DISCLAIMER: You know the drill, I am not responsible if loading this rom makes your Tab melt, explode, disintegrate, or cause harm to anyone near it. (I am fairly certain none of that will happen though )
Change log in second post.
Welcome to The Overcome Experience - 10.1 Edition . For those of you that don’t know me, let me introduce myself. I am AlterBridge86, the creator of The Overcome Experience. I started developing a ROM on the OG Galaxy Tab (P1000) about 9 months ago and have moved on to having my own brand of ROM’s, Kernels, and Recoverys. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P7510) is the second device now to get a “Overcome Series” ROM, however it will most definitely not be the last.
My mission is simple. I aim to vastly improve the stock user experience on Samsung devices. I think that Samsung makes fantastic hardware, however fails to bring the same level of software quality to their devices. This is where I step in. I take the base rom, as provided by Samsung, and perform further optimization and modification to it. My mods aim not to completely customize the user interface, but rather add some very useful key functionality while retaining the “stock android” look.

KERNEL FEATURES
Coming soon with proper source release!
About Overcome CWM Recovery
At its core, Overcome CWM Recovery v4.1.1.5 is the traditional ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.5. However, I have heavily modified the interface layout as well as added some very helpful functionality. You will notice this as soon as you enter recovery. I urge you to peruse the recovery and check out the options available to you. You will get to use some of these options during the install following our thorough guide.
Install Instructions
If you have some form of CWM on your device already, simply download the ROM, and install zip through CWM. Be sure to wipe data to ensure a clean install!
If you do NOT have CWM on your device already or you want to start completely fresh, I STRONGLY urge you to read the excellent guide that we have put together to fully "restock" your system and get Overcome installed
If you already have Overcome 10.1 Series v1.0.0 installed, you can use the updater zip found in the downloads section of the website. This is a small zip that will update only the changed files, leaving all your data in tact.

Oh wow!!!!!

Welcome, your very needed. looking forward to follow your work here

Welcome.!!
Was a happy surprise this . Hope this runs as god as the rom you have done for the 7" tab and that Iam really satisfied with.
Now just hope the overclock kernel isn't so far away.
Any words on how this ROM perform with "pershoot" kernel?

Best Galaxy Tab ROM now for the tab 10.1 .

Great to have another Dev on board. I will definitely be watching this thread and trying this out.

ROM- freakin'-tastic! I am stoked....... welcome, "Overcome 10.1" !!

Uh oh....haha I've gotta check this one out.. finally a power menu that can do more than shut off! Thanks bro!

Hey alter, is there a custom kernel in this already? I see you mention kernel features, but its blank. I wasn't sure if ti was blank because its not done yet and not implemented, or it ia implemented but you just didn't finish getting the sources together.

Wow Alter, this is brilliant - I was a fan of yours on the previous Tab !! I've since moved to the 10.1 - it is great to see more ROMs coming here !! Just got a question whether there will be a version for the 3G model (7500).
Cheers

wow. must be an excellent release. Really want to give it a try right away.
Thanks. Does that make sense to update the market also to version 3?

It sure looks like it man. You haven't given an ok?

Looks like a great rom for a great device. Could you perhaps support pershoots kernel as it is already heavily optimized and I would like to use the combination of your rom with his kernel.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium

I dont see why this wouldnt support it though.
found this on his site:
FAQs
Q. Why is stock kernel included and not custom?
A: The stock kernel is included because the source currently available does not work 100% on the new Touchwiz UX roms. Using the stock kernel ensures that users get the most reliable and well-performing installation. Once the new TOuchwiz UX source is released, I will begin work on an Overcome Kernel for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

Hmm it looks same to me also..

