7. Is switching between mainscreens as fast as in iphone?)
8. If you use not an original kernel, post the rom, where you take it.
9. some additional notes about problems in rom.

android .... why used android while winmo is a good os for your phone ?

bcoz of games, bcoz it different from winmo, bcoz winmo project is closed, so i could only upgrade to android.

i didn't write "as enjoable as in iphone", i mean the good speed.

looks like there's a problem with the device not turning off on standby.. the settings have an LCD time out time but the device does not turn off and keeps on using up the battery.. I have tested it by increasing the brightness to max and pushing the power button to turn it off.. what I see is the screen turns black but the the backlight is still on.. I even tried to wait for 30 minutes but it remains on.. which may mean the device is always on and using up power..
the development team did a very good job with this xandroid version but i hope they can fix this draining battery problem or it would not be practical for everyday use.. or i could just buy 2 extra batteries.. (",)..

I had this problem in old xdandroids and in roghbuntu. I don't know how about xdandroid now, but in my neopeek's rom screen turns off correctly.
URL on his port. BUT read how-to-install. there is different way from xdandro.

Hi, do you have the start up file for se xperia x1?

awesome works!!
thx

hi,
what is the real speed for xperia processor inside android? inside windows is 528MHz with nuedynamicclock utility.

nueDynamicClock 1.3 works on Imagio! Yay battery life!

Im so happy Have run the battery down low & not experianced any problems locking up when waking up from battery (provided you dont set the mhz too low when you suspend!!! It doesnt "lock up" so much as takes an eternity to wake back up, haha)
No good settings for you (running automatic voltage), 528mhz for 10 seconds, 245.76 system idle, 122.88mhz on backlight off, 61.44mhz on suspend.
19mhz suspend takes too long to wake to be worth it.
Anywho... Unplugged from the charger around 10pm last night @ 100%. Still on 85% almost 12 hours later! (haven't really used the phone much until right now hah)

http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/05/09/nueDynamicClock-13.aspx
Works out overall to over > 2 more days of standby VS what I was getting yseterday. Killer!
Fast enough underclocked @ 61mhz to play mp3/aac/htc FM player audio no skipping or problems.
Gotta love that LoL!
Personally, got it set to 528mhz for 10 seconds, then 61mhz after for anything else.
Don't think it is working for me. Says....
Current processor speed and voltage:
0.00 MHz @1.1V
Confirmed! It worked but it didn't help to improve my battery even i ran at power saving mode.
I bricked my phone doing some stupid registry edit (it was stupid... should have known better... Had Hex selected instead of Dec) anyways hard reset my phone installed everything including this and now it works ... I love happy accidents lol
i try to install this and it says it is being blocked by something on the phone? it says it will try to fix but needs to restart and then nothing? any help

My Xperoid (Android On Xperia) Review

hi everyone this is my 1st thread In XDA il just tell what i think and what is android on Xperia looks or how it works
1st of all i tried most versions available over here.. i might be wrong so people you can correct me..
what i got working on my Xperia in most versions :
*WiFi (hmm fully working)
*Phone (3G,Edge) all builds with no video call support??
*backlight (on) (off when sleep)
*Sounds ( Speaker On *(always on)*) (headphones On *not recognised by radio??*)
*Connection (Internet connection,MMS)
*Keyboard, Keypad
*SMS (send,receive)
........... Etc
Whats Not Working and problems have to be Fixed Soon so we finally can Get fully working android on Xperia X1:
*CAMERA (not very important right now because i think its hard to play with in porting)
*BATTERY usage or drainage ( Has many reasons i think because the Speaker is ALWAYS on ( you can put it Near your Ear n listen to it even when the phone is in sleep mode) programs working in background ( if you put your in sleep mode then wake it up later and check Advanced task Killer you will see many applications are working) Wifi always on?? ( if you don't turn on the Wifi in windows mobile android wont recognize it??
*front Keypad buttons wont work after leaving your phone in sleep mode for 1 hour (approximately) (Ok button) (right button) only???
*Bluetooth (atleast for file transfer)
*GPS i dont think its that important Now (at this time of port)
Other things are Working properly...
*****************************************
To get the Phone charging And with wifi working:
You have to plug it in Charge and make sure Wifi On before starting Heart
IF you dont plug it into the charger before Hitting Heart and you plug in while your in Android It will show that it is charging but it wont charge??
*shows Charging animation and you will see that the battery percentage decreasing as your using it without connecting to the AC adaptor
*****************************************
i think we have to go on to fix The battery drainage And Bluetooth now..
Together We Can Make It Better
Xperoid
they say forcharging that the battery drains more than it charges so it decreases...
for other things its all like you say, I pray for having great android on xperia because I love this phone and dont want another, but I dont like winmo ...
Google Roxx so I really want Android..If I could I would help but i dont know anything about it... so all I can do is Support all devs here!!!!! all do your best, there so many people waiting for you to make us dream of Android on X1 !!!

