[ROM] I8700XXJK1 Firmware - Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7 Development

Here are some download mirrors I found for the new I8700XXJK1 firmware:
http://www.multiupload.com/OGUYF4F3VA (CSC: XENJK1)
http://www.multiupload.com/7TDCJIN615 (CSC: BSEJK1)
These are apparently unbranded and work with Samsung's Network Profile Tool.
Password is: samfirmware.com
To enter download mode: Press and hold: VOL UP + CAMERA + POWER (Let go of POWER button when device turns on while keeping other 2 buttons pressed)
When you see the 'Samsung Omnia 7' startup screen, count 5 seconds then let go of VOL UP + CAMERA.

My Omia 7 has blocked the "Download Mod. Combining the 'HOLD BUTTON + CAMERA + POWER VOLUME UP (WHEN YOU SEE THE START SCREEN OMNIA7, RELEASE POWER BUTTON AND STILL HOLDING THE OTHERS 2)
AFTER FEW SECONDS, You'll Be in Download Mode "does not work.
Just to clarify, my Omnia 7 from T-Mobile.

Yeah you are right, it just shows a picture prompting you to connect the phone to a pc, what we need is the yellow triangle for download mode. Unfortunately there will be no flashing for us T-Mobile users until a solution is found!

Download mode works fine for Optus AU omnia 7.
This may be a silly question, but what is the difference between this and the stock rom? While I love the proof of concept and massively appreciate the work all the windows devs put in, is there any point in laymen like myself flashing at this point?

This update updates the radio firmware in the phone to make WiFi, GSM, UMTS and Bluetooth connections quicker to connect and more stable. Also makes apps and market place quicker to load and more responsive.

From what I've heard it does. However you will still need to download the Samsung Network Profile Tool from the marketplace.

My phone is an unlocked T-Mobile device. I get the yellow triangle download mode (this may take 10 minutes). Haven't tried doing anything with it.
So what is the rest of the process ?

Yes it is. Bought it on ebay. T-Mobile on the back cover and a splash screen.
I don't know if unlocking the device lets you enter download mode, but it might be worth a try I guess.

Hmmm thats strange, I bought mine off ebay too. Mine was locked but I paid to unlock it. Wont go into download mode though. I wonder why some have download mode disabled and others dont?

Very strange. Have you run a factory reset (after unlocking).
Just a random suggestion, but that is about all I have done except installing apps and adding accounts.

previosly when i was using JJ6, there is an option for me to switch between 2G or 3G but not feature is not available in JK1 T_T

It's preinstalled in the firmware and it has been running automatically for me.
So I didn't need to start it manually.

hi guys
i never flashed a device..
what must i do to flash it..
just use the ROM installer from samfirmware.com ?
for what is the download mode in the device? do i need it when using the flash utility?
I can enter the download mode- do not turn off (german t mobile )
and now???

Mine also wont go into download mode.
t-mobile uk omnia 7 *unlocked*

t-mobile de
my omnia 7 from t-mobile.de unlocked is able to go into download mode, but i haven't flashed yet. i'm considering it, since updates from MS won't be available for carrier branded devices immediately. According to the Joe Belfoire, operators have time to test updates and prepare them for the release until the release of the next update of WP7 by MS. By flashing to this firmware I would have fully unbranded ROM. I guess
I think I will flash when I definitely know, there is update for all the devices excluding my t-mobile.de version. (btw I have no t-mobile logo on the back of the device, just 2sec. logo during boot-up)

Could anyone confirm if indeed these newer roms do improve 3g,wireless performance?

same here, i bought mine on ebay and had tmobile unlock it. mine says "download mode do not turn off" what do i do next?

Big problem about I9000 Warrantly

Today i am going to refresh my rom . After finishing, Galaxy S can not open...
Is Galaxy S or the battery problem?
Have any method to slove this problem?
I bought from Optus in Australia
Now Version is JM5 and he old version is Jm5,if i go to the custom services ,will i cease the warrant?
Thanks everyone to help.
as long as you flashed it with a samsung-made firmware and not a custom ROM, i think your warrantly should still be ok!
If you seek help from the guys here, my guess is that you need to explain a bit more in detail what's not working, besides "cannot open".

