Dungeon Defender - G Tablet Themes and Apps

I justed install Dungeon Defender and all I can say is WOW!
There is NO OTHER game that shows off the power of this unit..
I am telling you this game kicks ass in graphics, performance and usability (for a tablet).
I highly recommend if you want to have a showcase application that shows off the power of the Tegra 2 PLUS a high resolution screen this is it!
I honestly was shocked how smooth the game looked, how high the textures were...
Anyway... wanted to share my impression for anyone looking for a showcase game or someone who was thinking of purchasing it for their G-Tab.

Yup, I was really impressed with that one. I also thought Dungeon Hunter was also excellent and ran very well on my G Tablet.
Minigore also looks great and runs very well.

I wasnt too impressed with Dungeon Hunter...seemed very dark and low textures were used - plus of course the main menu is all cut off...
I will have to try out Minigore...

Your menu is cut off in Dungeon Hunter? Mine shows up fine. Maybe you got an incorrect version for our tablets.
The textures weren't very good, but I thought the gameplay and overall graphics were otherwise pretty good for a mobile game.

Oops, just read that Mini Gore is from DavinciDevelopers, who stole the game Iron Soldiers. Maybe shouldn't recommend this game after all, especially for $3. My buddy sent me a copy of the APK so I hadn't read the user comments on the market for it.

I bought Dungeon Defenders last night for $2.99. Best lunch money I spent in a long time. Runs full screen no problems on my G-tab VegaNtab 5.1. It is really a fun game well worth the money. You pick a character and defend your crystal by setting up all sorts of barricades & booby traps ( data voice "thats what I said booby trap" ) Overall graphics were top notch you can adjust the graphic quality within the options.

I should also point out I bought "Dungeon Defenders: First Wave" Uses Unreal Engine

Ahh well I've paid 60 bucks for utter piles of poo, so 2.99 is still a darn good deal for a good game.

This game looks pretty cool but it seems to be only multilayer. Is there a game like this that lets you play against AI characters? I like playing games at my own pace since I consider myself a very casual gamer.
I've tried Dungeon Hunter on this tablet but it doesn't paint the levels well and the lighting effects are way off.

I don't know about using a Wii controler but I have one of these I've used for other games on my gTab and will likely use it on this game.
The only thing about this joystick is that the suction sometimes releases and you'll have to be careful so that the ball on the joystick doesn't smack your screen (I was worried the first time it did this as I thought it may crack the screen).
I've seen some other joysticks like this that is low profile and cheaper AFTER I bought this one.
Anyway, it is a solution.

resco snake is a pretty good one, along with the teeter game that comes with the phone

Resco bubbles, tiki towers, xtrakt, dragonball, spb brain evolution 2 are amazing well done & "finished" games.
i found meon in the marketplace. its pretty fun.
I like the teeter game which came with the phone
Marble Worlds 2 is also need accelerometer to play it. Pls try.
pdaMill Gamebox Classics and Gamebox Solitaire are two I couldn't live without.
Handmark Yahtzee is another I've installed for years now.
Resco SuDoku is one I enjoy every night before going to sleep.
Slider and Meon from the Marketplace are both pretty good.

"Quality" is an entirely subjective word. Could mean anything. Could mean, "highest resolution images," or, "fastest animation." It could mean something I'm not even thinking about, to you.
The games mentioned here are all fun. None of them are "best quality." There's no definitive way to say one of them is, in my opinion...
For touchscreen games, I love ICBM (Missile Command via touchscreen). Also a big fan of Pocket Uno (huge time-waster).
There are some fun g-sensor toys, like the Lightsaber, the Magic 8 Ball, and the GClippers (my personal favorite prank of the moment). There's a Galaga-like game called GInvaders which is merely okay (again, my opinion only). YMMV.
FYI, here's a great collection of games in a gigantic single cab file. (19MB FTW)
Check HERE and HERE and you will find some really good ones. You can google and find a lot of free ones.
Are those games free? I didnt know there were more games for the phone other than the snes and sega roms. Im trying to find more proper games that are free. In aus you cant get these games since none of the networks have games that are compatiable for this phone.

All of the games I mentioned are free. None of them requires a network connection to play, and if you can't get to sites that offer these games as downloads, I'm surprised that you can get here, as well. Not sure what else you could be talking about, when you say "networks."

