Mms issues - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Themes and Apps

I have tried the htc connection setup. Whereas in can easily setup my internet connection, it either has wrong settings/missing settings for mms which wont work.
Can anyone guide how to setup mms NOW that htc connection setup is also not helping.?

Tilt Proxy issue

I am having some issues with setting my proxy settings on my Tilt. The HTTP proxy is wiped out once they are set.
Here is what I am doing to create the problem
I go to Start ->Settings ->Connection Tab ->Connections ->Advance Tab ->Select Networks and change both settings in this menu to use "My Work Network" for both settings, and then set the proxy settings for "My Work Network" to use my corporate proxy, everything works fine until I enable a WLAN connection. After I enable the connection the proxy information disappears.
I guess I don't understand why the proxy settings disappear once a live WLAN connections is set.
Does anybody know how I can fix this.
I have tried running the no proxy cab which didn't help.
Thanks for any help
I am so frustrated I want to take this thing back to the store if I can't use it on my corporate network.
it probably does this since the proxy gets sent to you once you connect to a network, and the WiFi connection you are connecting to tells the Kaiser it needs no proxy... your corporate network should sent the proxy automatically, mine does (the wired one, not WiFi)
I called HTC support and they said this was a Mobile 6 bug. They said that they are going to work with MS to create a fix for this issue.
My thoughts are on this, is this going to affect a massive amount of user who have to connect through proxy on their corporate network.
This sucks cause I'm to cheap to pay for the data plan.
Holding my breath for a QFE from Microsoft. I sure not to soon though.
That isn't a WM6 bug. I have an ASUS device, which makes no problems with the proxy settings. It is probably a WM bug combined with the HTC specials.

Tilt not sync'ing on 3G at all

First I don't post much usually because I can find the answer by searching, however I have not seen this one.
My kaiser will not sync to OWA when on the ATT network at all. It will sync fine from any wifi spot (be it at work or home), but it will not sync at all if I am on edge or 3g. I am using the HTC shipped rom on the ATT tilt.
If it were a active sync settings problem then why would it work over wifi, I though the mechinism was the same either way. I don't think it is a internet settings problem either since I can browse just fine.
Couple of closing thougths.
1. I have hard reset (twice) with no luck.
2. I have set up several other WM5 and WM6 on our network with no problem, all using the same corporate ATT account..
3. I have tried it with Direct Push on and off.
4. Please don't post "mine works fine" without any advice, it just clogs up the thread for no reason.
Here are my connection settings.
Internet
Access Point: wap.cingular
User: [email protected]
Pass: Whaterver HTC put in
Domain: blank
Thanks for the help, I am really baffled here.
Is your proxy server enabled? If you have the default Tilt ROM there should be two icons in the Programs | Tools | Proxy Manager folder to enable/disable the proxy. I find that having it enabled messes with OWA and the like. The only time I enable it is when I want to go to http://home for AT&T specific stuff.
.:Christian:.
I don't have a proxy set that I can tell (I am using the HTC rom not the ATT so I don't see a Tools folder under Programs). Couple other odd things. When connecting to the data for the first time, it says connecting to MediaNet. I don't have a connection setup called MediaNet the one I setup is called My ISP.
When it syn'cs it finds that there are changes (say 0/2 emails), then it gets them (2/2), it then immediately stops and never processes them. It returns a code 0x80830003 which says something is not setup right on exchange, but it is setup fine as there are 10 other WM phones that work fine.
Ok thanks for pointing me in the right direction, it was the proxy settings, but it was on the MediaNet connection. I somehow had 2 connections setup. I could not delete the MyISP one (that is the one the HTC wizard setup) so . I deleted the MediaNet connection, and renamed the My ISP one to MediaNet , then disabled proxy on the it. All is well. Thanks again!!!
Excellent!