"cannot open" mean when i press the turn on/turn off button don't have any respond.
"New version is JM5 and old version is JM5" That is mean Before and after flashing version, the reason of flash again is i can not use Galaxy but i can enter the download mode. i think this information may help you to find mine problems..but i am not sure.

Flash I9000DTJG4 if you got your phone from Optus in Australia.
Find it here.
i cannot switch on the Galaxy S even by any modes.
Simply, i think it is broken down and I dont know what to do. I am not sure if my warrant is still effective or not.
You know, generally flash the rom will cease warrant.I think people l solve my problem there... Because Xda's is professional...
Can someone move this thread :-(
I almost fell of my chair when reading "BIG PROBLEMS WITH I9000".
Big problem with flashing you mean !!
OH.. sorry .......
Admin move to correct section.
Sorry about that
Try charging the battery. and then switch on the phone..
SGS is pretty unbrickable
No problem
I hope you find a solution quick.
1. If the phone is turned off then remove the SD card, the SIM card and the battery.
2. Put the battery in only then enter Download mode. Hold in vol down and Home buttons then press the power button. Works every time.
3. OPTUS is currently using I9000DTJG4 available here
4. Set up ODIN with the correct files. PIT 512 and the code file called ADD_OPS.tar from the download.
5. Select Re-Partition.
6. Connect your phone to your computer via USB cable. Wait for com to come up in ODIN.
7. Flash the Aussie firmware.
Wish you luck my friend.
no no no... i CANNOT OPEN SGS AT ANY MODE..
It seems sgs don't have the battery... i cannot charge the phone ..
ososos, unfortunately it sounds like a full brick to me. I think there have been about 5 occurrences of this (myself being one of them), one guy managed to get his to power on my holding home + volume down + power and inserting the battery whilst these buttons were being held.
However as a general rule if your phone won't even turn on you'll need to send your phone off for repair.
Hmmm try using some friend's battery if he too has SGS... Or try charging only the battery at optus.. GL mate..

[Q] Firmware need for Tablet bought from a trip in Saudi Arabia

Hi all,
I bought the P1000 galaxy tab back from Saudi Arabia when I was visiting there for business. After coming back home I wanted to flash a European firmware on to it.
Unfortunately following this attempt, the tablet just displays a battery charging symbol with no actual progress and does not go into download mode.
As the device was built to be sold in the Middle East, can you advise on what firmware should be used to reflash this device? All firmware I've tried from samsfirmwares.com has not worked and all have failed to boot. The best I could get was the Samsun Galaxy TAb logo during startup and that's it, it hung there. Now it's even worse, just displaying the battery symbol and nothing happens.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Try These instructions with Rotohammer JMIv2 firmware:
IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure
Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file
Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
Check repartition box
Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
After this, the Tab will reboot normally.
Thanks DarkPal, appreciate the quick response. I'll give this a try and update this thread. In the meantime, can you let me know where I can get the rotohammer firmware? I'll definitely search for it but if there is a known good location I'd appreciate it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939360 Here you Go. Hope you boot successfully. Don't use Samfirmware ROMs they have locked bootloaders.
Unfortunately I have the same Galaxy Tab logo and Samsung on the bottom. It just stays there. I've lost trust that this tablet will revive. Do you have any further ideas?
I tried
1. PIT + RePartition + Start + PDA ROM + Start --- Result same
2. PIT + PDA + RePartition + Start --- Result same
Just do one step at a time.
1. Get into download. Connect to pc. See the yellow box in odin. Pit file and check repartition, flash. Disconnect from pc.
2. Reboot into download. Connect to pc. Rom in pda, no check for repartition. Flash. Reboot into normal mode. If ok start, go back and flash your modem.
Captain, thanks for the steps. I've tried exactly word by word what you've sent earlier. Same thing happens.
There is a way to get into download mode, where you do something like squeeze the battery screen while holding power and volume down, but I'm not sure of the exact steps. Also one method involves the usb cable.
Can someone get us those alternate methods to get into download mode?
Is this stuff in the stickies for development?

I have the exact same scenario as this but have yet to change the Rom as I'm not sure what benefit there actually is?
Custom roms aside, will my Tab actually be any better with a Euro rom on it as it can currently do everything I think it's supposed to.
Will I loose or gain anything?

