Back to stock? - Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7 Development

Hi
Omnia 7 received this morning.
Its on 7.10.7712.60 which from what I've seen here is Mango beta.
I want it to be a generic stock Omnia 7 with no beta software. Is it as simple as flashing a ROM? I dont need to restore any personal data or anything like that?
Thanks, a bit rusty on the WP7 front as not flashed an Omnia since back in February!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420
read that. And after downloading the 8700XXJK1 ## 2010 November CSC_Cetus_Europe_I8700XENJK1, keep the files with extensions .eb0 .nb0 and .bin. Then look for the files with .csc extensions and delete everyone BUT signed_CSC_Cetus_Europe_I8700TMUJJ6.csc (Stock T-Mobile UK ROM) those should be all the files you need

Discovery? I think I found an easy way to upgrade ROMS

Hey guys, I'm new to this side of the forums. Just bought a Treo 750 and I think I like better than my old Hermes.
Anyways, I didn't have a MicroSD card adapter to format my card, so I did a little bit of risk taking and decided to flash my ROM any way I could (I'm impatient). What I did was take the custom RUU updater from the Patcher/Unlocker and upgraded using that. I'm not sure if this is already posted somewhere, and I didn't see it, but I think its pretty cool and easier than formating an SD card every time you need to upgrade ROMS.
Here is what I did.
Find the ROM I wanted
http://palmone.r3h.net/downloads.palm.com/Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Having 7-zip installed, I decompressed the File and found CHEEIMG_FW.nbh
I then renamed that to: CHEEIMG_FW.nbh
I made a new folder and put the RUUWrapper and CHEEIMG_FW.nbh into the same folder.
finally, I just hit all the buttons and checked all the boxes to upgrade my ROM.
Now, I have windows Mobile 6.0 (from 5.0) on my Treo.
I am thinking that I can do this to the Radio also, but I'm a little scared to try it. If anyone is brave to tested and tell me, I'd really appreciate it.
I have attached the RUUWrapper that the Cheetah Patcher/Unlocker comes with. Obviously I didn't really make anything.
If this has already been posted, Just delete this thread...Just trying to bring new in site.

flash only OS CHEEIMG_FW.nbh
great discovery!

Not sure if the above is a Typo.
You said you renamed CHEEIMG_FW.nbh to CHEEIMG_FW.nbh

So is this only updated OS and not the Radio?
Wow, sorry...
What I meant was name the file CheetahPatched.nbh
I don't know if it matters what name it is, aslong as its in the folder it might work.
But, if that doesnt work, just name the rom to CheetahPatched.nbh
I don't know if the Radio Rom will be upgraded as well, but I guess you could be brave and try it.
Since my last post I went ahead and tried it.
Everything went smoothly.
Radio did infact show a newer version 1.54.01.
But,.....
It could just be something I did wrong on my end, but the SW still was 1.13 CNG.
So I went ahead and flashed the Official ATT 2.25, and then it still said 1.13 CNG.
Finally, I flashed the RWE the normal way (editing the payloads.xml) and now everything shows the correct Sw & Fw.
So I may have just had an isolated issue.
If another person comes along and gives your flashing method a run and everything updates correctly, then I will be convinced it was just my isolated issue.
Thanks either way.
Berd
Mine says 1.13ATT...I really don't know much about the Treo Phone, since I moved froma Hermes, so I don't know what that really means lol.
I believe you need to run "UpdInfo.CAB" extracted from the updater version to get the ROM version to read correctly...

I just tried this method to 'downgrade' my radio version. It went through all of the motions, and then ended up not having changed it at all.
Never mind - it was worth a try.
I haven't tried using this method for upgrades of radio though, so it'll be good to find out if it works for that..
Hope it works out for you, if you need a SD card, I think buy.com has a 4 gig for 15 bucks right now, free shipping. that way you can upgrade the normal way.

Best dutch rom

Hey, I got a MDA compact IV branded from tmobile, but its starting to get on my nerves, and I want the original theme, so I figured I've got to put a new ROM on, now what rom is the best for a Dutch tmobile MDA compact Iv?
thanks in advance
i use A.Z.T.O.R. X2 (V11)Ultimate NLD based on latest Official ROM
you can find it here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422417
there aren't many dutch roms, but this is probably the best one.
It seems to be nice and clean... Just a heavily tweaked ROM.
But these are Diamond ROM's, are they good for the MDAcompactIV?
Another thing, when the next Dutch ROM update comes from T-Mobile (if it ever comes) will I be able to update?