Getting kicked off BlackBerry Connect

Ok, so i searched the threads and haven't been able to find a solid answer for this. I installed BlackBerry Connect and it's running great, except for the fact that every time i try to use a program that utilizes data (web browsers, chat programs, etc.), I get booted off the BlackBerry EDGE data and it starts connecting to T-Mobile GPRS, hence killing my BB mail connection. Anyone have this same issue? How have you resolved it? Thanks in advance for the
help!!
- As you can tell, i'm using t-mobile with the bb add on plan....
Ok, so i'm trying to still figure this problem out, hopefully im on the right track. Looking thru the BBConnect settings i noticed that the BB Connect software is set up to run thru a different APN and username and password than normal BB devices. Normally, you would have a carrier specific log-in as the APN, username and password. On BB Connect, it's locked in to:
APN: blackberry.net
username: rim
password: password
You can see this by selecting the BB icon-> options-> details...
If you're familiar with using a BB device on TMO, you already know your settings would have been:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
username : (your phone number)
password: (your account password)
Does anyone know how to change this? I'm sure that if this can be changed, then we can use the BB data instead of switiching to the GPRS data everytime we open a data app. Any feedback? I havent seen a solution to this as of yet
well my kaiser is set to have both conections Blackberry and WAP.CINGULARGPRS on all the time and thats the only way they will bothi work at the same time. use kaiser tweak to set them both always on.

There is no way to change this. BBConnect will reconnect after the other app using the other APN let's go. Although, on rare occasions, it doesn't reconnect and you have to Suspend and un-Suspend BBConnect manually to get it back again.

this is incorrect like I just said above! first set up your kaiser to use your t-mobile network :reboot: then go to the connection settings and advanced>select networks>make sure both of these are set to your t-mobile.
then install BB-connect
reboot let it do its thing and set everything up.
then use kaiser tweak to set both connections to always on and reboot
no click the data icon on the top of the screen and make sure both networks are connected. the kaiser has the nuts to use to different networks at the same time even 3 if youhave wifi on. this might be an issue of t-mobile only being a edge network at this point but I can assure you it works just fine on 3G with at-t
OK, so i tried setting it up using both the T-Mobile data and bberry data at the same time. I used Kaiser Tweak, but it still won't let me have both the T-mobile data and bberry data connected at the same time. I did notice that i was able to get wifi and bberry data at the same time though. I wonder what's wrong with this
Is there perhaps a way to tweak this in the registry? I tried using kaiser tweak to keep both the bberry and tmobile data going at the same time but regardless, it kicks one or the other off
Perhaps this could be something included in the next version of KaiserTweak?
@Austinsync....
On a lot of the Stock ROM's the operator (AT&T/T-Mob) restrict this function of having multiple data/server connections.
@ usmcnyc
Thanks for your service! Now a bit of advice. Switch ROM's, after installing Hardspl of course. Many of the "Cooked roms" will allow this feature to be used. It costs the provider more to have multiple data lines going so they limit it to one. I recomend using Sleuth V3.0. I can surf the web, while using internet sharing, & still get my Blackberry Messages! If I'm in 3G or H territory, add using the phone to that list.

Setting for Tilt Data Plan: KaiserTweak

I just got the data plan and have yet to be able to connect to it? I've tried messing with the KaiserTweak settings. I have data connections enabled. I also enabled leave connection always on but that gave me the connection is not active icon. When I disable that function all I get at the top of the screen is an "H". What do the settings need to be in order to get the data connection properly functioning? I've yet to see the connection is active icon up top.
Update
I am able to update the weather on the HTC home page I'm using by enabling the data connection on all the time but the browsers still do not connect. I also don't see the active data connection icon.
did you uncheck proxy ? if not , do so
Proxy is already unchecked.
You do have a data connection the H means = HSDPA
(Like a 3G connection but faster)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSDPA
Also try refreshing your settings (This works for me... and it's annoying!)
Start>Settings>Connections>Connections>Manage my existing connections.
Then "Next" thru all the settings until you get to the end. Press Finish. The data connection drops and the re-establishes.
See if your browser then works.
When I follow that path under connections I don't see a manage my connections option. All I see is "My work network" with 3 options under that. Add Modem, add vpn server and set up proxy.
Try this
Try these files. I use them whenever I flash a new rom and haven't had any trouble connecting since then.
One has all the medianet/isp settings and the other is for mms. I know you didn't say you have a problem with mms, but just in case
Just run and reset and everything should work.
Thanks, I'll have to try those when I get home. The browsers do connect to Wifi with no issues. Could there be a conflict with that? When there is wifi connection available which connection will it grab onto? Wifi of MediaNet? Those files won't affect the current wifi settings used to connect will it?