I've already got full phone capability using a UK sim (the unit is unlocked).
Why would this change by swapping the rom?

It won't. But you said you hadn't flashed the euro rom, which normally is done to gain phone capability.
Your phone had already been rom-modified by someone, because phone capability isn't a stock feature for any carrier.

[Q] recover bricked Samsung ATIV Odyssey ? HELP !!!!

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone could help me. On the Samsung ATIV Odyssey I have, when it boots, it will show, Windows Phone, Samsung screen then just shows the spinning gears..this will go on forever. I tried to reset and "tried" to hard reset it but could never get the "!" To show up.
Is there any way possible to recover this phone or am I stuck having to send it out to Samsung?
I have not been able to get anywhere with this phone and can't find recovery software like Nokia has for their phones for Samsung models....
Thanks in advance!!
Can anyone help with this issue ?
I ended up calling Samsung, the phone is out of warranty (of course) but, they say they will do a free one time flash to attempt to recover the phone. The provided free shipping and will flash it and return the phone to me at no charge.
Nice, didn't know they offered that....

OF COURSE FOLLOW THE GUIDE NOT TO BRICK MORE YOU DEVICE.

Thanks, does the Odyssey (SCH-I930) can be flashed with the roms for the ATIV S ? Interesting, If I can get this phone up and running again, I might try to go the ROOT route if I can. That is if it can be recovered.
2 computers would not even detect this phone because of it being a reboot loop. So even if I had a rom or something else for it, the computer would not even see it.
Not my primary phone, so no big rush if I have to wait for a week...

NO IT CAN'T OF COURSE BE FLASHED WITH OTHER PHONES' ROMS BUT IF YOU KEEP READING ALL THE PAGES OF THE THREADS I'VE LINKED YOU YOU'LL LEARN THAT WOLF MADE OTHER CUSTOM CSCs(the smallest, editable part of a WP rom) SPECIFIC FOR YOUR DEVICE AND HOW TO FLASH 'EM
(I wrote with caps lock in order to let you get the importance of the point )
It's normal that every pc doesn't see your phone:something in its os is missing.I would advice you to flash another csc -description in this the customwolf rom thread I've already link to you -(see the specific combination of your model in order to know if your phone turns on in download modus and you can try to flash again it)
EDIT----
Sorry man,I just Thought now to it: You could simplify your life just trying first a Hard reset from buttons combination (I think this is the correct one,but you can search for yourself for the specific combination of buttons of your phone).
Alternate Method
Step 1
Turn off the phone and wait 15 seconds.
Step 2
Press the "Power" button. Press and hold the Volume Down button until an exclamation mark appears on the screen.
Step 3
Press the Volume Up button and then press the Volume Down button. Press the Power button and then press the Volume Down button again. The screen goes black and then the reset process completes.
In this way you should be able to HR your device without turning it on and risking to damage it more with flashing

Thanks again for your help here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The hard reset is not working. I tried this MANY time before posting (after about a day playing with it, at the point of giving up hope). I can try the key commands but, at no point will I EVER see the exclamation mark. No kidding, I must of tried this 40 different ways, with different timing, I can 100% confirm that something is screwy with this phone.
If I do the Power plus volume down (to try to get the exclamation mark), as soon as a let go of the power button and holding the vol down, the phone will go in a reboot loop.
The phone does not get to a point where the PC will detect it, it will start to boot up and it will show on the display Windows Phone, then Samsung logo, then it will just show the spinning gears(like it had a failed update). It does this for ever (I let it go 24 hours before pulling it). I can do the soft reset but, that is it...
It's packed up ready to go but, I'll hold it for a day, do you think I could actually recover this phone with a rom ?

BTW, I have the custom rom for the Odyssey, its definitely got some odd bugs.
Verizon stores can reflash it for you too for free, just need to hit up a Verizon CORPORATE store. Apparently they have the tools and the ROM, instead of waiting for it to be mailed and come back.
Well I used the wolf custom rom and follow the exactly instructions but my phone now say is corrupted, and instead of boat show me a message telling me that!
So, I got another one and now has the same problem, so, somebady knows if there is at day an original rom available?
Still no public Odyssey ROM yet.

