First off some details about my phone:
LG GT540 T-Mobile UK
1.6 donut
When I connect my phone to the computer, the phone and the computer do recognize it (but only as a storage device once I have mounted it). I have installed the drivers for the phone (I have tried on 3 different computers). KDZ firmware updater does not find my phone with this error:
[R&D Test Tools Log File]

17:33:49 : KDZ file extraced

17:33:54 : Port = -1
17:33:54 : Connecting to phone
17:33:54 : PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!
17:33:56 : ===FINISHED===
Lg mobile support tool does not even find it at all. I have googled and have found nothing that can help me.

Download and install from Microsoft two files "MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser" and "VisualC Redist", disbale Modem Driver. Dont boot with USB cable. Put the cable into the phone _after_ boot in downloadmode.
Close all Antivir programms!

ANd it has stopped working again, i followed all teh steps i did before and it refuses to find the phone.

keep trying different things like put it in download mode and try that.

How do i put the gt540 into download mode.

Vol up + Camera and power on

[HowTo] Newbie guide to recover a dead P500

Most of you are stuck on a yellow screen with”Emergency mode!!” or the phone is not responding at all. You guys wanted a custom rom like Optimus Prime-v2 and let me tell you, this time it will work. Optimus One P500 comes with stock android 2.2 – V10a, V10b … and android 2.2.1 – V10n. They might be done for different regions depending upon the phone release and its popularity and definitely bug fixes and enhancements. To have Prime-v2 on your handset you will require V10a or V10b on your handset. Reason, V10n stock cannot be rooted easily. Rooting the handset is must if Prime-v2 is required on the device. Steps to install V10a, V10b series. I am using Windows 7 32-bit, 3 GB RAM laptop:
1. Clean your system first; get rid of LG PC suite and other stuff shown in Uninstall Program with vendor name as LG. Remove MSXML builts from the handset. Remove Nokia and other drivers if they are on system like Ovi suite etc. I also removed a lot of Microsoft runtime environments. Not sure about the reason but it worked for me.
2. LG usb device drivers, download the application B2CAppSetup.exe http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe .
3. In the Menu Bar, click "Options & Help", and click "Country & Language". Select the appropriate Country & Language. I used India and select P500 from the list that popup after you change the country and region. It will download, install and save the drivers somewhere in C:\LGP500\USB_Driver, it will prompt to open the rar files, just click and install the exes seen in them.
4. Reboot the system.
5. Right click on Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager and see for three drivers – LG android usb modem, LGE serial usb port and LG composite USB device. Disable the modem driver and reboot once again.
6. Switch off the phone and press volume up + BACK button + POWER button. Phone should turn yellow with text “Emergency Mode!!” To switch it off you have to remove the battery (I know it hurts, but that’s the only way out here). Switch off and let’s continue with the setup.
7. To do the KDZ of system you will require the KDZ software updater, links keep going off and on internet. Try searching for “KDZ_FW_UPD_EN” or “KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.7z” in Google and download the software. It should be somewhere around 2.3 MB. To use it you will required some good version of WinZip or winrar again Google it and install the 7z archive utility.
8. Install msxml.msi as the manual or readme.txt says to do so.
9. To get the V10x Official ROM, you need to first determine the ROM of your choice. List of all firmware available for LG Optimus One P500 (list of codes) http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500 , search for your country (use IE it looks sexy in it), I looked out for IND/INDIA. Download link to the ROM is http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/XXXXX/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz where XXXX is code from list of codes. In my case it was: AINDBK. Save the file.
10. Prepare the handset by removing the SD card and boot it to emergency mode (some are already stuck on it so reading this post…: D) using the key combination stated above.
11. Connect to the PC and it should say, installing drivers’ blah… blah … your device is ready to use now.
12. Run the KDZ updater downloaded in step 7. Select 3GQCT in Type, DIAG in PhoneMode, and browse for ROM V10a in KDZ file and hit Launch Software update. Wait for somewhere around 5-10 minutes. It should say ===FINISHED=== in the log window of updater.
13. Handset will reboot, if not wait for another 5 minutes. Unplug from USB and try to switch it on.
If you guys wants help with details on setting up the custom ROM, I mean more detailed information like above let me know. I will try to help you out.
What's about some kind of merge...

