Ghostek atomic 2.0 reviews? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Thinking of getting one of these cases, anyone got one?
I've looked at loads of YouTube videos and stuff.
Just want more good news before I spend £50 pounds on a case.

Hello,
This has been posted before but here are the links and some information after having used for a while:
Case is good as provides a full around. It has good protection on sides and back but front by personal experience as you can see from other post.
I would recommend having a Tempered Glass Screen Protector like GPEL as from experience the film doesn't due justice on protecting phone if it Falls Screen Down. I had the GPEL installed and phone fell face down, the TGSP got a small crack that I didn't notice until later on when it spread. So ok protector but should be good with a TGSP.
Sensitivity is good and no big problem when using phone with both the TGSP and film that comes with the case. There might be a 5% drop but I've rarely or not have noticed it much.

[Video] Extensive Rearth Ringke Case Review

Rearth had sent me a case to do a review as well as gather feedback for their product from the XDA community.
I'm aware that there are many other Nexus Ringke picture threads already posted, as well as Ploone's video; however, I thought this video went into a little bit more detail, and was worth creating another thread in case anyone was interested and didn't want to go digging through posts.
Rearth is being very proactive regarding improving their case, so if you guys see anything that you like, don't like, or wish that could be added, then feel free to leave some feedback so that we could see it in their season 2 case. (Ex. one thing that I've mentioned before, is possibly adding some texture design to the back of the case)
Here's the link to my video review. I can take pictures on request, but there are already plenty of Ringke picture threads available.
[no advertising websites either in print or speech within videos]
Very detailed video - you convinced me to grab the case.
Have you tried their screen protector? If so, how is it?
I liked it and found it to perform well. Fitment was 98% there. I applied the protector on perfectly but still had a 0.5 mm screen lift on the top edge. I had it on for about a week and found it to be a good protector. I had to take it off because I accidentally creased it while playing basketball. I can't compare how it performs against other screen protectors because I've only used this and ghost armor.

Aww awesome. Thanks for the reply.
I've heard that they purposely make the screen protector a bit shorter because of the shape of the Nexus S screen.
I guess I'll find out when it comes in in a couple of weeks.

Best choice for film screen protector

Now that my S7 Edge has shipped I'm in a rush to get a case and screen protector. I've never had an Edge device before and it seems like most people hate film type protectors, but that's all that's really out right now. What's the best one to get until something better comes along?
Hands down its the SuperShieldz one. I've tried Skinomi, Ilumeshield, and Spigen but they can't compare to the SuperShieldz. People have been asking me for pictures so I'll post them up this afternoon when I get home fromnrh gym. I did a quick review on Amazon which I'll link below, but it's great! I bought another set as a backup for later just in case.

Fitment doesn't look that great in your pictures, what's with the 1/8" gap at the bottom corners? Or is that a common issue with these edge devices?
I found this one with good reviews but it looks like they're mostly from tablets.

You have to remember how they need to cut these in order to have them wrap correctly. It's not possible to have one that will cover anything without some compromises. I did take more pictures which I need to upload (I'll post them shortly). The screen protector does cover 99% of the screen unlike my Spigen which only covered ~70-80%

Fair enough. Maybe I'll buy these and the ones I linked to since they're both cheap and see which is better.
Great, no one has anything in stock and my phone is going to be here in a couple days. Not even the case I want is in stock, have to get two so one comes in time.

Yea, and imagine living in Canada, where shipping is expensive/long from the US and there's very limited choices in Canada ?
I should have ordered last week. Figured I'd have more time with Verizon lagging behind on the pre-orders.
I just ordered some XtremeGuard screen protectors because of the huge sale, no clue when they'll get here. There's nothing on Amazon with Prime that I can order, guess I'll have to keep the plastic on it that it comes with until I get the protectors.

You can ignore my slightly misaligned install. I was in a hurry (which is usually a bad idea when installing screen protectors), so it would be perfect if I installed my second one that came in the pack.
Here are some pictures:

I bought it from tmobile store cause it was all they had but it gets bubbles at top no matter what due to the installation process. Waste of $25 and neither tmo or the maker would give me refund

Can you use a case with the screen proctector? Does it go all the way to the edge?