Best game period. Great graphics, amazing 3d engine with no lag almost PSP quality 3d, very very responsive gsensor controls, more than just 1 or 2 levels.
I really enjoyed cops and robbers too but it was just too short, I was so disappointed when I realized after finding all the diamonds there wasn't another quest/level set.
But those two for games that a console person would like.
Other than that ya Resco bubbles, and Resco Brain Games are also on my Fuze.
But man get NFS Undercover, amazing. I had my iphone fanboy friends mouth watering playing that. Though I believe they have similar games the resolution on the fuze really makes it look amazing.

Another good reason to have NS

One thing I really liked about Windows Phone 7 games, it requires a free demo version in order to be an "Xbox Live" title. Android should have the same requirements if it wants to compete with WP7's gaming prowess, which imo, is the best mobile gaming you can get.

I have been playing it for a while and I have to say it is one of the best games on android.
very good game and well worth $3. Playing on NS and the only problem I have is some of the screens seem to not fit properly. Almost like the resolution of the screen isn't high enough to support all the menus in their native size.
Dual core processors are going to be more for efficiency than power. Better battery management and faster processing will in theory reduce battery consumption. None the less, you can count on me buying one

none other than that fact that it refuses to start on single core computers (probably got good money from intel and amd)
and dont even start with that "who has single core anyway ?"
same game engine as mw2 and mw2 ran on max detail on a 2000mhz amd , also both games look like puke in todays standards
they shall burn in hell for this
Zombie mod is still pretty buggy because it uses the crappy match making system from MW2 but the muliplayer seems to use cod4's server browser. Overall there are some bugs in it. I paid full price and wish i hadn't it's not worth it. it's not even worth paying the standard PC game price of £30. Wait till it hits half price before you buy it by then all the problems with performance, crashing, poor match making etc should be fixed.
P.S i have owned all of the COD games at one point or another. I'm a massive gamer and have been since my teens. It's just a shame activision like money, stock prices and screwing people becuase if they had left IW to do their thing MW2 and BO would have been way more enjoyable.
p.p.s on second thought you'd be better off getting MOH and then waiting for crysis 2
Oooooooooooh man I love the Crysis series, although I expected more out of Warhead. Have you played any of the Splinter Cells? I haven't played the recent one.

wrong wrONG WRONG.
MW2 and BO are two diff studios producing the games, therefor CANNOT be based off of the same engine (Treyarch VS IW). If you are trying to game on a single core computer, GTFO the gaming community and go back under that rock you have been hiding under for the last 5 years. Both games look great pent up against todays current standards for online FPS games. MAX detail && MAX AA/AF @ 1920x1080 and the game looks great.
befor you go flaming a game because you cant afford a computer good enough to play it.. might wanna do some research, or actually play the game. KTHXBAI

There are still alot of bugs in the game. One of the few ive noticed is random client crashes/freezes... This happens on both my system and my roommates system. Both of our computers are mid/high end gaming machines and are pretty closely spec'd with a few brand differences. Another is some server side issues with random crashes/server reboots. Ive owned a BO server for almost 2 months now and its a knows issue that Treyarch/Gameservers.com are trying to work out(this happens on both gameservers.com servers and official treyarch servers).
Another bug. Say you purchase the Aug + 4 attachments. $2000(for aug) $7000(for attachments). When you prestige, the game will charge you $9000 for the aug and make you purchase the attachments all over again. IDK if this is a wide spread problem, but thats how it is for me... of course i dont mine, i play alot of wager matches or clan matches and have over $100k credits.

Infinity Ward didnt make BO because they were promised alot as a studio for MW2 but Activision didnt follow through with the promises. IW refused to make BO. Rumor has it that they are working on a title all on their own thats supposed to give the CoD series a run for its money.
Hope this information helps.

Well my information is pretty much that except for a couple of differences. My understanding is that the 2 founders of infinity ward now have a new studio that works with EA and that half of the original IW staff quit or were fired when activision fired West and Zampella. IW didn't refuse to work with treyarch, they can't because IW is owned by activision and has been for a while. The refusal came from the founders who still own the rights to the COD brand and a few of the underlying technologies. Unfortunately this doesn't include the engines. BO does use the MW2 engine for the single player. Infact the MW2 engine is almost identical to the engine used in COD4 with the only major difference being in the multiplayer anti cheat change to VAC and the matchmaking.
In BO's multiplayer this is evident if you compare the server browser to the the one included in COD4. It has pretty much the same look and feel and the big give away is the bug that prevents you clicking on a listed entry until about 10 seconds after a refresh start. That bug is present in COD4.
Games from different developers can use the same engine. For example, the MOH single player uses the Unreal engine iirc (the multiplayer was made by Dice and so frostbite and that's also why the multiplayer looks a lot better than the campaign) and i've lost count of the amount of games that used the various quake engines. It's all a matter of licencing

This is true for the most part. BO is using a deviation of the engine used in WaW. its pretty obvious in gameplay. if you look at the code for the COD4 and MW2 engine, they are basically the same thing(with a few tweaks in gameplay and physics), but the engine running WaW and BO are pretty different(but similar to eachother in code style).