Yes, I think we should + I am thinking of doing detailed notes on How to Root and do the custom rom with proper steps for newbies.
Tell me what you need from me... my post is also not having stuff in bold/italics and proper links.

Relax
Turn OFF the phone, just press "Vol-" and "Power Button" untill you feal the vibration.
You'll be in Android system recovery. Choose "wipe data/ factory reset" (volume keys to select), press "Power Button" to execute, in next step choose "yes-wipe data" (something like that) and press "power button" again.
Wait untill the phone shows you the option restart/reboot, select and execute.
you can flash kdz to save your phone without wiping,.good luck

If busybox is not wiped the problem remains... I'm even wondering if factory reset will solve the problem once that most part of the times root remains.
If it don't, only web upgrade or LG Tool Upgrade will reset to factory default.

Just open LG PC Suite, Device, Emergency Firmware Recover (or something like that, mine is in portuguese, sorry).
Just follow the program instructions.
If it don't work, you'll need to flash via kdz...
Good luck
I'm sure resetting to factory would be enough. Sounds like its just a soft brick. Factory reset will wipe everything you have on the phone but won't touch your sd card. It will turn your phone to completely stock or like out of the box condition software wise.
Vol - + Power and you should be good.
hi first off all id like to say thankyou for such a great site, 2nd is im having the same problem as the original poster here. i updated busybox and now when i start the phone it goes past the boot logo then sticks on opening programs. i have tried the wipe/factory reset and it doesnt work(i guess its due to busybox installs to a system folder, and ive tried to follow the video guide on updating with the kdz file, the problem im having is one that is shown in the video-where its saying the phone isnt connected and the driver for the lgusbmodem wont load, now im unable to understand what it is that you do to fix it(my bad sorry), could you englighten me as to what i need to do
thankyou for any help your able to give and its greatly appreciated
I said before that I had my doubts, even about factory reset...
Busybox is part of the "root", and as we know, factory reset not always "unroot" (very rare).
My advice is, Emergency Software Recovery, in LG PC Suite, or use the "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe" and performe a "Web Upgrade".
Good luck :good:
Hi thankyou for your speedy response, the one problem i keep running into now is if i connect i s/w upgrade mode it says "this device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
The system cannot find the file specified.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
i have the latest drivers installed so ive tried clicking update driver i then get the following " windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error attempting to install it. then says LGE Mobile composite USB device - the system cannot find the file specified
Once again thankyou for any help you can give,im really annoyed with myself for even messing about with the best phone ive had, when i try the update tool through the lg recovery it says updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal error while the LG Mobile Phone Software update
I think your running too fast to get nowhere... First relax, pay attention to the tutorials and advices inside of the thread. Now I can't but, if tomorrow you still have the problem, I'll give you a "hand".

can you connect the phone through Single ADB Interface(Vol+ & Power)?
maybe you can use adb to replace or reinstall the old busybox.
hi thankyou for your help , ive tried this method once and it was like it hadnt connected to the phone ,in the command window it seemed to still be waiting for a connection, ive just tried using the offline method with UpTestEX_mod2_marwin and the http server and windows enabler and managed to get it to connected but after extracting everthing it sticks on 4%,heres part of the log from it, im willing to give a good contribution to whoever manages to help me fix this,i wish i could afford to give many people a donation here as there is many great people

hi once again, the abd must be working as done a simple command of adb reboot-bootloader and it rebooted the phone, how would i go about trying the method of pushing busybox through, also is it possible to push other files through with abd for example CWM_deodex_rom_v10e_signed then using recovery menu (vol - and power) , sorry im dont have a lot of understanding of these things, guess thats a reason for me not to mess around in the first place
thankyou
fastboot is disabled on 4x, so the command 'reboot-bootloader' is no use, and we don't need it in fact.
hi yeah it was the only command i remember for adb so used it too see if it the connection worked which it did, thankyou

maybe you need the official tools now.
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=198411&uk=2215542299
1.install the flashtool (Setup_LGFlashTool_1.3.77.21.exe)
2.replace LGFlashTool.exe to hack it
3.click LGFlashTool
4. choose dll and kz
download kz (HK v10c) or extract your kdz
http://kuai.xunlei.com/d/QXBABOJUXDJW
5.then click the "COM"button and set your port
6.click the "arrow"button to start flash mode
7.plug your phone(S/W mode)

