I must stress that your phone must be HARDSPL'ed in order to flash my ROMs. Also, read this post for updated flashing instructions.
THIS ROM IS ENGLISH WWE ONLY and don't forget to backup your various info (contacts, documents, etc). Users of Palm Messaging can backup their SMS messages by looking for "PalmMsgV001" in the windows folder. Unfortunately, reading this file can only be done with Palm Messaging, so copy/paste anything of importance before flashing.
Special note: Bluetooth file sharing now works GUARANTEED in all 2.5 and up ROMs, and remember that the "receive all beams" option in the Infrared settings is on by default, if you don't use Bluetooth don't forget to turn this off.

Version 2.1 additions
--This time Version 2.1 was cooked using Fjtorsol's kitchen. There are a few pros and cons, pros like working shortcuts, cons such as the inability to use network time (my V2 build could, but not 2.1). Note that Version 2.1 also has Fjtorsol's features.
--Some of Fjtor's features were upgraded, such as App service to 1.87.0.0, Arcsoft to 5.2.2.66, Sim Toolkit Svc to 4.93.0.2, Sim Toolkit UIPPC to 4.73.0.0, and USSD Service to 4.36.0.1.
--Like I promised, build 21889 has been tested for over a month and it's ready for use. This build was released in December 2010 from HTC, as you can see it's very fast and it totally smokes my Touch Pro. The \Windows\ folder loads in about 1 second, compared to Energy's ROM on my Touch Pro at 3-4 seconds.
--I decided to do 2 versions, a BASE ROM and a Consumer ROM, simply put, the BASE ROM is for users who want to install stuff themselves (like Windows Live), and the Consumer ROM is great if you want a lot of Microsoft services ready to use, such as Windows Live or Microsoft MyPhone. BASE ROM has a lot of storage available, Consumer ROM has 20% of that used up.
--Bluetooth file sharing is ready and it works, and you don't need to enable "accept all beams" in that Infrared setting. I have tested receiving a file from a Samsung SGH-D807 Simple Phone, all you need to do is "enable File sharing" in the FTP tab of the Bluetooth settings.
--Storage Card is the default name now, I was too lazy to change to MiniSD
--Version 2.1 retains Clear Storage and Microphone AGC, available in both BASE and Consumer ROMs.
--Both ROMs have Zip Mobile 2010 version 1.2.3.1.
--Pagepools are set at 6. Remember to change it depending on the kind of work you use your Treo for.
--Unfortunately, due to me using Fjtorsol's kitchen, the ROMs are compressed in LZX, I have no idea why my kitchen can use XPR at the same size Fjtor's does with LZX. So I stuck with LZX, which doesn't matter to Build 21889, because it's still fast
Fixes from Version 2 to 2.1
-Thanks to Fjtorsol's kitchen, shortcuts are no longer mysteriously deleted or cloned.

Known bugs:
--Due to my dependence on VolServ, the Ringtone settings for "Phone: Known Caller" retains that bug all custom ROMs have, which doesn't matter what kitchen you use. A fix was to remove the registry settings linked to VolServ, but then half the system will not work. To remedy, simply select the ActiveSync settings, then back to Known Caller and you'll see the real settings.
--The Caps/Shift keys icon that shows up beside the little keyboard SIP icon is gone. I discovered it is Theme related. I fixed it at one point during the Real Power Button testing, and it did show up. I can't seem to redo that without killing some things.
--In Fjtorsol's ROMs, I was unable to get time settings from my wireless carrier. I have confirmed this to be a problem with the type of ROM used as a base, as my V2 ROMs were based on Palm's 2.30 ROM, which supported my wireless carrier's network time. Unfortunately, because I used Fjtor's kitchen, this "bug" carried over to my V2.1 ROMs. This is a problem if you use programs that utilize Windows Mobile's Cell ID location-based service.
--Theme was removed from Hermann Finger. [Hermann Finger] The HTC Black theme (originally for WM6.5.0)seems to work at first, but changing to a different theme and back leaves the bottom bar and other 6.5.3 icons missing. I consider the HTC Black theme as a one time gig, apparently, since I cannot edit the theme as WinCE cab manager needs to be registered before I can fix it.
--Random? [Hermann Finger] With the enhanced top Taskbar, sometimes (it happened to me while locked to 3G) when you turn on the Radio, the signal appears empty (as blank, 0). There still is a signal the same as your last level, and your network type (3G, Edge, GSM) will still be shown, and you can still make calls. Hermann Classic did not have this problem, which it actually had a much cooler feature, remember when you turn on the radio, and try to access the "Phone" settings, and the Treo will tell you "the Phone is busy, wait 15 seconds", well in Hermann classic, I observed it to not show the signal strength until the Phone is ready. Might not happen often, but it was really cool.
--No more Splash screen. The Hard Reset function (Hold Red Button + Reset button) may look blank, or glitched, but it still works. Apparently Palm never thought Big Storage was possible
--The HSDPA icon that displays when you are actively downloading on HSDPA is gone. Or rather, Palm's Dial Lookup was the original source. don't worry, when that 3G icon turns into a funny looking icon, you are still on HSDPA.
--Fixed. BASE has no rings, Consumer does. Only 3 ringtones? Apparently, keeping Dial Lookup, Active Call, and my mod to remove Palm Messaging keeps it this way, no matter how I tried to cook the rings into there. Don't worry, you can still add your own ringtones, preferably into the \My Documents\My Ringtones folder.
--Fixed via Fjtorsol's kitchen. [Hermann Finger] There is again 2 MS Office folders. Both work the way they should, but forgot to delete it as I had already uploaded the ROM...
--Fixed. Kept VolServ in the ROMs because it controls a lot more than just sounds. [Herman Finger] The following sounds seem to not work: MiniSD card insert and remove, and Charger connected and removed. It actually is controlled by Palm's Volume control service (the little pop-up volume window that open on the top left), which I had removed in Hermann Finger.
--Fixed from Fjtorsol's kitchen. [Hermann Classic] 2 battery bars. Tried automating showing the clock up top, but for some reason it doesn't like me
--[Hermann Finger]The ALT key symbols window still has the redraw bug, just use D-pad to select. I fixed that as well while working on Real Power button, and I admit, I forgot the change I did :/

FAQs, How to's, and more
Q: So explain to me the Sleep of Death
A: Existent in some WM 6.5 builds, even for other devices, Sleep of Death occurs when you power off the phone either via software or the Red Button, and the phone cannot power on in any way whatsoever, power button, plugging it in, etc. Currently, I have not experienced this in Build 23563, but in Builds 21901/21915. This is probably solved by my battery polling customization, although if it persists, disable auto turn-off for either battery or AC, or you'll have to change your brightness setting due to Palm's Backlight bug. Do note that my Treo's have worked past their service life, and their batteries are less the capacity than they used to be.
Q: What is the Backlight bug?
A: Existent even in Palm's OEM ROMs, the backlight bug is when you have your brightness set to 2, sometimes even 3 (The backlight is rated by 0 - 10, 0 being off, and 10 being the brightest). The Backlight bug occasionally refuses to put the device on standby (more often when plugged into AC), or even turn off the backlight. This is a hardware problem because if you set your Brightness to 2, and put the device on standby when running on battery, you can turn on the device again if you toggle the ringer switch (the switch on the top of the phone). This is a persistent hardware bug, which existed on all the 4 Treo's I have touched so far. (it's how I turn on my keyboard-less Treo)
Q: Can you do ____ language?
A: All my ROM's support multiple languages (although I have never tried making ones other than English). All I would need is the Palm OEM ROM of the language that you want done, then we'll see.
Q: What Kitchen did you use?
A: I use OSKitchen Zero.
Q: Will you upload your kitchen?
A: As you may have heard, there's a ridiculous bandwidth limit on the wireless carrier I currently use (800MB). My kitchen folder reaches 2.02GB (size, not size on disk), and uploading that is now impossible. Even if I separate the parts into individual folder, it's still going to add up to much more than 800MB. So sorry, the idea of uploading my kitchen was only in the event I could not continue. Well, I've gone as far as completed
Q: What happened to Build 21915?
A: It had a fatal bug that would not load some programs, notably .Net CF programs.
Q: Build 21901 help! How do I get rid of that second battery bar?
A: Go to Clocks & Alarms in Start ->Settings->, and then tap that "more" tab, and then check "Display the Clock on the title bar in all programs"
Q: Why can't we tap the Start icon in WM6.5.3?
A: Basically, it's the fault of Palm's OEM today plugin "Active call". This plugin is responsible for the handling of calling-related features of the Treo, from the dialer skin, to the today-screen Softkey options, to the speakerphone activation, to anything that displays call information. Why it interferes with 6.5.3 is best explained in detail. As you may not have known, Windows Mobile is an interesting platform in one respect because of how highly customizable it is. The Palm designed OS is layered like this:

