Battery cover - Nexus S Accessories

I bought nexus s from craigslist and got ripped off... Someone sold me a phone without back battery cover. It came with a case and seller was in a hurry so I bought it by inspecting the software.
Can some one help me in buying a cheap case? Nfc is not a problem for me... I just want a 10-15 bucks battery cover...

Call Samsung support. They'll ask for imei and just tell then you broke your battery cover. Then say you heard they sold replacements. They'll check and then they'll sell it to you for $16. Took a little more than a week for me to get one.

Thanks man! you saved my life. Just called samsung support and had them send me the back cover for $16.23 with free 5-7 days shipping.
I also asked for the warranty on the product and they said that it was till March 2012. I also noticed that the screen has permanent impression of the virtual keyboard on it. First i thought that restoring to factoring settings will fix it but no... I still have the virtual keyboard impressions on the screen. I think it is the problem with the digitizer. They said that they will replace it for free. Now I am gonna have a cool phone once it comes back from Samsung.
Thanks a ton for showing me the way.
Anyhow, one more question, My phone is rooted and is running a custom rom on it, is it still under warranty? I am sure there should be a way to unlock the bootloader and return back to stock ROM, can you show me a thread please... I am gonna search also but I want to make sure I am doing it right before i do it... so that they don't deny me the warranty...
Thanks,
Edit/update: searched and found everything. Returned back to stock. It's so simple with nexus s! Thanks everyone who helped me

Go to samsungs nexus s website, the number will be listed where it says support. You just talk to a rep who will handle everything.

Just google samsung support phone number. It will help if you register your phone on their website before calling because that will save you some time.

Is it possible to get replacement backcovers for the Nexus S? A buddy of mine that works at Google swapped his Android backcover for my retail one. But I also want the normal one as well.

Me too. I've been searching around Google, but nothing yet. Today for my N1, I bought a battery cover for $21 on True Supplier, so I'm sure they'll eventually pop up.
I'd prefer the one with the little androids all over it I think.

HTC gave me a free one for saying my lens thing cracked. They were usually $30 oem. I think there's quite a bit more to the build of the ns back though. It's like half the phone! You could pretty much refurbish the device to new with one. hehe
Wow. I just got a flood of PMs asking to trade my back cover. -_-
Only if you guys throw in cash.
the phone is pratically brand new, it's just been a couple of weeks at best.
give it a couple of months, and the market will be full of selections to choose from, just like whent he Galaxy S started, there was barely any accessories for it.
Now every website you go to, it's flooded with all kind of parts & accessories for the SGS.
I'll pay the monies! I wants the precious!

I have one for the S3 and I LOVE IT!! Best $20 bucks I ever spent on a phone battery. My worry with this one though is no mention of NFC on it. The Note 2 has NFC on the case again not on the battery like the S3. If this has NFC then you will officially have a phone that lasts longer than a Tablet
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
No NFC, no thanks.
I bought one of these (can't post links, but do a search on ebay for note 2 7600 and you'll find it). Decided if I was going to extend the battery I might as well do it properly, and a 7600MA battery is about as big as I could find! Figured if it was crap I'd only wasted £15! Turns out it's rather good. It does add a bit of depth to the phone (about 10mm), but for me at least it actually makes it more comfortable in my hand. And it has the added bonus of keeping the camera lens away from whatever surface the phone is on. Can't comment on whether the nfc works or not I'm afraid as it's not something I use.

Have you tried to open it up and charge the battery directly, or you could get a dock and charge it through the pogo pins.

Buy another port and replace it yourself. It shouldn't be that difficult.
Or go buy another one locally and then put your old one in the box and return it for a refund. You'll need the money to buy one but you'll get it back and have a new tablet to show for it. Office Depot stocks them. Just make sure it looks new and won't turn on. So you can tell them its just not coming on and since it's new they'll think its just a factory dud.
Good luck.
why do you want to return it to stock? Send it in for RMA and tell them it won't charge

Perhaps you could shoot the guys an email over at http://www.mobiletechvideos.com. They do repairs for phones and tablets, while I don't see a section for the Nexus 7, perhaps if you just tell them your story they might be able to give you a hand in getting your N7 up and running again.

Screen lifted

Does anyone have their screen slightly lifted from one side? It's like the adhesive is missing resulting in the screen lifting just from that part bending the glass abit. I just noticed after my hand sliding off the screen I can feel that it's been lifted. Will this be considered a manufacturer defect allowing me to swap the phone for free? Also how exactly does this work? Do I just show up with the phone and they swap the phone or do I have to take everything such as the box? I already took precautions and locked the bootload and ruu

So I just went in and they said they refused to help me because my phone was purchased through best buy. I guess I have to send it to HTC and see if they will fix it since I've unlocked although I wouldn't see y that would be an issue. If you are within 14 days of original purchase, you are entitled to have your defective phone replaced with a NEW phone. If that is the case, that may be why they are "refusing" to help you, just poorly explained. However, if you are outside of that 14 day window, any Sprint corporate service center or ASC (authorized service center) should be able to help you with your issue, although some techs who are on a limited exchange budget may argue that your issue does not affect device functionality and therefore not qualify for an exchange. Not necessarily my opinion, just throwing that out there as a possibility.
As far as coverage and costs if you are outside of 14 day window:
If you have Best Buy insurance, go through Best Buy for a free replacement.
If you have TEP/ESRP, go through any Sprint service and repair location for a free replacement.
If you only have the manufacturer warranty, you can go through HTC for free replacement (could take up to two weeks and you might have to pay for shipping) or go through Sprint for a fee.
It's a known issue. People were posting about the raised screen when the phone first came out. Like someone said, try a different tech/store. I have argued till I was blue in the face over the phone about stuff, hung up got a different employee and had the next one give me zero problems.

If need be, you can pop the back cover off with a guitar pick, or similar. Its just like a Samsung once you get inside. Remove the battery, remove the rear housing, remove the motherboard, vibrator, antennae, etc.

Untold? I fired the person for theft of fuel. Some cannot be trusted with a monitored fuel card I guess. Especially when the card is tied to a certain vehicle and they have to use a unique pin at the pump. My 160 out of pocket to repair a phone is chump change when it's a few hundred dollars of fuel

And there it is. Had this happen at my place of employment. Said person was ultimately fired for a 2$ charge. Giving employees G2s to use, nice boss... Lol
Maybe it"s a factor to some, but idc if it's 2 dollars or 2000, cant stand a thief. I can understand the not bothering part as well, if you ever recover the price it will have cost you even more. Some former employee's of mine thought being the boss makes you rich so you wont notice, both are usually idiotic ideas. Why they think i owe them but they owe me nothing is beyond me.