hi ,sorry il give them a try now, only just got back home.thankyou

not so simple update - help (kdz)

i wanted to update my lg optimus black to ics.
there is an official release but when i try it ota i get msg "connection failed caused by authentication error"
so i was going to update it using this method
http://www.android.gs/update-lg-optimus-black-p970-official-android-4-0-ics/
i installed lg suite on my pc
i downloaded the kdz file but it doesnt open just asks me to chose a program from list or one from the web. i chose lg suite & when i do lg suite itself opens but there is nothing to show the kdz (note i've been doing this without my phone connected via usb - do i need to have it connected before it will work?)
so i have no idea why its not working? or how i can get it to work?
the instructions say:
get the KDZ file.
Then, connect the handset with the computer by using its USB cord.
Now, from the computer run the KDZ executable file.
Up next, set “Type” and “Phone Mode” to select the .kdz file in your PC.
The update should now begin, so just wait and don’t make any other changes.
The process should take a couple of minutes.
In the end, remove the USB cord and reboot the phone.
can anyone help? ive no idea why what should be such a simple task is just not working :[
Use this program to download the correct kdz file for your device. Then use LGMDP to flash. KDZ updater should be a last resort, as it is less safe (you're more likely to brick your phone).
Search LGMDP here on XDA to see other threads, too.

SO... This happened... Secure Boot Error Code 1003 MODIFIED!!!

So, I wanted to go back to stock, after trying multiple steps listed here in XDA-dev, and multiple youtube videos and webpages. I will list the erros bellow :
LgUP - "unknown device"... I been having issues with this software since I first attempt to run it. I tried on 2 different computers and have the same issue. Installed the DLL first (like many suggested ) then LGUP and nothing
Flashtools14 - I get the .kdz and attempt to do either "normal" or "CSE" . after comes another window, stating the progress, do not disconnect the phone .. blah blah. After going thru that it stops at 9 % and nothing happens.
After couple of weeks, I thought that if Relocking the bootloader i would be able to go into the "factory Reset" with out booting from TWRP and going back to stock..*stupid move*, and so I did... And here we are with error 1003 MODIFIED
I been looking for answers in order to fix this issue, but they go to the same path... using LGUP or FLASHtools in which both dont work with me
I have this phone
LG G4 H811 Tmobile
Now im trying to see if i can conver a KDZ into a TOT since that process I also know.
If somebody have another method please let me know!
I cant go into recovery since I keep getting the error. pretty much I have a paper weight.

sorry i have no idea. maybe pos in thread go back to stock.
So if I understood you correctly you still have download mode?
Then it can be fixed.
If you want I can guide you through..
For this you need any Linux or best would be if just using FWUL ( http://tinyurl.com/FWULatXDA ).
I recommend to use the persistent mode version so your settings and installations survive a reboot / shutdown.
instructions:
Boot FWUL, choose language & login
Download the KDZ file you want to flash (we need to know the path later e.g. /home/android/Downloads/)
Open the folder LG
Connect device in download mode to the PC
Double click "LG laf NG" icon
Type in the new opened terminal:
sudo python2 auth.py
[*]sudo python2 partitions.py --list
If this lists your partitions then we can proceed with flashing.
Download my brand new kdz manager tool into FWUL: (right click and save as)
When you are not using the persistent mode of FWUL: plug in a big USB stick (e.g. 32 GB or more) into FWUL and extract the attached file there
When you are using the persistent mode of FWUL: just extract it in your download folder
You need to know the full path so best is copying the path from the file manager (e.g. /home/android/Downloads/ ) or leave the file manager open there
Open another terminal (black little icon in the panel)
cd and directly behind this paste the path you copied (e.g. cd /home/android/Downloads/ )
press ENTER
bash kdzmanager.sh -x FILLINFULLPATH-TO-DOWNLOADED-KDZ
(e.g. bash kdzmanager.sh -x /home/android/Downloads/h811blablubb.kdz)
once finished type:
bash kdzmanager.sh --test --flash extracteddz/
(just like this as "extracteddz" is the path generated by the kdzmanager)
This will just test flashing and not actually flash. Let me know the results of this (copy & paste output)
if you can't wait the next step would be actually flashing ofc:
WARNING: by default the kdzmanager will not overwrite userdata (which would be like a factory reset) and I would recommend to leave it out always and better choose the LG factory reset menu (after flashing completed) if required. If you still want to flash it use --with-userdata as a parameter (can take a loooong time then btw).
bash kdzmanager.sh --flash extracteddz/