--- <-Underlying OS
As you can see, Palm's Active Call plugin is covering the Today theme in who handles what the user touches. So when we click on the Start icon, it looks like we pressed it, but we didn't because Palm's plugin is designed for WM5/6, which has a normal softkey bar at the bottom. Their Left Softkey is overlapping the Start icon, so to the OS, we are pressing that spot on the UI, but Palm's plugin is intercepting what it launches by launching nothing, since it was programmed to not launch anything at those coordinates linked to the OS. This can be easily seen by tapping on the xTask icon, and then tap on the Start icon.
Q: So why did you make the Start menu faster and 4 columns?
A: Well, I was a big fan of that start menu layout changer I got here at XDA-devs, but it didn't work on our Treo's. I don't know why it doesn't work, as it works on my hx2415, but I set out to manually edit the Start menu myself. While I will maintain the secret of what I believe made it faster, I decided a 4 column layout was best because, with a 3 column layout, it takes longer to scroll because our screens are about 2.5 inches, which is really not a lot of real estate for the primary scrolling finger (our thumbs). So if you are wondering why it lags a bit, that's because you are seeing 8 full icons and 2 half icons, compared to only 6 in the 3 column layout, and the device scales the icons depending on their default size (program dependent).
Q: Can you take out ____ program?
A: Due to my lame internet connection, I can't be doing things that could break 1 person's functionality, while helping 1 person's desire. I try to do a ROM that works for the general user, and not for a power user like me (It's why I didn't see the SMS tone bug until later, because I didn't care for that :S)
Q: Huh? XPR compression?
A: ROM's are loaded onto a device in 3 types, a non-compressed ROM image, a compressed ROM image, and a Super compressed ROM image. non-compressed uses up a large amount of space, a compressed image (XPR) uses about half the space available to the Treo, and a Super compressed (LZX) image uses even less space. These of course, have their drawbacks. Uncompressed ROM images uses up a whole lot of space, but is quick to access the Windows Mobile parts. XPR is compressed to fit in a reasonable amount of space, and is a bit slower to access than uncompressed. LZX is tightly compressed, and while you use up even less space, the ROM is very tightly packed in that the CPU needs a little more extra time to read WM elements of the OS. An example is like this, between XPR and LZX, say you have a box, and you put things in it. If you stuff it with as much as you can to save space (LZX), you may have saved space, but trying to get things inside that box will take a little more extra digging. With a more tidy stuffing of the box (XPR), if you properly set things inside the box, accessing the things inside will be much quicker.
Q: Explain to me "Big Storage".
A: I made a graphic explaining this, but basically, Big Storage is the removal of the ExtendedROM partition that exists in the HTC devices during the Hermes era. The ExtROM is what holds Carrier-specific settings/bloatware that you see in the Palm OEM ROMs. This is a problem with Custom ROMs, because we use the "unbranding" procedure to delete the stuff in the ExtROM, but the partition itself is not deleted. This is where Big Storage comes in. Big Storage has no record of the ExtROM whatsoever, so it re-formats the rest of the available storage as one whole Storage space for the user to use. I have seen this have a great boost in speed with the Operating System, as the device no longer has to mount (and hide) another partition on the Flash chip. So far no other ROM besides my Hermann series has been able to do this.

So, a little update, ironically enough because internet on my phone is down so I decided to use expensive tethering to let everyone know I'm still alive XD
I'm glad I decided to take a working keyboard from my good Treo and put it in the bad Treo, my repaired Radio antenna had to be re-repaired so now I can leave the keyboard on there (still did not get replacement keyboard). That gave me a chance to test the buttons on my WM6.5 build, and the "Alt" key works, and brings up the symbols list. Red phone button still does not work (don't worry, I do know why), also I realized the Phone Settings is still there, just need to re-work the shortcut to point to it. Still trying to solve the SD card problem, so now I need to raid Nav's post history lol.
Edit: Nav's post history needs to be searched by not just his posts, I even need to read if others replied to him. If anyone can help me out and remember or able to see what it is that causes the Sd card problem, I'd really appreciate it (my connection is timed -_-)
Hey guys, I got a great story to tell.
You guys might not know me very well, I mean, I rarely posted here before, but if I had to say something about me, it's that I'm not the type of person to ask help on how to do something, if I can do it myself. Well, last night, I tried and tried, and even dunked myself into bed and immediately fell asleep (narrowly escaping catching a cold because of no blanket lol), but I persevered, and now look what I have done!
That's right, build 23563! Better than Mietas' ROM because tapping the start menu works, but just like Mietas' ROM, closing Messenger with the lower right corner close button still freezes the program. And... since I have been using Nav's badly configured files (no offense Nav), the SD card bug remained. There was even the camera bug, and the WM player that never was. I didn't give up though, thanks to Mietas' discontinued ROM project, I have craftily taken his romhdr.bin and stuck it into my kitchen. I also realized why the Camera didn't work and why WM Player was gone. Now, I present to you, the first real working WM 6.5 Rom for our Treo 750's!
"Gee whiz mangatron, you went back in time? How is that the best working WM 6.5?" you say? Well, look here!
See that? It's the Palm OEM applications running! I can make calls, send TXT messages and recieve them, you can hang up calls and, you can POWER OFF the phone! Brightness setting via Fn+p works too! Yahoo! That's not it though! The SD Card can now be recognized, the Camera works, and WM Player is back again! Absolutely the best WM6.5 for our Treo's yet!
But there's still more. See, as much as a noob that I am, I hadn't realized until build 23563 on why the Palm OEM stuff wasn't running. You see, I already knew why Nav's ROM couldn't hang up or power off. Thanks to my older brother for testing this when he had my Treo, the today plugins "Active Call" and "Dial Lookup" are Palm programs, that, one or the other (or both combined) control brightness setting, hanging up, keypad dialer, speakerphone enabler, etc. PRetty much all phone functions were handled by these 2 today plugins. When Nav took them out, it killed his phone functionality. I knew that without these, nothing will work the way I want it to. I didn't do this alone. If it weren't for Nav and Mietas for trying before me, I could have never learned how to cook, and most importantly, I would have never had tried 6 months ago had I gotten a new phone then.
Now, I hope everyone understands why I didn't upload it yet (expensive tethering is the only way to safely upload without risk getting cut off). There are also other reasons why, namely, how I found out why build 23563 didn't have my Palm OEM's. You see, during the cooking process, I noticed I had a lot of bad lines in the RGU file for the Palm OEM APPS package. So everytime I flashed my rom, I didn't see the Palm today plugins because by default, the registry turned them off! So I installed SKtools, enabled them, and boom, working Treo. So, if everyone is fine with manually turning on these 2 plugins by themselves, then okay, version 1 here we go! Except, I need to tell more about this ROM. You see, because I took some .bin files from Mietas' ROM, my build is now slow like his. Well, it's not laggy I-want-to-freeze slow, it's just, think back to WM5. If you had the Treo with WM5 before, you'll know what I mean. When you tap stuff it would like peel or what I like to call "blink". The problem could be because I set the page pool to 4MB (known to save RAM, but slow down multiple program usage), so I will try with a page pool of 6MB. That's basically the only caveat, actually. The rom is a tiny bit slow, but if you can live with that, and want a real working WM6.5 now, then I'll see. I have planned to tether this coming Monday or Tuesday GMT +8 (that is, Hong Kong time), so who knows, I may even pull a Spiattie here and provide both a Classic (21915) and Touch (23563) versions!
Note to Roberto: Luckily, Keyguard can be disabled. But I have not installed S2U to see if that will lock on power down (even with Keyguard disabled, the Red button can still power off). Let me know if S2U can lock when the device goes to standby, right now I am so excited to have finally helped out XDA when it comes to the Treo 750!

