Error: Unable to create /dev/dun - Optimus One, P500 Android Development

Hi dev's and friends,
i need some help:
just trying to get CAF (CodeAurora) Gingerbread 2.3.4 running, but i cant
solve a QCRIL problem: i use the new baseband for P500 - rild is starting,
libs are loading but i see a error in logcat as described in thread title.
my questions:
1.) what does it mean
2.) rild and qmuxd services are running as radio:radio, needs this another user as in LG ginger?
Thanks for hints, tips, help and a virtual beer

Can you send me whole logcat to PM. Maybe I can help you.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App

It's trying to create the device DialUpNetworking, my first impression is same like yours, the userrights are wrong.
I remember there was a file for userpermissions, will try to find it for you next thing in the morning.

Yeah, give some other infos I can help you since I have a working computer now and I know RIL stuff
(try using LGE proprietary files though if you didn't )

thanks for answering,
i think i have another problem but /dev/dun:
today i flashed back my GB2.3.4 CM7 rom, applied the new QRIL libs
and binaries (rild,qmuxd,rmt-storage) ... but ... i dont have GSM network.
might be, something is wrong with my baseband???
i flashed the baseband as described here (the russian way):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530
the official LG rom is working, but no cooked rom

Maybe you forgot rild binary
(btw you can see if in logcat you find something like can't comunicate with qualcomm radio MSM7227. I had this problem on Sense when GSM wasn't working, but that's another story, sorry, there I had to use libhtc_ril.so).

as i wrote, i really have all ril libs and binaries copied to he rom ...
ril is starting and some later it comes a message from gstk, but i cant read this - the messages are very fast looping

btw:
does RIL depends on Country? i 've seen RIL is using the flex from LG, my RIL libs are from Romania ROM - should i try the other with MiddleEurope support?

Flashed Baseband V20g again, installed CM7 rom, flashed mik's RIL patch - i dont have GSM, flashed Romania LG gingerbread - it works complete.
do i'm something wrong??? i dont have a idea what i can do now

I had earlier flashed v20a. Then I flashed cm7. After this I flashed mik's patch. GSM was back but data was not working.
Edit: afaik v20a and v20g baseband are slightly different. But I think it doesn't matter.

[Q] Why is there an *.exe file in the factoryfs.rfs

Hello,
I extracted the factoryfs.rfs file from JPX with MagicIso and noticed that there is a SWD-V300_WiMAX_Setup.exe file under system(maybe system/bin) and an autorun.inf in the same folder. So I wonder why? I thougt the Galaxy S don't have WiMAX? Can I safely delete that file?
Very interesting...
What rom are you on?
Yeah quite interesting. Why an exe is included? Hasn't any expert programmers noticed this?
Why not upload the files here? We can then see what OS this exe file is for, maybe it's not supposed to be there.
Autorun.inf is used in CDs/DVDs in Windows to get them to launch a file when the disc is inserted. I don't know if it is used in Linux or anything else.
Just tested an original rom nothing like that inside .
jje
hidden .iso file in galaxy s XWJS5
I also found the same file using stock XWJS5 (2.2.1).
It's under /system/etc/autorun.iso
The iso file list is as above:
AUTORUN.exe
AUTORUN.INF
SWD-V300_WiMAX_Setup.exe
Samsung had a prototype on the forge with model name "Samsung SWD-V300 Cosmos".
Now what does this have to do with galaxy s ? Probably nothing, but who knows.

I can confirm the contents of the ISO. I found it in the newest Darky's ROM.
I can't see any reasons for this being in the fs? I want to delete it.
Some details for ya...
Just came across this myself. I was thinking maybe it was something similar to HTC's use of a CD-Rom USB interface, which loads an iso image containing drivers. Which frankly would make sense, seeing as most of us see a CD-Rom drive when plugged in via USB, well us Vibrant guys anyways, not sure about I9000. Out of curiosity I installed it on one of my VM testers. There's really not much there, and it seems somewhat dated. Here ya go.
Found this in Trigger 3.0.1. Also, the .inf lists quite a few files, but I never saw them. The installer extracted out to the following. C7xVX32S.sys, C7xVOIP.inf, an msi installer, and a few directories. The tester was 7 x86 Ultimate.

