[Video] Extensive Rearth Ringke Case Review - Nexus S Accessories

Rearth had sent me a case to do a review as well as gather feedback for their product from the XDA community.
I'm aware that there are many other Nexus Ringke picture threads already posted, as well as Ploone's video; however, I thought this video went into a little bit more detail, and was worth creating another thread in case anyone was interested and didn't want to go digging through posts.
Rearth is being very proactive regarding improving their case, so if you guys see anything that you like, don't like, or wish that could be added, then feel free to leave some feedback so that we could see it in their season 2 case. (Ex. one thing that I've mentioned before, is possibly adding some texture design to the back of the case)
Here's the link to my video review. I can take pictures on request, but there are already plenty of Ringke picture threads available.
[no advertising websites either in print or speech within videos]

Very detailed video - you convinced me to grab the case.
Have you tried their screen protector? If so, how is it?

I liked it and found it to perform well. Fitment was 98% there. I applied the protector on perfectly but still had a 0.5 mm screen lift on the top edge. I had it on for about a week and found it to be a good protector. I had to take it off because I accidentally creased it while playing basketball. I can't compare how it performs against other screen protectors because I've only used this and ghost armor.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

Aww awesome. Thanks for the reply.
I've heard that they purposely make the screen protector a bit shorter because of the shape of the Nexus S screen.
I guess I'll find out when it comes in in a couple of weeks.

I saw this too, the other day. Couldn't work out whether it was just posh photography or whether this case actually will be better quality. Let me know how it is when you get it!
You say its the best tpu case so far but you haven't even ordered it yet..?

That's XDA for you. Posts like that plague almost every forum here lol. -_-
This is the fourth or fifth thread in this forum in the last week about this particular case, and they've all been from people who haven't ordered them.
I'd almost think the creator was trying to spam the site and drum up some business... but I'm naturally paranoid. Anywho, buy one and test it before you put up another redundant thread!

I sure do like that baby blue color though... I'd order one for half the price!
I ordered this the day it was made available by nillkin about two weeks ago. I should be getting it any day now but judging my the nillkin case I use on my Galaxy Nexus I'm pretty confident it should be a quality case. Will update once I get it.

I saw this and just by looking at it, it seems pretty nice and high quality. A lot of the TPU skins are just S or X cases. That arent to nice. This is unique and the baby blue is nice.
I will order and post pictures when I receive it.
I was just trying to let everyone know about the cool case I found
How does that Msrware case in any way equate to a TPU cover?
/edit, just realised he's a spammer.
A spammer? Man tough crowd, this is like one of my first actual posts cus I thought the case looked cool. Chill damn. Looks like Im never gonna post a thread again. I just was trying to get the word out. I will post pictures when I get the case...

I am a spammer? Please dont tell em your calling me a spammer? I am posting a thread about a case. Thats all. If you dont like it leave. I thought it was cool looking so I posted a thread. I have been part of XDA now for 2 years. My activity has been minimal but when I actually think to post something I get called a spammer?
Not cool man!

The post he's talking about is now deleted, and the poster is gone. These folks aren't necessarily talking about you. This same case has been posted multiple times by actual spammers, and your topic states "Best TPU Case so far" though you don't have it yet. By your activity on the site it's obvious to me that you're not spamming, though.
Oh ok, Sorry for my ignorance. I didnt know. But I will post pictures when I get it. I shouldnt have posted about this and named it best TPU case when i havent even received it yet. Sorry again community. My bad lol. Also I checked the first couple pages and didnt see a post about this case so I said Ill do it myself then lol.

Has anyone bought and received this case yet??
My case finally came after 3 weeks. I have a Nillkin case and screen protector on my Galaxy Nexus so I was expecting the same type of quality.
It's a great case and exactly what I expected.
The screen protector is cut very, very close so if you don't get it spot on, you will be getting bubbles anywhere it goes over the edge. I got it virtually perfect but had minor bubbling over one corner and the anal person in me just couldn't stand it so I simply sliced a little bit off with a pair of scissors and now it's perfect. It comes with a cloth and also a large sticker to remove dust particles stuck between the protector and screen during installation.
The case itself is glossy but tactile offering a good grip. It's neither particularly a fingerprint or dust magnet which is good. The 2 long edges are textured which I thought from the picture would have added more grip but it's actually the opposite. That's actually a good thing though allowing your fingers and hands to slide along the edges with ease when interacting with the screen instead of getting stuck. The fit is snug and does not cause the screen protector to lift up. The cutouts are big (for all the various holes plus the power/volume) so it should be no problem with various headphones or USB wires. It doesn't add much thickness to the device but still offers enough protection from scratches and minor bumps.
I could add pics but the ones from the website are accurate and do the case justice: http://www.nillkin.com/En/ProductView.asp?ID=2875
I got the black one and it looks really nice, especially from the front straight on as the case covers the silver bezel making the entire front all black. I definitely recommend this case. If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer any.

