a) Google "zune download"
b) download
c) install then plug in phone.
Are those few steps good enough?
Enjoy!

I can't log in the zune with my hotmail.com mail. I get the message the server certificate is revoked.
In the zune page I found that I must have at least a win XP with SP3 to make it.
If i can;t log intro zune i can't conect to my phone using sync. Isn't there other solution?

the answer is - maybe. the options are very limited. what are you trying to do when you have the phone connected?
This should be moved to Q&A section.

I think you should at least spend 1 minute reading & searching before posting and asking for things have been told thousands of times.

Windiws Vista and Rom

I was trying to change my rom in Vista RC2 yesterday and could not get past the bootloader screen. it was late and I didnt get to mess around with it nemore.
has anybody had any success in this?
To the best of my knowledge, you need Active sync version 4.1 to make progress with ROM upgrade.
Are you able to sync using the new Windows Mobile Device Center? That is, can you do more than sync music like in RC1? If not you still might need to do the WHOS hack to get the device download.

You still need the hack.
I got it to work once by putting the device into bootloader mode first. But that was with RC1-5728. Did you give that a try?
Yes I did try and got frustrated. Read the wiki and found the info I posted above. For those interested, MS just released WMDC beta 3 today (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Microsoft_Windows_Mobile_Device_Center_x86/1160408330/1)
Please point to the "wiki". Is it on this forum or elsewhere. Thanks for the link to b3 of WMDC.
Sorry dude, this was some time ago. I read it up either in WIKI or on the forum. And I have always used Activesync 4.1. Tried others and WMDC without luck.

RNDIS BLUE ANGEL driver?

bit of a problem here... my pc crashed and i'm forced to use a new one... after connecting my BA using the cradle, my pc recognized the new hardware but was not able to install the driver for RNDIS BA... tried using the companion cd but the driver is not included there... already googled for it on windows.com and any other site i can think of but still cant locate it. d/led from ms.com the RNDIS USB kit 2005 but have no idea how to use it, the driver is not also in there. btw, the pc i'm using is not yet on SP2 so AS 3.2 is installed here.
so i used a laptop, upgraded to [email protected] and was able to install AS 4.2. connected my BA there and still cannot install the RNDIS for BA on laptop also... how come? do i have to downgrade first to 2003 so that it can be installed then upgrade back to wm5? hope someone can help me, or at least point me in the correct direction. thanks
The RNDIS driver actually is in the BA itself. Connect ur device with PC. Wait 4 a pop-up from bottom right " Your new hardware installed and ready to use". Then it will connect to ur active sync... You Hav to wait for few sec(depends on your pc performance) for it to install the driver.
If it won't work try uninstall the old driver then reconect

actually the pop up window will say there is a problem with your hardware and it is not installed and your new hardware will not work properly... not sure why, i didn't change anything in my BA...
I guess you installed ActiveSync 4.x.
Try this: open the devicemanager and selected the device not installed. right click and select update driver, now guide windows to look in C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\drivers and it should detect the driver.

thanks meehaa, i downloaded that file but when i try to redirect the wizard to where the .sys file is, it won't recognize the file...
also tried to direct the wizard on all folders inside c:\windows hoping to get lucky but still no dice...
is it the device itself that has the problem? i can easily downgrade to 2003se and upgrade but since i'm not sure it will work, i'll just screw myself
I had the same problem
after rcoganizing it doesnt istall the driver
so install RNDIS
and after that you need to install this one too
try it

upgrade rom htc hd with WM7 64bit

upgrade rom htc hd with Windows 7 64bit creates a problem? can do it without active sync?
edit: does not make me change the title
just copy the .nbh file in your sdcard root and rename it BLACIMG.nbh, turn off the phone and keep pressed vol down + power button, job done, happy flashing.
btw i'm using windows 7 64bit and works fine, you can flash without worries.
What you can try, is to place the HD in tricolor mode, when the device is off, push on the low sound button and keep it press while pushing the power button until you see the tri-color mode.
After that, connect your HD trought USB to your PC. Wait until the PC have load the drivers.
And Run the rom upgrade program "as an administrator".
Normally, it should work.
ALF it works also the old way, just run the RuuWrapper that comes with the rom and it will ask for administrator privileges, press next and update the rom. This method needs active sync.
W7 64 bit and touch HD
I have all my computers with windows 7 64 bit. I have no problem sync the HD, or flash. I have not seen anyone comment about it, so here you go- from trying it, no problems at all. Actully, it works better than it was with XP.

Please optimize the head of this Thread from "with WM7 x64" to "via Win7 x64". I was really confused cause I wondered if I could find an early WM7 (Windows Mobile 7) in an 64 bit edition in here. Maybe you could change the title to not confuse any more people? WM7 -> Win7!
Thanks,
Future
you know the USPL 2.5 works with Windows Vista?
can someone give a full "step-by-step" to perform the ROM upgrade successfully?
Hi, I referred to this web page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3625567&postcount=272
It does not sound as easy as this topic. I tried to upgrade the driver, wceusbsh.sys, Windows does not allow it (said does not match the manufacturer), and the steps given do not work at all. What other software is needed? Please provide link to get them.
I am trying to upgrade from WM6.1 to TOUCH_HD_WWE_21882_231109 (Duly maryone). Thanks for helping. I am using Windows 7 64-bits.
There aren't problems with Windows 7 64-bit and rom flashes. Also, your thread has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 so please correct the erroneous subject.

are you sure you understand the issue?
Win7 driver for HTC USB is NOT compatible with those RUU Loader.
And you need to restore the XP one which DOES NOT have digital signature.
Win7 users need to press F8 before booting windows and choose disable signature check (something like that) option. And you will be able to install the unsigned driver for flashing.
So, please correct your erroneous statement.

Some some strange reason if I try and hard spl / flash via usb method Windowds Mobile Device centre drops out half way through the process (when phone goes into boot screen) and the install fails because the phone is no longer sync'd with the PC....
I have never had this issue before....which is why it is puzzling me..
I get an error message on the PC saying: "Error [206]: Connection"
PC is running Win 7, 64bit if that makes any difference...

Windows 7 x64 is the problem, you need hacked drivers.
update the drivers of your phone with the ones attached here.
You don't have to do HardSPL every time, only one time is enough.

Thanks for the reply.
I have unzipped the folder, but am unsure what I have to do with the files....
Sorry for being such a n00b....
I have a Windows 7 x64 PC and got no problem flashing different ROM's on this thread. As what the others have said, you only need to HardSPL your phone once and then you can flash any ROM you want. You don't need any drivers as I have not installed any on my PC. Maybe your phone's battery is below50% during the time of flashing? If that's a no go for you, why don't you try flashing using the SD Card method?

zune on windows vista

I got my hd7 and got a new laptop it has windows vista home premium and 32-bit operating system and i can't get zune to download onto my computer so i can sync my phone. Has anybody else had this problem or know the step to get zune to work on vista or does anybody know a way around it to sync my phone.
Can you explain a bit more please? what exactly happens when you try to download it? what sort of problem youre facing?
You can get the Zune from this link. The installation is easy, and it should be working fine on Windows Vista

I don't really understand what the bit means but i just wanted to include as much info as i could about my system.
I downloaded that link and it downloaded but then i got an error message that said " Can't find the media for installation package. Vista SP1 MBR Update. It might be incomplete or corrupt."