Pushing for MIUI

Hi all
Tonight (1 Dec) I have time. Lets see how far we can get with MIUI (with whoever is keen).
Check here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371428
What my approach this time is is to "dependency inject" MIUI into CM7. That is, start with CM7 base and then add the jars + apks + libs of MIUI from LG's Optimus2X one for one. This is different than starting with MIUI and then changing it with CM files one for one.
Right
Attached is the file list of CM7 nightly and MIUI 1.11.25.
Differences of note:
lgdrmserver
libbridge
liblgdrm
/system/media/gadget files
I'll keep updating on progress! Please do hop on the development, I'm doing all the "beta" testing on my side (thus press thank you and don't post I'll help you test).
Does one need to compile from source <github> or can we just grab files from LG's Optimus2X zip'd MIUI and overwrite the CM7 files? I will also spend some time on this see if I can make some leeway!
Thank you for your help and hard work!!
What does all this mean ?
If I can help with anything? please let me know!! Thanks so much for your efforts!

Means it might be over your head and should wait till a stable comes out.

Yes, binary files - no compiling. That is, however, what I'm up to.
First up, /system/bin/app_process : zygote, main system daemon.
/system/bin/app_process : No difference in startup.
Next up: framework.jar : The whole platform (will break a lot of things, I'm sure - we'll see)

Seems like a .so that is missing or a .so that needs replacing.
/system/lib/libutils.so is a match - checking.
Solved previous error, now getting this:
I/Netd ( 1741): Netd 1.0 starting

Getting strace output:

Not entirely helpful. Sockets for system services are normally "premade" in Android in the init.rc file. Will look around, otherwise will check for MIUI version.
service zygote /system/xbin/strace -f -tt -o /cache/debug/boot.strace /system/bin/app_process -Xzygote /system/bin --zygote --start-system-server
Will make strace put out debug of zygote.
Yay for more debug...
No help, make strace of just netd be put out. Argh.

Before netd fs off into oblivion.
Right, replacing netd then. Not keen - this is suppose to work out of the box.
Did not help. What I can gather:
It loads its libraries fine, and then starts to listen for a connection. Then, a system call syscall_983045 goes unfinished.
Prompting the crash in netd.
Library dependencies for netd seems (so far from strace):
c,sysutils,log,stdc++,m,cutils,netutils,crypto,z,hardware_legacy,utils,binder,wpa_client,bluedroid
Guessing who is the culprit:
Not c (C lib),stdc++ (standard c++ lib),wpa_client(WiFi),bluedroid (BT),hardware_legacy (lights),log (log),m (math), z (compression),crypto (crypto)
Either cutils, sysutils, netutils, binder
Utils ldd:

Replacing liblog and libcutils with MIUI versions. Lets have a look what breaks next
liblog added the following error:
1973 20:13:37.926040 open("/dev/log/libra", O_WRONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
Still no change in netd.
Trying libc, see if netd will budge
Googled for syscall_983045
Apparently used to spawn a service. Part of binder.
Replacing binder as well. Crikey
Well if things break due to syscalls not going through, then we've hit a snag on kernel levels.
Anyone got privy on where they hide the MIUI Optimus 2X kernel source?

Yeah, I pretty much know whats going on, I may have the wrong lib_runtime and android policy, also may be a faulty kernel. From the log you can tell it finalises boot, it has all the scripts but there are a few errors, that I know cant be errors.
system/lib/libnetcmdiface.so - look like that lib isn't there
camera drivers might be wrong - use the CM10.1 drivers
and looks like some of the /etc scripts aren't working properly and some .conf files aren't present.
I'd have to flash the rom and have a physical copy to mess with to tell you more.

@sickkside13, @skeevydude and I are working on this port, hes helping me alot. He says (I deleted the email, so don't quote me.) that we will have a build from source probably by tomorrow or the day after.
Nice

I still gotta tweak our device\vendor repo (if its anything like PA, which it seems to be, should only be a few lines). Hard part will be making a vendor/rootbox repo for us -- just gonna base it on a Nexus and start playing the follow the makefile game . Due to the way our CM10.1 repo is set up -- our only custom repos are for kernel, device, and device vendor -- the very minimal necessary -- roms like this & PACMAN shouldn't be that hard to make for us from source. Atrix HD and GSM Razr HD anyways...don't know much about CDMA roms.
Depending on time, I should have the necessary changes and additions done today. I gotta go with the bossman on a bid and to pick up some materials today --- not sure how long that'll take. Gotta go 20 miles one way from town for the bid, 40 miles the other way for materials (60 miles from the bid).
Waiting for this, looks good

