hackdroid ROM update question - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the floyo v21 ROM and it works like a charm.I just now saw another update on july 23 with a newer version.
so now if i want to upgrade to the new version on 23 july from the old version on 18 july do I need to put the new version in xrecovery folder and flash the phone again or is there an easier way where i dont lose my contacts and installed programs.if so can you plase guide me how?
many thanks
Vijay

floyo v21 is android 2.2
the other version from july 23rd ist android 2.3
so there might be some problems if you "update"
be sure to backup first!

@vijesl07:First,this rom is called "Floyo v1.0b",not "Floyo v21".Second,cm7 v.138 hackdroid is base on Android 2.3.4,Floyo v1.0b is base on Android 2.2.5 these are 2 different system.Problem happens if you installed a wrong rom.

[Q]Upgrading Rom

Hello,
I'm currently on MIUI MCGV 7.7 Rom with NEO 08 kernal (its based on MIUI 1.6.17).
Now I saw Gallant issued a new series of the Roms to MIUI (not MCG).
I want to upgrade to the new MIUI-Gallant Rom v2.2 from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134583 and in this thread it says that Neo 10 kernal added.
Now my qustion is : can I upgrade to the new rom just by format wipe and system and then install the rom from recovey?
And if do it will i have the kernal Neo 10?
I hope I am in the right place.
yea format wipe and sytem then instal galnet 2.2, and yes since kernel is inbuilt the phone will have neo 10 after flash...
yes u can do it..just make sure u wipe system and cash
ok, thank you very much.

[Q] Need Help w/upgrading

Ok I've been away from G1 for a couple of years and now I'm giving it to my little brother and I would like to try out this rom this is what I have on the phone since I've used it:
android ver. 2.2.1
baseband: 62.50sc.2017u.2.22.23.02
kernel version: 2.6.35.9 cyanogenmod
mod version: cyanogenmod 6.1.0 DS
recovery:RA 1.7.0
Can some help and direct me as to what I need to upgrade to try out some of the newer roms for my brother.
any help would be great
thanks
If your G1 already rooted. All you have to do is flash SPL/radio that is required for the ROM you want, then flash the ROM. Make sure you wipe before you start.

[Q] Rocket ICS update from v1-v6

Hey there guys!
I want to update my Galaxy Note's Rocket ICS v1 to v6.
Although, I'm not very sure if I can update it directly to version 6, without going through the version 2-5 updates. So, is it possible to update version 1 directly to version 6? And if it can be done, and I did update it directly to version 6, will I still get the updates that version 2-5 has?
Sorry, if I posted on the wrong section >_< It turns out that I can't post on the main Rocket ICS ROM thread, yet.

Yes, you can update directly from v1 to v6. You will have the same update whether you go directly from v1 to v6 or from going through 2-5.
Thanks a lot, good sir!

[Q] Installed Bootloader Unlocked, Rooted, xRecovery v0.1, whats next?

Hey boys,
Finally i decide to upgrade my Xperia X8 (from the last android official update) to a new version. I past the day reading guides, looking videos and finally i got my:
* Bootloader Unlocked.
* Rooted.
* xRecovery v0.1 Installed
Now im trying to decide wich version should i try to upgrade. Some people would say as a first shoot i should upgrade to 2.3.7, but i would like to install a newer version of android like 3.X or 4.X if possible.
My question is, there is any problem if i try to upgrade from Android (2.0 or 2.1) not exactly sure to a newer version (Android 4.0)?
Wich guides do you recommend me to follow, i think that the newer versions ask you to install something called kernel, but 2.3.7 doesnt right?
Thanks for advance.
