REQ: CIFS/NFS for CM7 - Nook Color General

i've postes heee and there this request but truth be told, i guess i was hijacking those threads and being somewhat rude. so here goes:
Any chance. we'll see CIFS/NFS love in CM7?

Check out AndSMB or CifsManager in thr market. They work for me.

are you on cm7?
Sent from my NookColorCM7 using Tapatalk

CIFS Manager won't work on CM7 unless we have cifs.ko which is not available on the ROM itself! Anybody cares to compile it?

It works fine if you use Dalingrins kernel, which has the cifs.ko module attached.
I promise

Droid X - tun.ko for vpnc

Does any have tun.ko for DroidX - or build instructions?
I would like to user get-a-robot-vpnc which required tun.ko.
I think we need the kernel source first. I am pretty sure motorola hasn't released it yet. Once they do we should be able to compile modules and load them into our kernel even if we can flash anything....

[Q] how do I USB teather on 2.3.5

Hi I want to USB teather but it said that the kernel does not support it.
Any ideas or fixes for this. I'm using 2.3.5 and my pc is windows xp. Here's what it said the kernel needs.
This means that the Linux kernel on your device does not have the features (CONFIG_NETFILTER/CONFIG_IP_NF_IPTABLES and/or RNDIS) required for tethering. If you have an ADP G1, please read (or ADP16KernelUpdate if you're using Donut), otherwise you will need to find a firmware/kernel with these features.
lol doesn't mean nothing to me can anyone help.

[Q] Dsixda's Android Kitchen?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
If I take MIUI or CM7 Base(I want it for the MTD and Yaffs2) and replace the ; Build.prop(not required), framework, libs, system.ui, and anything else needed for it to run, Would it still be in Yaffs2 or RFS?
What I am wanting to do is create a stock Samsung KI2 ROM running on a MTD base and Yaff2 partition.

You could probably end up using an init.d script or a .zip that is capable. You could try this kitchen too. Idk. If it would work or not, you would be the first to try.
EDIT: I would not try the kitchen. Advanced reading of the OP reveals that this kitchen is for HTC devices ONLY. Which have major differences than ours. So no. It would not work. Sorry to be the Debbie downer.

No it works, you just first know how to use it right. I have done it before for my Cappy! That's how we get our flashable zips

Oh. Well in that case go ahead, try it, just have Odin in hand. Or heimdall. Cause you will probably need it

Yes I am talking about preware, it wont let me downlad or install some stuff because its testing versions/unsafe i am well aware of the risk but i still want to continue
I'm on version 3.0.4 and used the "stable" kernel from Preware... And govnah to overclock it..
Id say watch a video tutorial on YouTube to make sure you have Preware installed correctly/trouble shoot what is causing your error

Testing.preware.org is the official instructions for running testing preware feeds. Pretty important to visit there and understand why they made it harder to use alpha/beta feeds.

I would have to agree with contradude. Alpha and beta releases of software on the touchpad do have serious risks involved. When using android and having a problem, one can always just reflash the install when things go south. If you screw up on the webos side, you better have a good working knowledge of the linux command line as there be large dragons ahead. I currently run uberkernel and govnah to get stable performance at 1.5 gHz. The TP is fast and smooth at those settings and I see no upside to pushing the envelope as everything runs as it should now.

preware still works under 3.0.4
not sure what you're getting at

I just saw the updated uberkernel and installed it. We now have the 1.7 GHz option as well as 1.5. This was released since my last post. The feeds I was refering to were the experimental feeds for pushing beyond the uberkernel limits.

The latest uberkernel is also a BETA feed.
So you need to look at Webos Internals Testing Feeds , for the new procedure. Read this page carefully.
As Moshe so nicely put it, this is the entrance to the Dragons lair.

CleanROM Inheritance coming to the Nexus 7

Some of you may know me form the TF700 and TF300 Asus forums on XDA.
I have been able to significantly speed up those devices by rebuilding scrosler's CleanROM stock base and tweaking it. I have just successfully done the same on the N7 version and it is flying.
Now I need a few testers to make sure it works for all. The ROM is ready to go now but I will release it in the next few days pending testing.
Anyone fancy a quick stock N7 rom to test? :fingers-crossed:
Pm me please.
VaderSKN is avalaible for testing!

Will this be fore 3G also?
I'm down to test. Don't be alarmed by my "junior member" status, I have 2 profiles.
Im running multiboot, and would like to run and test it on that setup.

I'd be willing to test

So how is it? Scotty's ROMs are pretty damn good..... So if he can making it better/faster, that's kick-ass!
Got enough testers for now! :good: Thanks everyone for the help.
Check your Pms!

Any plans to add this fix for empty app-mounted directories?
I am running cleanrom 3.0 with leankernel 1.2 and really like both alot. Thanks very much for your efforts.
My only issue is with mounting ext3/ext4 usb sticks and hard drives. They appear to mount using stickmount but the files aren't visible
in Root Browser or ES File explorer.
I'd like to be able to mount them manually using busybox mount/umount and I think what follows may work without relying on stickmount.
Please have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106480
Is it possible to add either of these patches to your rom and/or kernels?
Thanks again.
