[Q] How to get out of "polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1" - Huawei Ideos X6

Dear respected members,
I bought a Spice Mi-410 two months back and everything was fine till today. I followed this thread before buying the phone. I upgraded my phone from stock froyo rom to WellcoM A99 gingerbread rom using SUTL3 (v1.7.4) and upgrade process went smooth. However today when I was downgrading to stock froyo firmware.nb0 from Ardx mirror, using SUTL3, I got an error and phone restarted and continuously I'm getting
Incoming Download Mode
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1 (continuous looping)
After pulling out of battery, it's getting stopped but when I'm reinserting the battery and pressing the power button even pressing power+volume up+down, I'm getting the same error.
Request you to help me to find a way to boot in into normal mode.
Sorry for my poor english

It sounds like your vol up button is stuck, because the power on button should not put you in download mode if pushed by itself.

May be it was an incomplete download or bad ROM image.
Did you try installing any other nb0 file which had worked previously?
Just remove battery, Keep your SUT L3 ready for installation and then boot up phone and proceed to installation.
(It would be better if you choose wipe user data option while installing.)

Hi Napstar,

SUT status "Phone not connected" Even after removing & reinserting the battery and plugging in usb, without pressing any button it started to give me "Incoming Download Mode"

Though I have never used SUT LR for installing any ROM (being a linux user, cant install XP windows softwares), since even SUT is showing phone not connected even if it is in download mode, this shows that your device has suffered some problem. And its not case with the volume up button being stuck (got continuously pressed).
I have only two suggestions,
Take your phone to service center and explain some crap reasons for such behavior of your cell and ask for warranty.
OR, find a linux running computer (preferably Ubuntu), connect your device to that computer and boot.
By following the second method you could check the existence of your internal storage card/Phone memory. (I guess so)
Since, by connecting phone to ubuntu in download mode shows complete partition table of device on my computer. I have taken a full raw backup of my phone's internal storage. If it is visible for you then we could replace your internal disk partitions with mine.
Though this is a risky method, this is the only option that we will be left with is Service Center people says No.

Boot problem after downgrading

Hi,
I am sorry if there is already a similar thread, but I couldnt find it.
I have a huge problem with my German T-Mobile G1. Today I wanted to root the system. I used the instructions on XDA forum and "successfully" did the downgrading to RC7 but now I cant power on the phone. It stops at loading screen with android text and logo. Nothing happens than.
I have tried with the wipe and manual update with next version of firmware using update.zip but problem is still here. My phone is now totally unusable and I can now just hope that here on this forum can someone help me.
Please give me an advice
edit: there is one more thing: I can not power of the phone without taking the battery out. It automatically turns on every time I put battery in and every time I restart. Switch off button does not work any more.
Is the usb cable plugged in everytime you pull the battery and reinsert it? Because if it is the usb cable automatically turns on your g1. Can you access recovery +/or bootloader?
Recovery = home+power
bootloader = camera+power
If you can't get pass the g1 screen by pressing either combination of buttons you are bricked. If you are bricked () Call your carrier and tell them that you got an OTA update and it never turned on since. They should replace your g1 with a new one
I dont use USB cable. I prepared the microSD card using the USB-reader dongle. But I had pluged the electric cable so that was probably the reason for automatic turning on. Ok, now we can focus on the main problem.
Yes, I can access both recovery and bootloadaer al least. As I said, I have tried with some updating but nothing worked yet. When I use recovery some of files give me message: E: No signature. E:Verification failed.
This thing with carrier could also be a problem. I bought my phone in a shop which is buying them in another country because G1 is not officially being sold in our county. They give me a guarantee but it is guarantee from the shop and not official importer, so there would probably be some problems.
Thanks for trying to help me. I hope with this informations it would be little easier.
Place the file on your sdcard again. Down load a fresh copy of the latest hacked RC and make sure (if you're on windows) to name it "update" not update.zip because the .zip is already assumed in windows. Once its on your sdcard wipe and flash it. See if that works.
Can I use hacked RC on G1 that has not been rooted yet - just now very successfully downgraded?
do You place on sd card file "dreaimg.nbh" and turn on the phone with camera button pressed ?