No Theres this thing you have to do*
Before hitting Haret You have to put the phone in charge and leave it charging until android is fully booted then if u unplug it and plug it again it will charge normaly
* Charging led wont turn off even if your phone is unplugged from the charger so i prefer to change the type of the led to (blue pulse)
anyhow it will go bk to normal when using Windows Mobile..

so if they solve battery heat and led problem we can use it everyday
and I think the touchscreen's less sensitive than in WM, maybe running on top WM make it a little slow
The battery Drain and heat i think its cause by WiFi because i think its always on...

[Q] Help, extreme battery drain!!

Hello
I can't use my Galaxy S more than 3 hours, after that the battery is on 0 %. I've tried some of the guides here, but nothing helps. My phone is running Darky's Rom 9.1 Extreme Edition. I would be thankful if some of you could help, so i can use my phone without it should be plugged in the charger!
- Mosawer
I also got some issues with darky's 9.1. Did you tried 9.2 version? it solved most of my battery problems. but still i can't wipe battery status from the CWM.
No but i would definitely try it. I've also had Darky's rom 8.0, and the battery life wasn't the best on that also. To be honest, my phone has never survived a whole day without i should plug in the charger. I've also tried the battery wipe, but it didnt work, actually it just got worse. Before i tried the battery wipe, it could hold 7-10 hours, but now i cant use it more than 4 hours.
you could calibrate your battery, as flashing ROMs all the time can confuse the battery and make it think it is at a different % than it actually is.. try this
1. Run the device down until it turns itself off.
2. Turn it back on and wait for it to turn itself off again.
3. Remove the battery for 10 seconds.
4. Replace the battery, but leave the device off.
5. Charge the device until full and then for another hour.
6. Boot into recovery and reset battery stats (or, go to console and type “su” enter, followed by “rm /data/system/batterystats.bin”)
7. Run the device’s battery down until it turns itself off.
8. Charge to full while off.
9. Restart and use as normal.
when you have done that you could try a battery saving app i use juice defender its free, but there is a paid version with more features. what this does is everytime the phone sleeps (screen off) it disables all connections like 3g wifi data mode etc but still allows you to receive calls and texts..
also get your self a good task killer, and place a icon on the home screen to kill running apps quick, i do this everytime i put my phone in my pocket, making sure nothing is eating my battery apart from me when im using it.
try them methods and post back with your results in say 2days time ?? good luck
EDIT: another thing to do is use automatic brightness, this adjust the brightness of the screen depending on the ambience of where you are. e.g if its sunny the screen dims down, if its dark it brightens up... great for saving battery.
Thanks man, i will try calibrating my battery this way, but dont think i'm gonna download the task killer og battery saver, but i'll sure post my result after i've tried it !
well there is samsungs own built in task manager its good, you will be suprised what apps open up on their own and start using your connections and running processes without you even knowing. all that drains battery. but just see how you go
Well it didnt work dude, the battery life still sucks as much as before
- Anyone else who wants to help me?
Maybe u need a new battery...

If you flash a rom and the battery no longer behaves as it should and hundreds of other posts report exactly the same problem . Then is it not the rom you flashed to blame .
jje
Yeah i know, but it was after i've flashed the problem occured. I tried calibrating my battery plenty times without luck.
- I really dont know what it is, and its very frustrating!!