Well considering I'm using my Tech 21 case in that picture yes you can. I've tested it with all of my cases (see my OP in this forum) it works fine. You do have to be care with some cases and lift their 'lip' so it sits on top of the protector when inserting your phone so it won't pull it up, but once you do that there are 0 issues. That's the +/- of having a E2E screen protector for the top/bottom and sides. I'll post more of my case reviews this evening so you can see how it fits in my 7-8 cases

All,
I got the supershieldz as well. Here are a few of my observations. The film has two protective coats that have to be removed. One is the sticky side that gets applied to the screen. The second is a pin film that is on the touch side. This one was a pain to remove. To get a good fit. I removed the side and place it on the phone then took the stick tabs and aligned the bottom and top to the phone. once it was aligned I worked from a corner to pull off the pink film. its a royal pain. the paper tab comes off at times but I made it work. Once the pink film is removed I used a card to smooth out the film or any bubbles. This film is very thin and feels sticky at first but this will go away after a few minutes of use. The film will mark up easily if you have long nails. Also, it does tend to bunch up if you put on a case. This was the case with the otterbox commuter, spigen tough, vrs case and UAG. But I was able to adjust them easily. The good news is that I have been using the phone for over a week now and no lifting. I had the s6 and used spigen and finally gave up. But this one is working well.

I agree, the install is a huge PITA, but the end result is well worth it. As I mentioned cases do work you just have to ensure their lip doesn't bunch it up when putting the phone in. If you read the directions you would've seen where it said gently press out the big bubbles with the included card wrapped in a microfiber cloth. I did this and didn't have any issues getting it to install correctly despite my slight misalignment.

True Bumper Case

i didn't see this posted anywhere else......
i found this on amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Bumper...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
gotta say i was impressed, but when u apply it, u need to put it on straight, not at an angle, or the buttons wont align properly.
included some pics
I always contemplated that case but I had 2 concerns 1) does it affect your reception while on and 2) would it lift a rear screen protector

my reception seems the same, and i don't have a rear screen protector, just a front... and my front one is a case friendly armorsuit currently. i was just glad it wasnt one of those fake bumpers that actually just have a clear back on em.
I purchased that one from Amazon and another from AliExpress with a slightly different design. Verizon is my carrier and both cases negatively affected my reception, by 20 or so dBm. In my office this is the difference between being able to get 4G over 3G...and at home it knocks a bar off. Additionally the GPS/Compass seems to be occasionally affected. Since installation Waze (I use daily) occasionally loses compass direction when the car stops. The map will spin, recalculate, and then correct once I get moving again.
Outside of that they look and feel great. They add just enough width that I'm not accidentally touching the edge screen when I'm putting down and picking up my phone.
I would like to keep using mine, because of that Im going to start cutting slots into the frame where I believe the antenna's are to see if receptions improves. If I ruin the bumper or reception does not improve, no big loss...the one from Aliexpress cost me 10 bucks shipped.

I've never seen those before, they look pretty nice. I went ahead and emailed them, they have one for the S7, maybe one for the Edge is in the works?
@mixxxk can you comment on the "case friendliness" of that protector? I'm considering switching to it from the Zagg HD Dry since it interferes with some of my favorite cases.

The above link is correct, after what seems like I've tried a million protectors, company's started releasing "case friendly" variants... the best IMO is the armorsuit or iq shield. No lifting or peeling. I used a hair dryer to help the healing process and left it case free overnight.

A bumper only makes sense for some phones, but with the glass back on the S7 I think protecting the back is important.

I agree. I purchased the bumper hoping it would make the phone easier to handle and protect the metal frame of the phone from scratches. Impact protection is not something I expect from it.

I heard back from Rhinoshield, it doesn't look like we will get a bumper from them. See their response below.
"Hi Ariel,
Thank you for your interest in our product.
Unfortunately, due to the s7 Edge's contoured sides, it is looking quite unlikely that we will be able to do products for it.
We hope you will one day have a phone for which we can provide the best protection there is
Have a great day.

what brand of bumper are you using, didn't see and logo or brand marking.
Which color bumper frame will match best for the silver Galaxy S7 Edge?
1) silver
2) Black
3) Gunmetal
4) red
Which would you choose for the silver phone?