hey great work!!! is there anyway you can make your perfect working wm6.5 rom with wm6.5.3, its just that wm6.5.3 looks so awesome!!!!!! but more than anything thanks for your effort i think you are the only remaining chef for our treo, but there is still this problem of titanium i know that ytou just started and thats why you havent added it but, whenever you add it there may be some problems that you may need to deal with, still this is the best rom i have seen so far and i can live without titanium, oh and about the s2u i dont see any need to install it right now as the normal lock button is working, but still it looks pretty cool maybe we should just put the download link next to the rom, as some people may not like it
the biggest problem at either some people may not like an app, they may want more memory instead of the app, or it is a pain in the ass trying to update that app later.
and about the wm6.5.3 maybe could you leave the fonts as they are? is just that in wm6.5.3 when you open a list the letters are just to big also when you open a menu and as our treos screen is so small... maybe it could be wm6.5.3 with wm6.5 fonts for menus and lists

hey great work!!! is there anyway you can make your perfect working wm6.5 rom with wm6.5.3, its just that wm6.5.3 looks so awesome!!!!!! but more than anything thanks for your effort i think you are the only remaining chef for our treo, but there is still this problem of titanium i know that ytou just started and thats why you havent added it but, whenever you add it there may be some problems that you may need to deal with, still this is the best rom i have seen so far and i can live without titanium, oh and about the s2u i dont see any need to install it right now as the normal lock button is working, but still it looks pretty cool maybe we should just put the download link next to the rom, as some people may not like it

Believe me buddy, you are not asking too much. My regret right now is that I cannot upload right now, and that if only I had done this 6 months ago Treo users wouldn't have had to wait for so long to have WM6.5 on our phones.
Some things I need to clear up, lol the reason why the Palm plugins "Active call" and "Dial Lookup" were disabled in my tests builds, is because Titanium overwrote their registry settings because, whenever Titanium is enabled, no other plugins can run on the today screen. So I had to take out Titanium for good, just so that the Palm plugins can run.
About S2U, you're right about RAM, WM6.5.3 uses up more by default (my suspicion is the Theme), so including it would probably make only 20MB RAM available lol.
and about the wm6.5.3 maybe could you leave the fonts as they are? is just that in wm6.5.3 when you open a list the letters are just to big also when you open a menu and as our treos screen is so small... maybe it could be wm6.5.3 with wm6.5 fonts for menus and lists

You know, I'm glad you asked me about this. This is controlled by the .tsk file and the .png images that make up the Classic Blue today theme. As long as I reconfigure the .tsk file (not sure if my WM5 skinning program can support WM6.5.3) and edit the images into a smaller size (should work, I did a little test and the menu now looks like just a slightly larger WM6 menu), it will be usable.

Post #2 contains my changelog for now, as you can see I'm really working on the bugs right now. As of this moment, all bugs have been taken care of except the memory leak, but man I really need that keyboard replacement. It's tough always flashing via USB...

A micro SD adapter, huh. Dealextreme.com has it for dirt cheap (with free shipping), although I had problems with the adapter. I tried my 16GB Micro SD with a more reliable adapter, and both builds are able to read it. Really cool how my projects have come along.
I also updated posts 1 and 2 with more info and teaser screens. Enjoy and Monday-Tuesday is going to be a great day! (hopefully Monday)

Hmm? I did not include Titanium in any build. It just wouldn't work (probably because I never looked into it an focused on the Red button more)
All calling related features of the Treo are handled by the Palm OEM applications, with the exception of SMS related features.
By the way, do you guys use MMS often? I just realized my ROMs do not have this capability (I never used MMS, too expensive). I could include an MMS program...
nah, i never use even sms, if needed i can download an mms app, so doint worry about it right now, most of us use this work phone for music and games (wich i think is stupid -.-) but anyway, i dont think we use it to much.
o and about the titanium maybe on another build, as the red button is working maybe the calling app that navs rom already has could be an alternative, but right now i cant wait for wm6.5.3 roms release!

Right ... I think I'd better "pull the plug" as they say on this ROM.
There are currently too many problems apparent, which can not be directly fixed.
The problems unfortunately run deep.
Known Issues:

IE can lockup (randomly) on Images
Odd ActiveSync Behaviour & non-communications
Phone Settings Page failures
Button Page (strangely?) still present
Backlight Level/Flickering
Duplicate Items (bad decision on my part)
BT Profile not appearing in Startup (Profile Bug actually)
Power Manager Bug
Battery Polling/Timing & Reporting
UPX'd Applications may be causing failures
Eval Calc continually reports "Error"
Repllog fills the event reporting
These problems most likely stem from various sources:
Optimization features to improve speed (Data issues / PIM corruption)
Interaction of AKU2 elements with AKU0 (repllog.exe Errors / ActiveSync)
UPX compressed applications (Random 'odd' behaviour)
Filesystem Respecification (standard Directories instead of PermDirs)
Possible stability issues in vBar (Phone Application Restarting)
GWES subsystem / IE extensions (Images, Pictures & Video Failure)
Application resource allocation failures (Eval Calc Failing, & other failing installs)
I will be addressing these issues over the weekend. There WILL be a new ROM at the end of this time (called v1.5) which will be either one of two possible incarnations:
1). Returning to a prior Alpha Test version which proved VERY stable, but contained a lot less of the AKU2 elements from Himalaya (incl. updated BT for reliability *sigh*)
2). Moving even MORE of the Himalaya AKU2 ROM into the current Beta (and correcting the other issues) so as to have as few as possible AKU0 elements coexisting.
Until that time I STRONGLY recommend that everyone not use this ROM - except for further BETA testing and/or bug reporting and/or suggestions for improvement (which would be VERY appreciated!)
TuMa v1.5 WILL still have the SAME feature-set, and SAME feature-rich look, but this will also be working on ENABLING CABs, instead of being a complete 'out of the box' ROM.
Wherever possible everything will still be entirely contained in the ROM to save as much Storage Space as possible and be feature complete, requiring only shortcuts, or registry entries to enable the full 'power'.
Otherwise, in it's "AU NATURELLE" state, the v1.5 ROM will functionally operate as a 'base only' ROM - which can then be used to build from.
My sincere apologies for the troubles you've encountered so far ... however it has been INVALUABLE with all the feedback, and I will be addressing as many of the issues found as quickly as possible.
I'd gotten so close ... the "race" was almost won ... but, it just 'blew up' in the final 50 meters.

TuMa v1.4 has been released now for public BETA testing.
As with any BETA, backup your important data ... only time will tell how well everything has been edited/fixed/corrected in this ROM.
NOTE: There could still be some issues with this ROM, in that the performance has been increased to 'appease' those craving it, and also the feature set of the ROM has been updated to encompass everything requested.
There have been FAR too many changes, and FAR too many updates from v1.3 to even begin describing it. The ROM is now composed of 60% Wizard (Core), 20% Himalaya AKU2 (Updates), 10% Blue Angel (Drivers), and features taken from 5% Jasjar, 3% of Atom, 1% Acer, and 1% Custom Hex Edited Modules. 8)
Battery life should be much improved, speed should be about equal to Ivan's, bugs should be squashed.
Known BIG issues:
1). Sim Toolkit doesn't seem to work 100% for me - I get the menus up, but can't access all the data.
2). Bluetooth disconnect is still in this ROM.
3). Pictures & Videos Application is not working (fix being researched).
Otherwise ... let me know if you find anything!

