[Q] regarding task killer & screen lag - Huawei Ideos X6

hi
1. i read a lot about task killers well i have used them on my 2.2 os phone and it works ok.But some were i read it is not needed on 2.3.4
iam using one right now can any one advise on the same
im using the free app from the Market called taskiller
i also did try juice defender did not see any real improvement using this app
2. Im ok with the original 2.3.4 but im getting the screen startup lag
ie when i press the side button to start the screen it takes a few secs for the screen to come on any solution for this
kindly do advise on the above & thanks in advance

then it means you are not on official update of csl mi 410 available in India .. did you downloaded it from the spice global website or what... you can try rooting your phone and setting cpu to some sort of profiles which actually saves quite a bit of battery life... try first updating to the official rom which can be downloaded from here
http://www.spiceglobal.com/SpiceMobiles/Model.aspx?Id=200
after that you should root your phone so that us can overclock and under clock the cpu and making profiles for it really saves tones of battery lol

1. task killer is NOT recommended for android phone, it's not windblows, it's android man
2. it's bug from stock GB ROM, better using Andro-ID V3.3-RC2 by TJ_Style

hi
thanks i have this rom and this is the one which gives the screen turning on lag
now i just flashed another official rom ending 18D(this one: FBO-318D-0-512-A03) and this seems not to have the problem
i got this from the lowyat forum

Normally it is that Android 2.3 in general handles Multi-tasking very well compared to previous versions and even though the programs which seems to be open and are in background doesn't consume any battery power so you killing them and android starting them again will only suck more battery power.
Hope it helps

I'd wait til CM6 becomes final. 2.1 IMO just doesn't run well enough on G1's hardware. The speed is there, but apps get killed too easily for memory.

Well, I couldn't run Pandora and then check my email and do gchat. Pandora would shut off when I try to do other things. Didn't have SWAP set up. Didn't have this issue with 1.6.

There is a lot of good custom ROMs. Go check The Rom Bible and look at the ratings of every ROM there. You will find something good.
And I agree that Eclair is usable, but not to fast. You have to set up a swap partition to run it good enough to be a daily driver. However, you will not find as fast 2.1 ROM as stock Donut. G1 has too little RAM memory (processor is good enough). But something for something - if you once see 2.1 ROM you won't want to go back, trust me .
If you're looking for speed - check Dwang, it's very good.
BUT! Very much depends how your son will use the phone. If his gonna do a lot of multitasking and play with the phone 24/7 then he should stay on 1.6 or start reading how to really set up an Eclair ROM to run smooth. If he is really casual user then almost every ROM will be OK for him.

2.1 sucks for multitasking. My widgets update 5 minutes late on average and sometimes they never do and I have to open the app to get them to update. Horrible.

that problem went away for me as soon as I ditched all Widgets that required a background dedicated service.. rather than just using the widget API to update from application data.

Interesting.
If he's anything like my son, he'll be using the phone for messaging. I would definitely avoid Eclair and Froyo for now. No need to root it - stock 1.6 is fine for most everyday purposes. If he starts to want to install tons of apps, then you can root and start investigating your options.
lol that happened to me my first day having the phone >.<

[Q] Battery life unusually short

Hello all!
Here's my problem. For the past week I have noticed that the battery life's very short. And by short, I mean less than 10 hours fully charged. I got no new applications since this problem appeared, and everything seemed to be working perfectly. Then suddenly I woke up one day and noticed that the phone is turned off. Any ideas on what could be the problem?
I'm running Android 2.3.3 I9000XXJVK.
Here you can see battery use, if it helps.
Thanks in advance!
Battery Drain on 2.3.3
Flash JVR 2.3.4
Thats problem in JVK...go to setting > account and sync > disable background data + auto sync.
Hope this work if not then left 2.3.3 abd come to 2.3.5 JVS

But I've always had background data and sync enabled and it always worked perfectly fine. Why would this suddenly be the reason for battery drain? Also, at night I always turn off WiFi and data network.
Well disable this when ur not using....i think u should give a try and close them...because high android os usage is due to this....

Since disabling background data didn't help very much with battery drain(it extended battery life by 1-2 hours), I decided to try another ROM. Now, it's unplugged for 11 hours and it's still at 90%. So far, I'm completely satisfied with F1 Galaxy S II V6 ROM.
That was the awesome rom i dnt know what special ingrediant he use in his rom...i test F1 innovation and i got 3200 quadrant score and long battery life...but the major problem is touchwiz 3.