Suggestions for screen protector

Decided I shouldn't go without a screen protector, looks like the tempered glass ones won't work well because the screen in curved on the edges. Anyone have experience with or can recommend a good one? I often see suggestions on here that I couldn't find on my own and I'm thinking one of you guys can help.
By the way i went with this case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M15T2I3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
I like it except that the camera and volume buttons aren't cut outs. It fits the phone well.
I appreciate any suggestions.
Same boat as you. The ones offered Amazon all seem to complain about them being too thin, bezel to bezel.
The only one that I have found for the phone that fits properly so far is listed below. It's not glass but works great.

Nillkin has crappy cases for F5321 that offer little more than scratch protection, and you're incessant advertising for them across the all the device boards is obvious, so you can hardly be considered objective. Please go troll your mother and go away. There are people here looking for serious solutions.

I decided to go with the Skinomi as well, put it on my XC yesterday. Very happy with the results, it's been a while since I have used a non-tempered glass screen protector and for some reason I was expecting the touch screen to be hard to use and the experience generally unpleasant. This wasn't the case and it fits perfectly. recommended.

I saw those but have seen to many negative things about G Color protectors to ever try one out myself. Lots of videos on youtube about them being crap.
I got these ones from ebay and they're a perfect fit. Quite easy to apply and cover right to the edge of the curved screen.
Worthwhile watching the video before starting. It's been on a few weeks now and no finger marks and the feel is good

I ordered one of those g color protectors yesterday. I'll be that guy that tests it. Should get it sunday. If its moot I'll try that skinomi one. I kinda want the skinomi one just for the rear protector.
edit: Ok got it in yesterday. Packaging was nice and it came with the normal included things. Putting it on was kind of a pain in the ass. This was mostly contributed to the curved screen but it is doable with some patience. I messed up putting it on the first time and lifted it up gently and repositioned it. The adhesive was just as sticky as the first time so there is room for error. I have a cheap jelly case off amazon on it currently until my devil case comes in from overseas but it does not have any conflict with the screen protector as long as you get it on next to perfect.
Clarity is good except for one small small detail and another really annoying detail. The small detail is you can see a line around the boarder between the glass and the "carbon fiber". While annoying I can understand that it's 2 different materials and I don't see how you couldn't have that problem. The really annoying one is it cuts off some pixels on both sides of the screen. It isn't really noticeable until i use reddit sync which then when viewing the comments it becomes apparent. It kinda irritates me but for the moment I'd rather have a couple of blocked off pixels then the screen exposed.
I give it a 6/10 mostly because of the cut off pixels. If it wasn't for that my initial rating would be more of a 8 or a 9/10. I will comment later on down the road if I experience the adhesive pulling up.

Lol, I am positive I saw your review on Amazon when I left mine (we also have the same case). Anyhow, although I disagree with the installation, I agree with everything else. Installation for me was slightly confusing, but really easy once I understood what to do. Air bubbles were a pain to get out, but that's to be expected. As for the quality, it's perfectly fine except for your two points. Mostly your second point: the pixel cutoff. While definitely bearable and not very noticeable most of the time, in certain apps it really is irritatingly noticeable. I would have to recommend against getting this screen protector and waiting until a better one comes out. I'm keeping it on until I find a really good case and/or a better glass screen protector.
Has anyone tried the Nillkin "Amazing H tempered glass screen protector"? Would really like to know if it's any good because I enjoy their frosted case.
Looks like Devilcase now offers a curved glass screen protector: http://www.twdevilcase.com/en/index.php?menu=prod_detail&mid=21&did=7&pid=5280&list=class
BTW, their case for this phone is really thick. Not as stylish as their early, asymmetrical cases :/

I got these ones from ebay and they're a perfect fit. Quite easy to apply and cover right to the edge of the curved screen.
Worthwhile watching the video before starting. It's been on a few weeks now and no finger marks and the feel is good

This is not great, but is the best I've found so far. It's not got perfect adhesion on the edges, but I've tried the super soft screen protector, flat glass and curved glass with glue only on the edges so dirt gets under it. I'd love to find a curved glass one that has glue all over it instead of just a tiny but around the edges.
I'm also looking for a curved screen protector that "glues" properly (direct contact) to the entire screen, not just the edges.
It doesn't have to be tempered glass either, simple cheap TPU would work fine.
The ebay one mentioned above doesn't ship outside of UK, so it's no good for me.

