Bluetooth stereo headset? Jabra Clipper? SE MW600? - LG Optimus 2x

Hi guys!
Do any of you have som experiences with theese bluetooth stereo headsets with the LG 2x ?
SE MW600
Jabra Clipper
Are there any issues with the remote controls?
They cost around the same.. Which one would you prefer?

I use the Sennheiser PX 210BT and it is really great.
Long battery lifetime, fast connection, controls work well and the sound is just great.

Don't know the SE but the clipper sucks!
Call quality is really bad. Music quality quite good though.
I have a Plantronics BackBeat. Music and call quality is good but they tend to drop out of the ears once in a while due to the cord around the neck.
Have yet to find the perfect stereo BT headset.

I have the Jabra BT3030 and have to say that the sound quality is pretty good with my shure se210 headphones. The call quality is good and all the buttons work.
Ohh and it's fairly LOUD, if you lie it loud.
Got mine for £12 from hong kong, from a company that seems to be no longer trading. But they are available from ebay easily.

I am using a Sennheiser MM400, after the last update to v10c phone calls are also working. Controls work too.
Quality is fine.

Voice dialing
Is anyone able to use Voice Dialing from a bluetooth set?
I have the SE MW600 and all the remote controls work EXCEPT for activating the voice dial. Voice dialing worked with my HTC WM6, but not on this LG Android. It will work if you launch Voice Dial manually on the phone first, but that defeats the whole purpose of having and using the Hands Free Profile.
Music controls work flawlessly and sound quality and volume is great. Nice to have the music equalizer working after coming from a HTC whose music player would not allow equaliser over bluetooth.
I am thinking of trying a Sony DRC-BT60 to see if it is able to activate the voice dial. The other feature I am wanting in the Sony is noise cancelling/filtering which the MW600 does not have. If you are thinking of using the MW600 while on a motorbike or bicycle, forget about it.

My Dial button doesn't work. This is an LG problem as my dial button activated the voice dialling on my ZTE Blade. I have voice dialing installed.

Yes, that is what I am suspecting, that it is an LG problem. Everything I have read says that Froyo 2.2 is capable of doing voice calling over bluetooth.
What to do now?

I'm using Nokia 905i, it is the best!
Bluetooth, noise con. and you could also use a wire if you want

I'am also using SE MW600..
Same with you, all remote controls work fine..
But its LCD didn't display the caller names, this will not happen if I use SE G900..
Now I have to remember such a number, or the other way is I have to look at my O2X to see who is calling..
I haven't use this device to make "voice" dialing, but you can redial the last number you call from MW600 with pressing the dial button twice..
It's not a big problem to me as I can make a call manually from O2X..

I have SE MW600 for last year with my N1.
All described issues haven't gone on LG O2X:
- poor voice dialing (working, but 98% tries are mistakes );
- no support for Caller ID, only numbers;
- AOSP firmwares (like Cyanogen) often doesn't have A2DP profiles to listen music through bluetooth (now CM7 nightlies (#58 for today) for our LGO2X doesn't have one, you can only use remote controls but hear nothing);
I wonder if any of these developers could try to extract from SE Android-based devices MW600 supporting files.

Is it illegal for an AOSP ROM to have the A2DP (and any other Bluetooth) profile? I am using MW600 too!

I would HIGHLY recommend looking into the LG HBS-700 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. I purchased it two weeks ago, and I've been loving it! Call & Music quality are AMAZING. Controls work perfectly, and it controls it's own volume. (Separate from Android's)
Battery lasts me a few days of good usage.

No, of course not...
His (dikud) post was from 26th of June and CM7 didn't support A2DP back then. But more because of lack of information about the Bluetooth stack – which isn’t good documented by LG and nvidia and needed reverse engineering to be implemented in CM7.
Now/today its working fine...

Configuring Jawbone for A2DP support??

Has anyone been able to configure their Jawbone (or other mono headset) to hear playback via A2DP or other means?
I've googled the entire interweb and cannot seem to get this to work.
The only option I have for the device in the bluetooth manager is "headset" the "set as stereo headset" is grayed out.
Thanks for any help!