So... What's going on here? Is this a legit ROM or just a ripoff of Task650's?
Aside from the UI, has anyone compared their performance?
Thanks

[ROM] Heathens SGS II Clone V2 [KB5] Updated 5/17/11

I was asked to do an SGS II clone. Here it is.
This rom is a one off deal and is FINAL. <---- It was supposed to be anyway...
V2 Stats and changes from V1:
KB5 Base
cmenards awesome Bullet Kernel - Disabled by default
This kernel includes the following:
Ability to OC to 1.420Ghz
Safe boots to 1Ghz
Voodoo Sound v7
Voodoo Color
Voodoo Lagfix
CIFS
Use setCPU to enable the 1.420Ghz step. Please DON'T try to set screen off profiles below 800mhz on this one. Don't select set at boot unless your really sure it's stable on your phone. Make a backup of you existing kernel with SGS Kernel Flasher. Blah Blah Blah
Recommenced SetCPU profiles:
Main 100-1420/conservative
Charging 100-1000/conservative
8 Lockscreens mod by Whitehawkx
Extended power options - 4 tab by default, Miui rethemed as Meizu M9
Reboot, download, recovery images from Lidroid.
EDT Tweaks
All other theming from SGS II - Apps, battery, pulldown etc.
SGS II Live Wallpapers.
SGS II boot animation and sound.
Wifi-calling and non blurry mms with smilies.
TW4 mod by Whitehawkx
Several new live wallpapers
Mostly de-bloated.
Fixed clear all button along with several other minor bugs
Replaced handle with non-dropshadow version
Install:
Optional: Start with a fresh ODIN
Download SGSII.V2.Final.zip and save to your sdcard
Boot into recovery
Factory reset three times
Wipe Cache Partition
Flash SGSII.V2.Final.zip
Wipe Dalvik
Fix permissions
Reboot
It is preferable that you give the phone 15 minutes before digging in and then reboot.
Notes:
Rom has been designed with all of its components in mind.
The kernel was chosen specifically for this rom, and the system has been optimized to support it.
Titanium sucks in my opinion, so be careful with what you will restore - even if you have done it 1000 times, you may break the system.
Rom is supported and runs best the way it has been built, changing the kernel, modem, etc.. will change the system - you are on your own from that point.
I have not experienced it but some say the launcher may crash at reboot, if it does then let it sit and choose force close and let it reload.
Please do not report a bug that is already reported on every page.
Please read this OP and the thread, if the question you are asking has already been covered, you can expect for no response from me.

I guess its not really a hijack since its the same dev team...
(Well, they haven't made a specific thread on XDA yet)
But the "Asgard" Rom over on the EDT forums is also worth a checkout. (For the SGSII Flavor of the month goodness)
Played with it for a day and seems to be very nice as well.
(Though its actually GB, so theres some stuff to iron out - ie gps)
Twiz 4.0 is actually pretty nice (imo)
Though I still like a scrollable dock

Yes, Asgard is the real deal. This is a clone. Made to fill a request. 2.2 is on its way out so you shouldn't expect too many more builds from it. I do highly suggest Asgard for your GB rom.

A lot of people need GPS on a daily basis and this is where this rom comes in. I can't wait to give this a try, I was never a Touchwiz fan but 4.0 is pretty shiny. When drivers for the GPS are finally released and we start seeing working GPS in GB roms then I'll make the permanent switch over (I've just used GB roms for short periods at a time). Until then, I'll be using this and other 2.2 and 2.2.1 roms.

Looks good. I was wondering what the Android UI and TW UI looked like? Still the glossy blue that Tmob uses, or the darker blue that the SGS and SGSII use?
is this flashable through cwm?

4. Now click on the “PIT” button, and a file selection window should open. Look for the following file “android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit” (not applicable for P7500) in the extracted folder (under KME ODIN) and select it. Next click the “PDA” button, and select the “P7510XABKME_P7510UEKME_HOME.tar” file. (If P7500, select the “P7500OXAKI1_P7500XXKI1_P7500XXKI1_HOME.tar.md5″ file)

The fat part is the incorrect part.
Odin gives following error:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Re-Partition operation failed
what I did is.
Use clockwork recovery to repartition after that use odin without using a PIT.
Flash with odin and manually reset to factory in recovery mode
ok cool ill check it out then
awesome rom!
Thank you for this man !
Finally using the galaxy tab 10.1 in all its (stable) glory!

