DISCLAIMER: You know the drill, I am not responsible if loading this rom makes your Tab melt, explode, disintegrate, or cause harm to anyone near it. (I am fairly certain none of that will happen though )
Change log in second post.
Welcome to The Overcome Experience - 10.1 Edition . For those of you that don’t know me, let me introduce myself. I am AlterBridge86, the creator of The Overcome Experience. I started developing a ROM on the OG Galaxy Tab (P1000) about 9 months ago and have moved on to having my own brand of ROM’s, Kernels, and Recoverys. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P75xx) is the second device now to get a “Overcome Series” ROM, however it will most definitely not be the last.
My mission is simple. I aim to vastly improve the stock user experience on Samsung devices. I think that Samsung makes fantastic hardware, however fails to bring the same level of software quality to their devices. This is where I step in. I take the base rom, as provided by Samsung, and perform further optimization and modification to it. My mods aim not to completely customize the user interface, but rather add some very useful key functionality while retaining the “stock android” look.

About Overcome CWM Recovery
At its core, Overcome CWM Recovery v5.1.2.6 is the traditional ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6. However, I have heavily modified the interface layout as well as added some very helpful functionality. You will notice this as soon as you enter recovery. I urge you to peruse the recovery and check out the options available to you. You will get to use some of these options during the install following our thorough guide.
Install Instructions
If you have some form of CWM on your device already, simply download the ROM, and install zip through CWM. Be sure to wipe data to ensure a clean install!
If you do NOT have CWM on your device already or you want to start completely fresh, I STRONGLY urge you to read the excellent guide that we have put together to fully "restock" your system and get Overcome installed

Either that or teamovercome.com is down
I know I am stoked. Great accomplishment.

Feels really smooth and solid.
And now the Allshare video works for me, when running TASK650's ROM that didn't work. Don't now if I have set up it differently or if it is the rom that is the answer that is have started to work.
Look forward to the next release and hoping for a fast kernel soon

this is amazing, I'll try it soon - just curious if this rom has support for ntfs file storage devices and also game controllers yet

trying out now..
PS: the kernel made by secretfile has this support..i use to have pershoot's kernel and it always had that issue..but with secretfile's kernel it workd like a charm..
http://www.multiupload.com/ZKSYZGJMK4
dunno if its compatible with overcome release..
EDIT: USB Debugging is on and the i am also able to connect to the laptop and transfer files..used the full package..

Soooo, does it support the 7500 3g then?

yes it does.
I´m doing it from scratch, so back to stock and then overcome(p7500).
there is a mistake in the guide on the overcome site
4. Now click on the “PIT” button, and a file selection window should open. Look for the following file “android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit” (not applicable for P7500) in the extracted folder (under KME ODIN) and select it. Next click the “PDA” button, and select the “P7510XABKME_P7510UEKME_HOME.tar” file. (If P7500, select the “P7500OXAKI1_P7500XXKI1_P7500XXKI1_HOME.tar.md5″ file)
Click to collapse
The fat part is the incorrect part.
Odin gives following error:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Re-Partition operation failed
what I did is.
Use clockwork recovery to repartition after that use odin without using a PIT.
Flash with odin and manually reset to factory in recovery mode

ok cool ill check it out then

awesome rom!
Thank you for this man !
Finally using the galaxy tab 10.1 in all its (stable) glory!
Pershoots kernel used to overclock, using setcpu to 1.4 ghz is working too !
Love it !
Cheers

The bug reports had quite a bit about WoW and BoB text issues. Did you fix 'most' of these? Not gonna expect you to get all of em

Going to post on bug tracker, but the new release lost wifi-N network support.

Absolutely fantistic news! gonna give it a go tomorrow

The link to download the 7510 updater file is broken on the install guide page.

Is adblock working for you guys? The stock browser doesn't block ads on Facebook. Or did I just miss something....
Sweet Rom! Thanks for update (And the original!!!.)

Excellent question. However, my answer is a bit vague: Not sure.
I _thought_ it did with the previous version of Overcome. I may have simply _thought_ that it did given the ad-block statement in the OP and that I use adblock on my pc and mac. In fact, I was a bit startled when I saw the ads.... Mebbe I just didn't notice before.... Not to get OT, but I prefer to pay devs for aps directly whenever possible.
So, back to my original question: should ads be blocked in FB, with the included browser or other browsers? Bug? No bug?
I really appreciate the tremendous amount of work it take to churn out a quality product like this.
Cheers!

