excellent news here, one step closer to a completely working rom.
Thank you very much for this FM radio

Great!!!
Thanks to you all, awesome news i have heard today...

I thought this was a waste of time but as TuneIn Radio drops on 3G a lot it will actually be very useful!

WTF! Really! If you did! You are a god! And dont Forget Mike!
Waiting for this!!

Fyodor 2 good news from this post.
1.- We can now enable Radio
2.- You are raelly woring full with us, so now Arco and I we have more support.
I know this is not your patch, but thanks for noticing that this is valid for aour devices, without you I will never noticed about this.
So Thanks

Man.. You Rock.. this is something I always wanted.. Kudos to you.. Can I get it ?.. I can be a beta tester so to say .
Thanks

Thanks! It works on CM7 RC0 7002

Work on nFinity0.81GB , its amazing !!!

This works on all ROMs for Tatto, Now the problem is that this do not create /dev/radio0 that is how the FM app works. We need to manage to make it run with the muiu FM app

I don't think we should port the miui FM app for Tattoo 'cause the kernel is very different from the one miui supports. Any one familiar with java could write a simple apk for us. One of the most important thing is to understand the hcitool commands used by mike. That will help to develop a new FM app.
Btw, do you have any docs about those TI compatible hcitool commands?

You are right about kernel. I think we can try to work in 2 steps:
- Fast app. As you say create an app tu run this commands ( I will look also for the description of those commands ) Anyone that can help us to find them will be wellcomed.
- Create a fake driver at /sed/radio0 to run this commands ( that will be more difficult of course, but will make our device more compatible for future apps )
What do you think?

I like the comman line interface, it's so nerd-friendly

:S How i say it in English ....
can i say this script that it start FM tool when its activate !?
start Script --> Script activate Radio Driver and Fake driver to work * --> FM Tool start and work with driver
* driver can work with one tool only so script activate 2 drivers and work with fake driver
i hope you understand what i mean
my english is not so good XD

Yes, I totally agree with your first point. And It's better to be compatible with other devices. However, more codes will lead to more maintainance. I prefer to invite somebody to write a specified simple but handy app for us. If we wanna create a fake /dev/radio0 to port the miui FM app, as you know, the AOSP framework must be applied with that BIG patch. As a AOSP lover, I'm not willing to see it happens.
Mike is also working on a simple app with appinventor released by google. But the site was blocked by my ISP(evil China gov), so I even can't have a chance to learn how to create an android app quickly.

Also Filipepferraz will help for sure and some others will support or help us. More people working more speed we will reach
If there are java writers here that want to help, all help will be good. I'll create this night a git with permissions for all that will want to add his knowledge to this project,

[BETA 0.5.2 - 8/3] My Android Manager - Complete phone management

My Android Manager 0.5.1
Exsiting users: Please upgrade by downloading http://myandroidmanager.com/app/MAM.exe
New Users: Please download full installation http://myandroidmanager.com/app/mam.msi
Public Beta Available : http://www.myandroidmanager.com/app/mam.msi
Note: There will be issues for tis build so if you want a perfectly stable application, just wait.
Follow my twitter and you might find sneak leaks =)
To those that have been following and installing:
I am still working on an update system people... Bear with me. It will most likely not come until we are out of beta
What it is:
An application meant to automate all of your phone management needs through the use of ADB. If you are are more comfortable with typing out every command and don't need a easier and quicker way to accomplish it, you dont need this app. It's basically a visual adb commander. Instructions will not come until we are on a stable build. If you have not installed the drivers for your phone correctly, this application will not work. Please search the forum for tips on getting your phone recognized. In the early stages, this program will work best if you have already configured adb and have used it. It is recommended that you move adb.exe to windows/system32 in order to execute adb from any directory. Also, be sure to run this program as administrator!! There will be bugs until version hits 1.0 In later stages the application will be integrated with xda to bring you the latest ROMS to make flashing a click of a button.
Beta Process:
The newest versions will always be released to a small test group to test the efficency before being fully released. This ensures that everyone gets a stable and working application. While it sounds like it has its advantages, I do ask that you fully test and take note of changes in your system when bugs do occur. A great beta tester tries to look for errors to make it easier on the developer when tracing the root of the problem. A great beta tester, and a develpers friend =), doesn't just say a certain feature isn't working. THose who are still interested, contact me whichever way you prefer
Initial Beta Released 7/14/2009

