[APP] Audio Analyzer [released: 2010-11-15] [updated: 2011-05-29] [v1.7] - Windows Phone 7 Apps and Games

http://www.tomservo.eu/analyzer/
This tool is the first spectrum analyzer tool for Windows Phone 7 available. Capturing ambient noises and sounds using your phone's microphone, it processes it in various ways and visualizes its results.
Features:
- 512-point FFT with a frequency range of 8Khz (current XNA limit)
- Several windowing functions for the FFT
- Displaying of the prominent frequency in note pitch
- FFT zooms down to 2Khz
- Sound pressure level metering using Linear/Z-, A- and C-curves
- SPL floor can be raised up to 100dB
- Peak and RMS metering of raw captured microphone input.
- Peak/RMS floors can be raised up to -24dB
- Waveform display of normalized input.
Note:
- Due to different manufacturers and internal microphone preprocessing, your results may vary. The SPL metering allows you to calibrate the results +/-30dB.
Cost: 1bux!

nice app
Very nice! Please give landscape support in furture release...thanks

looks pretty nice, i'll find a use for this .

Anyone who's going to buy this:
Smartphones have crappy miniature microphones. They have a considerable noise floor, so if you're in a "silent" room, the meters WILL display something. They will anyway, since a room is never entirely silent, alone due to the brownian movements of the air that'd even make a high-end mike pick up noise.
SPL measurements are based on a logarithmic function. The sound pressure difference between a faint sound and a little lesser faint sound is way larger than between a jackhammer and a jet engine. That's the nature of logarithms. Here, take a look at the log10 of the values from 0 to 10000:

}
Note how the difference from 0 to 1000 is way larger than from 5000 to 10000.
In essence, the application's not broken. The theory behind it is sound, it just has to make do with what it can work, namely a noisy microphone.

Is there a free version of this app?
Thanks

thx tom but why it s free on your site and 0.99 on zune market ?

Ah, the site is outdated. I kinda had to change my mind, when that supposed "five free apps" suddenly changed to "five free submissions for free apps". Means, after the fifth submission of a free application or an update of one, I'll have to pay 20 bucks for each free submission. So I have to charge something, especially since I refuse to put ads in my applications (e.g. to pay for update submissions). I figure I could put a trial mode in, but I'm not entirely sure how I could cap the application, nor whether a unlimited-time fully functionality trial applications will pass certification (since it defies trial mode and affects their income).

how to - speed up your camera. (in some enviroments)

Well, i found that having -2.0 thru -1.0 EV actually speeds up the camera quite a bit. now it depends what type of lighting your in, but atleast now some interior enviroments are faster!
o and also put the white balance on the moon or the light, the picture usually looks best then.
you might notice in the picture i have it set at the smallest resolution, that has nothing to do with this, it was just an accident it was set to that.

sorry, what do you mean -2.0 thru -1.0 EV? I would like to try it
I'm guess the megapixels.
EV stands for "exposure value", also known as "stops". The Kaiser, as well as most point and shoot digi-cams, goes from -3.0 to +3.0 in half step stops.
ooo snap.. nice.. It kind of works but ya depends on lighting ..:-(
Thanks !
Sorry, just went through the entire menu system on the camera and couldn't find anything resembling "stops" or "ev". Anybody know where to find it?
I have a Tilt.
When you open the camera app, at the bottom of the screen (on the left if you hold the phone upright) there will be a little "handle" that you can click on. It's dark grey in color. Click on that and you can adjust the EV value there.
Works great for me. thanks man