Nero v2 w/voodoo 5.0.1 - really fast! Thanks Supercurio!
Nero v2 w/stock JL4 kernel - *coming later tonight*
Mirror:
Nero v2 w/voodoo 5.0.1
NOTE: If you do not want to run voodoo, simply flash the rom, then disable voodoo via instructions below. Essentially, you will be running a stock kernel at this point.
Voodoo 5.0.1 Details:
- Supports larger nand chip
- Converts full system partition to ext4
- Incredibly fast, solid, and stable. Much better than rfs or ext2 file system
- Disable voodoo directly via clock work recovery
Installing Nero v2 w/voodoo 5.0.1:
1. Place nero_v2_voodoo.zip on internal sdcard
2. Disable ANY and ALL other lagfixes (yes, this includes ext2 one click lagfix! You cannot run both)
3. Reboot into clock work recovery via rom manager or manually
4. Select 'install zip from sdcard'
5. Select 'choose zip from sdcard'
6. Select 'Nero_2_voodoo.zip'
7. Select 'Yes - install Nero_2_voodoo.zip'
8. Wait for installation to finish
9. Reboot
10. Once reboot is selected, your complete file system will be converted to 'ext4', this will take roughly 2-4 minutes. Please be patience and wait. You will hear Linda's voice telling you that its being converted, this is how you know its working.
11. Your phone will finish booting after conversion. Now you're done!
12. You MUST disable voodoo first if you decide to flash anything else - instructions below
Disable Voodoo:
1. Reboot into clock work recovery via rom manager or manually
2. In CWR menu, select 'voodoo lagfix'
3. Select 'disable lagfix'
4. Select 'go back'
5. Select 'reboot system now'
6. Your file system will now be converted back to rfs. This will take about 2-4 minutes, be patient!
7. Once your phone reboots, reboot back into clock work recovery and you may now flash anything of your choice
And to think I was going to go to sleep without checking XDA. Many thanks to everyone that has worked on getting this out (that includes everyone that used the betas to find problems).
Look forward to seeing what is in store beyond this.
Nice! Downloading now!
Hell yeah its official now.
Flashed over fine with Supercurio's stock JL1 with voodoo5. Totally diggin the drunken clam bootscreen. Now time to run it through some tests. So far so good though!

So far soo good. I have been only texting myself lol but it vibrates fine and sends MMS fine. I havent encountered the blank messaging screen yet and i have been running through it quite a bit. All seems well. just gonna run some more tests with other kernels to see what I like best. So far for the performance/good battery the stock JL1 with voodoo5 has been my favorite with Nero b3.
Messaging is black and white again, is it the default one? Can we have the stock mms from Samsung?

Thanks, I think the OP should always include SS of the new rom. It seems like this rom doesn't have battery mod :-( ?
I understand the better performance of Nero v1 but i am just so nostalgic about Beta 3 look.. the notification bar, the messaging app, and the boot up screen especially
Looks like we're off to a good start. For those who don't already know, this thread is following the new suggestion from the town meeting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871476
Another suggestion:
If you want to say "Thanks" (or similar) to the OP, use the provided button. If you need to post such comments like "Thanks", "Downloading now!", etc (if that's all you want to say) instead merely click the "Thanks" button alone. It will reduce clutter and increase the readability of this thread. That's what I plan to do if I decide to try it. Again, it's merely a suggestion for keeping things clean while this thread is still fairly short.
For those that are asking about the Haptic feedback, the OP says it's working (for the keyboard, at least).
Any way to have this Rom uploaded to a Hosting site?
For some reason I've been getting horrible speeds off the server.
1076B/Sec - 22 hours left!
Thanks!
Ahh, I just installed beta3 lastnight. Guess I can put this in before I get all into beta3. many thanx, having a lot of fun with my new phone after years of windows mobile crap.
Is OCLF supposed to now work in team whiskey's roms? And then, if not, why is it included? On that note... any word on the ULF kernel? I've been trying to find one with decent battery life but that hasn't happened yet.