Using V7 and after 8 hours on doing almost nothing it ate all the juice from my battery
So much bad info here...
Notice how 'Android OS' is eating a disproportionately large amount of your battery? This is called the 'Android OS' bug, which appeared shortly after the release (and use) of JVK—which just so happens to be what you're running. Just for the record, your display should almost always be the highest consumer of battery. If it isn't, you have problems... just like you do now.
Reboot your phone to get rid of it. Battery pull if that doesn't help. It inevitably will show up again, however; it's merely a matter of time. If you'd like to permanently solve this issue, simply upgrade to 2.3.4 (JVP) or newer.
Please, all of you... just look at your battery stats. It's a built-in, handy feature—so use it.
EDIT: As it appears, this is an old thread. Please don't bump old threads...
Androids OS uses <= 5% on semaphore on JVT
Hello Ali Khalid, Nice work ..being a medico and cooking up a rom is tough job ..but ur ROM is awesome..but brother i have one problem..its not with your ROM but it is with all the custom ROMs i flashed..i have gotta big problem with Battery Life..i dont know why this happens..i always follow the proper procedure...still my battery drains like from 100 to straight 91 in 5 minutes..but after flashing stock rom ( currently on JVT ) itall back to normal life. 2.3.3 has a very high frequency of Android OS and Android System battery drain. The best solution is to flash 2.3.4 or 2.2.1.
2.3.4 has a much lower frequency of the battery drain bug, while 2.2.1 has no battery drain bug.

You really just need to mess around with 2.3 for a bit.
e.g:
- Downgrade to the old market
- Choose a theme (?)
- Install V6 Supercharger Script
- Move apps to SD
- Use apps that won't slow. down your phone massively.
- Enjoy your X8! (Or W8 )

cant downgrade my market sadly... oh btw what mod u using? i tried DX but it;s too lag...now installing cruzt ~ is it advisable to change the preloaded launcher?

Its not advisable but I see that you use Go Launcher. In my opinion Go Launcher lags my phone and its laggy itself. Although its a very nice launcher. I would recommend Zeam Launcher or LaunvherPro for the first few days or week.
And you can downgrade the market. Like me. I just did it yesterday.

Hmmm,
I'm not quite sure. I've only used GingerDX and FroyoBread (briefly).
I Use GingerDX all the time now. Its my main rom.
Did you try FroyoBread v23b? Its supposed to have great battery life and be very fast. FroyoBread development has long since stopped but you can try FroyoPro (exact same as FroyoBread but its just that someone is developing it a bit more).

Only one way, Don't install unnecessary apps like widgets, battery saver, antivirus softwares. and if possible use custom debloated ROM (caution :it'll void warranty).
I think we can get our warranty back by resetting the binary counter and flashing your country's FW again and unroot.
Thank you

If you're playing games on your phone, moving them to sd will make them lag. Not faster. You can limit background process though for better multitask if you're having lags and not wanting to root.

Moving app to SD card will only increase loading time.It won't give increase performance.
In addition, you can try not to install many chat apps (ie: viber, line, wechat etc..) cause all of this always running in background consuming ram space and battery. Just whatsapp is enough. Well good enough for me though.

But there're no debloated stock roms, only some customs with heavy theming.
Correct me, if I'm mistaken.
or you can root and de-bloat it yoursel, then un-root if you really want to keep it stock only.
Debloat by yourself mean to unninstall the apps that you dont need.
For example, i have only 98 apps from over 160 apps who came stock ROM.
Its only your choice what applications choose to erase from stock.
You have a guide in my signature with debloating ROM safe.

the phone is good and a great value for money after the recent price drop...
all games run quite nice with occasional lag and hiccups and thats due to lesser ram in the phone...if you are heavily inclined towards playing high end games i would suggest you to not go for this one buy a phone with atleast 1gb ram...
and one more disadvantage (not for everyone though) is that this phone is not really developer friendly and apple of every developer's eye out there due to chipset...
see for your priorities and make the decision..:good:

You have to try..
I tried some rom, and all are good, custom kernel are *-*!
On my Galaxy S3, I tried so many ROMs but I always went back to either stock or Android Revolution HD. I now have the One and I use Android Revolution HD 10.2 which is great, but I haven't tried any other custom ROMs, to be honest with you. I may give Trickdroid a shot since it seems very popular here, but I'll probably go back to ARHD eventually since I love how stock, stable and fast it is, and most importantly battery life is great.
well ive used the hd 10.2 today and seemed ok i listened to music streamed music from dropbox and listened to tunein radio today and battery life seemed good and also didnt get as hot as the other roms ive tried for what i use it for do i really need 4 cores active all the time could i not just have 2 active mostly and 4 when needed would this help the temperture of the phone and save even more battery life ?
I am not sure the kernel supports that. I know that the Galaxy S4's octa-core or whatever has that feature, but I am not sure about the One. Perhaps it does as well.

Use stock. It's so stable I have no words for it and you don't have to mess with it too . So what do you say?

with pretty much every rom it will be hotter at first but after a few days it will cool down. and if you turn on power saver it will limit the cpu and other things if you set it to which will help with temp and battery
Use greenify for better battery. Set it where it hybernates all apps when their not being used. Battery life is great without it but with it... It's phenominal.
