[Q] Having trouble connecting Thrill to Pc - LG Thrill 4G

I 've downloaded the LG thrill driver and everytime I connect the phone to my pc, drives E and F pop up but when I click on them it says please insert disk into drive. I've formatted the F drive and still the same thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you mount them on your phone? In your notification bar, there should be a notification that you connected a USB and if you click on it, it should give you the option to connect to the PC.

Yes. I clicked the option to enable usb on the phone.

When you installed the drivers, did it show that all of them were successfully installed? Maybe try re-installing them?

Did you go into sd and storage settings and uncheck mass storage mode only? Uncheck that to enable the other usb modes and devices.

windows 7 as well.

Which cable are you using? have you tried a different one?
when you put the drivers on did you manually install them or did you run through the process windows does after plugging in the phone
And are you positive you got the correct drivers? Remember...uninstall the old drivers before attempting new install

I'm pretty sure they are the right drivers, and yes I uninstalled them
after trying to hook up my wife's inspire and getting the same result, I believe it's my computer, I just don't know what it is.

Bad USB port? Do you have another PC you can use?

Well I fixed it! The solution was to simply re-boot my PC with the phone plugged in! Thank you all again for your suggestions!

[Q] Computer no longer detects my phone

When I flashed my phone back down to 2.1 using Odin3 from the leaked 2.2, my computer was still able to detect my phone when plugged in using USB. I reinstalled Titanium backup and restored all my apps and now my computer no longer detects my phone as being plugged in.
Development mode is on and it still charges when plugged into the computer but nothing else. I can't mount it the sdcard to transfer files either.
I've installed and reinstalled SGH-i897_Captivate_USB_Drivers_5_02_0_2 and the drivers in the Odin3 thread several times and nothing has worked. Anyone else got ideals?

I used to get the "windows can't find the drivers to this" or "windows did not correctly install the drivers."
Now not even that shows up anymore.

Ok so I found the problem. It has something to do w/ the software update, which seemed to be kept on for some reason. Everytime I restarted the phone it said communication error w/ the server, it does this without me even touching software update. So I turned off wifi and 3g, effectively turning off the software update and now my computer detects the phone. I don't know why this is, but it worked.

That would be a possible fix IF the option was there when u pull down the status bar. In my situation the USB symbol never appears. Even when I go into settings and mount the SD card there, it doesn't work.

Erm, okay:
-Unlock your phone's screen; rest it at homescreen
-Connect your already-plugged-into-computer USB cable to phone (in a timely fashion, before the screen autolocks)
-See if you get a noti' (and if not, then how does the phone respond when you plug your cable into it?)

Are you using the Samsung cable that came with the phone? Some computers don't like it. My Mac refuses to mount my Captivate with the Samsung cable. Try a Motorola cable if you can find one.
Have you looked through the options available in the "Captivate Connection Issues" thread? You might find something in there to help you out.

[Q] Rooting w/o USB connection

Hi, guys! I have a really big problem :/. Right now I'm using the stock 2.3.4 gingerbread from LG ,but you all know that this is the worst OS ever. I wanted to get rid of it but i cant connect my device to the computer. It's only charging. I need a way to root it w/o usb connection. Do u have any suggestions? It's not a software problem! Something inside the phone is broken and i don't know what it is. Is there a way to root it via bluetooth or SD card? I didn't find any apps to root it too. I know gingerbreak etc, but they dont work for 2.3.4. Thank you in advance and i hope there is a solution. :fingers-crossed:
I am afraid you can't. Replacing your micro usb port could solve your problem. I reccomend to buy a micro usb port which is already on the flexible cable so you can avoid ironing.

So i'll need this? I asked a staff member in a service station and he said that the port isnt broken. So i need the whole thing port+flexible cable? Is that what i should do? Thanks alot. Ohh man i cant post links still: http:___//i.ebayimg.com/t/LG-G2X-Optimus-2X-P990-P999-Micro-USB-Charging-Port-Flex-Cable-Repair-Part-/00/s/OTU1WDE0MDI=/z/unUAAOxy9DRSAoTf/$T2eC16R,!wsE9suwycosBS!oTe7+VQ~~60_57.JPG
stupid question: did you try another usb cable or usb port?
Yeah, dude. Of course. I've tried different settings like usb debugging on/off too but still nothing.
here are some articles you might want to check out regarding usb connection

i forgot how the mass storage settings in gingerbread look like but there should be an option to put the phone in "charge only" mode (which you should disable)... pressing menu key in settings > storage doesn't give you any options to choose?
In gingerbread you can only turn usb mass storage and usb debugging on/off. These settings didn't help. I'll read more about the first link you gave me and try it out.