if you can just make a program for
- Format sd card fat32/ext2/3
i will love you!
Other than that, this sounds really cool and would be very useful! Good luck on it and hope to see it soon especialy with the daily Rom updates hahahaha

i agree
this should all be possible but most likely using the sdsplit method. I will do some testing on some spare sd cards I have
that would be cool. I guess you can make an adb bat script to download and install the sdplit.sh and then run it. That would be possible
EDIT: You should also add a nandroid backup and restore option. There is already a GUI for it but if you integrate it with your program i would use it constantly!
Id say add the linux-swap creation too. Cause it seems to be the future in how we all partition it now. Side request tho, FTP backup/restore option, I know since Im between home and work, I upload everything to my FTP. Now that would be nice to have something automate that work for me so I always have it safe and can access it anywhere.
Thanks for the ideas guys. I plan on implementing them
Added nandroid backup/restore to feature list.
ADB check/install is currently coded and working
Edit: All Done! System enviroment variables will be changed when ADB installed. Note: This will not correct the error of the driver being incorrectly installed. This happens when you dont enable debugging on your android phone and plug it up for the first time.
To fix this, you must delete some registry settings in order for adb to be recognized correctly.
This app will be made of pure win! I can't wait to see it! I know I'm new around here but I will do what I can to help this community as it has also helped me quite a bit with many different phones.
If only we could get this application completed, and a Hero ROM for the Dream, I'm pretty sure I'd drop a nut right here in this thread lol!

New screenshot added and FTP upload/download feature will be added to the list.
Speaking of the FTP, It might be a good idea to allow "Sync with FTP" so this way if your at work, vola it syncs with that folder kinda like a imap server. =)
Must admit, I am very impressed ^_^ Wish I could code as my previous job had positions open for it but its something that doesn't appeal to me, yet I have nothing but great admiration to those who can.
Keep up the good work ^_^

You mean tie this in with android software updates? Def. a possibility. It would make it an all-around android windows application for the Dream..
Tomorrow I will begin android backups and ftp syncing... The hardest will be handling the formatting of SD cards. I have some code (besides sdsplit) that may allow this. I have plenty of backup sd's to test this on
Ok this just looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing. I cannot wait to test this out . Good job on this. I have a question though, how does it know when there will be a new version and how would it get the changelog?

a very tricky method and a lot of code that stratefically looks through the XDA web site for changes in the original thread. The installed program will connect to an online database upon startup that checks for updates but the process that actually does the scanning will be on my pc. The application will be replicating the database server. It knows what the old changelog was so any new text will be added to the changelog.
It's a tricky procedure but its been working VERY well in my tests. Of course this wont account for new ROMS that are added so I will have to check periodically for new ROMS. The app will still allow you to flash a ROM you download.
Hopefully once it's up and running, the dev's will get involved. I can give them an app to update the information the application is pulling in. It would be a win win for devs as they can track amount of downloads..
Dude this is going to be soo sick can't wait hopefully every dev will use it
something else that could be implemented into this is a prompt or warning advisory that goes alongside each rom. like if it's a hero rom, it prompts you to make sure you have the correct spl, radio, and whatnot installed first. and if you don't have one installed, it will install the necessary things for you prior to installing the rom so that it will help prevent a brick or something.
yeah... something like that....

What kernel is this based on? My hope is he's recompiling the (I think 2.6.35?) kernel native to Gingerbread, rather than the other ROM's which have been using a variation on the original LG 2.6.29 kernel. If so, I'd hope we can port that kernel over to CM7.