OK, I've messed around with this new rom for a bit, and I've actually gotta say I prefer Tuma 1.3. The speed increase isn't significant enough to be worth adding more problems I outline below, without actually correcting any of the problems that I disliked in 1.3.
Improvements:
1) Single, fully functional WLAN Manager is nice.
2) I like the category based Program list, but your choice in some instances is well, strange. (ex. Windows Media in Office folder)
New Problems:
1) Phone settings was missing the first page (ring tone/style selection) on my first boot. Seems to be there now though. Odd.
2) Pictures & Videos (Renamed...) does not work at all. Definately a big piss off for me.
3) Internet explorer just locked up my PPC. I used it alot in 1.3, and I never experienced that. I'll see if I can reproduce it.
Dislikes:
1) Renamed Programs. I don't really like that you chose to rename the shortcuts to many Microsoft Programs. Ex: Pictures & Videos to Picture Viewer, File Explorer to Windows Explorer. Since every copy of WM5 has all these programs named the same since they are core programs, I don't think you should be renaming the shortcuts.
2) Some hefty programs. I liked that in Tuma 1.3 there was a nice balance between what was already there, and how much was left up to user discretion. By adding large programs with many alternatives such as Total Commander and vBar, I can't help feel you've crossed the line.

Had major problems getting it to sync
Have reinstalled the Activesync twice now.. It connects (at bloody last! 3 hours and multiple soft resets later!) , goes through the new device blah blah, and then just sits at the Activesync page! Says it is connected, with LOADS of datat flowing between the device and A/S.. bot not synchronizing!
Any ideas?

Ok ... there were a few problems in v1.3 which are definately fixed in v1.4. The speed should be noticable, but isn't the biggest 'draw-card'. Stability, and integration should be ... but as always ... can't please everyone.

1). That was a bit of work ... required some 'artwork', 'hex-editor' and 'resource hacker' customization to achieve.
2). So, is "Windows Media Player" a "Tool" then? I couldn't decide either. Well ... in the end I wasn't quite sure 'where' to put that one ... you can move them easily y'know. Besides ... it is delibrately put into the main start menu as "Media Player" so you have direct access to it from there, but also have access through the Programs Menu.

1). Hmmm ... can't say I've ever seen that. Works fine on my device - so maybe something subtle is happening in the Radio Layer. Most of the RIL core is now from the Himalaya AKU2.
2). Now that's a BUG which MUST BE FIXED. Damn. It was working perfectly all the previous times I have tested and worked with it. I must have done something registry-wise which is now preventing load on my last build. I will find a fix/patch for this and post it as a CAB.
3). I've been using IE over WiFi for quite a lot of surfing - not one lockup to date - incl. having BT Stereo Wireless Headset playing (albeit a bit stutteringly) in the background. I will test further when I have more time.
So ... I'll add my own one ...
4). BT Wireless Stereo Profile has some (irritating) stuttering, but otherwise works quite reliably. Need to look at performance requirements and/or wave audio driver.

1). Well, you will notice that there are TWO copies of each of the applications you mention. FIRST in the Start Menu (for direct access - named as normal), and a SECOND time in the Programs folder. In order to NOT have naming conflicts for two shortcuts (if moved), they MUST be named differently. This is an unfortunate side-effect of how the Menu Manager works. You could just delete the copy you don't want. That's what Total Commander is for.
2). Again ... both of those apps can be readily 'hidden' if you wish. vBar can be quickly disabled (just turn it off in it's control panel), and similarly the icon for Total Commander can be removed. It costs NOTHING to have them in the ROM - all of your storage space is still 100% free for you to use however you wish, for whatever you wish.

No worries ... as said - the ROM is aimed at an audience to work "out of the box", not necessarily for the "power hacker" who needs to customize every last element.
But having said that - everything is READILY possible to disable in the ROM, either through checkboxes, or simply by removing shortcuts. Nothing is so 'entrenched' as to be necessary, and nothing is so necessary as to not be 'disabled' easily.
Anyways ... as before, this is BETA, and I welcome constructive feedback (and criticisms) such as this! I want to resolve the last few 'annoying' bugs and try to get to a robust and stable (feature-rich) ROM.
So ... speak your thoughts ... good / bad / ugly ... let me know!

I really like the idea of a custom build, with shortcuts names changed, lots of small softwares installed and a well tweaked registry.

Hmmm ... this is a bit ODD. There shouldn't be any 'fairies' dancing around in the OS. Maybe a few "Angels" ... but no "Fairies".
Please let me know if you're experiencing any 'odd' behaviour. Such as 'Phone Panels' not appearing, 'Active Sync' not working immediately, 'WiFi' issues, or otherwise. Maybe a 'Gremlin' has snuck into my 'Frankenstein' ROM Monster.

In about a week (assuming that G.W.B. can resist starting WWIII for that long), I'm going to build another ROM. This time I'd like to get some input on what to include.
A few things to keep in mind:
1) The goal is to include apps and hacks that appeal to the widest audience and are useful. If it's something that's not useful to a lot of people, then there's no reason to put it into a ROM. I can add more themes and ringers as well, but they should appeal to as broad a group as possible.
2) I won't include any commercial apps. Not even in an unregistered state. I might consider things that have been extracted from other ROMs, but I'm debating that with the voices in my head and will decide later.
3) Apps should be mature, not beta, if possible. I don't want to have to rebuild the ROM every time a new beta version of an app comes out.
4) If possible, attach registry hacks in the form of .reg files to your request. Or at least post the registry entry in you message.
5) It would we swell if someone could take the lead on tallying up the suggestions and help to prioritize. I'll shoot for building the ROM in about 10 days.
If we can keep the additions under 5 Megs total I think we'll be OK.
Here's what will be in there as of now (which is in the current custom ROMs)

-digital, cellular, and electronic ringers
-.NET Compact Framework 2
-A2DP/AVRCP
-Wireless Today screen plugin
-enable multi-select/delete contacts

First I want to say thinks for the bang up job you have done on putting together these roms for us.
The only things that I would like to see that I can think of would be the registery hack that makes GPRS/EDGE stay on all the time. And I would also like, if it is possible, anything that would make the phone us a WiFi connection, when present and turned on, instead of GPRS/EDGE.
I am not sure if it is possible to do that or not.

I think these are good apps that everyone could use.
the only thing i think would be beneficial would be adding all the reg edits that reg wiz adds to speed up our device, so we don't have to do it each time we clear storage. THAT would be awesome. i could care less about apps being included, i can install them just fine; but it's a pain in the ass every time i clear storage/flash new rom, that i have to redo all the reg tweaks.
I haven't found a way, but more emphesis on Storage Memory than Program memory would be good for me. I use alot of storage memory with Contacts, Email (even with moving my attachments to storage) and Calendar databases.
I used the much cleaner 2.17 RUU rom without the ringtones but did copy over a couple of them from the 2.17 with RT and OC. Also copied the OMAP clock and it's shortcuts.
A clean Rom without much of the extras would be good.
I also have customized my Cingular connection to use isp.cingular and [email protected] instead of the built in wap.cingular and [email protected] connection. I also turned of the proxy as it was interfeering with my AKU2 push from my Exch2K3-SP2 box.
Is there anyway to use the EXT ROM or add a slider bar like in WM2003SE?

- smartskey, I agree, but I think it's ini file needs to be in the same directory and it's small so this may not work
- RegWizard (the xda developer forum developed list of hacks), although actually i don't think this is necessary because it along with its framework requires over a meg, and you can just delete it once you install the desired reg hacks. . .
- Magic Button or some other similar task manager thing
I don't think more themes or ringers would be uniformly useful.

I've gotten in the habit of shutting down apps through the running programs tab under memory. Is there any way to make this easier such as putting a direct link in the Start menu to this page or on the Today list.
You know, summiter, you could just fix it so that the programs actually close when you hit the X.

Not unless he is going to rewrite the way Windows Mobile works. Thats a M$ thing. And also why apps such as vBar and Magic Button and InClose exist.
Summiter may be a ROM compiling wizard but lets not lay too many burdens at his feet to fix.

Continued Bluetooth Fixes
I have notice several still having Bluetooth issues with the lack of support; specifically, SSP over bluetooth. This opens up additional application possibilities not available today. I wouild like to run Bluetooth GPS with receivers such as the Holux 236 GPSlim, but the lack of SSP makes this almost impossible.