REVIEW GHOST GLASS screen protector by MIMEusa with video slideshow

Today we’re looking at the GHOST GLASS screen protector by MIMEusa.
This is a premium tempered glass screen protector and I literally just rub the screen sometimes because it's so smooth and clear.
Click here to see a video slideshow of Ghost glass and an overview of installation
Main advantage: real protection, responsive to finger and s-pen, easy install, smooth, clear, and priced very well
Main concern: NONE.
Unique features: hardness comparable to steel
Screen protectors are one of those necessary evils that we fight ourselves on with every phone purchase. We research and drool over the latest super phone with Gorilla Glass 2 screens and beautiful exteriors made of aluminum, ceramic, etc. We'll watch videos leading up to a phone's release that show people attacking the screen with keys, knives, nails, and more all without a scratch. Then after all that we purchase the phone and immediately buy cases, screen protectors, sleeves, holsters, everything we can possibly find to cover up the features we obsessed over and made us purchase the phone in the first place. It's an internal struggle that will go on and on until the first phone made completely out of unobtanium coated diamond is released. Since it's inevitable that we'll go through this, why not make the best of it?
I hadn't heard of MIMEusa before researching this article. They do one thing extremely well out of their New York City location. Mime is a team of engineers from two “major research universities” that are trying (read: succeeding) at creating the highest quality screen protector that I've seen to date. The GHOST GLASS is fingerprint resistant, has a technical hardness equal to steel, and a crystal clear and smooth surface that feels better than the Galaxy Note 2's stock screen. You heard correctly, this is an improvement over the screen that has shipped with over 10 million phones to date.
After install (which you can see more about in the video slideshow) the glass looks and feels like a ¼ inch thin sheet of ice has formed over your screen. The anti chip curved edges and perfectly measured button cutout complete the feeling of a really personalized experience. A lot of companies try to rush to market. You can tell when a screen protector is sloppily engineered to be close enough, this isn't that product. In fact, this couldn't be more perfectly measured for the Note 2. The edges extend just enough to cover but not interfere with any kind of case of bumper that might attach to the edge closely. The aforementioned button cutout doesn't leave a millimeter of space more than it needs. As odd as it sounds (and sometimes looks) I'll find myself just running my fingers along the screen while reading or staring off into space. It's that smooth.
The real reason that we buy a glass screen protector is the protection. If all goes well, during a naked drop with impact enough to break your screen, the protector should shatter and spare the screen. I don't have the resources to fully test this theory, but it seems plausible enough. A 1565 BHN / 9H Hardness rating are a bunch of numbers that show that MIME knows more than enough to make a great screen protector that I easily trust my own personal phone to everyday. 9H is one below the tops of 10H, this is the hardest glass screen protector I've seen on offer. All the protection comes without sacrifice too. No orange peel or rainbow effects, no touch screen dulling, not a single deterring factor. It's very affordable too under $30. MIME is making a strong attempt to win you over and it worked on me. I'll buy their protectors as long as our phones need them.
Until the inevitable day that Google or Apple turns cellphones into floating magnetic halos that project everything into our own personal conversation domes.
Thank you again to MIME for supplying their product for review.
Alternatives: Spigen Steinheil (4H hardness), Xgear Voyager 2 (8H hardness), Seidio Vitreo (9H hardness)
How much: $27.99 with free U.S. Shipping from mimeusa.com
Click here and scroll through the review to get the links to buy the product if you'd like
Is it worth buying: To top everything off, MIME has a Lifetime replacement program that allows you to get a new screen cover for 40% off if you ever find a way to break it. If you're ready to purchase, they are offering free shipping within the US with the code: 12238 at checkout. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE.
ENJOY YOUR GADGETS!
Why aren't you doing real video clips?
So, my comment about MIME. Considering we had a very long thread/discussion about their temp glass protectors with 20 pages and 190 replies and a lot of complains, I assume this is their new redesigned 2nd gen protector. What MIME failed to realize in their original design was that Note 2 screen is curved toward the edges, and because we are talking about 9H hard tempered glass rather than flexible PET film - it will NOT stick to the edges/corners and people had bubbles that didn't go away for weeks. And I remember people mentioning their return policy wasn't great either. Not sure if that has changed (regarding return policy), but they went ahead redesigning their screen protector back in early May, and now from these pictures I see its has a lot more margin from the edges of the display. That's the only right way to do it, following footsteps of Seidio VITREO for Note 2 (my person weapon of choice ). It's a challenge to make tempered glass for Note 2, and even Spigen hang their towel on it.
My question to snapz/Phil, please let us know when all the bubbles going to disappear and how does it stick to edges? I recently talk to someone in another forum who mentioned about still having problems with edges not sticking in a few places.
Mine personally went away within 3 days. I followed the directions carefully and I was very careful. I've used it with numerous cases and it worked great for a couple months of daily use before I had to remove it to test another screen protector.
All communication that I've personally had with Mime was great. Quick responses and clear dialogues back and forth. I can only speak to my own personal experiences through testing. I'm sure that if anyone had an issue and they attempted to calmly and professionally contact Mime and explain themselves clearly they would see a good response.
If you're one of the people who bought a Mime screen protector and didn't receive an acceptable response when you tried to contact them about an issue, then please share your experience here and I will personally talk to my contact and try to get an answer as to what happened.
I've been in contact with engineers, project managers, and CEOs in the past and most companies are very open to real clear honest input.
Regarding the style of video that I post. I can more easily control the quality of the images captured through photo rather than video. Perhaps in the future I'll change to live video, but for now I'm happy with the style I've chosen. I can get closer and use lighting to try to clearly illustrate everything I think you might want to see as a consumer.
I just ordered mine, can't wait to receive it & slap it on my phone, have heard nothing but good things about it, can't complain with the decent price though