But I dont undrstand what is benefit of original android. But as alternative that cool to see a difference between stuf. Would be cool if someone third try to make a CAF version. I think it has a more perfomanse responsibilities and many impruvements.

Agree. Amazing really, especially considering how old the hardware is, not supporting flash, etc. At least with 2.3 we have some hope of using some of the newer apps.

Good if its easy but just like compiling kernels on linux, newer kernels cause some big headaches with drivers. I'd rather have the older kernel and have it working correctly then wait for the newer kernel to function properly.
Anything in the newer kernel that we need/want?
First of all yes this is an advantage of having 2.3.1 aswell but its hard to put in words.
second can i ask when would it be updated to the latest 2.3.3 from aosp?
third i got the phone on 28 sept 2010 and on that day was my birthday and also on that day joestone released the rootgt540!
look at the progress of openetna and you will realise that we will get new kernels, just that we need to establish a fully working rom first.
what is CAF?

CyanogenMod Rom 2.1

hey people,
yes, you'll probably think "this guy is a noob and doesn't know what says!".
I was dreaming of creating a rom that combines CyanogenMod5 and the Stock 2.1, and some improvements made in CM6 and CM7 (some of them can be ported, i think so)
I think it will results in a VERY STABLE and VERY FAST and VERY SIMPLE Daily Use ROM.
Yeh, you will start saying "Use FroyoBread, use GingerDX, use MiniCM6, use MiniCm7, use this, use that, use blablabla" but i don't want that ROMs because they all have minor bugs (in CM6 VideoCamera the Audio and the Image are not sinc., on CM7 the screen as a non sensitive area and the MMS don't work), some Stock apps aren't available (like the Original X8 Timescape [ yes, there are some Timescapes for other roms but they are ported from Arc and other phones and i don't like it a lot) and much more things.
I know that probably a lot of you aren't interested in this, but i'm interested and i'm here to make this work! I only need help from some Devs. or simply some references and instructions, and sources and things like that so i can start by myself creating that 2.1 ROM
So, if someone is interested in a project like this, or know some things that could help me realizing this project, just PM me or leave here a comment.

humm, but CM5 is stable? if yes we can base a ROM on it, right?
I'll try to search something more before asking to that developers, because that developers have their own ROMs so they have a lot of work to do :S
Thanks for your reply
Not a bad idea......
Ya the developers will point you in the right way but thay willnt do it for you lol good luck on that wee rom it a good place 2 start
super.sense on x8
I'm gonna start by training only doing some changes in roms made by other developers and building them so I can see how the kitchen works, then I will try to make changes in apks (basically changing themes and icons) and then I will start doing my own roms with some tips from the developers
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
I hardly see the point of creating another 2.1 ROM when you already have a fully working one. oO
Nice idea. Is it possible that 2.1 can support app2sd which I think is for 2.2 and above? I'm having an headachd now. Lol.
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
in my opinion this is an absolutely brilliant idea.
is, I had a similar idea yesterday, but I'm developing my first ROM, which is 2.1 with a modified framework and removing 70% of applications sony ericsson (album, player, video player, stupid games, etc.) by exchanging the native android and keeping only the message service, telephone, alarm and other applications were still using the sony ericsson.

Muito boa ideia!
I would use 2.1 modded CUSTOM ROM. I mean, I have my xperia x8 running Stock ROM right now and I experimented all of custom ROMS I found here.
I loved it and I hated it. Before I stopped experimenting ROMS I loved NobodyAtall's miniCM6 Stable 2.2 ROM. It is wondefull, simple, lightwave, beautifull. But some bugs (like camera button), the missed application (like stock alarm and stock Contacts Manager) and some UI stuff I just didn't admit in my phone.
Now I have stock ROM and again I love it and hate it.
In my stock ROM I like UI theme, I like Alarm app, Contacts app and Dial theme (clean and simple, specially Contacts favourite).
I like full working android.
But I hate single widget launcher (I am Arc Launcher lover)
I hate the fact I can't use flash on my device.
I hate the fact that I have dual touch and my android 2.1 can't recognize it (only in games).
Well, I think if someone create a fullworking 2.1 ROM with stock contacts manager, dialpad, alarm, stock theme, native Arc Launcher, Flash support and native cypress module installed, I will have children with its dev.
Where i can get CM5??
i have CM5.0.6 for Nexus-One.
Edit:
Already cast my Custom Rom 2.1, if someone wants to test