I'd like to see common registry hacks already applied and perhaps a txt file explaining the ones included with the new ROM. For example, the ones I listed below are from my own notes so when I re-flash I can re-apply them.
Regarding software, I'd almost prefer to see CAB files instead of pre-loaded software. Since CABs disappear once installed, we could make the choice of installing or deleting, and thus possibly save space but also gain the benefit of having them ready-to-install. You could even use different subdirectories for free vs the ones requiring a registration code to help keep the surprise / disappointment factor down (when we find out it costs money). This would also prevent a problem of competing solutions for some who prefer one plugin over another if they both serve a common function.
Along the same lines, I believe registry hacks can be applied via CAB files or maybe even .reg files (or maybe not - I'm still educating myself with all of this). You could stick with what you have for the current ROM but load it up with optional extras which could be deleted if we just didn't want them.
I think what you're doing is great and applaud your efforts!

I think you should also consider a paired down ROM. One without any Cingular addons that aren't required to make the device work on Cingular. Basically only the ones that set up MMS and the GPRS settings. I'd even leave out the proxy if thats possible.
But in this paired down ROM I'd still include a few extras like some extra themes and ringers.
And I'd put in the two programs I don't think anyone can live without, SmartSkey and TotalCommader.
Thats basically the setup I have now, but I'm wasting space in my extended ROM and other areas because there are things on my device that I can't remove and I'm not using.

haha this is at least the second message that goes something like: "how about a ROM stripped of everything, but add this and that and oh yeah add this too". I say this in good fun so don't take offense. It just indicates that everyone has quite unique needs.
I will create a barebones ROM as well. But I don't want to have too many ROMs out there because I don't want to have to rebuild them all when something changes.
As far as using the Extended ROM for other purposes..as of now it can't be done. It's locked in some way that prevents effectively using as storage space. (if you try to manipulate it, it becomes corrupted). So the only use for it is to install stuff at first boot.

So what makes mine different? Well, my app is actually very similar to MastSogo's ManilaControl. The main difference is that I plan to actively develop it now for a while, whereas ManilaControl has been a bit frozen in development for a few months. Mine is also open source, licensed under the Ms-RL. Mine is on CodePlex, so download speeds should be much better than the average rapidshare link. Finally, mine is in English and not Spanish. Other than that, it's just another solution for the same problem!

I believe I am using a similar technical solution to his, but mine is written from the ground up, so it shares no source code with his!

Current features
- Free up your Today screen by hosting Manila outside of the Today screen! TouchFlo Detacher can launch/show/hide/close Manila independent of any other Today screen settings. Now you can have your TouchFlo cake and eat it too! The most obvious use is to assign a soft key to toggle between seeing TouchFlo and seeing the regular Today screen.
- Supports TouchFlo 3D and TouchFlo 2D.
- NO ANNOYING SPLASH SCREEN when application launches.

Known Issues
- On the Touch HD, the home hardware button does not return to the Manila "home" tab. This does not happen on the Pro or Diamond. Workaround: none. Scheduled fix: unknown.
- Sometimes the clock on the TouchFlo home page will stop and go out of sync with the real time. Workaround: hide and then show manila. I may need to create a scheduled task that can do that as an automatic workaround once per day for those experiencing the problem. Scheduled fix: unknown.

Q: I uninstalled TouchFlo Detacher but TouchFlo did not come back!
A: Changes made with TFDConfig will not automatically be undone when you uninstall TouchFlo Detacher. To get TouchFlo back, go into your phone's settings. Go into Today. Go to the "items" tab. Check in "TouchFlo 3D" (or 2D or whatever). Exit. TouchFlo will be back.
Q: I uninstalled TouchFlo Detacher but my softkeys did not go back to the way they were before!
A: Changes made with TFDConfig will not automatically be undone when you uninstall TouchFlo Detacher. Do not worry! Fixing this is very simple. Before uninstalling TFD, it's recommended you run TFDConfig one more time and reassign the softkeys to whatever you want them to be. For TouchFlo's softkeys, all you have to do is set them both to empty (as in, nothing) to get the default softkeys (phone/programs). For Today's softkeys, you can assign them to whatever you want -- calendar, phone, contacts, your choice!
If you have already uninstalled TFD, you will need to use a registry editor to reset the values. Here are the relevant keys:

It may work with TF2D, I just have no way to test it since my device is TF3D. In the config, you can specify the location of the Manila EXE and the window class/titles. I'm assuming since MastSogo's did both, it's just a matter of tweaking those settings. As soon as somebody gets me that info, I can add it into the config app.
Installed on a Wizard (WM6.1 5.2.20273) running Manilla2D, set Today screen to use TodayAgenda 1.5 only. After soft reset, I get a Win32Exception with the following debugging information (see attached).
I'm checking the launch parameters in the config now (I started with the defaults).
Sheesh, I should have checked the parameters before going to the work of assembling that debugging jpeg. For Manila2D, the two references to Manila.exe need to be changed to Manila2D.exe. I still don't have it working, but at least it only throws one error message now.
I don't have any more testing time today. Good luck with your app.

As Uracil said, the name of the executable for TF2D is Manila2D. That's why Manila control needs a config program. It asked which one you are using and sets the parameter accordingly.

Ran through the steps to set it up, on soft reset the device hangs at the startup HTC animation, Hard reset time , the manila im using has the following mods:
CFC Compression
Background 4 all tabs (mun rus)
Stocks tab
HD contacts
Will investigate further..
EDIT: Havent been able to replicate this issue after a hard reset, probably something else i installed.
Minor issue ive spotted though, set left softkey in TF3D to "Today" which hides TF3D....in the blank today screen i dont see the setting for the left softkey (Which is set to "TouchFlo 3D" and should show TF3D) i still see the softkey setting from when TF3D is visible. So the effect is i cant get back to TF3D after hiding it unless i literally run it from the start menu.

WM 6.x and newer raised the process limit to 32768, so you should be fine.
EDIT: I was wrong! Don't believe me! Keep reading below. (The short of it: WM6 is based on CE 5.0, NOT CE 6.0, which is the version of CE that doesn't have the 32 process limit.)

The exception you showed is the service not finding the EXE. There are two places you need to change it. The "EXE Only" config is just the name of the EXE (for finding it in the running process list). The "full path" is where the file is located in the file system (including the EXE name!). Did you change both?
Thanks for the info. I'm going to make that "file not found" error more friendly for beta2. Also, now that I know what I'm looking for, I can add a built-in way to switch from Manila3D to Manila2D.

Does it get to the Today screen at all? The service is in the Startup folder. All it does is try to Launch manila.exe at startup (you can actually even disable that if you want to in the config), so it would be really weird if that froze the device. Not saying it's not possible, just really really weird!

No man you are wrong (100%).
In *my* WM6.1 at least, the limit is 32. Well in fact all WM6.1.
Only new WinCE (not the builds used in WM6.X) have lifted this limit.
WM7 is supposed to not have this limit (because uses different WinCE) and a very small possibility (like 5%) that WM6.5 will have this limit lifted.
With the help of Daniel Herrero (the guy that makes CommManagerPro) we even built a simple app that we run as much as we could, to test this.
Sure enough my device after 4-5 runs started killing other apps. After 1-2 more runs, I got a pop-up that said that I cannot run more apps because I reached the process limit. My device is a loaded Touch Pro.
His much lighter X1, sure enough came to the same result, but only after more runs, about 10 or something (since he had more process "slots" free).
So you probably have to (and please do) rethink your strategy (for example use a REAL service or handle things based on triggers) as processes ARE a scarce commodity in WM.
At least add a mode or something that doesn't use a process all the time (even with some extra delay). I will certainly NOT eat more of my processes.

You are right. I was going on what I read on another website from a while back. I just did some research and, sure enough, WM6 is based on CE 5, which has the 32 process, 32MB limit still in place.
The strategy I am using will not change as there is no way (that I know of) to write a service DLL in the Compact Framework, but if somebody knows of a way, I will certainly look into it.
EDIT: I did a check and I'm only running 24 processes with my media app, Total Commander, TFD, 3 other "service" apps (dont forget, PocketShield, VistaHide Battery Bar). That leaves me with 6 more apps until WM6 gets nervous (it seems to close after going above 30). How are you so close? I'm not judging your mobile computing habits, I'm just curious! Also, I'm thinking of rolling the "service" code into stand alone EXEs for cases like yours, but it will be very slow switching back and forth. I tested that at first before deciding on the memory resident app and it took about 5 seconds to switch each time. But maybe you'll have better luck!