The engine in WaW is as little as makes no difference identical to the COD4 engine. There has been very little evolution on it. Please bear in mind that between cod2 and cod4 (cod3 was another treyarch game and didn't feature on the PC) there was something like a 4 year gap. That gap was because IW were building the COD4 engine from the ground up. The only reason we have had a cod game every year since is that Activision (who own both treyarch and IW) are more focused on making money and not innovation. Hence no really engine improvements.
Hell, i just read an article that suggests that the real reason west and zampella were fired wasn't over bonus' but over the proposal from activision to charge a monthly subscription for the MP. It also says that Activision have brought in a third studio to help develop future releases. This only means one thing. More releases per year = more money.
Personally, after playing all (except cod3 coz I'm a PC gamer) of the cod games and then seeing the lacklustre attempt that is black ops I'm done with cod. It's been turned from a ground breaking and enthralling first person shooter into a way of conning uneducated teenagers out of their parents money.
It's too bad.. I really enjoyed WaW and COD MW2
Now I'm getting Black Ops and your all saying it's junk. At least I got it used for $35.00 bones.
And I've moved to console as it seems a lil' bit slower paced then the PC Based version.

lol, its not ALL junk, imho i like the subtle improvements over MW2... RCXD is fun, and the wager matches are EPIC. SAS and SHP are my fav wager types. console is a bit slower paced but thats because its been dumbed down for controller use rather than a mouse and keyboard. imho its just not the same on console.

yea sure , a 1.6ghz hyperthreaded atom is much faster than a 3.4ghz single isnt it , too bad cod will load up on the atom and not the other one that could play it ... but why am i wasting my words ...
Children, children, children! can we please stop the bickering and trolling and get back on topic?
The reason there is a core number restriction isn't because they are trying to rip you off its because the game engine needs the processing power. The MW engine doesn't rely entirely on the graphics card to run the math calculations required to draw the physics objects. If it did everyone would need sli or crossfire setups with 3 or 4 cards. So the restriction is actually doing us a favour because dual core cpu's are cheaper than 4 gtx580's hell a dual core cpu is cheaper than just one gtx580.
End of the day writing code to stop you playing a game when your pc doesn't meet the minimum specs is a good thing. It's telling you to actually spend some money and get a new pc coz the one you have is about to become a grandad

as i said earlier, a few random client freezes, a few random server crashes, and a bug with prestiege and purchasing weapons after... but then again, what game has been perfect on launch? treyarch is working on it, and quite diligently i might add, so i give them props there.

It does run a bit fast on some games, but I am very pleased with this considering I bought all the *oid emulation apps for me and the kids, well mainly me. The on screen controller took a bit getting used to but wasn't so bad after a while. Yep wii remote will work.
any idea if a xbox wired controller works???

I doubt that would work. But the wiimote works. Too bad two player games can't be played on one screen, at least not that I know of.
I can't find it. . . I search n64oid and it doesn't come up. . .
Super Mario 64 ,Mario mart, and pokemon stadium 2 no issues.
Starfox sound goes away during gameplay but the game plays great besides that.
Pokemon stadium intro plays but that's it. Excite bike 64 is a no go. That's all I tested.
Not bad for an early release.
Hell yes! Was actually trolling online recently for an n64. Mine got stollen my Meth heads a few years back and I miss it and my perfect collection of classics. If I can play Tetrisphere and conkers bad fur day with the wii mote I will be in heaven, and be able to keep a little more cash in my pocket. Those systems can be expensive now. Apparently all the stoners up here in the Northwest have a death grip on their n64s and wont give them up for cheap.

