[Q] USB Mass storage problem - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Hello guys,
I have a big problem with my Milestone CM7.0.0 11.04.18b.
When i want to connect the phone in mass storage mod with my pc, the phone get rebootes. I can not use usb mass storage. I have tryed to mount-unmount, manualy reboot, bla bla....the same result. ...
Where can be the problem?
I haved that problem many time before now, but the solution it was to delete AOR from my memory card and after that usb mass storage it can be used...now not even with that it doesn't work anymore (.
Thx guys.

Updated to 11.04.24 and the problem is the same. I think the problem is from my sd card....
Help guys

Try inserting the sdcard directly in your computer (that are usb dongles that can do it for you if your computer do not have a sd card reader) and check the sd. I would recommend you to backup your sd and format it again. This is just not normal. Have you checked if your rom was properly flashed, without errors?

I have inserted the sd directly in my computer and is just ok. Work without any problem. I have formated sd a few times till now, but the result is the same...but only with CM ROM. If i will flash any other rom, there is no problem with my sd....i really don't get it what i did wrong...:-??

Same with mine, waiting for a fix...

Seems to work fine for me

we can write stuff into the card in our phone, but not by connecting to the PC then choose Mass Storage / Kies to copy file over there
I can write things by taking the card out of my phone and put it in pc and copy things over but when i connect my phone to pc i can't transfer anything across.

There's a workaround. Not a good one, but at least it works. You can get full r/w access to the external sd card from within Kies, with the horrible Kies file-explorer.

Nope, the external card is still r/o when seen through USB storage in windows
tried changing the permissions in root explorer as well, no joy.
There is a easy way how to solve this. Plug in the cable, select Kies (on the phone), u dont have to run kies on your PC, after the Kies is running on your phone, on your pc there should be mobile phone connected, go there and there are both cards(in, ext) and u can use them.
i also have the same problem with the sd card :/

Internal and externa Sd issues

Hello, this is my firt post and i need help!
Now when i connect in kies mode the phone keeps mounting and unmouting the Sd cards! and hangs in starting, doesnt get recognised by keys. This issues only occurs in kies mode and not in mass storage. Could it be related to kies, the usb port or phone?
Thanks

Ok, I've tested in another pc and it does the same: keeps mounting and unmouting both sd cards and stays in starting to kies without connect to kies... So i thinks it's not kies itself or usb ports... Is there anything wrong with the phone or it's something i installed to? (before the problems it disconnected by mistake from kies then I got a damaged internal sd card info and external sd card corruption, but both are working fine and I didn't get that notification anymore...). What can i do? Shall a format solve this?
Formated the internal sd and nothing... but wait... removed the external sd card and voilá! it now works!!!
Odd. I know there's a bug in kies that won't let you connect if you have media files with more then 16 letters. That could be reason. Check your files and rename them. Also do a format the SD car dwith your phone in settings. Unmount then format. That should also help

Ok, it's doing the same again, with or without external sd... So i realy don't know what's appening!
Be sure to use the latest kies , it's a kies bug , but i am prety sure that the latest one has it fixed .

that's not true - it's working for me with WGSpoelstra's GB Edition 6.6.0 !
maybe u have to remove all the phone drivers on your pc and install the lg united mobile driver...
omg its about not using any non standard usb mass storage drivers. dont you get it?
I have the same problem with CM7. Can't connect to PC and don't have internal SD Card. Please give me solution. Thanks
Something goes wrong when the phone mounts the internal SD card. It is possible to modify the vold file in /system/etc to get it to function, but I couldn´t. I think your local Linux shark could.
I bought an external SD card to solve the problem. When you are using an external SD card, your PC i able to recognize both the internal and the external.

Keep in mind that the internal storage is mounted as /mnt/emmc

Sd Card not reconised.

Hello guys!
I've got a Galaxy S i9000 and i have a 8GB microSD. I used that SD card on my Xperia Play (sold it, but without the SD) and after i got the Galaxy I put my SD in it. Everything worked well, it recognised everything... but today I wanted to put some music on my SD and i noticed that it loads very slowly, and after that i got an error which said: "the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error". And I got that error everytime i tried to copy/paste something from/to my SD.
So I said, ok, I'll just format it. I formated it in recovery, and everything wen well...it was fast again so i just tried to copy some music (2 or 3 GB)...but when it was at 80-90% i got that error again.
I searched on the Internet...and found SD Formater and I used it to format my card again. And after it finished I rebooted my phone. After it loaded a notification came up... "SD Damaged"...i tried to format it again in recovery but nothing changed.
So does anyone know how to fix it? Please help me!
Thanks in advance!
PS: Sry for my English and for the long post.
Try to format the SD card in your Computer or another Portable Device like a Camera, External card Reader etc.,
Always safely remove USB & try to enable USB debug mode.

Hi, I fixed this by reverting to frodo and then back to CM.
I had to repartition my phone... I also couldn't format it anymore..