I also got a MDA Compact IV...since 2 weeks I run the aztor v11 rom, and man what a difference. Much faster.
Just try..
Okay, all good.
But here comes the noob question... I already dl-ed the [rar] file, there's a [exe] file in the as well as a [nbh] file. Are these the only files needed for flashing my rom? How do I do it? Do I run the [exe] file on my PC or my phone?
Tnx in advance...
Ok, I've tried two times to do the update as I just ran the [exe] file on my PC, but I get the [262] update error.
When it updating the bar sticks on 0%, as well on my phone. Luckily after detaching the battery for 3 seconds, my phone just soft resets. What now???
I've done some research but with all the different versions and languages I got really confused. I need another spl to install the [nbh] in order to update the X2 update. But I cant find a way to run the [nbh] file.
I'm also afraid that I'll ruin my MDA. So I searched for a original spl and ROM, but I can't seem to find the right one. I also unable to determine which spl I have on my MDA. It should be a dutch T-Mobile ROM (& spl???). The warranty period isn't over yet so I might need it. (But I hope not of course).
This flashing thing is really confusing...
Same problem
I have exactly the same problem trying to change the ROM from uk vodaphone to Duttys V4. The strange thing for me is that I have 2 Diamonds (his and hers) and the first one went through the process like a dream.
I'd be very grateful to find a fix

First I ran Olinex hard-spl 1.40, after that I rename the .nbh file tot DIAMIMG.NBH, copy that file to your internal storage and than flash from the internal storage. Read this
If above is still abacadabra send me a pm, then I will translate this in dutch.
best rom questions?
to find out whats best for you is to start flashing.
this question is not welcome here on this forum.

Latest Vodaphone UK shipped ROM for HD Mini?

I see that Photon hosts some shipped ROMS.
My Girlfriend has just purchased a UK Vodaphone HD Mini and I wonder if there is a new shipped ROM as there are only patches available on the Vodaphone UK site?
The current ROM on her phone is 1.07.401.1 (85429) WWE
ROM date 21st March 2010
Radio: 0.63.05.05
Many thanks
EDIT: Whoops... Sorry! used the search! I'm dyslexic and sometime find it hard to sort through textual information.
Vodafone haven't released their ROM yet (as you have already noticed from their website), they must still be testing/modding it. They are always a bit behind the curve in releasing Vodafone "approved" ROMs.
If you want the newest version ROM on your device you'll need to use SSPL and the 1.36.401.1 ROM posted up on conflipper's site. (Follow the shipped ROMs link from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701507 )
Not impressed - it seems posting this has possibly drawn attention to the shipped ROMs site and the account has been suspended...
I should have exercised some impatience and downloaded the ROM this morning rather than driving 200 miles home only to find the files no longer available. :O(
The main Shipped ROMs site has been suspended after HTC got heavy with Conflipper, though they have agreed to allow already posted ROMs to remain.
You can find the HD Mini ROMs Here
Ahhh... Many thanks
Downloaded and attempted to upgrade the stock ROM with a stock update...
Invalid Vender ID at 1% falshing then dropped out.
Had a look for a Hard SPL for the Mini and it seems that it's not yet available for this device. (I wish she'd bought an HD2 now... )
So how do I go about updating the stock UK ROM to a newer stock ROM when it's in an *.exe file?
Is there some way to extract the ROM image and hence use DFT_SSPL_MINI.exe to update the ROM?
The stock ROM *.exe file it's a rar archive and contains different files (RUU, nbh, dll, etc). You can try to extract the *.nbh file and run it with mini_spl in the same folder.
BUT, it's just an ideea, maybe i'm wrong, i never tried this way since my phone it's not branded.
I already tried opening the exe with WinRAR (I'm on V3.93) but no option to extract. Any other ideas?
WinRAR or 7Zip should give an 'extract' option, but they don't always.
The only other method is to connect the phone to the PC and run the update EXE file, agree the changes but don't continue to the start of the flash itself.
This process will have extracted the contents of the ROM update to a temporary folder on the PC. It's just a matter of locating it! When you have, you can copy the RUU_signed*.nbh file to the folder with the SSPL_mini file.
Be aware that only the OS ROM will be updated by this method- the Radio ROM cannot yet be updated other than with a full stock ROM flash.
I have a Vodafone Mini like yourself and followed the instructions from the SSPL thread. Worked a treat.

Is O2 UK stock Rom Buggy?

