Where to buy genuine HTC HD2 battery? - HD2 Accessories

Anyone have any idea where I can order the genuine battery for the HD2? My stock battery is dying and it would be awesome if I can get a brand new one that performs well. So far, I ordered two of those Chinese imitation batteries from two different sellers and they have the same serial number haha. They don't hold nearly as much charge as they should. Any suggestions?

Well, there is the obvious. T-Mobile sells them...

I got one from Amazon. It doesn't say HTC on it but same battery.

If you take a look at the reviews, it is NOT an OEM battery.

Yeah that's why I mentioned not having HTC branding. I figured he mainly wanted something just like the original battery but not a generic Chinese rip off.

Thanks. I tried. T-Mobile doesn't carry HD2 accessories anymore. Still haven't found one. Those imitation HTC batteries don't work that well. They heat up very quickly when charging and don't seem to hold as much charge.

I think I found it

Yes, it says UK but they ship to USA/wherever you are.
And Yes, they are sold out at the moment, wait for restock.

Well, I'm using the Andida batteries. They are marked 1600 but actually run at the same capacity as stock. They work the same for me.

Hate to quote myself but this link is valid. I ordered one the other day and it arrived today. It does have the HTC branding and is the exact same battery (P/N also) as my HD2 battery.
A reviewer on the site said they got one without the branding. I read that after I had ordered. Doh! But I got a genuine battery.

is the mould 100% same on this battery & the wrapping cut & folded the same.
Also look at print for matching size & quality.
Most batteries at that price will not be original but if lucky it will be quite good battery in a HTC copy wrapper.
Another way to tell is get other buyers to forward the serial of battery, copies only have a few differing serials at best & normally just one.

Haha... now I'm worried about copy wrappers.
Original battery on the left and new one from Amazon link on the right. (I'm pretty sure... could have gotten them backwards). I'll go dig around for their serial numbers online and see what I find.

Hard to tell from that image. compare moulding on edges & how wrapper is folded around. Also look at water label & contacts. Original battery contacts are quality copper & look a bit satin if look at an angle but look shiny when view straight, copy batteries normally have a cheaper coated contact which is shiny at all viewing angles.
If it performs ok & charges without getting over hot don't worry about it too much.

They look exactly identical in every single aspect. So much so that I wouldn't know which was the originial if I hadn't taken a pic. No heat issues and I've been abusing the Netflix app testing both batteries.

You got a battery with the correct markings; at that price point, it is almost certainly a Chinese relacement. Be sure and report back after three charge cycles with the measured capacity.

We usually get what we pay for... so I wouldn't bet against you. I do plan on testing it under my normal usage after a few charge cycles and see how it does. I'm a medium to heavy user of batteries.

Just found that on ebay Germany, it has overheat protection aswell the CE quality sign.

I'm a little leary; the photo says 1500, but the description says 1300...

Original batteries are heavier than these cheap rip-offs. They use the copy wrapper to mask their lesser capacity.

Some copy HTC batteries will be same weight or even heavier.
I have a fake HTC battery that I picked up for my Touch Pro, slightly heavier & performs as good as original but probably not for as long as original cell.
problem with copies is quality goes from trash to almost on par with original but with not much way of telling what you are going to get.
I went for a compact USB power pack as got bored of looking at fake HTC batteries & official HTC retail outlet prices can be ridiculous, plus swapping, booting & charging 2 cells is a pain at times.

I got mine from Seidio on Monday; not a miracle battery but definitley better life than OEM. If you don't like the hunch-back look and want a second battery this is the way to go. I would extimate that it is giving me roughly 10% better life as they advertise.

Seidio battery may give a smidge more life; build is pretty poor though, and seems to be made of some paper-like or cardboard/plastic material, covered with not very well-fitting cellophane. If you never remove your battery, may not be an issue, but I suspect this one wouldn't take very many change-outs without getting rather worn. Also seems like it heats up a bit more...

Their batteries are pretty cheap. Rating from Reseller Rating is quite good too.
I am using 2 of these and they work real nice, very high quality batteries comes sealed in shrink wrap plastic which prevents air and moisture from getting into these batteries that kills it's ultimate capacity. Lasts longer than my original one from sprint... I tried those cheap $10 or less batteries before and their capacity fluctuate wildly, don't get those, these are nice, check out my rating:

Hi...
I need a couple of new high capacity batteries with a high mAh rating.
Do any of you have info on the best place to buy ?
Id rather purchase from a European vendor but will consider importing worldwide.
TIA.

i just bought a 3600mAh mugen off ebay. works great my first week using it. i get between a 1.5 and 2 days of usage where previously, i'd be dead by 9pm of day 1.
what size battery is that ?
I forgot to mention that I need a regular sized battery, IE one without a new battery cover.
...so it fits into my case.
If it is regular size, what's the name of the ebay seller ?
TIA.