It's possble the HD may have a slightly different Manila configuration than the Diamond/Pro. If you find the manila.exe and can scan the window classes and titles (such as with FDCsoft's Task manager) that will give you the info you need to configure it for the HD. If you figure it out, post it here so I can add it to the config app.

Let me see if I am understanding you. The left soft key on the "real" Today screen says "TouchFlo" but it isn't launching TouchFlo? If you go into the configuration and set the Today left soft key using my quick drop down (Show TouchFlo 3D) this doesn't fix the issue? If so, can you post what the app path is that it is showing?
Ok just cooked this up over the weekend .. still needs a little tweaking and testing - is the first ROM that I have released - I think it is kinda clean

BTW I read somewhere that it is possible to increase SnapVue's RAM to 64 MBs - sounds like a load of * to me ... but let me know if you know how to do this as it is really SnapVue's downfall IMHO

To disable: Start > Settings > Voice Command > Uncheck Enabled
WARNING - IF PROGRAMS CLOSE UNEXPECTEDLY: This is because your low on RAM - you can stop the Voice Commander service as stated above, or download advanced config and prevent HTC Task Manager from closing apps automatically when low on RAM

OK thought I'd put together a list of common questions that people have with this ROM to stop me answering the same questions again and again.
Q: What else is included in the Flash

A: Well if you have used custom ROMs in the Past you can just download and run the EXE - else you will have to "Liberate" your shift - connect it to your Vista side with USB Tools and then run the EXE
Q: How do I disable T9
A: Open the input options for the Full QWERTY Keyboard - Click T9 Settings then un-check all the checkboxes
Q: The WM side turns off and will not come back on
A: If this happens to you go to ( on the WM side) Settings > Connections > USB to PC application and tick "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" (thanks nbos04)
A2: You can also disable (Under Settings>Power>Advanced) the option to turn off the device when it is not used for X.
Q: Programs keep closing unexpectedly
A: You may be low on RAM - if this is the case you may want to kill the Voice Command Service, as this takes up to 4MBs of RAM constantly
Q: How can I change the Keyboard Language?
A: The registry setting for the keyboard layout is as follows HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang; The complete list of values to enter can be found here; however not all are fully compatible with the Windows Mobile platform; also changing these key mappings will not change the large on screen keyboard - to change the on screen one you will need to either edit the eT9.Raphael.0409.kmap.txt file (advanced but allows for custom layouts); or download another layout from here.
I will consider including the additional on screen keyboard languages in future releases.
Q: How do I set the data connection on the W/M side to auto - disconnect as it drains the battery too quickly?
A: The registry setting for the to auto disconnect the data connection is at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings. In there you have the setting CacheTime this is the number of seconds that will elapse before auto disconnection the data connection when not in use; change this as appropriate. You will also need to turn on the auto disconnection by editing the SuspendResume to read: GPRS_bye_if_device_off
(Note: if the auto disconnection still does not work make sure that you are not constantly connected to data - ie. Exchange server set to receive items as they arrive)

There is no way to get 64 mb of ram as this is the current chipset capacity, without OS loaded.
44Mb is my maximum storage available (with a functionning system of course)

I will install the calc skin from my touch pro and see how that runs - also will rip some more "unnecessary" stuff out such as bluetooth since it doesn't work anyway and will hopefully free up some memory too

don't know if it works but judging by my touch pro the interface only works in Portrait (it may still work but will load in portrait)
as for the calc skin i have attached it to this post with a screen shot
will also post a newer version of my ROM, later tonight, that has ~22.5 MBs of free space (and 27.95 total user area) after boot and ~16 MBs of free ram ... seems to be more stable also
may embed the calc skin into later builds ... but it's a little big for my tastes for something i don't use

I'm having a bizzare problem setting up my email accounts for some reason. It is tricky entering my username and password, and when I try to auto detect the account configuration it says it cannot connect. When I go BACK, the password field contains more characters than I originally entered. I haven't tried manually setting up the full account yet, but this behaviour I haven't seen before.
I haven't worked out how to get the voice control goodies working yet but I'll enjoying tryin all of that out this week. I wouldn't miss voice control at all on your next ROM release however.

Comm Manager under SnapVue Settings seems to run without displaying anything. I hope that can be fixed...

Have been using the new ROM and am happy to report that it is notably more responsive and faster.
I was delighted to find screen orientation option for portrait under settings, so thanks for that. Although I did manage lose the start menu at some point so I was stuck on the Snapvue page and was forced to reboot from Vista. I'll let you know the details if I repeat it.
The modem is totally stable, which is great. I didn't manage to work out how to install youtubeplay but it's no showstopper, I'm very please with the ROM. I installed fexploreext which is small but infinitely useful.

Will try to post a new release before Wed next week ... any suggestions for the new release? - I am considering taking out Opera Full and loading Opera mini instead as it requires less RAM.

Have you installed a custom rom onto your device before?
You need to Hard SPL on it prior to trying to flash this ROM
The error codes are listed here:

This page states
ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
I would try again and if that doesn't work

I have tried thai hugos and gullims and been disappointed with various things so i'm goign to try yours. I was intending to try to install my tiny kensington mouse which is bluetooth and worked with my advantage but if you've ripped BT out I can't is there a way to put it back in?
Thw worst thing i found about the other rom's is the fact stoopid usb tool never stays connected, anyone else have that issue?
edit: found some stuff about usb tool issues on the forum and trying those.

Yes, the "flashing process" worked perfectly... but I was a bit disappointed with the fact that the ActiveSync process was unable to complete the update of my 325 contacts : it always failed after 116 contacs updated...
So I tried a french ROM (the "French light GPS" one) and it worked...
Maybe a language issue...
If you want me to go back to your ROM and work together to sort this out, I'd be pleased to help...

This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch Pro2 (Rhodium) device.
This ROM only works on GSM devices, flashing to a CDMA device will make it non-bootable (flash a stock, or CDMA specific ROM, to recover from that).
I do make a CDMA version (Sprint, Verizon, Altel, etc) and that's found here!
The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs about twice a week, as new builds come down the pipe or as new software/updates are available.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.

I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!
Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.
A 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner. This build uses the same stock system that came with your device. This is usually the fastest and most stable build, but it's also the least fancy

The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come in two versions, Cookie 1.8.5 and Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie" and "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)
You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.
The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and

This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.
Everything has been skinned, including Sense, the start menu items, the soft keyboard, parts of the dialer... etc
_LeCiel_'s ".sencity"
This ROM is themed with the .sencity theme released by _LeCiel_ who is a very talented artist ! Please support his work if possible.
.sencity is not %100 complete yet, but _LeCiel_ is working hard on finishing his work to completely skin the entire ROM.

Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)
This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)

ROM features at a glance:
Very fast startup time. You find any startup wizards in this ROM. You'll be up and running in a couple minutes after flashing the ROM.
XDA_UC is built in. It will import your custom XML and REG files from your storage card after first boot.
My own Settings Exporter application is found in the Tools folder. Use it to export all your settings after you customize the device. When a new ROM comes down the line, use it to import everything and save time.