The Jawbone doesn't support A2DP. There are programs that allow you to stream audio to it (See post above). However, they stream it at phone call quality, which means music sounds god awful. Plus, it eats the battery of the Jawbone (which thinks its it making a phone call).
If you actually want bearable audio, you want a real A2DP headset.
The Jabra BT8040 supports A2DP natively and is an excellent BT headset. I wish it had a standard power plug (fewer things to pack for business trips) but other than that, it rocks.
I also have a Jawbone and prefer the BT8040...the Jawbone has much outstanding noise cancellation but the BT8040 beats it in every other category IMHO.
Or use this small free utility to send all the Audio output to the blue tooth headset (even if it doesn't support A2DP).
http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/bluetoothaudio.shtml
Works flawlessly on my phone
if your bluetooth doesn't have a2dp and you want to force audio throught the regular bluetooth headset then look for the btaudio.cab
I find this to be the easier one to use. Run the can and there will be an icon under programs. Click it will force audio and click it again will undo. This is simple cause it doesnt hog system resources.
Any one here familiar with a "work-around" (such as posted above) for the android platform?
I own a nexus one and Jawbone prime - wish I could stream music/voip(!) over my jawbone (blue tooth ear piece)..
Thanks
Jawbone 2 - should have a2dp

I have a jawbone 2 which I love for the noise cancellation, but if I could get it to support A2DP the possibilities for voice control of my GS3 would be endless. I know this is an old thread, but it would be great if anyone has figured this out.
Please let me know if there has been a workaround.

Which bluetooth headset with Streak for absolutely no drop out and clarity?

Thinking of getting a streak.
Been through so dang many of the bluetooth devices and have noticed that some work better with particular phones. What are you using with YOUR streak and does it drop out or give/not-give great clarity?
for MINE, I have no issues with my Jawbone ICON headset. I have a ATT Streak with the O2 2.1 update in Atlanta.
plantronics 975 - hands down the best headset for the streak or pretty much any phone.....no static....great battery life....
My Jawbone Icon is also working great with the US 1.6 version. My only gripe is that when I enable the BT I still have to set the device options to use the phone audio. Otherwise it works great.

Mine stays checked so I have no need to go there each time I pair up.
My jawbone works as soon as I turn the bluetooth on.
What I want to is direct all sounds to my Jawbone.
IE: ringtones, music, ect...how can I do that?
I use one of these:

They are awesome for music and cheap as chips! I have my phone in a pouch around my waist while I'm in the gym and the music is proper clear. I actually stuggled using these with my HD2 as whenever something gets inbetween the right ear piece and the phone, or the top part of the phone was covered at all, everything would start to brake up, but it's working wonderfully with the Streak. Not really used them for phone calls but think they were alright when I did.
+1 Jawbone Icon
in order to allow all sounds to the icon, you have to enable it through an update to the firmware. however, note that it will move ALL sounds - (GPS included)
do that on the jawbones website (never remember the manufacturer)
I've just bought one of these:
http://www.chipchick.com/2009/12/sony-ericsson-mw600-review.html
verdict?
Brilliant. Calls come in clear. There may be better ones, but it's doing the job good. Music streaming? Sometimes a quarter of a secound pause, not bothering me at all, keeps me awake
the most brilliant thing about it? It has a built in FM radio. So the dell streak has not an FM radio, but this BT headset can compromise for it, altough you can not save a channel, just tune and listen, no problem for me either. It does remember your last listened radio station, just no presets.
Few other things.
Accept calls from the BT headset, ok.
Skip, play and pause tracks, ok.
Adjust volume, ok.
Works with Rockplayer, youtube etc, ok.
downside, does not show track info on the oled screen.
it plays nicely with my bt watch. ie, my watch vibrates and can see who is calling me and I can just take the call with the headset.
So far, pretty amazing. I must confess, I am not an audiophilic, just occasionaly listen to music, but i can say that music output is ok. btw, the bluetooth module has a 3.5m audio jack, so you can plug your own earbuds into it, the mic is on the bt module as well.
I've bought mine for a mearly 45 euro's.

