest that all active developers in here create a donation account somewhere so that the rest of us ungrateful, free-loading scavengers (again, myself included, and meant in the most positive way! ) can contribute.
Let's get BlaYO a second development Legend, or ogo2 some resources on Linux compilation etc. It's the least we can do, even if we are just selfishly offering to help them, help us
It would not take much, and I am quite certain that anyone who can afford a Legend can also afford to donate $10-20 now and then. What a small price to pay for all the hours that our devs spend working to bring all of us the latest and greatest. Let's give something back!
There were a bunch of users that actually donated to my PayPal account (a few months ago I didn't believe this could happen by the way).
I'd personally object to such a system for various reasons, the main one being complication of something which is a pretty simple in fact: You like the work of someone, you donate (or buy).
Moreover, there are a few CM developers whose work on their device (which happens to use an msm7227 chipset) directly influences the Legend too and therefore my work as well. They are not active in the Legend forum though.
So what I basically want to say: There's a lot of work going on – not hours but weeks – which you might never see because these almost unmoderated boards here are full of you-name-it and every CM developer I know pretty much dislikes XDA for that very reason.
You don't see us (40+ developers) working, but that doesn't mean we aren't.
Edit:
Ah, and by the way, I've been busy too, so tiwlan on 2.6.35 is almost finished.

Is this meaning that the new CM7s will have the new kernel?
By the way, what was modified in the kernel source so the tiwlan didn't compile normaly?
I don't need a new Legend, I just need some peace...
There you go

Hmmm... OK, I get that my proposal could have some shortcomings, however the intent is good. It's great to hear that users donated to your Paypal, Ali Ba, perhaps other devs should just publish Paypal details too, and users can direct donations to where they feel they are most deserved?
It is not meant to be fair compensation for the numerous hours spent, as the basic principles of community development should still be the driving force. It could, however, be a token of appreciation from those unable to contribute in any other way.
I can't help but feel that there would be more devs involved with more and faster progress as a consequence, if only there was a little reward in there too. Surely that would be in everybodies interest.
In any event, I offer my thanks to all the devs here, and I would be happy to back that up with a contribution, should you decide to go that way

I was working on getting wl12xx driver working with 2.6.32 kernel but I didn't succeed yet. Is there a reason not to switch to wl12xx driver instead? It also provides soft AP support int the same driver.
Regarding donations, it would be nice if I could donate you via Google checkout.
Thanks.
Yea leave Blay0 alone man, He's getting enough hassle on the Alpha thread as it is! people say they'd like to help then just request more things like a2sd,overclocked kernel etc.If you know anything about linux try helping by trying to build drivers for the last 2 bits (i.e Bluetooth, wifi)
I must say also that there were individuals who offered me donations which I respectfully refused and instead apoint those guys to their nearest charity. I'm not doing this for money (I make money doing other things) I'm just doing it coz I like to know how things work and I always like to learn new things. So if I become bored those donations definitely won't convince me to keep on doing it.
Don't you guys ever think that I'm doing all this for you! Noooope! I'm doing it for me and my own satisfaction. Yes, that's right I'm actualy a selfish, egoistic basterd but in a process of achieving my own goals (which are also inspired by some of your suggestions) I'm really happy if someone else learn something from me. They are few but it doesn't matter... they will definitelly pass on their knowledge and that's important coz I believe knowledge is universal and must be available to anyone willing to accept it and you cannot charge for that.
Don't kidd yourselves, this Legend thingie will be among us at most for another year and then it will get its successors and its community will become even smaller and eventually it will be disbanded and some of us will find new projects, learnig new thing and again passing on all the gained knowledge.

A whole year is an optimistic approach
The main problem in the development of the HTC Legend is the device itself. It's a rare phone, and pretty much a very small group of people is using it. That also makes the group of talented developers thinner. Look at the Hero or SGS forums topic/post count. Sure - most of them are retarded, and previously answered questions, but still folks in the dev section are coding some crazy and amazing stuff. That's because those devices where popular and successful. The HTC Legend was ment to be the successor of the HTC Hero, but this ain't gonna happen. Nobody will remember this phone in a year or two. That's of course HTCs fault, not ours.
Also mentioning all the request, demands and stupid questions in the dev forum - this forum is not that bad
Go check the Nexus S section. For example the NexusSense topic (my girlfriend got a Nexus so I'm somewhat interested). Now that's pure fukcin massacre out there
Greets!

Agreed, I thought Legend was a kickass sucessor, but very few people actually bought it...I've deserted to Desire S, but I think that's a very similar case so far anyways...
But back on topic: The thing is, everyone has an interest in what he's doing and unless he has a gain from that work he wouldn't be doing it But the idea of donating is noble ofcourse
Let's support our developers by not asking stupid and obvious questions, using search button, hitting that freakin' "thanks" button as often as we can, and most importantly by using our own brains to gain even more from their work

Amen! (10char )
Agree with the great Dr!
PLUS This is a General thread so should be in the general section.....Threads should go into the right forums for a start! Hate to think how many threads there are in the wrong place :/

Elite ROM Summer 2011 Release (Links and Information UPDATED 8/10/2012)

Dear Members,
In a world rapidly dominated by the horrors of PPCGeeks, Windows Mobile 6.5, "Windows Mobile 7", and Apple Operating System, the need increasingly arises for the community to have a useful solution to all its ROM needs. I believe the answer to the world's problems (at least on HTC Diamond, anyway) can be found in this thread with a custom ROM I built from the ground up in a modified version of Caulkin's Kitchen called "Elite", which couples Windows Mobile 6.1 with excellent performance, eye candy, goodies, and vast amounts of free space - not to mention low battery consumption.
Unlike many other ROMs, I do not post the full description and screenshots in the first post of the thread because this "clogs" the forum up and makes quoting posts annoying. To remedy this, I've created a small informational sheet separately with all the details and screenshots you could ever want to see; the download link to the ROM itself is located inside of that.
Up until now, this ROM has been cooked with the Sprint carrier options cooked in, but in the new release that is NOW AVAILABLE, the ROM will be carrier universal! This means that it can be used on all the CDMA carriers' Diamonds (not as sure about the Verizon Diamond, I've heard it is a slightly different beast as far as hardware is concerned). If you need to do "over the air activation" with Sprint or Boost, you'll need to find the CAB to do so separately (you'll also want to hard reset your device, as installing it will make the phone unusably sluggish).
A special thanks to all the support from the community for helping make this Epic ROM what it is today. Your questions and comments are welcomed in the thread.
Thanks for visiting.

Are you still supporting this ROM?
Would you be willing to remove some items for me?

Hello Mr. Shoe, I am Member2013 officially taking over the Elite project on the Diamond. There are no further updates that will be made to it as it has reached its Zenith (or got as close as possible with the time that we could afford in development) and I now just work as carefully as possible to keep the download links up to date, but feel free to let me know now if you have any questions.
Thanks for downloading Elite. The Diamond is a timeless phone that continues to be a significant piece of HTC's history even into 2013.

How are you keeping the download links up to date when you are not the OP?