I still have my n64 somewhere in a box. I never did get rid of it and I wouldn't either. Maybe those stoners aren't that stoned after all.
I have been using an N64 emu on PC & laptop for quite a few years now and have at least "a few" roms. Result is I have roms that are verified to work.
Seems not many games work well with this emu yet, but some that do:
Super Mario
Bust a Move 99 / 3DX, 2
Diddy Kong Racing
Mario Kart
That is about it so far that I tested. All others tried either play slower, strobe off and on or backgrounds go black. If you like the games above, the app is good right now.
I have tried several dozen roms so far and the ones above are the best.
BTW, The games play half the speed on Incredible, so even slower.
This seems a beta release and $7 is a bit steep.
Update:
Sadly, the dev is following the same trend as with his PSX emu and each update makes the app WORSE.
Some games that worked do not now and games are a lot slower with the update from today. A lot now crash before even playing. BAD update.
I only wish there was a free version so I could test it out.
Anyone knows if it would run well overclocked at 768 MHz?

Yikes. This is exactly why I'm not so sure about paying $7 on something that might not even run on my Ally. And the 15 minute refund window probably isn't enough time to judge, either.
Works pretty good for me so far, tried Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina, and Goldeneye, all worked at normal speed with good sound. Donkey Kong 64 starts but controls won't work, assuming a bad ROM.
As I type, my Son is playing Mario 64 with the latest update. No issues whats so ever. Thanks for the heads up guys!!!!
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! (well this and full version of firefox) It seems to run great on my gtab, super mario 64 is so fast its funny, on the other hand Golden eye 007 runs at just about the right speed.
Just checked the description. G-sensor as analog. I might try this.

Mario 64 runs fine on my gtab but I can't get golden eye to run lol. Wanna trade??? Jk
The newest version of the app is slower, compared to the previous version, so not sure what version you folks are using. Same trend as with his PSX efforts.
Trust me, in the previous versions performed much better. it seems he got rid of the auto frame-skip and the current frames skip method does a bad job.
You really notice it on the Snapdragon (Incredible). Slower version.
Update:
I see what he has done now with the newest update. He has adjusted compatibility to be better for some games, but the net impact is slower performance. Hope he finds a balance

Galaxy on Fire 2 out now

Check it out

After the first 100 it speeds up. Sitting this out on my slow dsl..
I downloaded the game, started to download 530 mb and finished, when it was about to start it hanged.
WTF?
i started playing. u can play 1 hr free, then it asks for a full version. costing 12€
This game seems to be all I hoped it would be, except that the framerate is kinda low on high settings it seems. This is one of the best games on any mobile device right now in my opinion!

x2. Controls are perfect and simple. Vendetta devs should use the same type of controls.

Not free at all. Requires a 14.99 purchase after 20 minutes.

I've been waiting for this for a while. Unfortunately, I beat it in about five hours. However, that's if you only follow the main story line. It has tons of replay value. It's totally worth the 15 dollars.

This game is totally worth it!!!
After it managed to install and download 530mb successfully, this game was really well made. and the 15 dollars are worth the payment.
Has anyone tried playing this with a PS3 controller attached?
I'd much like to know if it works.

This sounded interesting so I tried it. but the game doesn't respond to any button presses from the ps3 controller.

That's sad... We should all make a request at the developer.
Can you play with the keyboard dock instead of the touch screen?
Finished the story line in less than 2 days
after story finished in every mission messages are repeated every 5 seconds and upon completing a mission one ends up in kind of a "message loop" (messages pop up over and over again and no way out)...
this looks great. Can the demo be replayed or is it a one time play through?

The demo can be replayed.
So you are saying there is essentially zero replay value??
I thoroughly enjoyed the game. While it was quite short (~6 hours for me), there are loads of side missions, which I am now accessing thanks to the automatic resume point prior to finishing the game.
The graphics are pretty nice, but it unfortunately plays too slowly on Medium or High settings in certain areas. Other areas, even High is fine... I prefer consistently high frame rate, though, so I just do Low everywhere. When Tegra 3 comes out, putting this game at High will be a dream. The fog makes High look absolutely gorgeous.
All in all, I like it. While $15 is a healthy chunk of change for a cell phone / tablet game, this truly reeks of console quality because of its depth.
I love this game, completely worth the $15
playing the game on high with a OC at 1.4ghz and running very smooth
Must say the game play and animation is somewhat arcade like and has a 2nd generation feel, so nothing to rave about imo, price tag pretty steep as well. Graphics looks pretty good but no way near pc quality, all in all not bad for a tablet game.