Hi all,
Like others for just voice calls i am using one of the earlier Jawbones not sure which one it is though and for Music and Voice I'm using a Nokia BH-500 Bluetooth Headset with a pair of Shure EC2g's and the sound is nothing short of stunning with no drop outs or stutters at all also all the controls on it work perfectly with the Streak.

Blueant Q2 - Phone book and Bluetooth Voice dial
Using a Blueant Q2. Loads the phone book into the headset and announces who is calling if they are in your phonebook. Also works for Bluetooth voice dialing. Press the button, say Phone commands and it activates the Nuance Voice Control through the headset. Running Streak Stock Firmware 1.6.
Sounds great and I can go close to 50-60 feet before it loses the signal.

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.

I have paired my old Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 and the new MW600 stereo headsets for music and calls. both worked fine during the first pairing process. however Nexus S did not recognize MW600 after couple of days, may be it got confused with my old and new bluetooth signatures. so i made a backup of my phone and did a factory reset and started using MW600 with just pairing it once. its working fine without any problem. btw which headset (model) are you using?

Call quality is above average, no echo, no background noise. Music controls right on the headset, large caller ID / info screen.

Looks interesting. Does it work with video calls on the Tab?
Not sure, I'll test it out and get back to ya.
I have owned this particular Bluetooth device for about 6months, and its audio quality and range are unbelievable! Only cons I can think of are... it doesn't display the name of the caller on the caller id, only the #, and it is really hard to find a set of replacement OEM headphones (hpm-70)(my cat destroyed the set that came with it), on the plus side any normal (3.5mm connection) headphones will work, you just have to deal with a long cord (the set it comes with are VERY short on purpose). Never been happier with a bluetooth device of any kind.

Iv been using this with the gt for four months now, Im really satisfied. After some small changes in Bluetooth audio config file it works well with both music and in call..
well since i use the bt headset for calls so i dont hold bulky tab in my hands. I use the cheapo 15$ nokia bh105. Works on any device even ps3. Music media and video. I still stick to a strong sturdy wired headphones.
I don't have the BT device mentioned, but I can attest to the audio quality of Sony BT headsets. I had a BT20NX previously, the build-quality wasn't too great; the cable came loose after about a year or two of use but the audio was pretty astounding being bluetooth and all. My key liking of it was the level of bass it provided, and that it worked with all my devices from mobile phone to PC without a hitch.
Now using a Jabra BT3030, bass is weak similar to the Plantronics I had previously. Quite disappointing since my main use of a BT headset is for music.
I have the mw600 and have paired them with my galaxy s and work fantastically. Though I have tried to connect to the galaxy tab but keep having issues like it wont show up in the scanning area.
Hi,
Is it possible to use the BT Headset (paired with the Tab) as Mic and the Line-Out of the Tab as Out?
Thanks,
Sam

No, it isn't.
Anybody can confirm me that I can use the Tab stock earpiece and this? I kindof don't like the thing to be clipped at my shirt or something. I don't mind the loss is quality if using the stock earpiece tho'.
You can use any 3.5" jack connector ear piece with the MW600, only thing is that the mic is on the tiny device, right next to the answer button. means you need to clip it on your shirt while talking.
So the stock earpiece mic won't work?
Not the mic, but ear pieces will.
love this bluetooth
Im also using a mw600 for almost a month now with my Tab, dell streak and HD2, its quality and performance is truely great! I didnt use the stock earphones that came with it, instead I use my Beats Studio by Dr Dre. And wow! Sound quality is still awesome! No difference when I was using my Dre's in a cable, I am really amaze.
Best range ever on bluetooth devices. Goes through walls and sound quality is still great.
what else can I say, its a worth purchase.

I love this BT as well. Best BT sound quality I've ever heard. I didn't like the cable on the included headset, although the sound was great and the earpieces are really confortable. I bought a pair of $20 earbuds and cut and resoldered the cables myself, now I've got a pair of earbuds with a 1' cord, and it clips to my shirt collar. No more tangles, or excess cable! Perfect!