This is a personal opinion and shouldn't be in a non-biased review. And I don't see how any glass product could have a hardness equal to steel.

My reviews reflect my personal feelings as a consumer after a thorough evaluation. I always do everything that I can to explore all angles and show the whole picture. That doesn't mean that I won't speak truth to you. I'm not a robot, I'm a person who owns and enjoys a Note 2 just like you. You will see my own opinions and ideas peppered throughout. If you don't appreciate my specific point of view than my reviews won't be for you unfortunately.
I'm not questioning any of that, but you clearly stated that this sp is an improvement over an naked screen you didn't say "I think" or "to me it feels", you stated it as a fact. If you want to voice your personal opinions the tell is they are your opinions, but refrain from certainties.

Got mine in today
I tried to upload pics of the package contents & the protector itself, but the stupid app's acting up & not letting me
Aside from that I installed the protector & am loving it, it's really smooth & has awesome screen clarity, it adheres to the screen really well on its own & was really easy to install. I don't have much experience with glass screen protectors as this is my first, but I highly recommend it to all of you, if you guys have any questions regarding the protector, feel free to ask me, I'll answer & help out with as much as I can

I think more people have issue with some screen protectors that don't allow the s-pen to glide across the screen during use. It will register the pen's contact because it works through magnet I believe, just isn't pleasant or easy to work with. Some matte screen protectors or those with anti fingerprint coatings can cause the pen to "stick" a bit at times from some posts that I've read.
Then just say that instead of saying that the spen won't work with cheap screen protectors. All it takes is 1 misleading post and you'll have 50 people out there swearing the the spen won't work with this sp or that sp.