1 - THE BASICS:
GSM vs. CDMA: This thread and ROMs are for GSM phones ONLY! If your phone is CDMA (Sprint, Verizon, Altel, etc.), CDMA versions of this ROM can be found here. Flashing to a CDMA device will make it non-bootable (flash a stock, or CDMA specific ROM, to recover from that).
How to check if your phone is GMS or CDMA: Look the model number under the battery. RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD210, RHOD300 are GSM. RHOD400 and RHOD500 are CDMA.
Different flavors of the ROM: This ROM is offered in several flavors. Please read the #2 post to better understand each and pick the one you prefer.
The numbering system used on the ROM: The ROMs have different builds, identified by a number such as 216xx or 219xx. To learn more about what the numbers mean, some differences between the builds, and performance benchmarks, check this thread.
ROM Language: Energy ROMs are available in English and a few other languages. The Chef is progressively increasing the language options, based on demand. However, keep in mind that it is unlikely that there will be a version for every single language, so complaining about it won't help.
New versions of the ROM: New versions are posted often. Usually twice a week. There is a changelog in the 3rd or 4th post. However, the Changelog isn’t always up to date. Often the most current changelog is made available first at the Leo (HD2) thread. In order to keep the thread clean, please DO NOT keep asking what is new, or complaining that there is no Changelog. Either wait for one, or flash the ROM and see for yourself.
How to flash the ROM: There is an excellent guide here. Also, make sure to read topic # 4 below ("SUGGESTED SEQUENCE TO INSTALL A NEW ROM"), with a suggested sequence to install things progressively, and help you to pinpoint any issues you may have with a new ROM.
Radio: Radios are separate from the ROM and control the phone's communication hardware. This ROM DOES NOT change your radio, the same way that flashing a new radio does not change your ROM. Radios may work better or worse depending on your service provider and your location. Radios (and discussions about them) are found here.
Battery: This ROM is set for performance, and it is likely it will use more battery. However, after flashing a new ROM, it takes a few charge/discharge cycles for the battery gauge to stabilize, so please refrain from posting comments/complaints about battery life. Some good hints about the battery can be found here.
Carrier Provisioning: There are many different carriers, and some require different provisioning. If you are experiencing issues such as sending/receiving SMS/MMS, or your physical keyboard is not mapped corrected, you MAY need to provision for your carrier. For AT&T and T-Mobile, go to Start > Tools > Carrier Provisioning and select your carrier. For other carriers, go to Start > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks and either select from the drop down menus to edit or click on New to add a new one (you may need to contact your carrier to get the configuration information).
For AT&T, carrier provisioning can be performed automatically through XDA_UC by copying energy_att.cab from \Windows to \Storage Card\XDA_UC.
XDA_UC: EnergyROMs use XDA_UC, which is a tool to automate some of the installation and configuration steps. There is a good thread with XDA_UC hints and tips here.

Add-ons: NRGZ made a few add-ons available on his website. To check them, click here.
Settings: The Sense interface has several settings, including the ability to remove tabs or change their sequence. These settings can be found on the last tab, called… Settings! Additional settings can be changed with BsB Tweaks, and Advanced Config, both can be found at Start > Tools.
Screen rotation with keyboard closed : Some applications already have the screen rotation activated by default. In order to activate others, you either go to Start > Tools > BsB Tweaks > Menu > Rotation, or install a program such as ChangeScreen. If you are familiar with editing the Registry, additional applications can be also be added at HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSensor\GSensor.
Changing the Time Zone: Go to Start > Settings > Clock & Alarms.
Changing the soft keys on the Home screen: To change the left soft key, use Start > Tools > BsB Tweaks > Menu > Left Manila Softkey. There is no user accessible way to change the right soft key.
Closing or changing the soft keyboard: The builds running Windows Mobile 6.5.3 have a special way of dealing with the soft keyboard. If you tap on the the right side of the keyboard icon, you get the menu which presents you with a choice of soft keyboards. Tap anywhere on the icon to open or close the soft keyboard.
Disabling internet push: Newest versions of EnergyRom have internet push enabled. If you prefer to disable it, the instructions are here.
Notifications: If you are not receiving a notification (such as when you receive a SMS or e-mail), or want to change your notification settings and sounds, go to Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications. Click on the drop down menu to select the event you want to configure. If you want to manage the led notifications, install the cab posted here.
The phone no longer asking about USB connection type when connecting it via USB: Go to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and check the last box (the one that says “Ask me first…”)
FM radio: Newest versions of EnergyRom were modified to allow the use of FM Radio without headphones. However, the headphones also worked as antenna. So, if you don’t have a strong FM signal in your area, you may not get any station. Some people resolved the problem by plugging the headphone adapter (the rectangular dongle) into the phone, and sticking the stylus into the adapter's headphone jack. This way, the stylus works as an antenna.
Sending MMS with AT&T: Run the Carrier Provisioning at Start > Tools, select ATT 2. The download and install this CAB http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...4&d=1271445465 to adjust the maximum size to 600k.
Twitter tab: If you don't flash new ROMs very often, or if you get many tweets in a short period of time, you may want to clean them once in a while as ALL of them get stored on your phone, and this can cause performance issues. To do that, turn off Sense (Start > Settings > Home > Items > uncheck HTC Sense) and then delete the files in \Temp\twiteng\Db. Make sure not to delete any other files in the \Temp\twiteng directory. The other folder stores your log in token file. After doing that, do not forget to turn Sense on again.
SMS "traditional" look: If you don't like the new style of SMS in some of the EnergyROM builds (the "balloons"), you can revert back to the traditional one by installing this cab, ripped from the stock ROM.
Increase the Number of Allowed Recipients in Group SMS: The max number of default contacts to send a group SMS is 10. You can change it to 50 by changing the registry entry
HKLM\Software\Jataayu\Messaging\MaxRecipients
Change Windows Mobile SMS Client skin: To change the "skin" used for Windows Mobile SMS Client ONLY please follow the directions in this thread. For example: The Astronaut Manila skin is available as a .CAB and will revert your SMS style back to "default" or "original" style. Additionally, you may choose to further customize your own style by making changes to the CSS (documentation is in the posted thread).
Video Codec suggested settings: If you are copying a video to play on your phone, these are some setting a member successfully tested:
Xvid/Divx compatible (h.263)
File Extension: m4v or mp4
fps: 23.976
Resolution: 800x480 (400x240 for smoothest video)
Video Bitrate: 600-800 kbps
Audio Bitrate 128-192 Stereo
This was tested with AVS Video Converter. Results with other encoders may vary. VBR (variable bitrate encoding) will give better quality if you encoder supports it but will take longer..
Splash Screen: The splash screen is that initial screen that shows when you turn the phone on. Usually it shows "TouchPro2". Some ROMs change the splash screen, but EnergyROMs don't.
If somehow you changed your splash screen by either flashing a different one, or by flashing a different ROM that changed it, and you want to revert back to the original screen, download it from here. To flash, follow the same procedure you would execute when flashing a ROM.
NOTE: Performing Task29 DOES NOT erase your splash screen (or your radio).
Physical keyboard repeat rate: In Settings> Personal> Buttons, there is an "Up/Down Control" tab. There, you can adjust the repeat rate and the delay before repeating for all hardware keys (despite the name "Up/Down Control"). Both are set to the fastest settings on EnergyROMs.
Playing music with screen off: If you want to be able to play music with the screen off to save battery, install this cab. NO LONGER NEEDED AFTER AUG 22, 2010 as the change is already cooked in.
Changing the environment variables, such as default save path for cameras, documents, etc.: To change the default locations, go Start > Tools > Advanced Config> Locations and make the changes you want by either picking the right folder from the drop down menu or by clicking on "browse", and navigating to the folder you want, and then clicking on "Select". Do not forget to press "Done" in order to save your changes.
Increasing the in call volume: If the volume while in call is too low and you already adjusted the volume to the maximum, install this cab, and restart the phone.
Enabling Cingular Video for AT&T users: Apply the cab posted here.