Hi
I flashed NODO using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988672
But wasn't Happy with the key board being USA and I dont really Use Compy/paste
so decided to go back to O2 Rom and flashed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957031 by schubert
The file got kicked off by Norton and I had to recover it from Quarantine.
Anyways the point I would Like to make is:
even though I have pre NODO again now . NOT once have my apps crashed like before or I had the need to reboot my phone like before and phones feels fast and ringtones sounds improved as it was when in NODO.
Has anyone tried going from NODO to pre NODO ?
would like to know your comments ( only people have unoffcial NODO update and gone back might be able to comment I guess)
I am so happy that I dont really care when the official NODO is out now
Not sure how buggy it is, but it is much older than the one you installed.
[ROM]RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.19.206.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_2 2.30.50.09_Signed
[ROM]RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.68.206.03_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a _22.36.50.15_Signed
Quite a big difference in versions, so I'd imagine the firmware is less buggy. The operating system is the same version (7004 or 7008, if you updated via Zune) but obviously the OS communicated to the marketplace via the Radio. So perhaps the updated radio improves things.
New radio driver's usually giver better battery life, too.
EDIT: I too unbranded to the HTC_Europe firmware, but like you, the lack of a UK Keyboard irritated me, but no where near as much as the US voice that you get when doing voice searching.
I've been looking into whether or not i can transfer over the keyboard and voice files to the HTC_Europe ROM. I've a developer account with MS, so I can freely prowl the registry and file system and I have found the registry files pertaining to the UK voice (Microsoft Hazel, it's called) and what I believe to be the speech file itself. No luck on the Keyboard, however.
Not that the O2 firmware annoys me much. In fact, with a registry tweak to remove Yahoo Search in IE and removing mologo.bmp in the Windows folder you can't tell it's an operator ROM. It would just be nice to get updates as soon as they're released
Well from my experience my HD7 was shipped with ROM:RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.19.206.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_2 2.30.50.09_Signed This ROM was seriously buggy, had many issues i.e. frequent marketplace crash, random reboot etc...!!
So I decided to flash a stock HTC ROM: RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09. 21_22.33b.50.10_Signed
which already had NoDo OS 7389, this ROM was much better more stable however like you guys, the lack of a UK Keyboard irritated me!
Therefore I reverted to back to a newer O2 ROM: RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.68.206.03_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a _22.36.50.15_Signed which I was pleased to say was very stable and fast, then all I did was forced NoDo OS 7390 update via zune keep bare in mind prior to doing that I chevron unlocked it so that it stays unlocked even after the update!
I personally Can't seem to force the update via Zune... on my HTC HD7 on O2 UK, so I have kinda given up as I aint too keen on the update much as my Phone is quiet stable now
Yeah and I do have the newer radio as well ...
And I feel if MS keeps coming with the updates WP7 will rock..
cause from nokia symbian I became an Android Fan , but now am leaning more towards WP7
Sorry, i am a bit new to wp7 stuff,
-How to flash the rom with the new radio ?
-Should i make any backup, i keep my hd7 on sync with Zune, it will restore everything after i flash the new rom, right ?
right now i am on radio 5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
Firmware : 2250.09.11901.206
thanks in advance,
EDIT: ok, done a little search, flashed the rom and now updating it.

[Q] Downgrade HD7 to official Firmware Version

I need some help. I have a T-Mobile US HTC Hd7 from official NODO to the "leaked Mango" early update- then updated via zune to "official Mango" when prompted it was available.
Current SW version says 7.10.7720.68 is this an "official" release?
Firmware Revision 2250.21.40503.531
Hardware Revision 0002
Bootloader Version 4.5.2250.0(129966)
Now the phone is having some hardware issues, and is authorized for a warranty exchange from T-mobile.
Before I send it back to them, I'll want it to look like it's on an official firmware.
I'm not sure if it's all the new firmwawre versions or just the unofficial update, but since upgrading the WP7 Boot logo is the red square, and factory reset defaults to the red color scheme. I'd hate to have them void the warranty over it.
There is no premangostate folder on my hard drive, so I'm assuming restoring to a backup is out of the question unless theres a way to trick zune into installing an older stock rom. Then the trick will be finding one officialy branded.
Thanks for the help folks!
that should be official OTA update for Mango.
if you are not a hundred percent sure, though...
you could always just flash a TMOUS Shipped ROM. here.
sh4d0w86.
So the red is normal?
I'm downloading a Pre No-do TMOUS rom right now, since that's how I bought the phone in the first place. Does it matter which version I chose? There seem to be 3 to choose from. I opted for the latest.
Then I should be able to connect to zune, and it will update all the way up to mango, is that corect?
Off topic, but the download just finished. Norton 360 was quick to identify the file as a threat, and quarantined. Any ideas there? I figure a false-positive.
BTW- I've been reading a bit on your intrinsicROM. Excited to give it a whirl when my new HD7 is shipped. I applaud your giant leap in the right direction.
Update: Norton is just being over-protective. All is good.
I can't post a link, but google ws.reputation.1 Silly norton.

the Dark theme with Red accent is normal for TMOUS Mango.
unsure why Norton would detect as a threat.
i would actually go for 1.20, which was uploaded by Football.

and definitely looking forward to any feedback you might have when you try it out.

Unfortunately, I cant post in the intrinsic thread yet, but I'm interested in seeing some screenshots of the new black and htc accents if any are handy.