Excellent question. However, my answer is a bit vague: Not sure.
I _thought_ it did with the previous version of Overcome. I may have simply _thought_ that it did given the ad-block statement in the OP and that I use adblock on my pc and mac. In fact, I was a bit startled when I saw the ads.... Mebbe I just didn't notice before.... Not to get OT, but I prefer to pay devs for aps directly whenever possible.
So, back to my original question: should ads be blocked in FB, with the included browser or other browsers? Bug? No bug?
I really appreciate the tremendous amount of work it take to churn out a quality product like this.
Cheers!

[ROM][15 Jan 2012][3G only][HC 3.2]Ganbarou GT V0.5b[P7500XXKL4][P7501XXKL4]

Honeycomb 3.2 ROM for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1(N) 3G ROM (GT-P7500)(GT-P7501).
I guess this will be the last Ganbarou GT ROM based on Honeycomb 3.2. As everybody else I am waiting that the CM9 ROM or an IceCreamSandwich ROM from Samsung is coming.
[UPDATE]
Updated the ROM with small enhancements.
This update can be used only if you already have a Ganbarou GT V0.5 or V0.5a ROM installed. If not, please install first my ROM. This would be a Ganbarou GT V0.5 for a 10.1 or 10.1N.
Changelog:
Added Recovery reboot to PowerMenu
Browser with UAstring options in the settings menu
6 ROM versions available for 10.1 (P7500), 10.1N (P7501), 8.9(P7300), with original Samsung icons and with AOSP icons
The bug with the mouse pointer not visible is fixed as well.
The versions with the Samsung icons have now the colored icons in the settings.
As a small add-on I included the Photo Browser coming from the Acer Icona tab. Really fast and fancy. Check the video on youtube.
Download:
Ganbarou GT V0.5b 10.1 Android icons
Ganbarou GT V0.5b 10.1N Android icons
Ganbarou GT V0.5b 10.1 Samsung icons
Ganbarou GT V0.5b 10.1N Samsung icons
[/UPDATE]
This version of the ROM is based on the XXKL4 stock ROM released for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Italy.
It has only minor changes to the V0.4 but I think it was worth to release it.
There are 2 versions of this ROM.
Ganbarou 10.1 => for P-7500 tablets
Ganbarou 10.1N => for P-7501 tablets
The difference between the 10.1 and 10.1N is only in the build.prop, so that the 10.1N is reporting correct as P-7501 tablet.
Reminder:
Be aware that this is only for the 3G version of the SGT. I cannot test on Wifi, LTE (4G), or 10.1v versions of the tablet. I guess it will not work and you will get into problems.
You flash this ROM on your own risk. If you damage your tablet with this ROM I take no responsibility for it.
Start SuperUser once after 1st boot to make sure its working correct!

At the moment this is pure stock, just rooted and deodexed stock ROM.
More to come.
Happy to see more 3g roms coming..thank u so much to developer. I will try this if it is smooth and bugsfree.
I request the developer to bring some exciting and unseen fearures in next release.
And there it comes. Finally a new rom for 3G version. Welcome and good luck with your work.
Installed and booted. Will do some test driving now.
Its booted and runinng but im having problems getting it smooth. Just as the DXKI2 firmware. I wiped my device via CWM, factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik, formated system, data, cache. then i flashed DXKI2 with odin and then factory reset and iinstalled your build. So i installed on clean system. What was the reason for choosing DXKI2 as rom base? I have tried that firmware for days and tried various solutions for getting it to run as smooth as KI1, but not succeded. If it was because it was the latest, I have a KI1 firmware with the same build date as DXKI2. The KI1 fiirmware with the same build date as this is smoother and uses a different kernel. let me know if you want to have a look at it. Plus it has all the languages for systeem and swype. Anyways good work and thank you
Or download it from Checkfus its the HongKong firmware.
Sorry if)f this is OT,
Nick,I'm on KI2 with Pershoot,V6 and zipaligned mod...imo this made a lot of difference in smoothness..just a suggestion if you haven't already tried.
Anyway to BeeGee, great job, hope you will come up with more enhancements to your rom
wow! it's very good to see more 3g roms!