Thanks for ROM! I really loved media controller in status pushdown window.
But it is not for me. I am a SE app lover (like dialler, contacts, timescape, alarm), and I am a android 2.1 and xperia x8 launcher hater (I love Arc Launcher). Any alternative for me?

I don´t think so, but there is a fully working alternative named link2sd. I used it when running rooted 2.1. And it was great. A big andvantage is that you can move more to the SD compared to App2sd.

F-Cuk-R v1.5 - Automated MIUI GB ROM Cooker for FB0 devices

F-Cuk-R : Automated MIUI GB ROM Cooker for FB0 devices
What does one do when their cheap mobile device doesn't get official support from the elite rom developers?
One is forced to experiment and learn to do it himself! But obviously, not everyone is able to invest the time or maybe have the stamina to do it, so here is a solution for those who bought this Android phone thinking its vfm but were disappointed when they could not get those regular "nightly" or "weekly" updates.
I have made a single step Automatic ROM cooker to port all future MIUI GB releases.
All the proprietary FB0 libraries are pre-included in the program and all the steps of the cooking process including recompiling the framework files and modifying the build.prop and update-script are automated.
Features preincluded in the automated process:
mOCk OC (64 MHz - 2 GHz) and Undervolting kernel with 2 way call recording patch
Sony Bravia postprocessing engine
No headset bug and no incoming call volume bug
Native Wifi hotspot feature/tethering working
USB tethering working
Timezone has been set to IST (+5:30)
Ads blocker hosts included and enhanced to block all Google ads
Spare Parts
CM7 camera beside MIUI camera
Angry GPS
Custom and improved GPS.conf for Indian users
Equalizer app
X5 settings
G-sensor calibration app
E-Compass calibration app
Power button app
Compass
The following apps will be automatically removed from the rom:
BugReport.apk
MIUIStats.apk
TelocationProvider.apk
You needn't wipe dalvik cache since the update script automatically does it.
Requirements:
You need Java Runtime Environment 1.6 installed for apktool to work.
Download apktool from here
Also add apktool.jar, apktool.bat and aapt.exe to your system PATH.
This can be done by editing your Windows environment variables manually or copying these files to %WINDIR% or to %SystemRoot%\system32
Please note that this limitation is due to apktool. if you can successfully decompile and recompile using apktool manually, there is no reason why the app won't work.
Else, your rom won't boot as it will lack crucial files like services.jar and framework-res.apk which have to be modified to port the rom.
You need a stable Windows PC.
I have tested this only on Windows XP 32 bit.
Windows Vista/7 and higher may require admin privileges.
I prefer to port MIUI releases for Desire HD but it can possibly handle U8800 releases too.
Step (yes only one):
Just download the rom to be modded and run the F-Cuk-R program

}
That's it. Your modded rom port will be created in a couple of seconds to minutes (depending on your computer's power)
The app is multithreaded and would thrash your multicore processor and your hard disk / ssd!
Tip: For most efficiency and speed (500% boost), I recommend the use of a ramdisk like me. Google for Gavotte ramdisk driver.
Takes less than a minute for me to port takes 15 minutes to download and 2 hours for me to upload!
But bear in mind, this took me days to code and weeks to accomplish.
I hope it was worth it
Although due care has been taken to keep this bug free and optimal, please do not blame me for any loss monetary or otherwise happening due to the use of this program.
You are free to post any rom you mod/port using this tool but I would appreciate a humble mention if this helped you
Download v1.5
Let me know if it works for you or not!
Man, You're very kind, made for us apps like this,,,

Nope. I am yet to learn that.
If there was a 2way call recording kernel for ICS, it would definitely overcome my inertia.
For now, I am happy with MIUI GB.