[ROM] Heathens SGS II Clone V2 [KB5] Updated 5/17/11

I was asked to do an SGS II clone. Here it is.
This rom is a one off deal and is FINAL. <---- It was supposed to be anyway...
V2 Stats and changes from V1:
KB5 Base
cmenards awesome Bullet Kernel - Disabled by default
This kernel includes the following:
Ability to OC to 1.420Ghz
Safe boots to 1Ghz
Voodoo Sound v7
Voodoo Color
Voodoo Lagfix
CIFS
Use setCPU to enable the 1.420Ghz step. Please DON'T try to set screen off profiles below 800mhz on this one. Don't select set at boot unless your really sure it's stable on your phone. Make a backup of you existing kernel with SGS Kernel Flasher. Blah Blah Blah
Recommenced SetCPU profiles:
Main 100-1420/conservative
Charging 100-1000/conservative
8 Lockscreens mod by Whitehawkx
Extended power options - 4 tab by default, Miui rethemed as Meizu M9
Reboot, download, recovery images from Lidroid.
EDT Tweaks
All other theming from SGS II - Apps, battery, pulldown etc.
SGS II Live Wallpapers.
SGS II boot animation and sound.
Wifi-calling and non blurry mms with smilies.
TW4 mod by Whitehawkx
Several new live wallpapers
Mostly de-bloated.
Fixed clear all button along with several other minor bugs
Replaced handle with non-dropshadow version
Install:
Optional: Start with a fresh ODIN
Download SGSII.V2.Final.zip and save to your sdcard
Boot into recovery
Factory reset three times
Wipe Cache Partition
Flash SGSII.V2.Final.zip
Wipe Dalvik
Fix permissions
Reboot
It is preferable that you give the phone 15 minutes before digging in and then reboot.
Notes:
Rom has been designed with all of its components in mind.
The kernel was chosen specifically for this rom, and the system has been optimized to support it.
Titanium sucks in my opinion, so be careful with what you will restore - even if you have done it 1000 times, you may break the system.
Rom is supported and runs best the way it has been built, changing the kernel, modem, etc.. will change the system - you are on your own from that point.
I have not experienced it but some say the launcher may crash at reboot, if it does then let it sit and choose force close and let it reload.
Please do not report a bug that is already reported on every page.
Please read this OP and the thread, if the question you are asking has already been covered, you can expect for no response from me.

I guess its not really a hijack since its the same dev team...
(Well, they haven't made a specific thread on XDA yet)
But the "Asgard" Rom over on the EDT forums is also worth a checkout. (For the SGSII Flavor of the month goodness)
Played with it for a day and seems to be very nice as well.
(Though its actually GB, so theres some stuff to iron out - ie gps)
Twiz 4.0 is actually pretty nice (imo)
Though I still like a scrollable dock

Yes, Asgard is the real deal. This is a clone. Made to fill a request. 2.2 is on its way out so you shouldn't expect too many more builds from it. I do highly suggest Asgard for your GB rom.

A lot of people need GPS on a daily basis and this is where this rom comes in. I can't wait to give this a try, I was never a Touchwiz fan but 4.0 is pretty shiny. When drivers for the GPS are finally released and we start seeing working GPS in GB roms then I'll make the permanent switch over (I've just used GB roms for short periods at a time). Until then, I'll be using this and other 2.2 and 2.2.1 roms.

About Overcome CWM Recovery
At its core, Overcome CWM Recovery v4.1.1.5 is the traditional ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.5.
If you already have Overcome 10.1 Series v1.0.0 installed, you can use the updater zip found in the downloads section of the website. This is a small zip that will update only the changed files, leaving all your data in tact.

Welcome, your very needed. looking forward to follow your work here
Welcome.!!
Was a happy surprise this . Hope this runs as god as the rom you have done for the 7" tab and that Iam really satisfied with.
Now just hope the overclock kernel isn't so far away.
Any words on how this ROM perform with "pershoot" kernel?
Best Galaxy Tab ROM now for the tab 10.1 .
Great to have another Dev on board. I will definitely be watching this thread and trying this out.
ROM- freakin'-tastic! I am stoked....... welcome, "Overcome 10.1" !!
Uh oh....haha I've gotta check this one out.. finally a power menu that can do more than shut off! Thanks bro!

Hey alter, is there a custom kernel in this already? I see you mention kernel features, but its blank. I wasn't sure if ti was blank because its not done yet and not implemented, or it ia implemented but you just didn't finish getting the sources together.

Wow Alter, this is brilliant - I was a fan of yours on the previous Tab !! I've since moved to the 10.1 - it is great to see more ROMs coming here !! Just got a question whether there will be a version for the 3G model (7500).
Cheers
wow. must be an excellent release. Really want to give it a try right away.
Thanks. Does that make sense to update the market also to version 3?