Hey... first off, what sort of things are you doing with your phone? Casual browsing, youtube, streaming? Wifi, GPS on?
If the battery is not defective, there must be some program instance that is draining that battery.
Wifi, GPS and that sort of things are off. I'm browsing a little bit, and then just use my apps and games, and of course i write some sms's. and hear music.
Thats the thing i'm doing on my phone.
Btw: When i unplug my phone from the charger, it immidately drops 2-4 %.
Btw: When i unplug my phone from the charger, it immidately drops 2-4 %.
You have a darky rom its a known problem read his pages .
jje
Is the extreme drain also a darky problem?
Read posts on darky section if you have problems likewise read posts on xxx rom section if you have that rom makes sense .

There are 2000 pages of posts man Do you want me to read that?

Haha okay
But i would be pleased if someone have a solution for this problem!
Nothing have worked, but i finally remember how the battery drain started! It was when i decided to calibrate my battery. After i did it, the extreme battery drain started! So it has nothing to do with Darky's rom or something else, i is the battery calibratings problem. Anybody knows how to fix it???

X8 Battery

exuse me for my english
i bayed a new x8 phone before 5 days !
i think my phone is draining battry
so please how much days can you x8 phone can work without charging !
It depends My record was nearly 5 days without charging But I wasn't using it at all Just to check what time is it. Now it's more than 2 days (200+ SMS, phone calls, WiFi).
If You think Your phone is draining battery - turn off gsm data, use only 2g, turn off GPS etc Smartphones are not old phones, like Nokia 3310
+1
right answer
Agree for the above Answer..
Tipont charge too often..charge only when it is <5/10 %
every think is ok , evry think is desactivated ; i can use my phone only for one days , making normal thinks
like checking time or opening some apps ( not games)
please tell me how to solve this problem
my phone is new !!
for exemple my phone is 100/100 charged in 01:00 am
now it is 11:24 am , my phone have only 80/100 in charge ; and i have using it only for a couple minutes ; making one call !
What apps did You install? Download any task killer / task manager / ram manager. It should help.
im using advanced task killer latest version !
GingerDX on Stock Kernel with smartass CPU governor at default min/max CPU speeds (no overclock) and occasional usage - up to three days.
Now the question is ...
- Did you turn off GPS as recommended?
Turn off "Mock Locations" if it's enabled - it's a known bug in Gingerbread that having this setting enabled can cause battery drain.
- Do you turn off Wifi when not needed?
Since most people set the "Wifi sleep policy" to "Never" because of connection issues this can also be the source of your problem.
- Do you turn off 2G/3G when not needed?
Like with WiFi it should only be turned on when you need to access the Internet. Letting either WiFi or 2G/3G "sit there" because you have to be logged into Skype/GTalk/MSN/... does not help battery life.
If you're on the Stock ROM - that beast had a worse battery life for me than any custom ROM.
im sure that all off thinks are turned off
i turn WIFi only for some times then i turn it offf !
i still get the battery drain
!!!
what is the solution !
Turning off *Background data* and not just only *sync* provided a boost to my battery life.
I suggest the above
Actually,I think that you must dimmer the backlight of your phone~~
My battery has lost 10% in one night。
Battery drain is normal for our x8
Sent from my X8 using XDA
overclock your phone. you can set to lower cpu speed when the screen turn off. this help my phone not drain the battery at night.
Highly variable but
- battery capacity
- ROM type
- kernel
- 3G/HSDPA
- WiFi
- Android version
- screen-on time
- apps
- overclocking
to mention a few. Not to mention the inherently variable nature if X8 hardware.
My xperia 8's battery takes for 2 days max. And without wi-fi. This is smart phone, it's normal when battery charges out fast. Becides between the price and quality i think it's the best choice.
that's weird...
if you already turned off data, wifi, GPS, sync, bluetooth and everything else, it should be last longer...
please make sure again you already turned them off and only turn them on only when needed...

