Want Nexus TV Off Screen Animation? Here! - Epic 4G Themes

Open Market and type in Screen Off and Lock, download it and set it up as old tv style lock, but the problem is that if you press the power button, the phone will close normally, you have to press the screen off and lock button to make it show the off animation. Is it possible if it could be implemented for the power button on the epic?
Thanks

I just downloaded it. Its pretty cool. Like you said it would be alot better if it would work by hitting the power button.

Yeah, I wonder if someone could make it work with the power button

Could this be done with Tasker?

Pretty cool, could be great with some tweaking.

I don't think there is anything for the power button in the SDK.

The difference is that this has nothing to do with modifying the framework for the screen on/off animation but rather mapping an app to work with the power button.

Do you think it's possible?? Because I would love to see this working with the power button! (and also making the animation a little bit faster)
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App

Well, there isn't anything in the sdk that allows for mapping the power button, at least to my knowledge, but perhaps a dev with a bit more knowledge on the subject would care to chime in on it.

Except the little detail where apps can't be mapped to the power button.

just use the remap long press search button option....how often do people really use google voice actions? you can just make a shortcut on the desktop for voice actions.

I can't even find this app on th market anymore ?

Thanks for sharing. This is pretty sweet! If only it could be mapped to the power button.
But it works great as a launcher pro gesture action

Is it suppose to unlock the screen by pressing the menu key? Mine does, just checking.
Menu unlock is not checked, I didnt try it without wake lock so maybe its cm9 thing.

Well... since jokersax provided mirrors to those files I will put down my mirrors tomorow.
Hopefully we wont need then soon.
great work, i do have one thought though, maybe rather change the "settings" button to the apps buttons, since ics doesnt have a settings button by itself, and the search button is quite useful at times.
Volume rocker already has its own settings switch, so sooner or later it will be built in.
Remapping soft keys switch is a good idea for older phone, since new ics guidelines are no physical buttons. But thinking more about, which apk you will assign for a button that is a house drawing? Always the launcher I think. The same for the back and search buttons. Menu is the more "plastic" button.
btw, vol MOD working good for turls v6. Didn't test it to jokers beta.

Hi guys. And if I wanna go back to search by pressing the search key? Sorry but prefer to tap and hold home than use a second key just for that
Edit. re-flashed jokers stock cm 9 and got my search key back. What's the use of having a second key assigned to recent anyways? Just to press instead of press and hold? May be missing somethin here...

Cool Jelly Bean trick!!!

I was just playing around with my Nexus 7 and I came across a neat and convenient trick to dispose of a app from the app drawer that you may have mistakenly selected and you only get three options uninstall, app info or simply drop the app on the home screen of your Nexus device. Well, there's a fourth option! Simply long press a app from your home screen or app drawer. Then, fling your finger that's holding down the app down up and release! That's it! From the home screen you don't have to take a app all of the way up to the white x remove then red release delete. From the bottom or where ever that app is on your screen you want to remove or replace, just press and hold the app you want to remove, fling your finger in motion down then up release and watch it fly away off of your screen! I think this only works with Jelly Bean, but this my friend is very convenient!

I can add another cool trick: slide up from the bottom of the screen where the 3 buttons are to bring up the Google search. Neat.

It shows a lockscreen-style circle for that. Kinda unnecessary, but cool. A quick swipe up from the home button works just as well.

There's an easter egg in the settings app. Go into "about tablet". Tap the version number many times. After that, press and hold the Jelly Bean.

That is actually launching Google Now. If you do not have search history turned on for your google account, you will only see a google search.
If you have history, it will show more information cards.

Not everyone watched the presentations. No reason to be unnecessarily mean. I thanked him since I didn't know about the trick at all and these types of threads are awesome.

Softkeys/Navigation Bar mod for car install idea

This is an idea I had while trying to get use to my tablet as a head unit. I found it very annoying that I had to switch screens to change the volume or tracks.
I wanted to see if anyone would think it would be a good idea to add a few buttons to the navigation bar like a skip back, forward, play/pause, volume up/down.
I'm trying to figure it out myself but I'm not the greatest programmer so I figured if I shared my idea someone might might be able to figure it out.
This is what I was thinking!

I have almost finished an app which will add next/previous/play and many other things to the soft button bar. Maybe I'll add volume controls too. For the moment the app was planned with the new bar style in mind ( aka not the omni bar seen from 3.0 to 4.1 which was abandoned in 4.2) but I think a little tweak will render it compatible.
I'll keep you updated.

I'm 99.9% sure that I didn't, and this was after unlocking the phone - so i'd have had to have swiped and jumped (fast!) to something else and then.... It's a longshot, but probably the only explanation that makes sense. Still, I think I'd prefer to believe that kitkat plays games when I'm not looking.
