[Q] Porting Htc Gratia's 2.2 with Sense ROM to Htc Legend - Legend Android Development

The new HTC gratia has exactly the same specs as HTC legend.
its preloaded with the new HTC sense and froyo 2.2!
any one knows whether we can port that rom over to legend so we can finally have our 2.2?

ya pretty same.............

No question in dev section. Should be moved to general. Mod, we need you in action. Btw porting even with the same hardware is not as straight forward as you think.

I was just about to try and do this on my legend... but can't find a dump ;\

Here's it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817895
Edit: Tried dsixda's kitchen, boots fine on the Legend but the WIFI and SDIO drivers needs work

I also managed to create a bootable ROM with the xda kitchen and using the porting tools. Running really fast for Sense ROM. WiFi not working and SD card cannot be mounted. Getting the same performance as CM nighlies according to Linpack and Quadrant.

Ok here it goes... Does FM radio works? Now shoot me

so getting progress.....

They are using a Broadcom chipset, if I'm not mistaken.
That one is incompatible to the TI radio used in the Legend.

Yes my ROM is booting fine with CM kernel. The major problem is that the SD card cannot be mounted. WiFi and FM radio are not so important at this point I think. I assume you're more experienced in cooking ROMs and could advise on this.
Cheers.

check this out..........

[ i know this nothing to do with this porting.....those people who love to compare mobiles]

Anyone achieved any progress on this? Maybe the more experienced developers could provide some hints

Once SD Card and Wifi is working, I'll do a full root on my Legend for this. I never use the FM Radio so that doesn't bother me

Would be great to see this rom with a lot more languages.. Or to be able to implement them from the 2.1 roms..

Flash 10 on Wildfire ? Does it work ?

I am planning to buy a Windfire but the thing that would make it stand up for me (instead of a BADA powered phone) is support for flash 10 from adobe. Here on forum there is a ported flash version for Android 2.1 here.
My worry is that the Wildfire does not have the steam to run in a reasonable way flash enabled sites. I've seen demos on Desire and flash was running ok. Did anyone tested it ?
Well, the stock flash does not play any videos. (There is a youtube app, but dailymotion and others I tested are not supported and won't play in the browser.)
I did try listening to an engadget (embedded flash) podcast, but it was waaaaay slower than preferrable and even lagged (i.e: every 1-2 secs, it seemingly stopped for 1/10th).
Again, this was with the stock flash. (I don't have the phone any more.)
It works on wildfire Rom ported for HTC Tattoo, with lesser hardware, so I'd imagine it'll be fine

We used flash 10.1 ported for Sense on Android 2.1 on a Wildfire ROM which had been ported to Tattoo, which has the same CPU and resolution.
i have flash 10.x on 2.1 rom. will release a beta in a few so ppl can test
If it works on eclair and sense, would it be possible to port to froyo?

[Q] flash 10.1

After searching all over the internet i could only find one flash 2.1 that actually worked on the hero.. http://www.androidpit.com/en/androi...tall-Flash-10-1-On-Android-2-1-Eclair-Devices
BUT.. it only works on stock for some reason.. could we get this in cynanogenmod?
Screenshots Below:
The hulu, kongregate, and sony pictures websites will not load those main screen advertisements unless you have flash 10.1 or higher. also included is the flash checker from adobe's website -http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/-
I think you mean flash 10.1, lol, anyway, there are some sense roms that have flash lite, but not 10.1 that I know of, can you CONFIRM this works on your phone? I don't really care about flash, just curious. My memory tells me flash and aosp don't work/haven't yet worked, and the only time there was flash lite in a heroc ROM was on sense based roms....
I think you're right. Any time I've ever seen Flash 10x was in a sense ROM and I kind of miss it being I run GB. Personally I'd like to know if this works as well and what ROM you're using this on.
I think he's looking for a way to get flash 10.1 on cm7, he’s not running it.

Works on your phone. Running a stock 2.1 rom. As you can see in the discussion in the link you posted, only people with HTC phones running stock/Sense roms can run it. Flash Lite only works with Sense. Enjoy.

Yeah me too! I want to port it to P500 I had bad luck with 4 HTC Devices:
G1: Squashfs modules
Hero: It was a port from a port and it was really hard
Wildfire S: Problems with RIL
Salsa: Probs with ril too
All these roms were Sense 2.1,but now we're on 3.5. So,let's hope
LG P500? It is very hard to port HTC ROM to other manufacturers' phones. I requested other developers to port Sense 3 ROMs to my P990 but no one wish to port it because they thought it was too difficult.

[KERNEL][ICS]InfinityICE[TOUCHSCREEN]

Okay, for those of you who have the amtel touchscreen you are in luck!
You will never believe it, but I have managed to get the touchscreen working in pointer mode!
Features:
[v10] Same as my InfinityPLAY kernel, but this is for ICS and has a semi working touchscreen!
To use this, apply this ROM (flash it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355189
Then download this kernel(flash it after you applied the rom): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13729847/ics.zip
Don't think data or anything works, but it didn't with the CM7 kernel either (on ICS).
Thanks appreciated!
Who said we couldn't have ICS? It looks smooth enough to me!

Thanks for the work kieran, I'll be happy to try test and stuff but I need a stable phone so sticking with CM7 for now...however does the kernel behave like the real deal in the emulator? If so, please let me know what settings to apply for the emulator to behave like a Wildfire and what components to download and I'll be happy to test the kernel with the ICS ROM kaassaus and you are working on!

It seems like we can install it and make it work on our device. I tried it and the only problem is that there's no network. It's probably because the ROM is for a CDMA device.
Do someone know if there is an easy way to make the network work?