This is quite challenge, root without usb connection. First idea I got to use ADB over WiFi, but this is available from ICS, not on GB.
Second idea - what I remember, some of root methods use APK installation over ADB by script. Maybe you can search for these script methods and place all required files on SD Card. Then try to execute commands by terminal on device itself to install and root.
It's just my idea, maybe wrong, maybe help.

Yes that is what you need if you have to replace your USB port but you don't have skills to replace only the usb port.
You can try gingerbreak to root your phone, but it maybe won't work.

I'm not aware of ADB and scripting. Can you give me sоme guidelines?(I'm sorry 'bout my english. I hope you understand)
p.s. I found some info about ADB. So you need ADB to control your device via commands, but you can use ADB on your computer? You say that i have to find a way to use ADB on my phone so it controls itself and roots?

Guys, the problem is not in the computer nor in the cable, it's in the phone. I'm 99% sure that it's a hardware problem. So i need to find a way to root or flash it without using usb connection.
i'm somehow sure that the real problem here is the device driver installation on your PC/Windows, not the phone...
btw which windows version are you using?
did you try checking out the AIO tool thread?

if you read the 1st post, you might find out how could it help you... especially if you use win 8 which caused problems for many other users when trying to install the drivers or trying to flash the phone...
I - Install APX (NVFlash Recovery) Drivers if not already installed.
It starts the windows device driver wizard to help you install the drivers needed for NVFlash. It detects your system OS and gives additional on-screen instructions needed if your PC is running Windows 8.
FYI: The drivers are located under ToolKitFiles\nvflash\driver folder.

I use windows 8 from a week. Anything i've done before was on a xp/ win 7. The problem isnt in the win 8 i use now. I've tried everything on my xp laptop. I have a friend who has the same phone and he can connect it to his computer so everything is fine with his computer. I've tried to connect my optimus to his computer and again it wasnt found by the computer. The problem must be in my device.
I'll try installing the APX drivers.

USB not recognized

Hello, got an issue that I cannot seem to figure out. Got a nexus 6 on factory stock LMY47E that will not recognize any of my computers via usb. I've tried everything, uninstalling the drivers (as per the Wugfresh toolkit), complete factory restore - nothing. Windows doesn't show anything connected in device manager, or doesn't make any connection sound. I have another Nexus 6 that works with the usb no problem, and shows in device manager. Now, if I reboot into the bootloader, windows makes the connection sound but nothing shows up in device manager. It does have usb access in fastboot, and will write factory image with the toolkit. But when I try and install TWRP with the tool kit it reboots the phone and the usb doesn't recognize so it cannot finish. I've tried un-checking/re-checking MTP, tried un-checking/re-checking usb debugging - nothing. Is something possibly corrupt? Am I missing something?
I have read through the help and tried this guide here with still the same results, no usb connection in windows after everything is completed.
Appreciate any help
Thanks
anyone?? even a nudge in the right direction would help lol
in the developer options, did you go ahead and set what you want your usb to do? if not, it has no idea..
I'm thinking possible bad cable. Had that happen to me and my 6 until I changed out the cable. After that, worked like a charm.
Also, is it windows 8 or 10?

OTG drive not being detected on rooted note 8

I used to connect my OTG before that without any problems, but now it's not being detected at all
Any solutions?
I tried restarted while device is connected, and turned on off USB debugging
Nothing happens

Try using it on another android device. If it works then there is an issue with the custom OS installed on your device.
It is in Fat 32
I tried another USB too
also changed type to exFat32

Initially stock firmware, now deluxeROM

In that case try manually reinstalling the OS back onto your device. As there is a chance that something went wrong with the rooting process.

I reinstalled OS now it says connected and then disconnected , it goes for cycle for few times and then not gets detected . Will try in another mobile
I connected my OTG to other Android device and got same error, then
I formated my OTG in Mac and re connected to my mobile, it got detected once then again it is not getting detected
In both device, but now again it's not getting detected in my mobile but being detected in other mobile .
Other mobile has USB setting which I am sharing here, I can't seemed to find these settings in my mobile while it is connected to OTG