Just finished everything and starting the first compile. Been going for 10 minutes now. Hopefully it'll finish. :fingers-crossed:
If it goes well, sources should be on github this evening and my tweaked vendor and device repo should just work with the PacMan sources. PacMan should just need some qinara vendor/pacman config and make files. Root and Pac both use a modified PA style build system, I've done a bit of PA in the past so, and luckily, doing these tweaks\making the necessary vendor make files is nothing new to me.
Plan is to do Unofficial Atrix HD RootBox. If this works, then I'll do the same for Razr HD. Once all that's done I'll move on to PacMan.
I'm also going to add, before all you guys start giving me the same BS you've been giving Codex, that all I'm doing is taking the razr-qcom dev team repos and making them compatible with other projects. All the actual development will either be via the dev team's CM10.1 kernel or whatever project's dev team. That's not saying that I won't add in any fixes or whatever myself, just that most of what I'm doing is combining other peoples hard work for our benefit.
//20 minutes compiling and goind strong

Thanks for the Razr HD love!
Didn't compile, had some errors with tcpdump, removing it and trying again.
Sources available on git-hub
Code:
repo init -u [url]https://github.com/skeevy420/platform_manifest.git[/url] -b razrqcom-rootbox
repo sync
. build_rootbox.sh qinara [B][COLOR="Blue"]X[/COLOR][/B] clean
[B][COLOR="Blue"]X[/COLOR][/B] is the number of threads to use, use either number of cores or number of cores +1 -- whichever you find works best.

Was having some defconfig issues with the kernel. Resolved them and starting over. It was crappin out around 35 minutes, so once 10:00 central hits I'll be farther along in the process anyways
Day one fun

From start to finish? Defy CM10.1 takes an hour an a half, so this should be between an hour an a half to two hours...providing it finishes.

Even if it is buggy I'd at least like to get it set up and compiling so that when its not buggy all the leg work is already done.

[Solved] [Q] [Experimental] [XV] CM12 Build Questions

I have been using one MOD for framework.jar for a long time. The MOD made CallLog History Limit to 100000.
After CM12 was released for our device, the MOD was not working. So I decided to Modify the necessary Source files and Compile one Rom Myself.
I have used kernel sources from @neoWhite and Device Tree & Vendor Files form @updateing
There were lots of errors, but finally I managed to make the build by my own with help of Google.
After I got the ZIP file in the $OUT destination, I noticed, there was no system folder. Only system.img and system image patch.
Is it normal? As I want only some files modified, How can I make a ROM Zip file, with System folder. Is there any build command or I have to make it manually from the out/target/product/tsubasa/system folder?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks Trying it now. Maybe another 2 hours. :fingers-crossed:
It's normal behavior of Lollipop, though not everyone is fond of it...
Thanks I found the flag in /build/core/main.mk
It compiled and somehow compiled without the ODEX files So now just for testing, I have manually set
Code:
export DISABLE_DEXPREOPT=false
export WITH_DEXPREOPT=true
and doing another brunch tsubasa
Let's see how it goes. :fingers-crossed:
My plan is to replace the Dialer, Phone and related files including the frameworks in the Neo's ROM with my one and then flash it.
Can receive but Can't make Outgoing Calls
I have finally built the ROM and it Boots
But Now facing only one problem. I can not make Outgoing Calls.
I have got the Logcats (attached), and Most Probably the problem is somewhere here

ADB default allowed (without checking /data/misc/adb/adb_keys) in stock 47.2.A.11.228-R3C

Hi guys
Using 47.1.A.2.324 / 47.1.A.16.20 (stock oreo) android works correct -> after enabled "developer -> usb-debugging" the device asks me to allow the remote-computer...
But, if i flash 47.2.A.11.228 i get adb access DIRECT at the first boot (usb-debugging is on without enabling developer-settings).
Flushing the "stored keys" dont help...this is a major security-problem and of course.. TWRP isnt working because it cant find the keys.
JFI: i dont see the "Debugging-Notification"-Switch to enable the verification-dialog in the settings
Flashing it back to oreo and it works again (just for oreo).
A "adb logcat |grep adb" gets:

So i ask myself "where is the key stored, or if he isnt stored, why the devices dont ask my to allow/store the new remote-computer".
And it doesnt matter which stock-rom i flash... i used "emma" and "newflasher" with different pie-roms.
Strange...