UN-BRICK Galaxy Mini

HI
I have bricked my mini because i have used ROM MANGER.
And now its wont boot at all.
I am thinking about bring it to repair in the shop that i have bought it from.
What should i say?
Is it possiable that they will knew that i have flashed ROM?
I found that Soultion in the internet:
Step 1 – Prepare Odin with a WORKING firmware and make sure everything is ready to go
Step 2 – Remove battery, SIM card and SD card, and connect your phone if it isn’t already connected
Step 3 – Hold Volume down + Power + Home button at the same time
Step 4 – Insert the battery while holding down the above buttons
Do you think its will work?
And another thing:
Is it possiable that i will got shocked from the phone when i will connect the battery?
Aftr all, Iron (Metal ) is providing electricity.
The battery is from Metal, and the Surface is from Metal.
Dont worry about your phone..
Just give it to samsung care for repair.. they wont catch u!!
If they ask u reason??
Reason: updating via kies but din't started again!!!
because bricking by kies or rom manager are same issues..
BUT NEVER USE ROM MANAGER..
ODIN will not work now.. because your phone will not get into downloading mode!!!

[Q] Help me pls.. I think I've really bricked my P990

Hi all kind bros and sis,
Please help me out as I think I've really bricked my less than 2 months brand new Optimus 2X..
You see.. I rooted my P990 using unlock root and chanced upon CM7 and thought of giving it a try. I installed clockworkmod and downloaded the stable release of 7.1 for Optimus 2x.. following the instruction to do a Nandroid backup and proceeded with the Mod..
Not knowing that I need to wipe everything including data.. I just selected the Dalvik cache wipe and proceed with the mod. The process went for more than 15mins and I saw some graphics (the android figure going round and round) but it just stuck there... the screen went blank and when I touched those home or back buttons.. they will lighted but nothing happens. I can't power it off also. So I manually took out the battery and put it back before powering up again. The android picture appeared again briefly for about 1 min and just hanged there. I took out the battery again and this time it was dead.. no matter what I press : vol + and power buttons together; home+Vol+ + power down; Vol- + power down.. all those do not revive the phone.
I tried taking out the external SD card and try powering up. The LG logo appeared and got stuck there.
I searched on Google and found the smartflashtool. I tried that and managed to install the NVidia boot recovery driver and stuff correct. Hold the vol+ button and power key before plugging in but the smarttool did not find the com port or communication driver whatever so I couldn't flash it back to stock.
I'm very desperate and stuck now... did I just accidentally burned the board or something? What bad luck I have
If that's the case, will I still be able to bring the phone back to LG service centre and get it repaired?
Please help me.. any kind souls out there. I really liked the phone and hoped to bring it back. else it's such a shortlived phone... really breaks my heart to see this..
Thanks in advance...

Turn off the phone. Hold Vol-DOWN while plugging it in. Start Smartflash and see the com-ports magically appear.
Follow trymhansen's instructions. He helped me before with my softbricked phone.
I hope you get your O2X back to life! Keep us posted
Best of luck to you!
PS. I also believe you should pull out the battery after turning off the phone in Trym's instructions. Trym correct me if I'm wrong please.
Hi All,
Thanks for your kind replies. I did follow your instruction. Take out the battery (I removed the ext SDcard as well), press and hold -vol and plug in the phone via USB. Afterwhich start up smartflash tool.. still nothing happens and no com ports are found.. The version of smartflashtool that I used is Dec 2010. Do I need to get the latest one and also the LG united drivers installed?
I also tried starting smartflash tool before the sequence.. still the same. BTW.. my OS is Win 7. Is it supported?
Really at my end's wit. Hope I can bring my phone back to life soon and I'm not really bricking it. I heard Samsung phones are not that easy to brick and can get to the recovery mode pretty easily. is it true?
Please help me.. thanks
Hi bros,
Attached are my screenshots from the device manager and smartflash tool... both seems not able to find the phone and allocate a com port. I've tried installing the latest LG mobile driver 3.6 but no help as well
Have you followed instructions as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070 ?
Also, try to attach your phone directly to computer, using usb ports from computer mainboard. I have experienced problems when attaching it via extension usb cord or attaching it to computer case ports. (I hope that you can understand what I have mean to say with usb )
Hi Memhis,
Yes.. I followed exactly the instructions from the thread and I've plugged into a USB port directly to the computer which is one of the ports in front.. not via any extension or USB hub.. still it did not detect.
I'll try to use another computer which is running Win XP and try again. I've downloaded those 3 files from that thread you recommended try using those instead.. hope it can be detected this time else I think I'll have to send to LG service for repair tomorrow.
I've been jailbreaking and modding my Iphone a lot and everytime whenever there's a near brick situation.. I'm able to fix it but not this time with an Android or LG perhaps... I hope I don't have to go to the extend of using ADB low level to push some files which I saw in one of the thread that one of the guys did that.. but I doubt I can since my windows can't even detect the phone!!
Maybe this will be my first and last LG phone if I ever get it repaired...

launch smartflashtool first, extract the .fls and .bin files, hold down volume at the same time plug in the usb port to your comp. you must see a s/w updating logo in your phone's screen and smartflash should detect your phone. then click start!