3 - SOLUTIONS TO ISSUES:
ATTENTION: IF YOU ARE OVERCLOCKING YOUR PHONE AND EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES, FIRST OF ALL TEST IT WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN REPORTING WEIRD ISSUES AND END UP FIGURING OUT THEY WERE BEING CAUSED BY OVERCLOCKING.
Lack of memory to run programs (aka memory leak): If you are running out of memory you may experience correspondent error messages, or find out that some programs are unable to open, or that they suddenly close. Windows Mobile and many applications don't handle memory well, causing your phone to run out of memory to process the applications. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT OF THE ROM, so please DO NOT post complaints, or bug reports about it. A quick solution is either multi-task less, or reboot your phone regularly to "recover" the memory. Wrong physical keyboard configuration: If you are using AT&T or T-Mobile, and you are experiencing issues with the physical keyboard key configuration (FN not working, for example), you need to run the Carrier Provisioning that can be found at Start > Tools. Another alternative is to use a key remapper program such as this one.
Wrong or not getting “My Location” (on the Weather tab or Home): Your location is determined according to the cellular towers nearby. Depending on where they are and on the signal strength you are getting, you may see a wrong location. However, not all towers work for this despite the signal strength. Possibly they just don't send the request. Possibly they don't return the result. Some people reported that switching 3G off or off/on helped, but results vary. GPS and the ROM itself have nothing to do with it. An alternative is to add your city by clicking on the clock at the Home screen and then on Add City. The location feature depends heavily on Google's data about location. If Google's servers can't figure out where you are, your "My Location" feature will simply not work.
For people with AT&T: one member successfully fixed the location issue by installing the latest stock AT&T ROM (which updated the Radio and Rilphone) and then flashed the EnergyROM. His location then started to work fine. See his post here. MAY BE similar procedure would work for other carriers, using their correspondent stock ROMs.
ActiveSync unable to synchronize via USB: Some people reported that going to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and disabling 'enable faster data synchronization' worked for them, but results vary. This issue happens more often with Vista/Windows 7.
ActiveSync showing error 0x85010013 on the PC while trying to synchronize, unable to contact Exchange: Try the solution posted here, which was reported to have resolved the issue.
Incorrect unread count (SMS or e-mail): Normally this is caused by a PIM backup that was restored. Two solutions (a procedure and a cab) can be found here. Microsoft My Phone (under Start > Tools) is a better alternative to backup your PIM and other things such as documents, music, pics, etc.
Incorrect unread count (voice mail): Leave another message for yourself, retrieve and delete it. It should resolve the count error.
Phone showing there is a voice message but there is none: This may happen once in a while. To clean it, leave a voice message for yourself, retrieve it, and delete it. This will clean the notification.
Lack of weather updates: Sometimes the default weather server is down for a while and updates fail. An alternative would be to switch to Conflippers weather server, or enter your own in. The Weather City Editor created by JVH3 has that option, and can be found here.
Displaying some non-English fonts: If you installed a non-English font (like Chinese) and is having issues, or if you prefer the old font used (Tahoma) than the new one (Calibri) try this fix by changing this registry entry: HKLM\System\GDI\SYSFNT\Nm =Tahoma or by downloading and installing this CAB. Either way, perform a soft reset afterwards.
Strange characters on Quick Shutdown: If Quick Shutdown (the application that runs when you press and hold the power button) shows strange characters and you have changed your Regional Settings to something other than "English (United States)", then you will have to install a more current version of Quick Shutdown that supports other languages. It can be found here.
Difficulty in getting a GPS satellite lock: You may want to try this solution, which uses aGPS to obtain a faster lock. If you want to automate it using XDA_UC, check this post here.
Call waiting issues: There has been two types of call waiting issues identified:
1- Some people reported that their phones do not get a call waiting beep when they are on the phone and there is another incoming call. If you are experiencing this problem, a solution was posted here.
2- Others report that instead of getting a call waiting tone, the second call causes the first one to drop. In such case, the solution is here.
Garmin not working or freezing: This is caused by Ameba's position fix. Make sure Garmin (My Device/Garmin/que.exe) is in the exception list for position fix (NOT close button exception) or disable position fix. Access the options for this using the X-Button application in the Tools folder.
XML file not working with XDA_UC: Make sure it is in unicode. For details see http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...56#post6312056
Opera displaying an error message every time you boot the phone: If every time you power or reset your phone you get an error message such as "You tried to access the address file://localhost/at, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page", and your ROM is 21xxx, this may be due to PushInternet being enabled by default. In order to disable it, install this cab.
Stuck at "Launching HTC Sense...": If you get stuck on this message or if Sense is not loading even though it is checked under Settings > Home > Items, try deleting the folder "Application Data\HTC\databases" on the SD card, if any. Sense will recreate it and it should work fine. If you want an application to do it for you, check this post. NOTE: In the most recent EnergyROMs some changes were made and this folder may no longer exist, what is normal.
Freezes: This post addresses several possible reasons and solutions for freezes. Attention: Overclocking your phone may cause freezes. Test it without overclocking to figure out if OC is the culprit.
Problems with SD card: If your SD card has problems, it may cause the two issues listed above. If you want to check its integrity and fix any issues, please follow the steps on this post.
Wrong SMS Timestamp: If you are receiving text messages (SMS) with the wrong timestamp, what may cause them to be in the wrong order, a solution was posted here.
Unable to add a contact from the dialer: On the Aug 28 ROMs, there is a problem with Sense that prevents adding a contact from the dialer (someone calls you and after the call you want to add that person to your list of contacts). This should not be a problem in the most recent ROMs, but if you experience the problem you can use Pyrorob's fix, which can be found here.
Wrong time: Several people outside of the US reported problems with time after the US changed to/from daylight savings time (aka summer time and winter time). If your clock is one hour (or more) ahead or behind, do not use "get carrier time" and disable "automatic change time zone and clock" in personal -> phone settings.
Non-Transparent Contact Background: In some of the recent ROMs the Contact page has some reddish background that makes it difficult to read. The solution (a cab) to make it transparent can be found here.
4 - SUGGESTED SEQUENCE TO INSTALL A NEW ROM:
When flashing a new ROM for the first time, first disable XDA_UC or anything else that automatically installs or configures the ROM. Simply do the carrier selection when it comes up.
Download new ROM
Disable XDA_UC and the like
Perform Task29 on the phone
Enter Bootloader
Flash the new ROM
Select carrier
Do some basic testing
Set up some basic stuff manually
Do some testing
If all goes well, and you want to ensure XDA_UC is working fine, you can then re-enable XDA_UC and then Task29 and flash again. If you then seem some odd stuff (like Sense not even loading) you can start to troubleshoot your XDA_UC stuff.
Also, be careful with what other programs such as SPB Backup, PIM Backup, CHT import, Sashimi, etc. restore, as sometimes things don't translate well from one ROM to another.
5 - HOW TO POST A QUESTION ON THE THREAD:
First and foremost, read at minimum the last 2-3 days of posts on the thread to make sure the question was not already answered. If that does not help, then use the search feature of the thread. If nothing is found, then post your question to get help. In the majority of the situations, someone already experienced the problem and a solution was already posted.
In order to get help from other XDA members, when posting a question please make sure to include at minimum:
The ROM you have (Sense 2.1 or 2.5, build, date)
The device you have (there are variants of the Rhodium)
The Radio you have
Your location
Your service provider
The steps you took to get to the problem so we could try to reproduce it
If you tested it with a bare ROM to confirm it is not something you installed/restored
Any pictures showing the screens affected (if applicable)
6 - HOW TO REPORT A BUG:
If you believe you found a bug on the ROM, please report it by sending a Private Message to me, and I will compile a list to be sent to the Chef.
Please make sure to include the items listed above on #5, plus any potential solutions you may have identified.

XDA_UC FAQ
The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !
The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.
Some of the extra features are:
It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:
It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install custom XDAS scripts found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.
As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it.

Ok ive set that and ill see how it goes.
To get around the Manila mail been slooooow ive now copied the tmailsms.lnk from the windows dir and placed it in the start menu, programes folder. I then went into the properties and unticked hidden and system and ticked read only (had to do this because it was getting deleted everytime i soft reset). I also renamed it just to "Mail". Now i can set it to one of the quick link tabs on the home screen.

Don't you guys have a job or something? I'm eagerly awaiting the new rom as well, but I've only had the time to watch for a new one since 10 hours ago.
I would assume any time that takes longer than normal would end up being a full update because when he just tweaks and adds packages its usually done daily so think of it that way the longer you wait the better the new rom must be because it takes longer to cook in a new version of manila or 6.5 than it does just to tweak and add updated packages. So wait in anticipation of somthing great when it takes a while. And let the man breath, please I fix phones and computers and run a video store and working for other peoople is gratifying but hard and tireless work so let the man relax.
New ROM comin soon!!!