[Q] Any ROMs support T-Mobile WiFi Calling on the SM-N910F?

I have a SM-N910F Note 4 device and I have been out of the loop for a long time. In fact, I was scammed getting this device as I was told it was a SM-N910T and.... well... I am stuck with this and need to make the best of it. What is a good radio, rom, kernel, etc that I can use to get t-mobile wifi calling on this device?
Also, I reset the defaults on the phone and I now have all 11111111111s for the IMEI so it won't register on the network. It worked before I reset the defaults. I held the volume button down on boot up and the writing is all in Chinese so I don't know how to modify the IMEI so I can use it.
Any suggestions to either issue are helpful. When I was in the loop, I was a strong follower of AOKP and Cyanogen as they felt full featured but true to the source of the ROM and kept it updated. I don't know if these ROMs support T-Mobile WiFi calling or if there is a better, stable, somewhat frequently updated ROM that I should consider now. A simple ported T-Mobile Rom with 4.4+ or 5.0+ is fine. I don't care as long as it's stable and fairly reputable.
Thanks for any help on saving me from a complete loss on this phone, if it just won't work, I will put it up for sale to hopefully recoup some of my lost money back. I can't believe how stupid I was. The box even says 32GB but it has 16GB inside... these guys are good now adays. A hard lesson learned.
Any thoughts on this? Even if I am screwed because of the Chinese writing on the bootload, I would lice to know. I can't get the OS to see the device nor Odin and I downloaded the Samsung Note4 USB drivers.
If I use the up volume+power I get an open android lying down with a red triangle with an ! mark and the message "No Command" under it.... sigh, am I screwed?
You're probably screwed on the IMEI unless you have a nandroid backup. You should download Kies 3 to see if you can use that to flash it. Best of luck.
Hey, thanks rco, I did find that when I pressed the up vol on boot that I could press the power button at the Android laying down open screen and it would give me a Rom manager. It says something like
Android system manager <3e>
And then all the other things like applying from anumber sd card or abd flash, etc. No option to connect to the computer so I can attempt to install Odin and I can't find Odin zipped up In a rom manager installer.
So I tried to install cm 12.x nightly from t0tletmo and got some scatter failure.
Thanks again and to anyone else that has any thoughts to add.
Why is it so difficult to put T-Mobile's WiFi calling app on non-T-mobile devices? The hardware is the same. Is T-Mobile's software hard-coded in the stock T-Mo firmware?
i'm just curious to know if you can use wifi calling overseas in airplane mode for t-mo customers lol
Yes you can, that's one of the reasons why I purchased the T-Mobile variant.

Edit - I just checked and that actually shows on the stock Note 4 recovery. I thought they had changed it.
You dont even have a N910F, I think you have a chinese knockoff. I believe that when you see the "Android System Manager <3e>" is the stock Android AOSP recovery and not the T-Mobile one.
When you hold the volume down and Power and Home are you presented with a screen with 2 options?

2.connect cable to s20 fe.
(wait for the battery percentage to appear.
3. press volume + and power at the same time (it will turn off after 2 seconds, keep pressing, until the s20 logo appears
4. done.

if your team is business, it will not work.
There are variants that are blocked by companies.
If that's your case, you can't this way.
Several teams have already passed with that detail.

if your team is business, it will not work.
There are variants that are blocked by companies.

There are teams that your work gives you. (companies, corporations, etc.)
They send to ask for the equipment with Samsung, they block the access to recovery and download.
In my repair shop, Samsung equipment arrives with that block.
In your case, you say that it is not business, I don't know what causes your problem.

keep trying
I put the cable into the PC, halfway plug the cable into the phone while it's turned off. then I start holding volume up plus power for recovery and then push the cable all the way into the phone immediately after.
Ok. Thank you both for the help. I'll try this method as well.
Found out why the recovery mode didn't want to turn on. The cable was just for charging :/ Plugged in another one and it worked like a charm. Thanks for all the help guys.
I just joined. I can not see where I start a new thread to ask a question.
Can someone direct me?
BTW - My problem is I installed Fire Toolbox, It ran once and now only open a gray box on the sceen and freezes. Rebooted , uninstalled - reinstalled, tried diff versions...?