Hi mrgian,
I just tried to revive my phone by using the same method on a different laptop running on Win XP.. plugged directly to a side USB port but still no luck. There's no s/w updating logo appearing on my phone and smartflashtool also failed to detect my phone. I've found another thread opened by another user and my situation is exactly the same as his :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161583
But lucky for him is that he's able to get it working after changing to another PC but I've tried 3 different machines and no luck so far...
I'll try to use the NVflash as a last resort and see if I've any luck with NVflash at all.. If it failed again.. I think I've no choice but to send it to the repair centre for servicing then..

When you say an USB port in the front do you mean an USB in the back? Because the ones in front are the case ones, the ones in the back are the good ones, i.e. the ones that are directly attached to the mobo.

not disconnect or power off the phone.” (OR SIMILAR).
Purpose:
If you have tried to enable animated boot menu's which will make the
screen hang while booting up and in most severe cases make the phone
un-bootable.
How to use:
#1 Firstly, note down the IMEI of your mobile. You can do this by
removing the back cover and battery. After removing the battery you
will see IMEI1 and IMEI2. Note both of them down. Either one can be
used.
#2 Next you will need to make sure that the PC you will be using has LG
PC Suite installed, with latest USB drivers and LG Support Tool.
#3 After putting your phone in EDM you can connect it to LG Support
Tool, it will hopefully receive the required information. If it doesn't
then you can manually go to options >> recovery >> enter IMEI.
#4 Next, your phone should be discovered and the software tool will
automatically download the latest STOCK FIRMWARE for the mobile.
#5 Essentially, if all above fails, and your phone is still not discovered by
the tool, you can restart the process and this time after putting your
phone in EDM you can directly open up LG PC Suite and you can go to
Tools/Options and click support tool/phone recovery.
#6 In the above case your phone should be recognized, if it doesn't then
manually input your IMEI as mentioned earlier. And all will work out
IF I HELPED, PLEASE KINDLY SAY THANKS, IT TAKES WEEKS TO WRITE A PROPER GUIDE, BUT MINUTES TO SAY THANKS.
HAPPY HUNTING AND FLASHING
Could you please number the steps, so that it will be easy to follow the step by step instructions. If the EDM mode is followed, what will be the Android software that gets installed on the mboile? Will it be be ICS for E615 or any ealrier version. The reason I asked because
1. I connected my phone via USB to PC (Selected the option "Connect LG SOftware")
2. Opened LG supported tool.
3. Selected "Recover phone"
4. It asked to enter the IMEI.
5 .After entering IMEI, it showed the model as E615 and when clicked "Yes", I got the below msg
"
- After upgrading the OS (eg. Android 1.6 Donut; Andorid 2.1 Eclair), user data will be erased. Therefore, please backup all the data prior to the upgrade process.
- Applications previosuly download from Android market will be earsed as well". However any data stored in SD will remain.
- After upgrading OS, user will not be able to restore to the previous version even Factory reset is performed.
Would you like to conitnue (Yes/NO)
"
I was not activating the EDM mode. Just I was tryign to familiarize with the LG Support tool. But at the same time, worried in case if we want to activate EDM, then will the Android verson be same (ICS) or the previous version?
Yes it will ask u that and u have to comply, whether it is EDM or not
with the after it starts updating my sofware it freezes at 4% ? help
My Device Not Entering to Emergency Mode

My device not Entering to emergency mode, so i'm not flashing my device.
My Device Trouble is Bootloop, stuck in LG Logo. please help me master
thanks this is very helpfull to noobs like me. this is always my last resort to restoring my phone whenever I softbrick my phone.
THe whole recovery function finishes but the phone still does not boot up what may be the reason?
The reason for the phone not booting up is that the System memory has been flashed. Try to enter the EDM once again and Hopefully that should work out for you. Post your feedback here.