Seidio Vitreo Vs Mime Ghost

So now that the tempered glass screen protector of mime has been redesigned, which of the 2 do you think is better?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I can only speak from my experience of VITREO which I still consider hands down the best I spoke with a few people who had original Mime, got annoyed with edges not sticking down and some bubbles still there, and after receiving 2nd gen replacement from Mime (bigger side margin now for less contact with curved edge of N2) they still find edges are not sticking down completely along the whole perimeter. I haven't tested it for a simple reason because I don't want to take my VITREO off.
In my opinion, if you want to save some money, Mime Ghost is a good alternative to VITREO. I wonder if anybody who tried both can compare and give us their opinion. I would imagine there gotta be someone who had Mime and removed it to replace with VITREO.
And btw, VITREO is not exactly bullet proof. I put that tempered glass through hell doing a ton of testing with different cases and accessories. Frankly speaking, I toss it around with keys, tools, etc. After all this time, I see some hairline scratches, something that would have shredded even the best 3H PET film screen protector. And it still feels like a pure smooth transparent glass.

I have to agree. VITREO is so great, that I just can't imagine anything else even coming close. It's not coming off my phone, probably ever.
To be fair, I haven't tested the Mime either. I did post a review on Amazon with my thoughts about the VITREO, and my preferred installation method. Check it out if you're interested. http://www.amazon.com/review/R3H9GVMW6IILGD/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
Havent used the Mime so I cant compare the two, but had the Vitreo and would recommend it. Installation was simple, just requires patience. I took mine off about four times to get it exactly where I wanted. Never had any lifting issues, and no bubbles under the screen. Looked and felt great. Mine busted this past week tho. Was about 6 feet up on some scaffolding taking some photos of a job site. Guy behind me bumped me and my phone went flying, landing screen down and skid across the concrete slab. The Vitreo was damaged, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Took it off and my phone screen was still good as new. Already ordered a new one from Amazon.

I have to agree. The Vitreo was the easiest to install. No bubbles ect. and performs very well.
I'm using mime, the first version. It has been great. I work a physically demanding job and drop my phone on concrete about three times a month, for about a year. It did finally crack just recently, but I can tell the phone screen is in good shape. The screen protector also looks good but I can see and feel the crack. I just emailed mime for filing a warranty claim and they sent me a code to order a new one at 40% off, total about $16. Everything was fast and easy. This phone is durable as hell with the right protection, I'm using the mime screen protector with the seidio active case, which don't add a lot of bulk.

Artech21 Little Rock Case Review

If your looking for a good case that comes in some very nice colors and offers really great protection check this case out.
i embedded the video but its not working for me so i also linked it
i'm sorry everybody i havent tried to use xda to make money was just trying to pass on info about this case.
i guess posting a youtube link is affiliate spam also since it was removed?
Mod edit: Affiliate spam removed.
Do not use XDA as a means to make money.
Was kinda interested when I looked at amazon link but after seeing a few videos I dont like the looks. Has a cheap plastic look with the color and shine.
And my first thought about your video, Why did you rip the port covers off (destroy feature of case) before the review? LOL. Only saying because port covers are a must for me.

I got Artech21 case. Compared to the Otterbox I think the materials are better. I have a Defender I bought in late Aug when I got my Note 5 and as usual the innershell squeaks and the outer rubber has begun to loosen. The Artech21 is a harder outer shell and doesn't deform.
I hate the screen protector on the Artech 21 but it's still better than the Otterbox because it does fit a bit closer to the screen. I have two Artech's so one I ripped out the protector and use tempered glass and the other I left the protector on it.
Thank you for the review. I used code Artech21 for a 20% discount on Amazon. I echo your thoughts. I didn't like the screen cover but it was easy to pry out. This case protects the phone and feels good in the hand. I also like the way the buttons still have a "click". I don't mind the headphone and USB covers so I left them on.

Ghostek atomic 2.0 reviews?

Thinking of getting one of these cases, anyone got one?
I've looked at loads of YouTube videos and stuff.
Just want more good news before I spend £50 pounds on a case.

Hello,
This has been posted before but here are the links and some information after having used for a while:
Case is good as provides a full around. It has good protection on sides and back but front by personal experience as you can see from other post.
I would recommend having a Tempered Glass Screen Protector like GPEL as from experience the film doesn't due justice on protecting phone if it Falls Screen Down. I had the GPEL installed and phone fell face down, the TGSP got a small crack that I didn't notice until later on when it spread. So ok protector but should be good with a TGSP.
Sensitivity is good and no big problem when using phone with both the TGSP and film that comes with the case. There might be a 5% drop but I've rarely or not have noticed it much.