I've never had them interfere with WiFi since I use WiFi at home and MediaNet at work.
The settings cab is a pretty simple cab, it really just fills out all the information in the boxes to set up the connections but it saves a lot of time and gets everything right, for me at least, in one shot.
Let me know how it goes.
I tried those cabs and I still can't get any of the browsers to work. Nor my email. I keep getting a connect connect message. Anyone know the proper settings to get the browsers to work? However the weather is able to update on my HTC home page.
i dont nknow if youve tried this but everytime i flash a new rom i have to do this or ill have the same problem.. in your connections settings go through the meus until you find this device connects to: and by default it should say the internet.. but you have to select media net (att right?) cus thats the only way apparently media net is not the same as the internet!
ex: go to setings > connections > connections (icon) > advanced > select networks > "programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using: and itll probably be set to my isp and you ewant it on MEdia net

Disable internet access while roaming? (but keeping GPRS/Wi-Fi/etc)

I've got a UK T-Mobile Vario III and will be in the states for two weeks soon.
I want to disable over-the-air internet access to avoid roaming data charges if any applications decide they want to go online (e.g. the weather plugin). I want to keep GPRS operating for send/receive of picture messages.
I'll have the laptop with me (with internet access) so I'd like the phone to still access free internet data when I've got the USB sync cable connected (or via Wi-Fi when I'm in a wireless hotspot).
Could someone remind me how to disable over-the-air internet while keeping the other stuff?

NoData
Try this: http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility/
Works great for me.
Thanks for the tip, that worked great to turn data connections off, but it also disabled MMS (picture message sending) which is cheap on roaming and I will want to use quite a bit. It was just internet roaming data that I wanted to prevent.
Any other ideas?
Andre
Try NoData from Modaco. You can chose between mms or internet disabling.

That's the one I tried (same filename anyway) but it only offers one item to enable/disable via the 'Toggle' option, thus:
T-Mobile Internet - ENABLED

Disabling that connection shouldn't disable your MMS connection, they're completely separate. I installed my T-Mobile settings via a cab on these forums (since I'm not using the stock ROM) and the two connections appear seperately in NoData.

On my stock ROM, it looks like the MMS sending is done via the T-Mobile Internet connection.
In Messaging > MMS Options... the server it uses is "T-Mobile PictureMessage".
When I click on that to check the settings, it uses the following:
Gateway: 149.254.201.135
Port: 8080
Server address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/
Connect via: T-Mobile Internet
Any further thoughts? I don't want to mess too much as we go away in a couple of days and don't want to break the phone...
Andre
Just spoke to T-Mobile. They say it's absolutely impossible to do with this type of phone - either you have internet on (which gives you MMS too) or you turn the whole GPRS connection off (thus losing internet and MMS messaging at the same time).
I expect they're wrong, but I'm now at a dead end.
Andre
I didnt see it mentioned, but if you happen to know all the carrier information for the internet account, you could always go to "manage connections" and delete all of the data connections there. You can put it back in in the matter of a minute or so later when you need it but it would without a doubt keep you from getting any usage charges.
I have t-mobile with stock 6.1 (dutch) and for me its certainly possible to enable internet and/or mms seperately.
You could also try kaisertweak if you havent already. It has options for enabling/disabling certain connection types.
My problem is that the UK stock ROM seems to route MMS traffic via the Internet connection, so if I disable internet it blocks MMS too. I don't have any separate settings for T-Mobile MMS that don't use the internet connection.

thats weird, when i installed nodata and ran it it said: An unexpected error has occured in NoData.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
ive already did a restart a few times, it might be because i have my kaisertweak as well. but im not exactly sure

I experienced this when I flashed a custom ROM and for a while it did my head in. I realised that it was because I didn't have any defined connection settings - once I installed the T-Mobile settings cab it opened and ran as expected.
Are your GPRS/MMS settings configured?