It's also called the Dopod S1 or p3450 on dealextreme. The battery will fit but the back cover won't. You'll have to find one on ebay or amazon for the fitting back cover for the vogue/xv6900
Well my original battery seems just fine, but is a couple of years old so I thought I'd order one of these as a backup. Well, long story short, I decided that at less the 3 bones a piece I'd order 2, just in case one was bad. It took about 10 days to get my order (slow boat from China and all), but they arrived today and work just great!
I don't know how the hell it can be profitable to ship 2 batteries from Hong Kong to Iowa for under 6 bucks, but I'm not complaining!

I got a extended battery, it's 2000mAh of pure energy...your phone will look pregnant once you put this bad boy in, but the performance is well worth it. It has battery with case, it usually lasts me the whole day (7am - 10pm) and that's with moderate to heavy use, gps on, data on, gmail on, as well as other email accounts that pool approx 6x a day. You can Google "2000mah, vogue battery" & it should pop up...happy hunting!

Where to buy OEM replacement battery for our Athenas?

my OEM battery is a goner, due natural aging.
got 2 after market ebay batteries, they sucks big time, they were fine for the first 2~3 weeks, but now one of them died already
the plastic casing they come in, are made of poor material, and broke down already after your regular swap in/out of a daily normal use.
i want to get some OEM battery for our device, but i can not find it anyways, even the ones sold on those "trusted" e-stores are the fake replicas from the same sources of ebay.
they do not have the latch for the red button, and the 3 teeth pin is made of plastic instead of metal.
i want to keep using my device, but it wont last much longer without a decent battery.

will we see extended battery's?

I don't really know much about how easy replacing phones with bigger battery's, but is it likely that htc will sell a bigger power battery for the hd7 ie 1500 or something?
I've seen regualr replacement batterys for the HD7 advertised but not extended ones...not yet anyway.
As always, it's just a matter of time before Mugen/HTC/Seidio etc announce an extended battery.
I hope they can squeeze a true not BS 1500mAH battery in there without a new back cover. It would ruin the design.

There are 1500mAH batteries listed on Ebay already but how can you tell if its the same old 1230mAH battery with a different sticker on it? Is it even possible to squeeze 270 more mA into a battery of the same size?
lol of course its possible.. have you seen the size of the EVO's battery??? that was 1500 and the dimensions were quiute similar to that of the HD2... so I don't see why it would make a difference
I bought an HD7 and love it. Battery life is not the greatest so I just ordered a 1500 mAh battery for it. I'll let you guys know if it is any better. BTW, the HD7 comes with a 1230 mHa battery (thanks HTC for going cheap here :-| )

As mentioned above the big battery sticks out the back of your phone in a great big lump (they have a picture on their site now). It will also add a lot to the weight. HTC would never release a phone like this.
Why they didn't make the HD7 just a tiny bit thicker and heavier to squeeze a 1500mAh battery in is another question though.
I am not talking about the battery cover. I am talking about a case. A leather case or any other thing i can protect my phone with so if it drops or anything i dont want any scratches etc.

Ofcourse it will work, since what you are doing is not different from charging the phone. I mean you connect this battery via miniusb to the phone so i see no reason why it shouldn't work. I think the right question would be if the device will show it as an extended battery or as the phone being charged. I think you get what i am trying to say.

Hi ppl why you want to buy something that makes the phone ugly, big ,non pocket friendly and you have to carry it. If i checked correct it charging the phone up to 85%. If you don't have problem to carry something with you you can choose zagg which can charge hd2 almost 4 times or you can carry a Chinese battery from eBay which is really cheap and smaller . For me because this is a problem i choose this

Ty for the reply,
About the zagg, I don't want to carry along something that is detached from my phone, because I like to keep it in my pocket; I admit this makes it thicker, but I got extra big pockets just in case - sales assistant stared at me cluelessly when I asked for jeans/cargo trousers with the biggest pockets.
About the 2430mah Chinese battery, it's stated capacity is a lie - hence a waste of money.

Wow that thing is huge and ugly imo. I get great life out of my battery using hyperdroid GBX...ever since I have been using that rom I have not once thought about an exteded battery.
I bought this from ebay for $13 w/free shipping. Just got it today. Hd2 is 2mm x 1mm x .5mm smaller than the hd7, so it is a little loose. But barely loose. Still fits, and stays put, doesn't slide around. Hd7 power and battery ratings are the same as hd2, so it is fully compatible. Works great! Doesn't actually add to your total maH, but you have a gel cover with a built in 1500 maH battery that charges your phone when needed. The result- led is always green or amber, so no flashing led when message is received. Also, there is no data pass through, so you have to take the case off to sync with your pc. The case comes off easily though. Case takes the same usb connector as the phone, so you can use your charger. Since it is a case, the overall size increase is uniform, unlike the pregnant bulge of an extended battery. Still, I'm going to get an extended battery just to have it and check it out. I recommend this case.

I was thinking of getting one of these (or an extended battery) but I just bought a portable charger. It's 2300 mah (almost 2 extra full charges) for only $30.
POWERSKIN only 4.99$
POWERSKIN only 4.99$ but not available for FRANCE ....fk...

you could order one? and you probably did...
i had a master plan of ordering few of them, sending them to someone in europe who can order them and sending them to everyone across the continent who wanted one.