It sure looks like it man. You haven't given an ok?
Looks like a great rom for a great device. Could you perhaps support pershoots kernel as it is already heavily optimized and I would like to use the combination of your rom with his kernel.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
I dont see why this wouldnt support it though.
found this on his site:
FAQs
Q. Why is stock kernel included and not custom?
A: The stock kernel is included because the source currently available does not work 100% on the new Touchwiz UX roms. Using the stock kernel ensures that users get the most reliable and well-performing installation. Once the new TOuchwiz UX source is released, I will begin work on an Overcome Kernel for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

Hmm it looks same to me also..
So... What's going on here? Is this a legit ROM or just a ripoff of Task650's?
Aside from the UI, has anyone compared their performance?
Thanks

Install instructions:
Do a nandroid backup in CWM (always backup b4 flashing!)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Then flash the zip file (It will automatically restart once its done flashing)
Enjoy!

Finally a custom for the P8610! Looks great; can't wait till public release.
Sweet! Some much needed love for the 6810
I might be interested in having a go with the slim version of the rom,if and when i get the time!
Waiting for 6800 also, no have any progress to this much
Thanks for this work.
I installed the slim version, no problems.
A little guesswork until I got language set to english.
I spent a couple of hours setting up accounts and half dozen apps I usually install from market.
All worked fine, nice and smooth scrolling.
Root, superuser, busybox etc all good.
Enhanced power off works well, tried reboot, recovery all good.
Only glitch I noticed was I couldn't get Gesture Control free [to hide taskbar] working properly.
(This app works fine on the LB4 kernel, maybe it has problems with other kernels)
Looks like you have a great formula (and skill) for cooking up roms! Congratulations
Edit: also working for me on slim: bluetooth mouse/kbd, usb adapter, hdmi adapter.

Hmmm.... I'll see if i can ask Xenix96 if there's a new firmware for TGY and if so, i'll try to cook that new version now that I know what i'm doin Plus I had a lot of help from Task650 and sk806. I wouldn't have been able to do this without their help!
looking forward to this rom - sounds like you have made a good rom dude!!
Been running the full version all day now. Started off a little laggy but is much better now. All the Apps work but also Gesture Control paid version not working. Took the kids out today so a good test in their hands. My four year old watched a movie off connected usb no problem and his favourite Angry Birds worked as normal. I also removed the widgets off the screen as I like the minimal.
My steps today...For my own testing
Put Rom onto internal sd.
Enter CWM take a fresh backup of current setup.
Then while in CWM Wipe Data/Factory reset and Wipe Cache.
Flash n00b Rom.
Let it boot and set up. Only took a few minutes to have running.
Let apps install from market. then make sure all working.
Went back to CWM full wipe and restored my backup. All working well.
Back to CWM and reflashed Noob Rom and now testing.
I was keen to make sure everything was working. Waiting for a Rom doesn't give too many opportunities to test.
I'm not very techy but am satisfied so far with the performance and the light theming looks great. This will only get better. Very worthy start for the Dev. Good work.
Gesture control doesn't work properly on the 6810 yet, I'm helping the Dev with logs to find out why
so its not just this ROM

Good to know it works if you have any issues with the Rom, then it may be TWRP. I know with my s4 rom, TWRP causes problems. I haven't had enough time to play around with recoveries for this device. besides, I've only had it for a week haha
Thanks so much for this. Cant wait to try it.
Edit, just finished loading it up. so far so good. everything loaded up easy and smooth. one thing i noticed right away is the transparent weather widget isnt transparent when in landscape mode. thanks for a great rom.

You shouldn't have any real issues with google play services other than the nagging warning once in a while. It was a last minute update I shouldn't have done before releasing haha
Since u include exposed framework in the rom I hope during the install we have the option weither to install or not. I will admit I am not up to speed with exposed. But after reading several thread discussing how this is working on the Note 4. Have downloaded the rom but not installed yet. May wait for the problems mentioned to be fixed and the next released post. Thanks for want I know is alot of your time and work.
I am currently running CM11 with MH8... I'm guessing I'll need to use Odin to get to NK1 ... Does anyone have the file or link to the file to do so? Or just point me in the direction. I already have cwm recovery. Thanks for any help I'm advance.

Your best bet is go back to mh8 stock, take the ota, flash the custom recovery of your choice then flash this rom. It ensures you're up to date

Okay. I actually had a stock rooted backup of MH9 and its installed and working. If I do the OTA will I lose root? If so will the current way of flashing recovery and root work via odin? Again thanks for your patience. I swear I'm not as noob as I sound. I just have used this device in a long while.

Actually you will need complete stock for ota to work. Sammobile.Com carries stock firmwares. Flash it using Odin, boot it up, wait for the OTA and take it, then flash recovery. Flashing the Rom will give you root again
Should we be able to dirty flash the update?
Looking forward to the update. Actually can't use gmail or inbox because of the play services.
What is the recommendation with the zram thing. Not to familiar with it.
Thanks