Hello nickwarn, seems a lot of old Vega friends moved on to new tablets. The reason why I chose the KI2 was that none of the cooks made a custom ROM with this version. I just wanted to challenge myself and see what I can get out of the KI2. I know the KI2 is not as smooth as Overcome or BroodComb ROM, but I will try to improve it. Due to the limit in the available languages it is definitly not the best base, I agree.

Zipaligned it is already, Pershoot or GoRie kernel will come. But the kernels can be flashed on top anyway, so I want to get the enhancements for the power menu (Reboot, Recovery Boot) first.
What i did when i tested various things on KI2 was moostly deleting apks and trying with apks from ddifferent firmwares. i found that the launcher used in the KI2 firmwares is bad so if that is replaced this KI2 firmware was quite nice. i flashed and installed the different KI2 firmwares many timess and always found that to help big time, but not now. I will try and reflash, see if it helps.

Which launchers did you try? The one from KI1 or older ones as well?
Strange that I do not see a big lag on the launcher on my tablet. Only when I change to the screen where I have 3 Gallery slideshows running in parallel I see a lag. Will try with other launchers as well.

Its not a big lag its more like a little studdering all the time. Every time when swiping between screens iin homescreen its just not smooth. And with the new KI2 launchers its named Launcher under settings, the old was called TW launcher. So something is new in the launcher. I tried KI1 launcher, I tried Overcome(( Think he made some change to it), Bindroid, KI2 Wifi, Asus Launcher and probably more. I found that it help getting it more smooth changing Launcher. The smoothest in homescreen is Asus Launcher but that is not as smooth in app drawer. The best i think was KI1 stock or Overcome, i think. You have to try, all our devices are different.
I think stuttering or lag while swiping the homescreens is present in any stock rom or custom rom. Specially when u have some live wallpapers on it. With some third party launchers like Adw, the screen transitions are very smooth. I read one article on android authority that icecream sandwich will have gpu hardware acceleration for homescreen and launcher so homescreen transitions will be very smooth like 60 fps.
So my question to developer is are you able to apply such kind of gpu haedware acceleration on current honeycomb roms? Then may be launcher problem will be solved.

Live wallpaper or not. theres a big diffference between the launchers in the various firmwares. And some have almost none of the studdering.
HoneyComb 3.2 version is available!

List of removed applications from CM9:
WIP
Q&A
Q: What build version of CM9 is insanity ii cm based off?
A: Each insanity iii cm release is built off the latest source at the time of release.
Q: nitrality wont download the apks I want or they are zero bytes in size.
A: Delete the nitrality folder under /sdcard/insanity/ and refresh
Q: Calendar wont sync
A: Install gapps, then calender, calendar provider and google calendar sync from nitrality
Q: Do I have to wipe between versions
A: This ROM installs without wiping your data, if you want to wipe, place a file or folder called "wipe" inside the /sdcard/insanity/ folder.
Q: I have no external sdcard
A: look at /mnt/extSdCard/
Q: How do I change DPI in insanity. ( Screen Resolution )
A: Open apps drawer and run nitrality, select UI Tweaks and then Display Resolution. (Default for this rom is 182. Standard Samsung DPI is 240)
Q: Where can I get the Google Apps zip file?
A: Post 2 of this thread has the link
Q: After flashing I get a boot loop
A: First try flashing the rom a second time, this might fix it, if not, wipe dalvik cache and cache and then reflash the rom twice again NOT rebooting in between flashes
A2: If you cannot get the phone to boot at all then try the following:
Use odin to flash any cf root kernel.. Uncheck 'auto reboot' first
Once odin finishes pull the battery, put it back in.
using the 3 button press, get into recovery.
Wipe 'System' from mounts and storage, also wipe dalvik cache
Reflash latest rom.
Reboot.
Q: I cannot get KIES to work
A: This is an Android based Rom so Samsung specific apps will NOT work.
Yeah! The names and well known roms just keep rolling in. This is so cool. Welcome to the party.

