Camera APK that will work at low LCD densities? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone know of a Camera.apk that will not FC at LCD densities below 182?
Is there a hack that can be otherwise applied to make it work?
Thanks!
PS: I am currently using the attached APK from MIUI, and it is working great under Overcome 1.6.3... however, it lacks 720p recordign support, hence my request...

The tab can't do 720p so you can stick with the miui if you like it.

I don't know how you did it, but with the official camera.apk I can only get 720*480. So it's not 720p for me.

Yes GTAB doesn`t record HD 720 only the above resolution. My apk camera works only on density 200 not below

I stand corrected! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/720p
I gotta brush up on my HD nomenclature.

We know what 720p is. But the fact is the galaxy tab can only do 720*480 and not 1280*720. So it definitly not 720p.

With Lgcamera app you can record 800x480 _ h264 compression in mp4 format. And ... by the way Galaxy tab is able to record in 720p if you know how to modify camera app, build some libs and compile a kernel.

720p Recording experiment...

Anyone willing to try installing the Camera.apk from the Galaxy S Froyo update on the tab to see if we can't get some 720p recording???...
Or send me the file I'm willing to try it!
Isnt anyone interested in hacking the tab to record 720p?

I thought the Tab already records in 720p
I'm pretty sure it's possible: my iPhone 3Gs is patched to do 720p at 30fps with no problems whatsoever. I assume it uses the iPhone 4's camera drivers. If the 3Gs can be patched to use the iPhone 4's drivers when they aren't even running the same hardware then I assume that this would be pretty simple for someone who knew what they were doing. As far as I'm aware the Galaxy S and Tab run the same hardware other than their screen and camera spec.
Would be a nice feature to have and a big step up from 720X480. inassume Samsung left it out because they didn't want the Tab to outdo the Galaxy.

It records through the Camera/Video functionality after patched, at 720P
technically, the len of tab is capeable of capturing 720p, the limitation was implimented in rom

Here you go,Works perfect for me.
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-iPod-Converter.htm
Change the preset to: Apple iPod 5G Video (320x240)
change the quality to high for better picture but takes a lil longer to convert but works fine on the phone
Lol ok maybe I worded the question wrong. I have win avi. I wanted to put some movies on my phone. I used the settings for htc under mobile devices but, the way I understand it, our phones are capable of running the same quality video as the ipod touch. That's basically my question..? What resolution and what audio codec should I use to watch my movies on my phone?

Different video player from dk27 to eb13

I didn't really use DK27 very much but I remember the stock video player had the ability to bookmark videos and the stock player on eb13 doesn't seem to be able to do that. That kinda seems like a downgrade but maybe it'll make the player work smoother. Are any more of the stock apps changed from dk27?

Streaming HD on Galaxy Tab, possible ?

Hello everybody !
I'am interested to buy a Galaxy Tab but wondering if we can watch HD streaming from own3d.tv, if someone here please may test and watching a live for testing and tell me if it works very well, would be very nice!
Many thanks!
Streaming 720p on youtube is working fine, so I suppose it's also working here. I can't test this site right now because my connection is slow at work.
Edit : I must add it's on gingerbread, on froyo it lags as hell.

If you can test when you back to home, would be very nice, because I really want to be sure. I found a used galaxy tab for 250 euros on the net and he waits for my answer back
Not before 8PM GMT.

Galaxy Tab has a tegra chip in which struggles to stream 1080p.
Galaxy S II plays very well

Don't know about 720p though. That might play smoothly on the Galaxy Tab

DK206 : don't talk about what you don't know please. I know you just want to help but that will lead into desinformation. Galaxy tab 7" has a hummingbird cpu and powervr sgx540 gpu.

How to capture on-screen video?

does anybody know how to capture video on Lg Optimus 2X? Screencast app doesnt work with tegra 2. are there any other options pls?
I have no idea what you're talking about or how to help you, but it might be nice to post some more info like for example what ROM you are using and kernel.
Well, i think Rom and Kernel dont matter here, i just need to know if there is any chance of recording video (of what im right doing on my phone) and i said i know there is a program for it (called ScreenCast, but this programm doesnt work with Tegra2/3 devices). So my question is, is there any other way to record like that?

eraldo I had trouble understanding what his objective is too, but I think I understand now... he wants to record video of what he's doing on the phone... like fraps for the PC.
You'll have to make due with screenshots I guess...
Tegra 2 does not support NEON, and does not manage the display via a framebuffer so screen video capture isn't possible.

Tablets are different and your device obviously uses a frambuffer the o2x does not, however tegra 2 doesn't support NEON at all.
You may use Droid Explorer or Android VNC Server, for getting video by usb cable on your PC. But for this method frame rate is very low.
I use screen recording software to do that. It is not only able to record onscreen video, but also can take screenshots.