Your bash script and mk file proved very useful.
If only I knew how to compile from source
You must teach me cm7/cm9 porting! I'll automate it.
Okay I lied.
I accomplished this in less than 10 days from being a total noob to this and I have a full time job
It would be even funnier if you knew what I do for a living

So now this forum is going to be flooded with MIUI Roms for our Smartfone
The more the merrier
Btw, anyone tried yet?
Please give me some input whether this is working or not before MIUI 2.3.30.

Thats cool FR.....
Great.... wil definitely try it ....
After several days I'm off in porting browse xda, then I found this great app.
Very great app FR...!
I've my own also but in bash script and not perfect yet going to add native wifi.
About native wifi, have you found it? I was found it in framework-res.apk at array.xml, several lines has to be changed but I forgot. I was tried but failed to boot. I still out of home, hope today I can continue the work.
Editted: woooww... I just knew that you already knew that... you'll be a real android dev FR....! Hats off and two tumbs for you!

For native wifi tethering I believe
Code:
<string-array name="config_tether_wifi_regexs">

wl0.1

should be changed to
Code:
<string-array name="config_tether_wifi_regexs">

softap.*

I have just added this to my cooker.
Shall verify and update the first page if it works.
Yes, those lines... but also several lines like ppp and others... sorry I'm not at front of pc, I'm still on the way to home so I can't give you detail. But I think you will easily find them.
Edited: I'll be arrived home in an hour, then I'll try your cooker! And hope we can continue to discuss.
If I'm not wrong, the rest lines should be just several lines below that wl0.*
Sent from my CSL-MI410
DHD rom arrays.xml already has this:
Code:
<string-array translatable="false" name="config_tether_upstream_regexs">

"rmnet\\d"

"wlan\\d"

"ppp\\d"

</string-array>
btw, my build.prop references to wlan0 so I don't think eth0 is needed.
Besides, wifi is working, only tethering is not right?

good program mate. let me try it, but I can't find the download link? or its my operamini problem? or my eyes priblem? hehe
I think build from source like cm7/9 was already automated. just fixing bug is not automated and need more time and resources.
huh, I'm still lazy to learn it again, I must beat my laziness to start build from source again. hahaha
v1.1 has some problem
Shall upload the update later today.
Could not fix wifi issue since recompiling framework-res.apk is giving me boot loops.
I found a bug, when you decompile service.jar, you forgot to add a space char between service.jar file path and the destination folder path.

no that's not it.
(you decompiled my program too ?)
I corrected that, but recompiling framework-res, with or without any changes, still causes the bootloop.
run at which platform?
Windows/Linux/Android?

Hello, I'm slightly noobish with some aspects of Android but here is my issue: I did exactly as the installation guide instructed, and I can't get the manager installed. Same app recommended, managed after couple of hours to get the files on my Nexus 5, run as SU, but says options can't be found. it lists them, but follows with saying they are not in the folder or available. And i can't manage to enter the command.
If this is major nooblike text just take it easy here and help me out.
Hey guys! This might be a dumb question, but does this mod have any potential for conflict with the dalvik and bionic mod, listed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299?
I ask, because I'm thinking of compiling an AOSP build with both mods baked in, and I want to be aware of potential pitfalls. Thanks for any/all feedback, and thank you for (what appears to be) an excellent mod.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Hi jjhiza,
No issue between both mods (I've tested), it's two different things.
You can test by yourself before if you want, you just need to edit the build.prop and add manually (at least more convenient for me than running the script) the different lines from the script here or from the source link and flash the Dalvik/Bionic patches.
About the real improvement of this mod (I mean this Adreno Catalyst mod), I let you judge by yourself...

The Script is still in Alpha, which means the code is compiled and the base features are existen but i cant get it to execute its main features without hiccups, im going to rebuild it now to see how it goes...