Hey Wayne, just a request...when u were on the i9000, u had ROMS which were Samsung-Based, then later u followed the CM route...
Those Stock based Stripped Roms were LEGENDARY, like insanity 7.2 Froyo ! Super fast n rock stable ! On the other hand, CM being great & the fastest ,somehow just never utilizes the full Gaming and Video Related Potential of the phone due to closed source stuff,etc.....
So a request, if its possible for u, make an alternate Insanity Stock-based ROM for the i9300.....maybe u can update it like once a month or something..
Again, no demands, just a request....:fingers-crossed:

Hey Galaxy Note 10.1 users!
I wanted to share my current ROM "in the works", it's not complete yet (and probably never will be) but this is a personal ROM I based off the stock ROM and adding new features as we go long.
I used to do a lot of ROM reviews, and this ROM is "noob-friendly" and designed for people who want to experience custom ROMs without losing stock features.
If you are a "purist" and want CM9/CM10, you are probably not going to like this ROM, just wait until another developer/Cyanogen/AOKP Team makes a ROM for you.
It's a custom ROM with focus on couple things:
1. Keeping TouchWiz, so you get all features of stock ROM like S-Pen.
2. Adding new cool features one baby step at a time.
3. Listening to users and improving upon every version update. I am trying to remove some of the bloatware (let me know which ones you absolutely think should be removed) and also add more features (let me know what features you absolutely think are necessary).
*WARNING - You assume ALL responsibility by flashing this ROM, I will not be responsible if anything happens to your Note 10.1!
Features:
- Based off Stock European XXALG5.
- Custom Bootanimation support (place bootanimation.zip in /system/media folder)
- App2SD support (When you have a microSD inserted, it will swap your microSD and internal storage on boot. To disable, simply take out microSD card during boot and insert after booting.) If you are doing this the first time, you might want to contents of your internal storage to microSD card to keep app data. This allows you to use up to 64GB for app storage instead of 16/32GB it comes with.
- Google Now
- Speed tweaks for 3G/HSPA+/WiFi
- Power saving features
- Graphic acceleration for your photos/videos
- Deodexed/Zipaligned
- More coming soon!
ChangeLog:
v0.2 Added App2SD support, Jelly Bean Animations.
v0.1 Custom Bootanimations, GoogleNow, speed tweaks for 3G/HSPA+/WiFi, power saving features, and graphic acceleration so your photos/videos should be higher quality.
Installation Guide:
- Easy install, just flash in ClockworkMod Recovery!
- No factory reset/wipe needed if coming from a stock ROM. (You can always do that after installing ROM if you have problems.) Do a factory reset though if you are coming from CM9/CM10/AOKP!
- No Cache/Dalvik Cache wipe needed, it's built into the ROM.
- PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ROM BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ROM! It makes like much easier when you can do a one-click restore ROM in CWM Recovery. Backing up your ROM will backup all your settings and apps.
*Note - This ROM is for GT-N8000! Please do not flash on GT-N8013 the wifi version, I will make another version for it soon.

There's a way to not increase binary, if you use the ODIN injection method to get root then push the recovery image using DD. I will have instructions up for that soon unless u know how.
Appreciate it, i will fiqure it out, thanks again bro !

I think that's a general problem with GT-N8000 and many of the newer ICS devices like One X and GS3 also, I just turn that off usually. But I will look into it and see if I can fix.
Just a question.
Within the first minute of the video, when you start S-Memo, it says:
"Syncing Notes"
What does it sync to?
My Galaxy Note N7000 does not have an auto sync feature and I hate doing manual syncs/backups.
Thanks.
S-Planer Widget
Is the S-Planer widget still bound to the stock Touchwiz Launcher ? I'm using ADW and I'd love to use that widget on it but Samsung managed it that in ADW it won't show up in the widget list
Sony´s Bravia Engine would be a nice addition to the ROM.
:fingers-crossed:
I should get my N8000 on Monday and will flash your ROM
Thanks for your great work!