When you decrease Ev, shutter speed (Tv) automatically increases. At the cost of getting more speed, your picture will be darker. No problem, just use your favorite editor (photoshop) to increase the exposure again (using +Ev, Levels, or Curves). However, doing this will make your image noisier (more grains) and losing quality.
Vice versa, increasing Ev will decrease shutter speed. It's cool that cell phone cameras are beginning to offer adjustment settings. Most advanced camera will let you control EV, Av, and Tv and lots of other things independently, but only advanced users will touch those settings.
updated the first post, showing what EV is, for those who weren't sure.
Also If you go to Camera settings which is South east (corner right bottom) and then select the second page, select the Adjustments and in there you have another option which is to Sharpen more the image.
This also helps a lot.
I'm still trying to understand the Resolution mixing it with the lightning balances to have a nice fast snap shots indoors and outdoors.
Any help will be appreciated.
I can confirm that this does help a lot on my phone. I tested it at the UNLV vs. Arizona game last night. The pictures came out suprisingly well. Granted, it is a well lit indoor area. But I didn't see as much screen lag as usual.

Initial release
The purpose of the game is to complete as many lines as possible. You can move, rotate (clockwise or anticlockwise) and force-drop the piece that comes from the top of the screen until it touches any other piece or the bottom of the board. You can also hold the piece replacing it with the next piece (if not piece was held previously) or with the piece previously held. More points are awarded when force droping a piece from higher. You complete a level when you complete 20 lines. Each level makes the pieces fall faster but also gives more points for each line completion.
The game is over when a newly created piece does not have enough space to move.
Tetrada is a greek word that means "four of a kind" or "group of four".
Tetrominoes are the four element special case of polyominoes. Polyominoes have been
used in popular puzzles since at least 1907, and the name is given by the mathematician Solomon W. Golomb in 1953. However, even the enumeration of pentominoes is dated to antiquity.
The gameplay is similar to a well known tetrominoes game, Tetris (TM).

I like Tetrada much more than the EA Tetris, so I've just bought it . The controls are great.
Only suggestion I have so far: I would like to disable the vibration feedback in the options menu.

First of all, thank you for your support and kind words.
Vibration control heh? For battery life saving, it makes sense
Ok, I've added it to my 1.4 to-do list. If you think of anything else, let me know
I had to do a hard reset, but now I can't find Tetrada in the market place anymore. On your website I've read you had to remove it from the market place.
That's pretty annoying considering I've bought it.
@chr5s11
I am terribly sorry about this but it is really not my fault

I don't have the authority to put the game back up I am afraid

[APP] Sequencer -[R]- 13/May/2012 -[U]- 07/Sept/2012 -[V]- 1.2.1

Hey there! Just wanted to mention a new app I made, Sequencer. The application is a drum machine/step sequencer and loops timed sound samples. There are already a few apps out there that are similar, but this project interested me so I went ahead and built it. I got some base features in there, so think it is time to show some people and get some ideas.
Please give it a try and tell me what you think. Also note, I’m not a musician don’t know all the components of making a song. So if you have any ideas for changes to the app or any features you want added, please tell me!

Version 1.2.1 Update and screenshots
The next version of sequencer is now available. This update adds a lot of new options, the biggest being “synthesizer mode”. Now, in addition to the sample sound packs, you can select a three oscillator synthesizer as a sound source.
When a channel is in synth mode you can generate a sound using:
- 3 Oscillators with 12 different waveforms (Includes the usual, Sine, Saw, Square, and Triangle waves)
- Frequency and detune settings
- Unison mode that will generate 3 detuned oscillators instead of one
- A Single LFO that can modulate pitch or volume
- An ADSR amplitude envelope, and a gate time setting to control how long the sound plays
- Lowpass filter
- Distortion effect
Each channel has its own synthesizer settings, so you can make a composition using entirely synthesized sounds. Generating the sounds does require a good amount of processing from your phone, but even older phones should run this pretty well. Also, if configuring a synthesizer isn’t your thing, you can select one of the 35 presets included in this release. More presets will be added in following versions.
A few other things added:
- Channel level volume settings with mute and solo
- Slider increment feature that lets you tap on the right or left side of a slider to change a value.
- Fixed loading issue that occurred when there were a lot of saved sequences
Here are some screenshots of the updated features:

Need Dev Assistance to rotate video from camera 90 degrees.