I have a problem with that screen protector, it turns proximity sensor always on, so you can't access the phone in call.
When I removed the devilcase curved glass screen protector, the proximity sensor starts to work again.
Seems that roxfit screen protector has similar issue.

Oneplus official silicone case problem

The case attracts a lot of dust whenever I put it in my pocket. I used it for a little bit before the dust problem got really annoying and i bought another tpu case on amazon. Any fixes for the dust problem? I really love the feel of the case and the cutouts are better than the TPU so I want to use it.
Me too facing the same problem, but I have lost that cover. Any idea where to find the official one? It is not available on the website.
hey guys is it true that case is responsible for some negative effect on the matte finish?the matte finish is coming off after using it for around 2-3 weeks?
I've just got the phone this week and I've ordered a ringke onyx case for the phone. I think its best to stay away from the offical case that comes with the phone just to be on the safe side as some users here experienced paint chipping after using the case provided inside the box.
I got the 5t the day it came out and used that stock Silicon case for about 2 months without any sign of paint chipping. It did collect dust like a vacuum. I got 4-5 cases on AliExpress for under $5 each and they too have dust problems. the one I use has a clear plastic back, so I can see it all of the time.
Did drop my phone today and scratched the stock film cover. Pulled it back and it didn't damage the screen, but now I get to research the best film screen, since the last time I researched it, there was no good tempered glass one that didn't have issues

In the tempered glass topic, the topace brand was recommended. But the gadgetshieldz looks good too.

I primarily use this case, and without getting a ruler out, there is about 1/16" on the top of bottom and about 1/32" on the sides with the stock film. (or as much as the coverage past the screen of the stock film)
Ironically, the first link for topace on amazon is a film, not a glass and the glass product has 1 poor review.

If you mean the official OnePlus case, no, i have not experienced any chipping of the phone after using the official case. Currently used for a month already.

The way they did the curved screen on both OP5 Models made nearly all glass screen protectors on the market not very good at fitting. Even the official ones from Oneplus themselves were whack. I tried loads. Best of a bad bunch were the orzly ones, but even those weren't perfect. The phone itself just makes it impossible.

Yes, from what I had read, the orzly and NILLKIN were the best glass, but the edges were the issue.
I used to have some various cheap glass protectors on my S4 and never had the issues people are noting on the various glass protectors for the 5t - reduced touch sensitivity, rainbow effect, hot spots, etc
Honestly, though I have gotten descent at installing screen protectors, I despise putting them on and getting everything perfect, so I am trying to do as much research before hand, so hopefully I only have to do it once.
I got the OnePlus glass when I got the phone, but read the initial reviews and had planned just to keep the stock film on, as it seemed to be doing a good job until I dropped in in the backyard and damaged the film about 1" down and 1" in from the right.

Yes, there's definitely no ideal way to do it. This is why I personally prefer the flat screened phones, as they have none of these issues.
Pity in a way that curved screen phones have become a fad this past year. Last decent looking one that I was tempted to get was the Razer Phone for gaming. (That one's completely flat screen, and generally looked like quite a decent smartphone for alot of other reasons too). It's been out for a while though now, and haven't got round to it yet, but I still might. In the meantime, I'll just struggle on with my OnePlus until it dies (or more likely, 'til my screen breaks!) haha
sorry to hear about you dropping yours though,. that must've been harsh. was it just the film that got damaged, or did any of the actual device's screen underneath get hit?

Yea, about 4ft drop when pushing my kids in the swing to the dirt and debris that settled under the leaves (that I had just moved so they could use the swing for the first time this year.
I was trying to take pictures of them and dropped it
I dug my finger under the corner and peeled back the screen protector past the damage and the screen was clear. It's almost like a rock dug up the surface of the film

Phew! That was close! (it's always a bit unsettling when you see the cracks in a screen protector). With protectors also being transparent, at first it often looks like it's gone right through to the actual screen, until the moment of truth when you remove it afterwards.. (I've had a few scares like that in my time! So I feel ya!) But is a satisfying feeling of relief when you pull the protector off and everything looks good as new underneath.
Anyways, glad you got lucky that time aswell! So far so good!
after 2 months my phone is completely ruined by this case. I should have changed the case earlier.