Sure man i will do this and try to instal linux or go into your guide. One questions, which version of linux i need !?. I did a quick read on your post, is quite alot information to take, but i will try it!!!
Edit. I was able to download virtual box with extensions. Plug in my lg g4 and make sure that it read it. Double click on LG laf (auth) - * there is no LG laf NG* - termina opens, open new terminal type first command, ask for password - password is different than the ones mentioned in the OP - error : Python2: cant open file 'auth.py' : [Errno 2]\ No such file or directory

It seems you havent downloaded the latest FWUL version v2.0? In v1 there is no LG laf NG.. But we can use that FWUL version as well. it's just very very outdated
If you want to have the best FWUL experience use v2.0 and download the persistent mode version of FWUL (it's the ZIP) and read the FAQ to make the persistent mode available in VirtualBox!
This combo is fantastic
I come back in about 3 hours to complete the guide...

Saw something a few posts back about virtualbox or vmware...
FWIW, Historically, virtualized Linux Guests don't do so well with USB. I've always had to install it natively or use a LiveUSB distro with persistence.

Your tool is far better than this one because your tool has extracted many such partitions of LG G4 H811 20o KDZ which that tool didn't. E.g. PERSISTENT, DEVINFO, MODEMST1, MODEMST2, DRM etc.

Well. Yet another PhD thesis :good:. There is one thing that I couldn't understand though. At one place you mentioned that Hint: not wiping userdata can occur in a bootloop while at the other place you said WARNING: by default the kdzmanager will not overwrite userdata. Does it mean that flashing can cause bootloop if kdzmanager is used with default options?
Secondly, does it also support TOTs as LGUP does?

QPST with QFIL Flashing Sahara Error Solution

the solution of this error is simple.
just install proper qualcomm drivers from latest qpst setup . cause it includes the drivers too.
now just short the name of firmware folder to short form.
now open qpst or qfil, select firmware folder and select
rawprog_emmc_ufs_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf
then rawprogram unspare no nfc no fsg.xml '
then patch0. xml file
after that this is the main thing.
press vol + and vol- buttons together and put it into edl mode
and now connect it to the pc with cable . don't do anything till qpst or qfil not recognize it byself.
it took 30 sec to recogniz for my time.
it will take more for you may be. now download button will become available .
just click on it and now flashing will start without any error .
i was getting this error cause i was putting the device edl mode and connecting it to pc before opening of qfil or qpst.
you had to connect it after opening the qfil or qpst then you will not get any shara errror.
and have to wait at least 30 sec don't do anything till then . and after that windows will sound of connecting and that's it.
start flashing without shara error.
another solution:-
Copy firmware folder (imges) into
cdrive/programmer files/qualcomm/QPST/bin
2- Than open QFIl Select Programme Files .mbn
then both .xml Files From Cdrive where U copy
3- Now Close QFIL
4- Now Connect Handset Into Quacomm Mode (hs-usb , edl , download etc )
5- Open QFIL Again
Already Post Selected
6- Now Press Download
SUCCESS
latest qpst download from this site:-https://androidmtk.com/download-qpst-flash-tool
also try this in offline mode like remove all internet connection or wifi disable or enable airplane mode on your pc or lapto
Can post a link of QPST that you used

still getting shara error which version of winodws you using
if using windows 10 disable driver signature enforcement first then install qualcomm drivers perfectly included in qpst
after that open qfil or qpst now select all files and after that boot device in edl mode and connect it now to the pc rember dont connect with pc before qfill or qpst open now with usb cable wait for atleast 40 sec if it get recognize . download button will become available ,just click on it and start flashing
Thanks a lot it has successfully finished
When I do this I always receive:
2021-07-13 14:27:51.932 Download Fail:FireHose Fail:FHLoader Fail: process fail
Can someone give me any advice?
I also included my log.file
I waited for long, i had to selec the port as it says
im lost