Hey Folks - I could use some help here I am stumped.
I am working on a project to launch one of my model rockets and stream the launch video live via USTREAM (using an LG Revolution modified to be onboard). The issue is USTREAM sets the camera to landscape mode so the phone needs to be held in the landscape position for the video feed to be oriented properly for viewing. The problem is I need the phone to be oriented in the PORTRAIT position due to size limitations of the rocket itself.
USTREAM does not offer the ability to rotate the video stream.... so I was wondering if anyone (dev?) can write a middleware app that will force the camera output to be rotated 90 degrees before the application layer receives the stream? Is that even possible?

FYI: I have tried rotating the camera physically but the connector ribbon is too short and doesn't afford the flexibility for such a move. Creating an "extension" cable is also not in cards since the plugs are nano-sized surface mount.
Thanks in advance...
I have no idea how to do that but please let us know about the launch. Awesome project!
This really does not belong in Development so I have gone ahead and moved it. The project does sounds interesting and I wish you good luck.
Android1 Project Thread ...
Launched the rocket and As-droid-naut this past weekend (minus the LG) - here is the thread I started in the General area if you want to see what I'm up to:

Dashcam
Did you find a solution?
I have tested a lot of dashcam-apps (f.i. 640x480) and the phone in mounted in portrait, the video is only in portrait (480x640). On the pc i have to transform it 90 degrees.
Camera gets its positioning from the accelerometer. Need to somehow fool the camera into thinking it is vertical all the time.
Thanks for the quick response.
That is not the problem. (It is easy, to rotate the video later (and maybe crop) on the pc.
My phone camera has 8 MP CMOS (Landscape 3264x2448 or Portrait 2448x3264)
I need only the upper 720x480 (or better of the 2448x3264) and not 480x720.
The lower part of the video is waste. (only the dashboard, what is not very interesting)
(If I rotate my phone 90°, i see only the dashboard and a little bit of heaven, but no street.)
A higher mounting of the phone holder is not possible.
The best solution is a dashcam-app with a possibility of selecting a video area. Why is it so difficult to program?

Concept: Android system with multiple inputs and outputs

I'm well behind the curve on Android in the car and I'm not sure this is even the right place for it but I have a concept for a system and I'm not sure whether the current state of the art permits it. But here goes anyway.
The car is exotic and rare: a Renault Avantime. Here's the cockpit:
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You'll note that it's a work of art (may not be to your taste but it's one of those rare beasts; a concept show car that actually went into production). So I don't want to mess with it too much. You'll also note that there's a bump with a Satnav screen (factory system: old VDO/Dayton thing) on top of the dash. There's also a large flap cover forward of the gearshift; that covers a double-DIN hole which was used for the factory CD and satnav controls panel. The factory radio is a headless unit under the seat which runs a dashboard display and steering wheel controls - with a remote for more complex functions.
What I want to install is an Android system with multiple inputs and outputs. The primary display would take the place of the flap forward of the gearshift. The brains of the thing may or may not be integrated into that display.
Inputs would consist of:
- a cabin webcam used for Skype etc.
- a backup camera (no factory fit)
- a forward-looking thermal camera for night vision
The primary touchscreen display would be in front of the gearshift as described. The existing Satnav display would be adapted for a secondary screen (probably not a touchscreen; just a display): normally it would show Google Maps - or some other app for nav data. But it would be selectable via software to display the backup camera view, the thermal camera view, or the Skype display when in a Skype video call.
Obviously the unit would need to be capable of controlling and driving an external AM/FM receiver/amp for that side of the entertainment functionality.
Is any Android system capable of handling these multiple inputs and outputs? The ability to display specific apps on the secondary display is kinda crucial to what I want to do here; are there any general solutions to getting multiple video streams into and out of an Android device? Or would I be better considering a bespoke car PC based on Linux or something? Any suggestions gratefully received.
