How to capture on-screen video? - LG Optimus 2x

does anybody know how to capture video on Lg Optimus 2X? Screencast app doesnt work with tegra 2. are there any other options pls?

I have no idea what you're talking about or how to help you, but it might be nice to post some more info like for example what ROM you are using and kernel.

Well, i think Rom and Kernel dont matter here, i just need to know if there is any chance of recording video (of what im right doing on my phone) and i said i know there is a program for it (called ScreenCast, but this programm doesnt work with Tegra2/3 devices). So my question is, is there any other way to record like that?

eraldo I had trouble understanding what his objective is too, but I think I understand now... he wants to record video of what he's doing on the phone... like fraps for the PC.
You'll have to make due with screenshots I guess...

Tegra 2 does not support NEON, and does not manage the display via a framebuffer so screen video capture isn't possible.

Argh :X, thats too bad, i will have to buy a Camera. But thanks for answer guys

Tablets are different and your device obviously uses a frambuffer the o2x does not, however tegra 2 doesn't support NEON at all.

You may use Droid Explorer or Android VNC Server, for getting video by usb cable on your PC. But for this method frame rate is very low.

I use screen recording software to do that. It is not only able to record onscreen video, but also can take screenshots.

Lol ok maybe I worded the question wrong. I have win avi. I wanted to put some movies on my phone. I used the settings for htc under mobile devices but, the way I understand it, our phones are capable of running the same quality video as the ipod touch. That's basically my question..? What resolution and what audio codec should I use to watch my movies on my phone?

Camera APK that will work at low LCD densities?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone know of a Camera.apk that will not FC at LCD densities below 182?
Is there a hack that can be otherwise applied to make it work?
Thanks!
PS: I am currently using the attached APK from MIUI, and it is working great under Overcome 1.6.3... however, it lacks 720p recordign support, hence my request...
The tab can't do 720p so you can stick with the miui if you like it.

We know what 720p is. But the fact is the galaxy tab can only do 720*480 and not 1280*720. So it definitly not 720p.

With Lgcamera app you can record 800x480 _ h264 compression in mp4 format. And ... by the way Galaxy tab is able to record in 720p if you know how to modify camera app, build some libs and compile a kernel.

MHL Videos with Subtitles[SOLVED]

Well. S4 is quite powerfull for our device and well. Its kinda useless unless you do something that requires that firepower. Well Sony has put a great H/W mhl chip and it can interpolate the screen to FullHD if you have proper cable and tv. Watching Hd movies is a pleasure but only sometimes. I know English and i dont need subtitles. But when i wana watch a film with my family. And its full HD. I cant. S/W decoding lacs and it shows subtitles. H/W is perfect and smooth but Sony didnt make subtitles to be shown over H/W decoding on the big screen. Have anyone found a way to show subtitles ?
So the solution is to download VLC for Android and enable Hardware acceleration in options. It plays 1080p uncomressed videos perfectly and supports subtitles over the MHL cable

And I believe it's got nothing to do with Sony, it's a limitation of the technology, because Dice player offers an expliciely stated experimental feature for subtite output via hdmi. I'd have to check if its for Samsung devices only though, I believe I remember the option saying that.
Side question: most fullhd tvs feature a usb port nowadays anyway, why not use that and play your stuff directly on the tv if the technology doesnt seem to be really there...?

Dude thats imposible( i havent found a way)
Nope, it's not the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Relationship_with_MHL
Different connector, different wireing, different (altered) protocol. Nope, not the same.
Well it's not possible on your phone but you have a PC. There's plenty of tools to be found in the allmighty internet allowing you to easily overlay the subtitles onto your existing video. They will be a part of the "images" then though. Depending on the firepower at your disposal, such an encode takes somwhere between 10-30 minutes per movie for a typical hollywood blockbuster.

Yep. Well i asked a person who edits videos and he said that it cant be hardcoded. Butt. thanks for the info. Although I really want sony to implement subtitles over MHL. And i mean there is no difference if i say HDMI or MHL. MHL is a convertor and it decodes colors different way. But it has aboslutly the same posibilities.

I think miracast is in 4.2
Well, I looked up here in xda and on the internet and found nothing conclusive regarding Miracast on 4x HD. So, Tegra 3 supports it and our device is already on 4.2 builds...does anyone knows what is missing?
Dev in this thread claimed to have ported the feature from Optimus G but link is down since last July despite many people reporting the issue.
And when I say "nothing conclusive" I mean that I couldn't find any article saying "yes, you should be able to use it" or "no, 4x HD doesn't support it".
Strange....

Thanks for sharing the guide...my tv has native miracast support, and the issue here is that there's no "enable miracast" option on the stock JB or even in cm10 roms. Since the tegra 3 officially supports it, I believe it's only a lack of software issue.

Software. Tegra drivers are cloed source, we work with what we get from the nexus updates, which means we don't have full compatibility since despite some similarities the're two entirely different devices