[Q] Help with huge battery drain on usage [TRIED EVERYTHING]

Hello guys, sorry for my bad english, but I'm not American. Well, my question is:
I bought from a guy a Galaxy S I900b, Brazilian model with digital TV. Came with stock 2.3. As I had already read enough before, upgraded to JWB Saurom with semaphore kernel, which I think is the default for this rom. Well, the phone had very poor battery life, evn on idle. Then upgraded to 10.2 CM. I saw that had some wakelocks, and with BBS and the help here, I used the Scan Media Root and my problems are gone in iddle. So, my phone goes into deep sleep and today during my sleep, only lost 3% battery, 3% battery drain on idle during about 5-6 hours it very good to me. But during use, it ends up very fast, and with GSAM and standard monitor of the android, I saw that after the screen, the Android system was what had higher %% battery. So what could it be ? The battery life is ok, checked on info, and its condition is 'good'. I use to Greenify, and close almost every game\app, so running is just grenify and ram manager pro.
So the prob just could be a app or the 'android system' ? Or even hardware ?
I dont have much time now, so any info or screenshot you want, I can provide later
Thanks
What about your connections? Do you have 3G/wifi enabled at all times?
calibrate....maybe useless, but u can try....but somehow, try bigger mAh battery, maybe.....n maybe .... it will help.
juz charge it with screen turn on till it full, n waste it to 0% till it shut down, turn it on n charge it with screen on till it full again, u ll be fine
if problem occur again, keep an eye for sneaky app that run at background (email...exchange etc) n juz delete some sys app that u dont use using titanium.
if it still occur again, wait for arc reactor battery....

I've deleted the batterystats.bin and used until 0%, so charged while off, but nothing :C
It's true that the battery needs to 'learn' ? Like, a few charges and discharges and could estabilize ?
I'll take a few screenshots right now
Callibration of you battery eg: Wipe battery stats is onluy helpfull when you get weird battery stats.
If you are on any CyanogenMod ROM you have to get used to the higher ammount of battery use by the phone. The application Greenify can help a lot by hibernating the huge battery suckers like facebook and google maps.
Some tips:
- use 2G instead of 3G
- Turn WIFI off when you're outside the house or leaving for some time
- Turn GPS/Bluetooth on only when you're about to use it
- Dont use taskkillers (they are used to free up ram but killing apps makes android restarts them and this consumes extra juice)
- Put brightness on Auto
- Use a dark theme and background/lockscreenwallpaper
- Dont recharge your phone when below 5% this can damage the battery
- A new battery needs to "Get used to" the life of being a battery xD After a few recharging cycles it will work like normal
Here some screenshots, if need more, just ask
Note: Was with 14%batt, rebooted and drops to 11-10%

I think its my last shot ... I'll provide a new battery next week, but i've heard some people with batt probs that even with new batt the problem persists :crying:

It looks like wifi and 3G have been kept on for most/all of the time. Turning those off while you're not using them may significantly increase battery life.
Also, related to kernels, personally I've found Mackay to be a bit better in terms of battery.
Also it looks like your screen's pretty bright if 61% of the battery usage is because of it. So if you don't need it so bright turning the brightness down may help.
Start by doing those, and see how your battery life fares first- if not much changes, then it may help getting a bettery battery/changing rom even.

So, like i said, in this 2 hours after charge, i've used opera mini with wifi, I dont use 3g. Right now the battery is less than 10%... it's strange since have people telling that can use almost 5 hours wifi and the battery is > 50%
And the brightness is at lowest bright :\
The problem could be some corrupted file ? I have the options:
- format EVERYTHING, and dont use titanium backup, since somthing can be corrupted.
- change my kernel to Mackay
- change my room back to SAUROM 2.3.6 adn semaphore kernel
I'm very sad cuz I have a very old Nokia E5 that can be on with wifi almost or more than 10hours ... and this phone can barely hold 5hour
What u suggest me to do ?

How long have you been using the rom? Roms take time to calibrate the battery and this is through charge/discharge cycles.
Alternatively, go into Performance settings and change the profile to powersave/conservative (it differs from rom to rom). Lock the min CPU frequency to 200mHz- apparently this helps.
Again, this would change depending on your kernel.
And if you have a three year old battery like mine, best not to expect miracles...