This is what I get when I connect the phone by USB.
I just cant get into emergency, DIAG or emergency CS
KDZ the phone connects and then I get a message afterwards PHONE NOT FOUND.
everytime I install the drivers by LG support tool, it keeps giving me the option to install the driver, like I havent done it a hundred times over.
I think there should be a driver somewhere that can be installed but the only people that have this driver are LG tech's. So they can bill you after
send the phone in cause you rooted it. So the one billion dollar question is witch hero will find a way to unbrick this device. We only need a way
to get a driver to install and we are home free. Or maybe the only other option is throwing the phone for sale on internet for spare parts
HELP PLEASE HELP find a way to unbrick this phone. Believe me I flashed and bricked alot of different phones and there was a way out but in
with this phone it seems impossible!!
And there is no mode to put it in in because te volume buttons don't do crap, the home button also, the only time that the phone does show up is when windows tells me it has an unknown device that I for the love of god can't find a driver for. I tried SDK, the LG drivers, but no dice
any other options??
Easy Peasy
@breakercris
The solution to your above mentioned Problem is very very easy. Not techy at all.
Basically there might be some drivers that might be conflicting.
Try to fix things in Device Manager and post screen shots here.
Also if you are unable to get them working then try a Reformat for your PC. IMHO go for WINDOWS 7 or 8.
Lastly remove the battery of your phone.
Also make sure you have LG PC Suite Installed and LG Support Tool Installed as well.
Hold down the power and the volume buttons and insert the USB Cable into the PHONE WITHOUT THE BATTERY, and my dear friend you will be home free.
Sincerely,
XxXKINGMAKXxX
PS. If you still need some help, PM me
I appreciate in writing the steps to install firmware. It would be great if there is some info on how to avoid the online firmware download. Do you have any info on that?

Yes you can use kdz flasher to install it offline. You should have the ROM downloaded for this to work
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Hi. I'll use this thread to ask something related. I've a LG L5 E610. Wanted to flash a generic brand-free rom and apparently i need to boot to emergency mode (vol up + vol down + power) except the phone can't boot to any mode except for a regular boot - phone works perfectly with a simple boot just using the power button. If i try any key combo all i get are the bottom soft keys (back and options) quickly flashing. That's it, screen stays off, nothing more happens.
Phone's new, all i did was reseting it (vol down + home + power) and rooted it following some method i found around here (worked flawlessly too). I also know vol up + home + power also used to work before this (tried it by accident before).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Well it must be a phone issue, previously when I tried to upgrade my phone, it used to give me the error after downloading and just before installing, PHONE SOFTWARE NOT COMPATIBLE.
I just realized that the bootloader and the Software version for the region were not properly set.
About the Battery issue, well try it with a new battery, or else try to clear battery statistics. EDM should basically allow you install the Original Firmware.
Anyways, google up the Stock Rom for your phone, they are most likely available on

There are some guide
There are a couple of guides out there that would help you install the STOCK or CUSTOM roms on your LG Mobile, the best one that has been around for quite sometime is KDZ Flasher. Give it a try and hopefully everything works fine.

Well i have never heard of such a problem before. Have a look at your user manual or go to LG website and download the tech manual for your phone for repairs and it will help you with the EDM mode amd you will be good to go.

[Q] Have I managed to HARD-BRICK my phone?

Switched from one provider to another, got a new phone which uses micro-sim, and couldnt get the p880 to read the new sim card, so I have been using the new phone, which is greatly inferior to the p880..
With the p880 just sitting around unused, i decided i might as well try to mod it, then get a regular sim card for it and start using it again. I think i killed it instead.
Before it died on me, I formatted / wiped / factory reset and then used the LG Mobile Support tool to upgrade to whatever the newest official release was.. 4.1.2??
At this point, here is what it can do:
1) When attempting to just turn it on and USE it as normal, it turns on, gets to the animated LG logo and stays there forever.
2) Power + Vol Down = OEM LG recovery menu
3) Power + Vol Up = Some kind of Restore graphic
4) Power + Vol Up and Down (AVX) = nothing
5) Plugged into USB with battery removed and holding Vol Down = home row LEDs light up, nothing else
Windows sees the phone as a "removable disk H:" when I plug it in, but the LG recovery software does not see it, and it also does not show up in the device manager..
At this point, all that I can seem to access is the "apply update from ADB" option to do an "adb sideload" command in recovery mode.. When I send over the root tool, the phone is happy. If I attempt to send anything else over via sideload, I always get kicked out of the process when it gets to the "verifying installation package" portion. I can wipe / factory reset to my heart's content, but I can get absolutely no further than this after attempting for about six hours yesterday.
Any hope for me or do i have a dope looking paperweight? Will providing you guys either the IMEI or S/N shed any light into a path to recovery?
Thanks for your time!
You have a booting rom, the device is not even close to hard brick. Is your bootloader unlocked? If yes you can flash a custom recovery with fastboot and install any rom you want.

thank you, speady.. it turned out to be the first solution that you suggested, which i had seen before during my scouring of these forums.. but the real basis of my problem was that i had my phone plugged into the front-facing USB port of my computer rather than the one directly connected to the motherboard (on the back).. i guess the phone wasnt getting enough juice out of the front port to boot to S/W Update mode.. i am back to stock LG software and am eventually going to mod to another ROM
THANK YOU!
